I asked him if anything was wrong with the car he stated the battery and its been sitting for 8 months so gas might be bad. I told him thank you for being honest, those things I could fix. The car ran a bit rough but i figured it was because of the bad gas. Long story short theres a major oil leak in the engine and needs a new engine that I cannot fix. So this business owner just lied to me knowing I could not fix the car to make a fast buck he took advantage of my situation. Now if he will be underhanded in his personal dealings how will this business owner act in his professional dealings. People, I would not do business with a dishonest person like this. We brought in our vehicle for some codes and were looking for guidance and then subsequent repairs. After the oil filter was pulled, we were told we needed a new engine - to the tune of 18,000! The shop told us the filter was completely full of metal contaminant and there was nothing further to inspect. This made little to no sense as we had no loss of power, no ticking, knocking or other signs of engine trouble. Completely confused and at a loss, we opted to pick up our vehicle and obtain a second opinion at an alternate shop. That next shop proceeded to pull the oil filter and while some contaminant was noticed, there was zero evidence of any metal contamination. They pulled the filter apart, searched it, ran a magnet and could definitively confirm there was no metal present. The shop was able to uncover the oil pump solenoid was not functioning properly due to a blocked screen. We replaced the oil pump assembly, and it is running perfectly without further incident. It seems as though the technician cut many corners by not proceeding to review the oil filter to confirm what the contaminant was. Had we blindly listened to Wade Bryant, we might have unnecessarily spent a small fortune on a new engine that was absolutely not needed!
