He has that stylistic eye and hates clutter, so I rely on him when it comes to furnishing our home. As we talked about how we want to decorate our future home, we knew we had to find unique pieces that would match the color scheme of the condo and something we would like. On a whim, we checked out Red Knot and stumbled upon the couch that met all of our criteria: 1. Gray 2. Unique look with the white stitching, not so boxy design and it came with two little stools that would be stored in the armrest 3. Had a chaise Plus it had a matching ottoman with storage and can turn into a bed. We loved it. But of course we had questions. And, it's like the furniture gods heard our prayer and sent us Derek. He saw us looking around and stopped by us to see how we were doing and if we had questions. He was able to answer all of our questions and helped us with the transaction. When learning that we were in the process of buying a place, he helped us to figure out the timing of when we would receive couch as well as the payment options available. Besides from the great service we received, I loved the wide selection of items available and the prices are competitive. I know we will be back for the other pieces.

So instead of calling, I had no choice but to drive all the way back through traffic. When I arrived, the sales associate saw me, handed me the earring, and said she was "going to text me." No apology, no "sorry for the inconvenience" -- nothing. Considering they have my number from the rewards program sign-up, that was disappointing. Overall, Sugar Sugar is a cute boutique with stylish pieces, but expect boutique pricing and limited dressing room amenities. The service could use improvement, especially when mistakes happen.

Yes, you need to have military access to come here and if you have that you're golden! They had some of the best prices I've seen on the island, I found a vintage Def Leppard shirt for $2 and otherwise found really cheap clothes to wear to the beach and work. It was double punch day when we went so I took part in that and gave the card to my friend who is local. All in all, one of my favorite thrift stores on Oahu!

First, this is on base, so you do need base access, but you do not need to have military ID to make a purchase here. Now that the Trusted Traveler program has been reinstated as Honolulu moves into Tier 3, that can make it a little easier for non-military folks to get here if someone can sponsor you in the gate. This place is a more upscale alternative to the kinds of things you might find at the Stadium Swap Meet, ABC Stores, or similar. Great for gifts and home decor, similar to Soha Living. Not quite everything is locally made, but a significant proportion is. They carry a lot of my favorites - Nick Kuchar prints, Coco Moon for baby gifts, Bradley & Lily cards and notebooks, Pura Vida. The prices are what you'd pay anywhere else, and the money goes to support military-affiliated charities. They have some clothing, keiki stuff, holiday decor, jewelry, jams and jellies, kitchen/bar items, gifts. Hours are mostly mornings (9-1 many days), but they are also open Saturdays. They do close during Christmas/New Years, so keep that in mind if you need gifts. Parking is available right out front, and it's never been crowded when I've come.
