So glad this location has stayed open - Kailua one was recently sold to Mari's Gardens. This location often has "rare" and hard-to-find plants at very reasonable prices ... I purchased a 2' red sealing wax palm for about $40 a couple of years ago. During today's visit they had medium variegated monsteras and small and large hapu'u ferns. They also had poinsettias on sale for half price, including some pink/white ones I hadn't seen before - couldn't resist picking up a hanging basket for $5.99. They also have a wide variety of seeds from UH Manoa and Fukuda Seed Stores - these seeds are bred for Hawaii's climate, and are "fresher" than commercial seeds from the mainland. This place gets busy on weekends and parking is limited so be patient if you're coming at peak times!

Super fan of this shop, the service, its products and the location. They have local produce (apple bananas, papayas), fresh cut and tropical flowers, potted plants, succulents, pele's hair, assortment of lei and much more.

I love plants.... I needed a few more hibiscus plants to fill in some bald spots in my hedges. I called all over and no one had the hibiscus plants I needed. After using my trusty Yelp app I found Koolau Farmers and great news.... They had the hibiscus plant I needed. I of course purchased several other plants to grow in my yard. They had such healthy beautiful plants. Koolau Farmers are easy to find in beautiful Kaneohe. The prices are great and the workers are super friendly. I had questions about a few of the plants and Marcus was able to tell me how much water and sun the plants I picked out would need and if they would grow well in my neighborhood. It was definitely worth the ride out to beautiful Kaneohe. I got some beautiful plants and learned a few things from Marcus. Thank you Marcus for all of your help....

KES and Ko'olau Farmers! Amazing field trip! Staff was great and all the keiki and teachers got beautiful flower bouquets!

Our summer school class came for a field trip. The staff at Ko'olau Farmers were so great, they had positive interactions with our keiki teaching them about all kinds of plants. They asked questions, had kids volunteer, and passed around plants. At the end they even gave each kid and teacher bouquets of flowers!!! Each person could take 2-3 BUNCHES of flowers. Mahalo to Ko'olau Farmers! #supportlocal

Picked up on orchid plant for a birthday gift. They had a good selection to choose from. The service was excellent. Paid a dollar extra for the foil. The clerk who put on the foil did a great job. Well worth paying a buck. They also have arrangements, grafted trees and just about everything you need for your garden. Stay safe and wear your mask.

This location has gorgeous plants and arrangements available for purchase. There is also a wonderful selection of orchids too. Prices are usually listed though you do need to pay attention if it's by the stalk. While card appears to be accepted from what we could see cash is highly preferred and it makes the process a whole lot faster. So don't forget to bring cash with you on your visit. Staff will also cut and wrap flowers in newspaper if you need/want it when you're checking out. This is a local business so it's great to support folks who are part of our communities especially when the plants are beautiful too.

Koolau Farmers is a locally owned/operated nursery and garden supply business that are home…read moregardening experts. It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!

It took me 3 visits to figure out what i really wanted and found my black leather reclining sofa. Ryan is very helpful and doesn't pressure you like salespeople at other furniture stores, he's very knowledgeable about the furniture. My only complaint that has nothing to do with this location is that the delivery men, both of them walked all over my carpet with their dirty shoes multiple times before I noticed since i was signing the order on their clip board. I thought they would stop walking on my carpet after they carried the sofa in but they did not. They should know better not to dirty carpets in Hawaii and to take off their shoes. I had to clean my carpet after they left and not happy about that. Part of it is my fault for not noticing. i recommend this place because the prices are cheaper and they had the perfect fit with a more light weight sofa for my small apartment. The ordering and delivery and everything went smoothly except for the delivery folks dirty shoes.
