There was a few with flower buds on them and most did not have. I did get the two that had and a couple of the ones that didn't. It's in a neighborhood so please be mindful and respectful of the area and where you are parking. Paula is super helpful and extremely nice, she wanted to help me find the plants my heart desired. Talking to her was such a treat, you can tell she enjoyed her plants and nursery. Looks like she is open on weekends 10am - 4pm. I was looking for some plants to take back to California with me and since it needs to be soil-less I had to make sure I was able to take the cuttings of the plant. Paula had a bunch I wanted to take back as her prices are extremely fair. I don't know about you guys but these days it's hard to come by plants where it's not completely overpriced. I was able to grab a couple hoyas and hopefully they survive the plane ride back! Thanks again Paula for the sweet plants, I'll be back for sure!

Situated way up a valley in the back of Hawaii Kai, the have a large amount of palms but mostly only the common varieties. ISAAC says the CRB is slowly moving onto other plants like bananas beside most palms trees now. I was able to score a COCOTHRINAX palm and small JATHROPHA podagrica, which I love for it's fat caudex and amazing orange flowers, both at relatively good prices. There are two other NUII nurseries we stopped at on this trip, which were disappointing but if in the area I'd certainly go back to Tropical Tree anytime.

I parked in their parking lot and started to walk around to check out what they had. I was immediately met by one of the owners and he asked me if he could help me find what I was looking for. I picked out a couple of large plants, and they loaded them into my truck for me. Great service and prices! I'll definitely be back.

Normally, I don't receive such a candid response from someone who is unknown to me and certainly not from someone who decided not to provide their name. Perhaps, the author of this email had the best of intentions, however the tone of the email was very condescending. I was disappointed in this response. I visited their website which I found to have been useful. Stopped here after searching Google…read more There was a aquaponic shop in kalihi which moved and I haven't actually tried finding it but I found this shop and it wasn't so bad. Pricing was decent, I got some grow plugs at 2 for $1 and also a heavy duty humidity dome. Fortunately I do a lot of aquascaping so I already had a plant light that can run on its own 24/7. First impression walking in, I thought the shop was closing, but apparently the owner is moving things around. Phew! There was also a customer before me who didn't seem to care that there was someone after him as he pulled the owner away to share pictures while I had already started to inquire on some items. Which was fine, I added that into my schedule that the shop might be busy or might not be. So I continued to walk around and learned that he also does mushroom cultures! Pretty awesome right? I proceed to pay and chatted up with the owner. He mentioned that lion mane cultures have to be ordered in advanced because they sell out before they even make it on the shelf. Crazy right?

I do have a friend who does have a fabulous garden green thumb and all has been doing a bit of hydroponics with a bit of media with trial and error, the gentleman here can answer all your questions and with plants like tomatoes growing freely is just a delight to see and wished I knew how. Not quite ready to give this an attempt, prices here are great and there is a lot to choose from as there's stacks of media and just knowing I do have places like this here in the Old Stadium Square near Niu Soft Serve though parking is limited it's very hopeful for me to start my garden one day. Abe & Nao are really great! They really know their stuff…read more We went looking for some ti and areca palms. They had a ton of different ti plants and lots of different sizes of arecas. The plants were really healthy and have done really well in our yard. We had to call them when we were having a problem with a few of the arecas, and Abe's dad came out and showed us how to take care of the ones we had planted a few months before and gave us some good suggestions for what to plant to finish off the landscaping of our yard. What service! A year plus on and the arecas are thriving thanks to their advice and we have had t trim back the ti and replanted the cuttings, more than doubling what we originally purchased. We bought a song of Jamaica about 6 months ago and have tried to keep it in a pot, but like all their other plants, it has done so well that we couldn't keep it contained. Definitely will be going back for any further plants we need. Not sure of their hours, but they are always open whenever we go. They are located on the right after the S curve when you go into Waimanalo from Kailua. You pass the first nursery on the corner (too expensive) and then there is one more nursery in the middle of the lane (Use tons of chemicals to get their plants out the door) and Green Flamingo is at the end. One of the best things about them is they try to grow their plants as naturally as possible, using very few chemicals or pesticides. Check'em out. You won't be disappointed.
