How did I not know about this place?! Then again, I'm not all that surprised... my cousins don't…read moreeven know about Frankie's and they lived their whole lives there! They've been around since 1979!!! "Frankie's Nursery presents quality fruit trees direct from the fruit tree specialists. We offer free consultation and a worldwide selection of the best tropical and subtropical fruit tree cultivars. We travel to many tropical countries seeking to introduce the finest promising cultivars available. Introduced trees are grown on our farm and propagated for release to the public, only after they exhibit their merit here in Hawaii. Discover the versatility and ornamental values that fruit trees can provide in landscaping your home or farm. At Frankie's Nursery we continue striving to provide you with the best cultivars since 1979" Visitors are welcome to explore the nursery ground, only where our tropical and subtropical fruit trees are for sale. We have a fruit stand selling our daily harvested fruits from our mature trees, and an assortment of homemade delicious tropical juices. Fruits for sale vary depending on seasons. For example, mangoes are primarily available in summer and durians are in the winter. Please call for more information on availability. Stolen from - https://www.frankiesnurseryllc.com/ Da wahine heard about Frankie's from one of her friends and was adamant about visiting the farm. So off the farm we went... Drive slow, not need to ruin your car, the road is a bit rough when you start going deep into the nursery. Frankie's is on the Windward side, but basically in the mountains. You really need to know where you are going, it's most definitely off the beaten path. Cell reception starts to get much weaker... almost non existent. There are a healthy variety of plants for you to purchase, Frankie's is after all a nursery. But the main focus of this trip was to try the exotic fruits. They sell a variety of exotic fruits from around the world. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and will gladly tell you about the fruits. They do have cut fruit platters for you to try, just make sure you bring a cooler bag, it's a journey onto itself to get here. There are few picnic tables in the back for you to enjoy fresh fruits, along with a hand washing station and a restroom. #ExoticFruits: ~ BLACK SAPOTE topped off with Whipped Cream - 5/5 Amazing. A MUST TRY! I never had anything like this. Nature's Chocolate Pudding!! ~ Exotic Fruit platter - 4.5/5 The platter changes on a regular basis... depending on availability and seasons. I never heard of some of these fruits. The best way to try a little of everything. Some of the fruits were delish, some very strange. I'd love to return and try some of the other fruits.

I never went to a plant nursery and this day I went to one, that In a beautiful way, had a secret…read moregarden affect to it... a somewhat gem of sorts. And never ever having been to the other side of the island for really much... I heard about this place from a friend of mines. And he needed to purchase some beautiful greenery for a side wall. AJ Bonner is the owner of Super Value Nurseries. And much of his planets are in the young range. It might be necessary to cultivate into the ground for preparation of needed growth. You won't find many fruit plants or any at all (perhaps that might change) but make sure to ask AJ and he will tell you who might have certain planets at other nurseries in Waimanalo. I was wondering about lemon trees, but he explained he doesn't have any fruit and entailed of nurseries that are nearby Waimanalo and that's helpful. I love this Nursery because while we spoke to AJ he had wildlife that he attracted. The fascination was that there was a Shama bird little purple black sheen with a tan orange belly that fluttered to him cause it knew he would have food. And AJ simply opened a container that was in his pocket and dumped out a few little worm grubs. It was fascinating... And I got to see a Native Bird land near where I was standing... a "Puuwilo" from the Elepio bird family... they would be in an area, an isolated from crowds area. I would make another visit soon not just for AJ's expertises in the plants but at least the fascination of seeing a few birds flutter close by. It's a lovely part of Waimanalo. And visit with AJ to get him to share these fascinations in his awesome plant nursery.

They answer calls and have what I need. Going there tomorrow. Will write more of a review later.read more
