This summer my stereo in my SUV quit playing CDs' , giving me an error message after a moment or two. (15 yr. old Bose system). So I did some research online for a good place to check it out and either repair or replace it. I stopped at one place, and the owner didn't even bother to look at it; he just said it would cost me @ $300. either to have it repaired or to replace it... I wasn't impressed. I took it to Sargent's Stereo, and was absolutely delighted with the level of service and expertise. The owner came right out and took a thorough look at it, asking me questions and troubleshooting the problem. Once he found the cause he explained in detail what was going on, and gave me estimates on sending it off for repair to the manufacturer (which I found would be cost prohibitive), or to replace it with a similar quality new stereo. We looked at and discussed pros and cons of the systems he had in the store, and I found him to be very honest and customer oriented, focusing on my needs. Very helpful and informative. We settled on one he recommended, (after he explained his reasons as to why he thought it the best system for my car compared to others he carried), at a very reasonable cost, which included installation while I waited. I found Sargent's altogether a great experience, very good at what they do and trustworthy. Very reasonable prices and really excellent customer service. Along with so many other Bend residents, I'm sad the Sargents are retiring soon after 35 years of great service, but he tells me he is leaving the business in good hands, to a long time employee who thinks just like he does, and who will provide the same level of top products and service for many years to come. This is a very good, detail oriented and reasonably priced business. They did an excellent job hard wiring a radar detector and from and back dash cams in my Tesla. Excellent work and very fair price. I highly recommend them. read more

They do have reasonable install prices. But I was looking at a stereo deck that was listed there for 170 but from the dealers website it was suggested retail at 150.00. Because it was the last one left and they did not plan on getting any more for awhile they offered me the demo one for 20.00 off= 150.00 which brings it down to the retailers asking price. Not great. I found the same deck at another establishment (box store) for 150 (the dealers asking price). I'd rather purchase local and have someone who really knows radios install something into my vehicle. So I went back in and spoke with the woman there. She offered the deck for 10.00 off their asking price = 160.00! I told her 1. I could get the deck new for 150 2. the installer there quoted me, yesterday, 150 for the demo one. She claimed that it is still a good radio and it still has the factory warranty. Which I am sure that it is still a good radio but it did have some marks from wear and tear.... not a biggie but she argued saying it was just oily finger marks which is not true (I did not see any finger marks). If I have the choice of buying a new radio for the same price as a demo one (that Sargent's Stereo has marked up 20.00 above asking retail and then knocked off because it is a demo) then I am going to choose the new one. The upside is that they offer rides if you need to leave your car. read more

I would give these guys 10 stars, but there's only 5. I bought a system online, because I thought it was getting a great deal on it. Turns out I did, but the website sent me a faulty sub! The amplifier did work, so they installed it right away. I was visibly bummed about being sent a faulty speaker, but they reassured me that the company I bought from was responsible enough to send me a new one, and Randy (the owner of sergeants) was even cool enough to loan me one of his own subwoofers in the time while my speaker was being shipped around and waiting for the new one to arrive. All in all, sergeants is the place I tell all of my friends to go for anything involving speakers and their car systems. They rock, and if recommend them 10/10. read more

I was directed to this shop when inquiring about getting a new car stereo installed. On 12-9-14, I went and was very pleased with the customer service. I told the staff person what I wanted and my budget for this stereo replacement and was shown 3 units that all met my needs. I picked the unit I wanted and asked if it would take long to get it installed, hopefully within a week. The man said "right now" as they had had a install cancellation that morning. I was very happy to have it installed right then. A very nice man did the installation and in 30 minutes, I was out the door. The installation was perfect and the service and price were terrific. I can highly recommend Sargent's Stereo over on Third St next to Sweetheart Donuts. I've had Seargents install sound in several vehicles over the years and they have progressively gotten worse and worse. I'm really disappointed in their service. I had been loyal to them for many years and this last vehicle just turned out a total mess. I had to go to AudioWerks to have the whole thing reinstalled. I just called Seargents Stereo to talk to him about it and suggest to him that the last few visits had left me disappointed in the work and he apologized by saying "Sorry it didn't work out for you." That was it. No offer to help, notta. Bummer. read more

I went to another stereo establishment and they quoted me $2,000 for what I was looking for. I hesitantly went into Sargent's before heading to Best Buy (I prefer dealing locally). IT WAS THE BEST DECISION EVER! Super friendly people and VERY knowledgeable. Their prices were better than every other place I went to and they installed my system in 45 mins. Better yet.....$180 all said and done! read more

My boyfriend got his stereo installed for a little under 1000 and we have had nothin but problems with it. The deck that was installed will randomly shut off and not let us play any sort of music. He has checked the cables and it has been lose cables but it just shut off AGAIN and lose cables doesn't seem to be the problem. Would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I came in and spoke to the owner about an install for my daughters truck. I had in advance listed the parts that I purchased online. We had to go over all aspects of the install in order for him to bill me. They talked me into some speakers that they sold ( thats not the complaint). We had a deck with Bluetooth and xm Sirius, 6 speakers, amp, sub with 2 speakers and backup camera. I paid in advance. We picked up the truck for her birthday. To my surprise the xm Sirius will only play through front speakers. No bass and you must turn up the stereo to three times the volume to hear xm Sirius. I called immediatly, the owner was very cordial and nice. The next time I was in bend bring it bye. My daughter who is 17 stopped in to have them check it out. They now tell us that they don't know how to operate kenwood decks?? They new how to operate them when they took my money to install them. At no time did any one say we can't install or program a kenwood deck. So I call the owner and explain. He basically said its the deck, then the module?? They don't know anything about kenwood. That's right a stereo store doesn't know how to install kenwood. Now the owner probably didn't take his Medication when I called. He was more concerned about insulting me and calling me a Californian ( I insure you I was born in Oregon-native) than dealing with the problem. This is the only complaint I have with them. They sold me a service. The service was installing the components we had discussed and to insure those products work. So here we are without satellite, after shelling out $1500. Then to deal with a infant, tantrum throwing businessman. Maybe you should go live in goldfield, NV. You won't have to worry about customer service. I've only just begun! read more
