We were there with a large party, and the service was friendly, efficient, and impressively quick. I started with my favorite drink--a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives--and it was perfect. We also ordered the shrimp scampi flatbread to share, and it was absolutely delicious with great flavor. For my entrée, I had the short rib, which was cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and not overly salty. In fact, that was something our entire table commented on. Everything was well-seasoned without being too salty, and everyone in our group was very impressed with their meals. The only downside was parking. It was a bit difficult to find a spot, but there appeared to be a private party or event going on, so that likely contributed to the crowded lot. Overall, Nosh delivered excellent food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

The ambiance had a cozy, romantic vibe, making it a nice spot for a date night or a relaxed evening out. I can't believe I went this long without discovering this gem of a restaurant…read more From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional. Our waiter, Steve, was incredible, and the entire staff couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. I believe Rich, the owner, stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was perfect, which added such a personal touch. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, like stepping onto the set of an old-world Italian movie. The soft Italian music, warm lighting, and elegant atmosphere made for a perfect dining experience. The drinks were spot on. I had two Belvedere vodkas on the rocks with martini olives, and they were perfectly prepared. The specials all sounded tempting, but the regular menu offers more than enough outstanding choices, with an impressive selection of pasta, chicken, veal, and seafood dishes. We started with the Insalata Mista, featuring romaine, Boston lettuce, chicory, radicchio, tomatoes, and anchovies, along with roasted peppers and anchovies. I can never get enough anchovies. For our entrées, we shared a bone-in chicken special served with a rich Gorgonzola cream sauce, and a simple but perfectly executed linguine with garlic and oil. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the most satisfying. Dessert was outstanding--a slice of rainbow cake served with zabaglione, fresh blueberries, and whipped cream, accompanied by two flawless cappuccinos. Yes, the food was outstanding. Yes, the service was outstanding. And yes, the atmosphere was outstanding. But what really sets this place apart is something that's hard to describe: the vibe. It's warm, authentic, welcoming, and just feels old world special. Years ago, my favorite restaurant on Long Island was Caracalla on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset. Sadly, it burned down in 2013, and I've been searching ever since for a restaurant that could fill that void. Nothing ever did--until now. Sempre Vivolo has officially earned that spot. It has become my new favorite restaurant on Long Island, and I can't wait to go back.

I spoke to a woman in the bathroom and she said even if you don't have a reservation, you can always find a spot on the grass or chairs. There's plenty of room to hang out. Our server Les was incredible! You can tell when you have a great experienced waiter that is truly good at their job and love what they do! Pay him whatever he wants and never let him go! He truly made the dining experience above and beyond. I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc and he asked me if I wanted a glass or a bottle and I told him I couldn't drink a bottle because I had to drive home. He told me if I was gonna have two glasses. It would end up being about equal to the bottle price and that I could take the rest of the wine home! What a nice surprise, and the fact that he pointed out made me feel like he goes above and beyond for his customers! Now let's talk about the food! I was in a party of three and they had ordered the appetizer sandwich for the table which was gigantic! Both of the other guests love the sandwich, but I didn't try it because I do not like prosciutto. The truffle chips were fantastic; I'm still thinking about them and I didn't even know I liked truffle! I ate 90% of them. The portions are massive but in a good way because the food is exceptional! One guest was so full from the sandwich that she opted to not order an entrée I ordered the margarita flatbread and it had to be over a foot and a half long. I ended up taking half home and my husband ate it and said it was delicious as well. The other guest ordered the meatballs and I tasted them and they were quite delicious. By the time the meal was over we left with half a sandwich half a flatbread and some extra meatballs. For dessert: we got a llimoncello flute and I got the largest lemon beautifully presented with lemon sorbet! I told us I don't usually take pictures of my food, but this was photo worthy! The wine was one of my favorite Sauvignon Blanc that I've ever had in my life! We will definitely go back for the food and definitely will be purchasing the wine again! 4/5 food 10/5 for the service and ambience Thank you for a wonderful experience on a beautiful afternoon! Unfortunately, things have definitely changed. The vibe that once made this place special just isn't there anymore. On a Friday night, the atmosphere feels flat, and even the lighting could use some work (Too Bright) it would benefit from being dimmed to create a more inviting and energetic setting. The staff doesn't seem as engaged as they once were, and sadly, the food isn't hitting the same either. The biggest disappointment, however, has been the music. The DJs don't seem to know how to read the crowd. When most of the room is sitting down and barely even bobbing their heads, it's probably time to switch things up and get some energy flowing. The one bright spot is Mike behind the bar. He's still on point, keeps the drinks coming, and provides the level of service that keeps customers happy. I truly enjoyed this place in the past, which makes it even more disappointing to see it heading in this direction. I'm hoping management takes notice and brings back the atmosphere that made people want to keep coming back.

It's refreshing and fascinating to see the work of the staff at this place. During this past weekend, knowingly fully well that was a long weekend, we took a change and showed up at the Commack location, as we have been hearing fantastic things about this place. WE tried to make a reservation for 7:30pm but were told over the phone by a "hostess" that the manager would do his best to accomudate us as soon as possible, to check in after our arrival, although could take a bit of time, as they no longer were confirming reservations for hour, and for sure they could confirm us at 8:30pm. Because of the positive feedback we have been getting from our friends, WE took a change. As we arrived around 7:25pm. anyone educated could see that the place was packed. To our surprise they had valet parking which was an added plus. As we made our way inside and gave our name, shortly there after as we were getting a drink by the bar, we were greeted by the Manager, a young energetic Man, that explained could be a while to be fitted but to please enjoy a drink that he would maintain us in mind. The place was a bit loud, but lets be real, it was packed, and we ordered some red sangria. We could see the brigade of workers, from the bartenders, to the waiting staff, mantaining control of the establishment. Noticeable without a doubt, was the Manager mantaining control of the seating and tables. After about 15 Minutes, he again checked in with our group of six people and we were surprised that he told us that they would have a table for us in a few more minutes. we also noticed that he was touching base and greeting other costumers and thank the ones departing. At the 20 minute we were escorted to a nice round table were the best of this place came thru. Being of European decent, the authentic smell and flavor of the food, from the Tapas, have to mention the "pulpo" earlier recommended by the manager, as well as the dates were delicious. Ordering a Paella for 4 and a veal shop along wit ha skirt stake, lets, say we were surprised by the pace of the place. Our Server and even support staff was professional and courteous. As we enjoyed more of the mazing Sangria and our meals, again the professionalism of the manager coming to check on us, made our experience extraordinary. We ended the night with some deserts and the pistachio cake would be recommended to anyone. This place rocks, certainly their future will be bright and my group is already of going back. Sangria 71 is a great addition to our local gastronomic area. Kudos to the staff, the manager and the ownership for having vision and capacity of handling the crowds. For anyone reading, I highly recommend this restaurant. I too have read some inferior posting about this place, they are not illustrative of top quality of service and food served at this place. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. read more

Look, in my opinion as well as my wife's, this place has it all. Great staff, (we had Ricardo and he was awesome!) great ambiance and most of all, great food. Yes, they have the standards you would expect but, they have the underground other side you really need to experience. Now, for first timers, let the Server help you. They will be more than happy to explain the different experiences that you could embark on. Trust me, they will be upfront with you. You will want to try everything but alas you can't. Therefore I went with dishes that I know from other restaurants as well as my talents. Hands down, my new place. My wife loves fish and they were able to make here very happy, notice I said very happy! I'm a paella freak and it was spectacular. I had roasted Octopus tapas it too was phenomenal. The Sangria is real not that over sweet sludge. Even the beginning bread and dip was great! My wife had a stuffed sole, veggies, home made potato chips and god knows what else and it was all good.....no great! Desert is not the standard here, most of it is made on premises and we sampled some and it was great as well. If you're a flan freak, better get there now! So, as you can gather, we loved the place a glad a place like Sangria 71 is in our neighborhood! Although, I don't think my doctor will be too happy but that's just too dam bad! Ask for Ricardo but I will tell you the whole staff was great, very attentive even if it's not their station! I have to say Ricardo took the time to walk us through and explain all their offerings! We loved him. Get there. Oh, I understand that the bar is another great experience. The atmosphere is really nice and the restrooms were as well (my wife said so. :) My brother and I will be hitting this place for lunch. My friends tell me lunch time is also awesome! read more

Ok I'll start the good, pulled up, parking girl very nice, big smile, hostess very nice, moved our table because the tables neighbors where very loud. On to the bad, server was simply awful, he was rude and short with us. Took forever for him to get to us, drinks took forever, when the food came out the food runner didn't know where he was going, put our app down then came back a minute later and said don't think that's yours, app was ok at best, entrees came out, I'll 1st say my wife's filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the price for 2 of them was great, she did how ever have to ask our sever whom we never saw where her side of veggies where, he acted like he had no clue what she spoke of. On to my dish, well I simply couldn't eat it, this coming from a man who eats anything, the shrimp and calamari tasted as it's pre cooked and just heated up, dish had no flavor. The bus boy came to wrap our food and asked if I had a problem with mine so I told him it was terrible, his response was I'll tell your waiter, server came over and said nothing. I was not trying to complain, would of paid for the dish and gone on my way, the server then came back asking if it was ok so I told him it was not. I believe this is all because of a very hard working, very good bus boy. The manager then came over saying all the right things, he's so sorry what can he do. He's a good manager. He took the dish off the check which I never asked. I've run restaurants for many years maybe it was just an off night and I never ever, ever left a bad reviews but I just couldn't get the crappy server out of my head. Leaving door people said have a nice night, parking girl still with big smile.. maybe I just ordered the wrong thing and maybe my server just was having a really, really bad night.. read more

Sangria 71 in Commack is a great place to enjoy flavorful Spanish and Latin-inspired dishes in a lively, upbeat setting. The ambience is warm, colorful, and energetic, creating the perfect environment for a fun night out. Whether you're dining with family, meeting friends, or celebrating something special, the atmosphere makes the experience feel festive from the moment you walk in. The service is good and adds to the overall positive experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful without being pushy. They check in regularly, offer solid recommendations, and keep things moving even when the restaurant is packed. Drinks arrive promptly, plates come out hot, and everything feels well-coordinated. It's clear they work hard to make sure guests feel taken care of. The food is flavorful and satisfying. The tapas are a great way to start, with plenty of options that are perfect for sharing. The paella is well-seasoned and generously portioned, and the entrees are full of rich, bold flavors. And of course, the sangria lives up to the name. It's refreshing, fruity, and the perfect match for the dishes. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared. While the experience is very enjoyable overall, certain small details keep it from being a full five stars. The noise level can get a bit high during peak times, and some dishes can take longer to come out when it's crowded. But these are minor issues in an otherwise strong dining experience. With good service, a fun ambience, and delicious food, Sangria 71 in Commack is a solid four-star restaurant that's absolutely worth a visit if you're craving vibrant flavors and a lively atmosphere. read more

I think is the worst Spanish (Spain ) restaurant . The owner is look don't have to much interest for the Custemers , food and service . I had a dinner a couple days ago to the new place . First the attitude for the server was very .... Unprofessional. We had patatas brava which was no crispy , cold and no paprika . The brava sauce was a joke . After we had tortilla española .... Guys that was omelette , and gamba al ajillo .... With I don't know what kind of sauce but not the traditional . Arroz negro ....... I was asking is is bomba rice and they say yes .... And actually was a regular rice with no squint ink and was with a lot stock ( no dry ) and the server respond me " oh you don't ask to have the paella dry " !!!!! We don't have to talk about Socarrat ....the skirt steak and lamb chop marinade in a same way ( with a lot of garlic ) Is a shame of Spanish restaurant . Guys you can check on Internet the the traditional recipe. read more

I recently held my daughter's baby shower at Sangria 71, Commack. The beautiful dining room, which is elegantly dressed, is the perfect spot for a private affair. I have been at Sangria71 Several times. The place at times gets busy, that is demonstrative of the quality of the food and service this Restaurant brings to the area. I would highly recommend it to anyone that want to have an amazing experience of continental cuisine of Spain. By the way, read a few reviews, and the unfairness of the quantity and portion size is completely and utterly WRONG. As for the Staff, only people that have limit scope of understanding can express negativity, they demonstrate professionalism and the leadership of management is visible and highly demonstrated by the fast pace of the local. Think of that same pizza crust being served at Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar. And they're commanding such high prices! All these 4-5 star reviews, what am I missing? We're going to see at show at Jones Beach so I suggested something close to my sister in laws house. I never been so I suggested Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar based on past Yelp reviews. Lets' back up. -Atmosphere? 10 out of 10. The bar and inside restaurant looks amazing. We chose to sit outside, its a beautiful night. -Parking? I was able to park out front, on the street. -Drinks? I had a pretty good cocktail, Peach Bourbon Lemonade made with Bourbon and Peach Schnapps. -Wait staff? Our waitress was attentive and all of the waiters kept our water glasses full and removed our finished plates. My wife & I always get a pizza and a salad to split between us. I ordered for us the Poached Pear Salad. Topped with crumbled gorgonzola, chopped pecans, and poached pears. This was a nice summer-y salad. I liked it, it was a nice starter but $18 bucks?? First time here and the pizza just turned me off. I would have changed it up if I had to start over, maybe a meat & cheese platter? There's too much competition in the area, the small plates are full entree prices and we were served yucko pizza.

The calamari was fantastic. We simply ordered fried, but they had other options. For my entree, I ordered the spicy rigatoni and OMG - it was WAY too spicy. My mouth was on fire. They were able to make me a new dish and put the spice in a separate bowl. This is the way to go going forward. My daughter enjoyed her penne with marinara and my husband emptied his dish. The owner came out to say hi to us. He was very nice. We were able to see fish in the lake which was fun! We will absolutely be back.

The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and perfect for celebrating with family. They had a live singer who was incredibly talented and really made the night! She interacted with everyone, got the patrons involved, had us singing and laughing, and was just genuinely so nice and fun. It turned dinner into an entire experience and made our birthday celebration that much more memorable. And the food was very, very good! Everything came out looking great, the portions were generous, and we enjoyed all of our dishes. The drinks were just as impressive--the bartender definitely knows what they're doing because our cocktails were DELICIOUS. Between the great food, amazing drinks, live music, singing, laughs, and overall energy, we had such a good time. This is the kind of place where you come for dinner and end up staying because you're having too much fun. We absolutely cannot wait to go back!

When the items we ordered were delivered I informed the server we were missing something, and he just stated back " well you only said 1" we reminded him exactly the way we asked for both items and he just shook his head, rolled his eyes and left....after that he decided to not come near the table anymore - the place was empty it was a Wednesday at 5 pm, we just asked any other server for utensils that were missing or napkins. Finally he decided to come serve us for dessert....and gave us wrong items. At that point we just decided to leave and forget about this place, which is such a shame because we had travelled about 30 mins to go there and had high expectations. Unfortunately service does matter even if a place serves good food and is decorated nicely.

The skirt steak was better the first time I went. This time it was not as tender and it was rolled up vs the first time it was nicely cut and presented. My daughter's carne asada was the better choice because it was nicely sliced and a more tender cut of meat. The appetizers were really delicious, we had nachos, baked clams and calamari. The nachos are not on the menu but when we asked for it, they made it for us. For dessert the standout was their flan and chocolate lava cake. The place was a little chilly inside. Our water glasses were frequently refilled and service was very friendly.

Choosing Branzinos as the restaurant to celebrate the occasion was 110% the PERFECT choice! The ambiance was relaxed and we were very comfortably seated. The service was INCREDIBLE! Our server Arianna was kind, courteous, attentive, and had perfect recommendations. The menu was expansive and the food was AMAZING! We recommend the fillet branzino. I had the short rib grilled cheese which was unlike anything I've ever had. The baked and raw oysters were perfect and the calamari was "melt in your mouth." We arrived for an early dinner on the very first day of their new weekly specials, only to find they were already completely out of key ingredients. We wanted to try the French onion soup with gnocchi, but they were out of gnocchi. Another person in our group wanted the short rib sandwich, but they were out of short rib. To top it off, when one of us ordered a lychee martini, they were out of lychees as well. Running out of core items for advertised specials right at the start of a new week and early in service is a major operational oversight. The food itself was hit-and-miss: * Starters: The Clams Casino came in a broth rather than baked; while the broth was decent, the dish overall really lacked flavor. The fried calamari was tender, but the breading was damp, soggy, and fell right off into a mushy texture. The Thai chili mussels felt lazy, tasting like they were just tossed in a generic bottled sauce. * Mains: The steak sandwich was excellent, featuring high-quality beef. The vodka sausage pizza was fine, but it was far too dry with barely any sauce on it--honestly, something I could easily beat at home. The spinach and artichoke ravioli tasted good, but the portion size was very small for the price point. Between missing half our initial order choices, mediocre food execution, and an unnecessary valet service crammed into a tiny strip mall parking lot, it was a disappointing visit. Sadly, we won't be returning.
