Nicest lady serving at Sandwich Express in Plainview NY off Washington Avenue and Manetto Hill. Place is adequately clean, good deli food selections/hot and cold, self- service coffee and add new snacks as play a crisp and pork grinds.Adequate parking. Note/Tip- place is on around corner in shopping lot.

    Sandwich Express Breakfast Special $4.75

I visited here the other day on my way into work. I was craving a breakfast sandwich. I walked in and was greeted by Dana with a kind smile. I placed an order for a croissant with eggs over easy, sausage, and Swiss cheese. It came out nice and hot. It included a drink but I didn't need one as I had already ordered my coffee. I used card and it came up to $5.44. Not too bad, being that I could have gotten a coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or orange juice with it. As I waited, we had a friendly conversation, as it was my first time there. They have outdoor seating and a large parking lot. It is a little hard to find, but now that I know it's there, I'll definitely be back! She offered me a menu to look over for my next visit. It is extensive, descriptive, and includes catering information. Good experience all around. An egg sandwich isn't the most pleasant thing to look at, but it sure was delicious!

What a sad time to be a New York sports fan. It's like, watching paint dry in a prison, with no windows. Why is this relevant to "Sandwich Express" you ask? Well I'll tell you. I was leaving a sports bar after another Giants loss and drove past this deli. I figured, if I can't enjoy football, I might as well enjoy food, but it had to wait for another day, I was licking my wounds and already ate. So the following day I ventured back to the deli. The parking was decent enough. Going inside it's definitely narrow and has a standard deli look. They had a fair amount of drinks as well, but I wanted breakfast. At the counter, the staff were friendly, but no one really stood out. They took my hungry man order and got it back to me quick. I paid and I was out the door. At first glance I noticed the size. The hero was big, which is perfect! Next the bread. It seemed like it was that hard Italian bread, I'm not too big on. Last, I asked for a hungry which comes with sausage; and guess what? They forgot my sausage. No matter the hero was loaded. Once I bit it, I was right about the tough bread but wrong to judge. The sandwich was good. I really liked it. They definitely gave me enough runny eggs and cheese. I was satisfied, trust me. Would I go back? The answer, yes! However, I would ask if they had soft heroes and check, that I got the sausage I paid for. I mean come on, I need a win somewhere! I'm not getting that from the Giants!

Does this look like a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon to you?

Just no. We ordered breakfast and I specifically requested a grilled cheese with bacon. They gave me a hard roll with unmelted cheese and bacon. Why? Who doesn't know how to make a grilled cheese? Never again.

Since my company has moved to plainview recently I have stopped at sandwich express a handful of times. Most of them for breakfast and once for lunch. My lunch choice was actually something I asked them to make off their menu since they only had a handful of items. I asked them to make a simple chicken cutlet sandwich with some lettuce, tomatoes and all that good stuff. I was satisfied but wasn't anything crazy that I would be coming back to. My main review is in regards to the breakfast. The first few times I would get a sausage egg and cheese on a roll and it was pretty good. Then I switched to get it on a wrap and it was significantly less food. Here's the catch tho. When I started getting the wrap it I was being charged less so it worked out. Now it's a little bit different because the last few times I would say how I could get a coffee for the same price but then it wouldn't actually come out the same price and once I got an orange juice instead and it seem to have gone bad. Overall, food is not anything special and you honestly do not know what you might get charged for it. Will not be coming back since I have given this place a decent amount of tries.

Chicken and rice soup and my enormous sandwich, still wrapped

It started so easily. I asked Plainview Dads who had the best sandwiches. A bunch of guys said Sandwich Express so I had to try it. Ho-Lee-Cow! Now, I know one of my photos has soup, and the soup was good, but that's not why you're reading this. That sandwich, man oh man. Let's start with size. It's about the same as my forearm. Something that big and full of meat, for that price, are you kidding me? Yeah, value from the start. Okay but how does it taste, right? These are definitely high quality meats. So good. Just so very good. My tongue is doing a happy dance over here. And thats just the Cappy Sandwich. Definitely need to go back and work a lot of the menu. This is my new place, hands down, call it game over!!

Where's the beef? Take a look this hamburger. The patty is half the size they used to be and hockey puck dry. This is pathetic.

Absolutely horrible. We ordered food at work for myself and my coworkers, and not one of us were able to enjoy it. The chicken tasted old, dry, and had a metallic smell. Nobody could finish their meal. It's a shame we were starving for so long and had to wait for something so unappetizing. I wish this could have been refunded, because at least pizza would have been edible.

The inside is very millennial style with the grey and black ambiance. It's pretty open spatially and there's a menu on the wall. They make their own brewed iced tea. Their sandwiches are pretty clear in description. I dislike that the chicken sandwich pastrami sauce has pork in it, so anyone who avoids pig products like the plague needs to inform them when making the order. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The bread didn't cause my lips to flare up like other yeasts do. They didn't go heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The workers came out to greet me and give me a tour even though it's pretty self explanatory. After the drinks refrigerator and sandwiches menu, there are three additional menus for sides, fruit/veggie smoothies and protein smoothies. I ordered a chocolate protein smoothie and the cups they have are larger than the portions they serve. They apologized like it was an inconvenience to me, but actually I was happy that I didn't have to worry about any overflow or spillage. I think it's great that it's a tad bigger. I also bought a pan de nata to try. They forgot to add the cinnamon, but it didn't need it. It was done to perfection. Bakers of All Nations in Mineola now has some good competition. On the walls surrounding the smoothie bar and dining area there's a mural that explains the type of cuisine you're getting and about the chef's travels. It's kind of neat. Happy eats!

It is rare that we get out this way on a weekday, but since we were, we had to come try out Ralphie's after hearing the raves from my Yelp buddies Christina & Donald J. and Ray N. We were not disappointed. Look for the daily specials board because everyday has something unique cooked up by the chef. I saw the shelf of Chicken Empanadas and knew I had to have one or three. These are some of the biggest ones I've ever had and tasty too. From the specials, we also ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet, which was topped with Pesto Cream Sauce served over rice and the Boneless Spanish Grilled Chicken Thighs served with rice & beans and sweet plantains. These 2 we saved for dinner. For lunch, my wife & I shared a Seared Ahi Tuna Steak BLT sandwich with Wasabi Mayo. This sandwich hit all the notes. The Ahi steak was almost an inch thick and perfectly seared! They were also generous with the bacon. It was just a great sandwich all around. My only regret is that we mostly get out this way on the weekends, when Ralphie's is closed, but now that my son works out on the Island, I'm going to have him come by here to pick up dinner more often!

Not out of a jar, not made with canned or frozen clams. I'm talking fresh clams in the shell cooked up for this sauce. I have not had a white clam sauce that me or my dad did not make that did not need doctoring up as we call it. I ate half my portion before I realized I didn't even add hot sauce. That's how good this was. This is my 2nd favorite empanada ever now. Rice, Beans & Cheese. Oh my Gawd, and it has no meat in it so you know it had to be good for me to say that. Stuffed Pork Chop!!! So dayum good son wouldn't share but he did let me taste it. Never a bad meal, I swear! 5-8-2025 Each time I come here I swear I found my favorite dish! Today It was the Filet of Sole Francaise, Yellow Rice & Roasted Cauliflower. Perfection! The sole was not too lemony but lemon pronounced in a creamy butter sauce. Cauliflower was cooked perfectly with a nice bite to it. Must Try! I'll put it up against any other restaurant that you have been to that served this dish. 3-5-2025 I am in love with Ralphie, Tony, Matt & the guys. No, seriously I am! They exude vibrant passion & caring. For people & their food. I let Ralphie or Tony choose what to give me. Nothing is a wrong choice. Last time it was Chicken Sausage with Tomato Salad & Mozzarella on a hero suggested by Ralphie. I'm not a Chicken Sausage fan.....usually. They have a way of changing my mind on things. This sandwich was one of them. Absolutely delicious! Today Tony picked. Fried Sole on Sweet Roll, Tartar Sauce, lettuce & Cheese. Then he added a spicy beef hot dog that had cheese in it. Threw some mustard & sauerkraut on top. Perfection! So do yourself a favor. Come by for anything they are serving. Especially in the winter. The soups are homemade and always a home run! Dayum I love these guys!!! 5-17-2025

The Godzilla (crispy pork, cabbage/carrot slaw, with tonkatsu sauce) was packed with thin slices of perfectly fried pork. The tonkotsu sauce was slightly sweet and tangy, and the carrot and cabbage slaw was very complementary to the plethora of pork. The only change I would make next time is perhaps adding some onions (personal preference) and ask for some extra sauce. The Crispy Cuban was also fantastic spin to the classic. Again, packed with crispy pork, the sandwich was then filled with the perfect amount of ham, melty Swiss, and mustard. Nothing felt heavy. I wish I had seen the list of sides before we ordered. The homemade tater tots look amazing. Before we left, my boyfriend and I grabbed a menu and have decided to check off each one we order every week go. You can bet we will be returning soon!
