The selection variety of succulents is impressive along with being one of the few succulent growers on the island. The price for small two inch pot was $3 as of this writing which is cheaper than what you can find in town as they are the growers/caretakers. Lynn (I think that is how you spell her name) is great. She is very customer service oriented and will only sell you the best that she has. You can pre-order how many succulents you want for events and she will set them aside/take care of them for you until the day of your event. She is also very knowledgeable about the plants and in general has a good energy and easy to talk to. The location is behind a gated area, so you need to call the number to get in. Honestly, I'm not into this artsy fartsy flower crap, but my friend Jennifer C. is into that, so one bright Sunday afternoon I told my friend that I would take her into Waimanalo to look at some of this flowery stuff that she was looking for. Located on a back road in Waimanalo, you can find this business called - "Once Again Succulents". I must say, finding this flower/plant store could be rather difficult if you don't have access to a GPS device............believe me, as you drive to look for this business, you'll end up eventually driving on some dirt road until you find this flower/plant farm. Once you find this place, I must say this flower/plant farm sure has some cute artsy fartsy flowery stuff, and the lady who works here (I think her name was Lynn), sure knows her plants, and was very knowledgeable & friendly! My friend had to have her ceramic pots drilled out (they can do that for you for a nominal fee), and she also picked up a few succulent plants. Looks like these succulent plants don't require a lot of water (which it is good thing) especially if you're a person who doesn't have too much time to water plants. Lol! The nice thing about coming here is if you have a large party or something, and wanna make cool small party favors with a succulent plant, they have it here, and they will sell it to you in bulk. Hands down the best nursery to get your succulents; especially if you are getting them as party favors. My gf and I came here to pick out some succulents for her bridal shower. Lynn was amazing! She's extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and helpful. The prices are reasonable and they have a vast variety for selection. On top of that, they held our succulents for a whole month prior to the shower and nursed them. Amazing!!! Driving Tip: We got a little lost heading here. I first was introduced to Once Again succulent plants at Windward Mall when I purchased some plants for a friend. Then a few weeks later I met a friend for breakfast. She said after breakfast she was going to Once Again to look at plants. She asked me if I wanted to go. I said sure. So I drove all the way from Wai'alae to Waimānalo. The location of Once Again is not that easy to find. There is a sign off to the side of the road but I wasn't sure where to go and I almost ended up at Uncle's house on the right.. lol I turned down a dirt road and travelled behind homes and other businesses that were surprisingly back there. Once you pull up you see all of the beautiful succulent plants. All sizes and varieties. Lynn greeted me and began educating me on the different succulents. She was so nice, knowledgeable and patient. I also met Genevieve who was also very nice, friendly & patient. She was helping people who were making succulent arrangements. There are empty cups, bowls and bottles on the back table that can be used for arrangement making. You just pay for the container and cost of whatever plants you want in your arrangement. You can sit, relax and create. I mentioned to Lynn that I wanted to take the plants I purchased back to Vegas. She showed me how to pack the plants and assured me that they would be okay either in hand carry or mail because the plants they get get mailed to them all the time. I wanted to be sure about mailing the plants so I called Once Again. I called several times during business days & hours. No one answered. I left messages. No one returned my call. I was disappointed about them not returning my call. Overall Once Again has great succulent plants. Lynn and Genevieve were nice. I would purchase plants again if they were staying in Hawai'i. Ok wifey (yes, I'm her FPO) has this "brilliant" idea for Christmas gifts this year since it's her turn. We take turns making/figuring out gifts for the family (mainly my family). Last year I made a pair of DIY wine bottle tiki torches for each family. This year she decided she wants to give everyone a succulent since it's really hard to kill even for those who has a black thumb. She wanted to have it hang by a suction cup in a holder attached to a window. Guess who got suckered (ba dum dum) into figuring out how to make the holder? Yup!... Me! Brilliant idea, babe! Soooo we had to find a place that had a big variety of succulents and kinda close by. She remembered one vendor that was at the Sunday's Windward Mall farmers market and found out they're in Waimanalo! BONUS!! Sooo we went on a lil field trip the other day to Nalo town. I was getting a lil worried about not finding the place, but wifey and her faith in the map from Yelp helped... A LOT! It's up the street from OK Poultry on the left (keep goin up) then you have Geobunga on the left (yes, keep goin across the 4 way stop sign). Now here's where you start slowing down a wee bit. The driveway is on the right and there's a security gate with a keypad for the entrance. Drive straight (we'll, relatively straight) to the back of the loooooong driveway. Wifey is right, there's a bunch of potholes & crazy kalohe roosters that think they all that. I wanted to yell out the window "eh! I know how fo make chicken adobo! No ack!" Hehehe. But alas, we were in Optimus (not the truck) and the windows were up. Doh! Ok, as you go up a lil rise in the road, there is a sign for Once Again pointing to the right. About another 20-30 yards in on the right you'll see all their succulents under their shaded tarp tents. Park on the right in front of the tents. The ladies there are sooo helpful & knowledgeable about how to care for the succulents. Prices start at $3 for the 2" pots and goes up with the size of the pot/succulent. They do have smaller succulents and they come in the 1" size, but you'd have to buy the full tray (I think, you might want to double check on that). Oh! Wifey asked if the prices at the farmers market is applicable at that location and they said no. They only take several trays with select varieties to the farmers market. They have a huge selection at their main location. I think there were about 6-8 big tables full of mostly 2" pots. I never knew there were so many different kinds of succulents. Did you know there are some that do better indoors than outdoors? Nope?... we'll me neither! Did you know you need to let the soil/medium dry out completely before watering them again?? Uhhh yeaaah!! Any succulent lovers in Oahu must come visit Once Again! All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating and you will definitely get a more personalized and intimate experience versus going to a chain like Home Depot. Let me start by saying that although they are usually open on Fridays and Saturdays (based on Yelp) we gave them a call since we were nearby at another nursery who told us about this place. They happened to be on site doing some work so they told us to come on over. How awesome! As soon as we walked through the entrance, we were greeted by Genevieve who let us sanitize our hands and gave my friend and I a shallow box to carry all of the succulents we wanted to buy. She gave us a quick tour of the price breakdown and the different types of succulents that were separated by numbered tables. Towards the front of the shop they have a lot of arrangements in very cute and unique containers. Some of them had crystals and fairy accessories! They answered all of my questions about taking care of succulents and showed me exactly what they use in their mixture soil. We learned that pre-covid, they used to hold workshops on the weekends but had to put it on hold due to the current situation. Prior to discovering succulents I literally had black thumbs! Heck...even my fake plants looked dead so I literally shied away from anything green that required sun, soil and water. Enter succulents - the ever so resilient death-proof plant that even I could not kill. I was hooked!! What started as a aesthetic desire has become a healthy obsession. Initially I bought the ugliest cactus - I figured that if I could keep this thing alive I'd be worthy to buy more. I talked to that prickly thing and encouraged it to live (I even wrote, "I will survive" as a prompt for it to do so). Fast forward 3 years and my cactus is gone (may it RIP) but I've gained a whole lot of knowledge from that experience. I didn't have a WebMD to consult why my death-proof cactus was withering away. Instead, I entered #succulents and lo and behold, tons of pictures and advice. But enough about my early failures! I discovered Once Again Hawaii on Instagram and on a whim, decided to go and visit their nursery. Finding the place was confusing! There's no signage and you will think you are lost (we were extremely lost)! I called Matt several times and finally after the third attempt I was able to find their nursery. If you google 41-829 Kakaina Street it'll take you down to a street where you will find many businesses that seem to be working out of warehouses, shacks and containers. Go straight down Kaikana Street until it dead ends and take a right. You'll find the nursery between Shipwreck Hawaii and a Mushroom farmer - no signage but you can't miss it. Once Again Hawaii is owned by Matt and Lynn. They were super helpful and so friendly! I found succulents that I've never ever seen on island before (not at your typical Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart or town nursery). As I was ooo-ing and ahhh-ing over all these new "finds" all I could think of was, "I definitely need a bigger yard!" I'm not (yet) big on naming all the succulents in their proper Latin names - other than knowing which ones I don't have and want to have. Prices were spot on and extremely fair. Matt also told me that he gives a returning discount to newbie gardeners, knowing that they will probably kill their first succulent. I really love that they took the time to go through various succulents and described how to propagate and care for my growing garden. Once Again Hawaii is a fairly new company (May 2014 I believe Matt said) but they are busy as heck! While we were there he was completing a massive order for a local company. He and his wife are extremely knowledgeable, creative (he was making planter boxes as well as cutting down wine bottles to upcycle as a carrier for the succulents) and just super friendly and accommodating. You'll find Once Again Hawaii in local farmer's markets selling their creations and succulents. They are offering a free succulent class this Saturday (3/14/15). I'm not sure if this is going to be an ongoing event but best believe I'm going to make that trek out there to pick up a few more plants as well as pick their brain some more about pruning and beheading succulents. Plant prices based on size, if you plan on making an arrangement, bring your "pot" to place your findings. Look for their pop up shops instead of visiting the farm. I am sooooo happy with all my purchases from Once Again and their pop-up store at Windward Mall. I went to both this last Saturday and had to practice some serious restraint not to buy everything I saw. They had containers, cut glass bottles, succulents and cactus, containers, potting medium and ornaments.... they had everything! Their selection was wonderful and they even offer custom glass cutting and sanding services if you bring in your own glass bottles! I even found the Chinese Money plants I have been searching for for the last 2 years, and these were the healthiest I have ever seen! At the Nursery I was so pleased to run into Lynn, she was always so helpful when I used to go to Geobunga. She knows her plants and is so helpful in potting/planting watering and light recommendations and is so helpful in assisting you select a plant that fits your home conditions. Awesome! What a cute place tucked away in Waimanalo. Yelp address brought me here without difficulty. I was told that there are a few who get a bit lost. For succulent lovers and wanna be lovers this place is great. The staff are very helpful. They explain what the plant likes, dislikes and if they are unsure of the plant's we'll-being/outcome, you may get a free succulent!! You may bring a container or recycled bottle (I will do this next time) and they will place the plant inside for you (there may be a small fee for this service). I'm excited to bring an old wine bottle. Prices are a little higher than I expected, however, I have been to other places that are known for their succulents and they were higher. My friend and I came here for the first time and had a wonderful experience. It was such a nice and peaceful day out in the country, specifically on this farm. It was nice and quiet and because no one else was there when we were, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We were pleasantly greeted by Lynn, who was nice and knowledgeable about the various species of succulents. It was like she gave us a personal tour and educational lesson on the plants and how to care for them. There are so many different ones to choose from...colors, sizes, shapes, etc. Their prices are really good! Lynn also showed us their selection of wooden planter boxes and ceramics pots/dishes. They also have a nice selection of crystals and other rocks/gems to ornate your arrangement. My friend bought a beautiful white crystal piece which was a great price, but one of those that they keep locked up since it cost more than the other smaller ones. I would definitely come back here for more succulents! They also cut glass bottles that can be used as a planter. Also, they service wedding and other events if you want succulents in lieu of or in addition to conventional flowers. Made a drive from the other side of the island to find this gem of a place! I was amazed by all the succulents they carried. You can really tell that they take good care of them! I was actually there to just buy a couple succulents, but my bf encouraged me to plant it there since I'm still pretty new at this. Mark helped us through the whole process and educated us on how to plant, how often to water, basically how to keep them alive lol. We ended up planting two sets. Mark gave us cards of reminders and contact info in case we needed help or had any questions. I ended up asking him a couple more questions and he was quick and helpful with his reply! If you're looking to get succulents for your wedding or party, you can either purchase boxes from them (they have a planter maker) or you can build and bring in. Once you have your boxes on site they will help with your vision and pick the right succulents for you as well as help with scaping your box garden and..... they will even baby sit your succulents until you need them (up to 2 months). My two BFF's Lily and Sherilyn brought me here to pick out some succulents to create an arrangement during Phase II of IV from my 10 hours and 40 minutes birthday celebration!!! How lucky am I? I'll just start off by saying the service here is excellent. They have rare/hard to find succulents and the staff is so amazingly helpful. I am so grateful for the service. The only reason it's not a 5 star rating are the prices. For the rare/hard to find succulents the prices are fine. But because they price all the plants by "the pot size" and not by the type (unless it's a rare one - they were $9 or 2 for 16) even common - easy to grow - small succulents were $3.00. It's not an ideal place to buy in bulk, my small tray which did include 4 rarer ones came out to $83.00. If you are looking for hard to find succulents - this is the place! But I recommend getting the other common species elsewhere - like Koolau gardens - larger starter succulents are usually $1.50-2.00. read more

'Tis the season and this season it's my turn to come up with the extended family's holiday cheer i.e. how to come up with gifts for a dozen-ish relatives without going into bankruptcy. It's really hard (at least for me) to do DIY for kids so I had to suck it up and buy toys ... I got it at Ross's. For the adults I came up with a brilliant (at least for me) idea. Flash back a week for my brilliant idea. FPO and I were entertaining a friend of mine from the mainland. We'll call him Patriots. Patriots Fan was born and raised in Boston and he currently lives in DC, but he's fanatical about all things Hawaii and visits at least once a year. During his recent trip FPO and I took him to the Windward Mall Farmer's Market and I happened across the stall for Once Again Hawaii. FPO and I had seen them at other events like the most recent Made in Hawaii Festival at the NBC. I've also heard they're at the Mililani Farmer's Market and Kamakana Ali'i. Their nursery is located in Waimanalo and is open 12-5 Wednesday through Sunday. Located on the right side of Kaka'ina Street, the nursery is up the street from OK Poultry but closer to Geobunga area. I used the Yelp app to get a basic idea of where Once Again Hawaii was located. The back roads of Waimanalo intersect a lot so there are at least three left turns from Kalanianaole Hwy that'll get you in the general vicinity. If you happen to miss the one the GPS gives, just keep the map open with the final destination in view and you'll figure out how to get there. Anyway, right side of Kaka'ina, there's a small sign for Once Again Hawaii at the turn. The road to the nursery is unpaved and very rocky. It feels like you're going through a small residential area then you start seeing other warehouse-type buildings and stripped for parts automobiles. Keep going. Once Again Hawaii is at the very back of the property. There's another sign at the very end of the road. Don't run over the roosters on your way in, they don't move real fast even with a car heading right at them. Once Again Hawaii has a small area to park and are located right next to a mushroom farm called Small Kine. I kid you not. At first FPO thought the sign for "Small Kine Parking" was a joke because the parking area really is small. The nursery is amazing! I had no idea there were so many different kinds of succulent. Or that, depending on the colors, there are different ways to care for them. The smallest succulents don't come in pots. The smallest pots start at $3 and go up depending on the size. The nursery doesn't do the 4 for $10 or 5 for $19 deals like they do at the farmer's markets. We were told it's because the variety at the nursery is so much larger. I believe it. It looked like at least a hundred different kinds. The people there were really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I ended up getting only a couple of the small succulents - one so I could measure the little pots and a second because I didn't want my succulent plant to get lonely. I went back the Windward Mall Farmer's Market for the thirteen plants I used for gifts. A couple things I learned about the nursery. When people buy in bulk ... centerpieces for a wedding kind of bulk ... they will hold on to the plants in a little cordoned off area. That way the wedding party doesn't have to worry about accidentally killing the plants before the big day. And if you bring 10 drink caddies (like the kind from McDonald's) they'll give you a plant for free. Once Again Hawaii is all about recycling and repurposing. I really like this company and their plants. If I manage to keep Thing One and Thing Two alive, I plan to go back for more... but I believe I'll take the truck rather than Optimus because of the dirt road and kamikaze roosters. Oh, and what was my brilliant idea for the relatives' Christmas presents? I got a variety of the succulents, made little wooden holders from scrap wood with a suction cup attached to them so the little planters could suction to glass windows. The workers are so friendly and succulent experts! If you ever need help on raising a succulent these are your people! I would always buy succulents either at home depot or Lowe's, but they would all die on me. The workers take the time to talk to you and answer all your questions. Also, most of the plants sold at the booths at local farmers market or night markets are beautiful and healthy! I haven't personally been to the nursery in Waimanalo, but based on the booths i've been at the local farmers market, they're amazing!! read more

Matt is one of the nice people! He came to the farm a little early, just for us. He showed us hot to create the potting soil, how to take care of the plants, & gave us a tour of the farm. All the plants were sooooo pretty! He even told me that if I'm looking to give the succulents away for Christmas, they can take care of my plants until it's ready to be given. I feel basic AF getting into the succulent scene but it's such a fun side project if you don't have a green thumb. I found Once Again on Yelp to buy a few plants for a terrarium I was hoping to build. Once Again attend all the major farmer's markets so I sought them out there. Okay, so they love their plants a lot. The staff is very knowledgeable and they will politely shut you down if you don't have proper means to care for their plants. That's a good thing! I ended up not getting anything but was so intrigued that I went to one of their workshops at their Waimanalo nursery. It was so educational! The owners, Matt and Lynn, are very nice and generous. They gave away many plants to the workshop attendees and many of their items are marked down making it a steal. They emphasize on repurposed everyday items into containers. We decided to order from them right there and then. We decided on which plants to purchase and the houses them for us and NO additional cost. They even replaced a few plants that didn't make it. They made genuine suggestions on which what plants don't have a great survival record. They even gave us the option to swap out a whole set of plants cause they felt like it wouldn't be a great fit with the ones we already picked out. Matt and Lynn is Amazing at what they do. Always happy to get a new baby succulent from this place. I first met them at Windward Mall open market. They have a large variety of succulents. Very well taken care of plants. I've also visited them out in Waimanalo. So much more to look at there! They are very welcoming and give you all the information you need about each plant you choose to take home. I told the lady at the nursery about a succulent I got from them awhile ago that wasn't doing so well. She gave me a new one for free with instructions on how to care for it. Absolutely love them! I feel bad I should have left a review sooner! I've been going to their farm for a few years now after first meeting them at the Mililani farmers market. Mark always answers all my questions & gives me helpful tips. Going to the farm it's s small entrance on the right and the sign is on a gate on the left, you just go straight down the driveway and you'll see it on the right. But there Liz is super sweet and again is super helpful! Check them out they offer all kinds of gorgeous succulents. It is so obvious that the staff here really cares about what they do. They seriously take the time to teaching you the proper care of your succulents. They know every plant by name...they know which work well with each other....etc. We look forward to taking care of the succulents we picked up today. This is succulent heaven?...seriously you can find everything you want. My girlfriend is now into succulents so I wanted to get her something different. We headed out to Waimanalo and surprisingly, it was easy to find. They are just a little further up the street from Geobunga! As we arrived, the facility is to the right of the "driveway"....it's a simple set up, tables of plants under a covered area and a little planting, workshop section. They quickly explained which tables housed plants for sale, which ones were customer orders and which ones had just been planted. they ranged from $3-6 primarily and then they had some specials ones that were more expensive. I recognized Lynn from a seminar she'd given at Geobunga. Her beautiful eyes are unforgettable. She is so nice and knowledgeable....Matt looked so familiar and I am still trying figure out where I know him from, ha ha. Matt arrived and explained the different kinds of succulents...he is so smart and knows all the fancy scientific names. I can't even pronounce them! Like everyone else says, Lynn and Matt are very generous with their knowledge and very kind in offering help even after we leave. I just bought a few plants and some potting soil...they have special kind that's made especially for succulents. They also have all kinds of cool containers that you can buy to plant your succulents in...really cool eclectic ones...btw if you have odd and ends dishes, teapots, etc, you can donate them to Once Again Hawaii... So now that I'm getting bitten by the succulent bug, let's see how I do. I'm really a vegetable "farmer" but will start with a few succulents and hope to head out there again! read more

First time at this spot. Lynn was so friendly and helpful. She explained to us about the plants, how to care for it, what to do and not to do. She even helped us plant our succulents in our pots. So bring your pots with you and a bag of soil is $6. Fills about 4 to 5 small size ceramic pots. I had a wonderful experience at this succulent farm. read more

So, I've always liked the saying "buy local", but I definitely only do it if it's affordable. I have to say they have great prices. There's also no compromise- the product is great if not better, and the service is great. The plants are always really healthy, some the best I have seen. The employees are also very knowledgeable and friendly. (I've been helped by the owner Matt and the employee Jen). They always let me know how they do best n how big they get. I also liked that they let me know how to separate them and create new babies. I haven't had the privilege of going down to the nursery, but I have made purchases at their stand at the windward mall farmers' market. They bring a great variety and the soil that's best for growing :) I first saw them online, and I recommend finding them on Instagram. They also have great ready made set-ups that would make great gifts. So far I've only purchased the small singles though. But, maybe when I get a better green thumb :) read more
