Gourmet food from a food truck by the side of the highway??? Ralphie's has got the mojo! They are set up in the parking lot of the Fabric Mill store and are only open M-F from 6am-6pm. It is rare that we get out this way on a weekday, but since we were, we had to come try out Ralphie's after hearing the raves from my Yelp buddies Christina & Donald J. and Ray N. We were not disappointed. Look for the daily specials board because everyday has something unique cooked up by the chef. I saw the shelf of Chicken Empanadas and knew I had to have one or three. These are some of the biggest ones I've ever had and tasty too. From the specials, we also ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet, which was topped with Pesto Cream Sauce served over rice and the Boneless Spanish Grilled Chicken Thighs served with rice & beans and sweet plantains. These 2 we saved for dinner. For lunch, my wife & I shared a Seared Ahi Tuna Steak BLT sandwich with Wasabi Mayo. This sandwich hit all the notes. The Ahi steak was almost an inch thick and perfectly seared! They were also generous with the bacon. It was just a great sandwich all around. My only regret is that we mostly get out this way on the weekends, when Ralphie's is closed, but now that my son works out on the Island, I'm going to have him come by here to pick up dinner more often! read more

Not out of a jar, not made with canned or frozen clams. I'm talking fresh clams in the shell cooked up for this sauce. I have not had a white clam sauce that me or my dad did not make that did not need doctoring up as we call it. I ate half my portion before I realized I didn't even add hot sauce. That's how good this was. This is my 2nd favorite empanada ever now. Rice, Beans & Cheese. Oh my Gawd, and it has no meat in it so you know it had to be good for me to say that. Stuffed Pork Chop!!! Today It was the Filet of Sole Francaise, Yellow Rice & Roasted Cauliflower. Perfection! The sole was not too lemony but lemon pronounced in a creamy butter sauce. Cauliflower was cooked perfectly with a nice bite to it. Must Try! I'll put it up against any other restaurant that you have been to that served this dish. 3-5-2025 I am in love with Ralphie, Tony, Matt & the guys. No, seriously I am! They exude vibrant passion & caring. For people & their food. I let Ralphie or Tony choose what to give me. Nothing is a wrong choice. Last time it was Chicken Sausage with Tomato Salad & Mozzarella on a hero suggested by Ralphie. I'm not a Chicken Sausage fan.....usually. They have a way of changing my mind on things. This sandwich was one of them. Absolutely delicious! Today Tony picked. Fried Sole on Sweet Roll, Tartar Sauce, lettuce & Cheese. Then he added a spicy beef hot dog that had cheese in it. I drove past this hotel a few times and noticed "Ralphie's Crossroads Cafe." It's not a traditional restaurant, but an outdoor experience. I parked at the hotel and made my way over for some food. There were two people ahead of me, while I waited. I looked at the incredible outdoor setting. There was seating and grass in view. While waiting more people jumped on line. I knew this was the right place. Once I got to the counter, I noticed how well the staff treated the customers. They were very friendly. I was to treated to the same courtesy. So I felt great about ordering. I asked for a burger and fries. They said they can do the burger, but they don't have fries. After looking over the menu, I decided on the potato salad instead of other items. I watched then make may burger fresh and top it with fresh vegetables. I was impressed with the size of the burger. Only one thing hurt during the payment. One, the price was a bit steep and two, the charge extra when you use a card. I figured with all the people here, the food was special, so I stopped my hesitation and paid. I'm glad I did! Potato salad is difficult to make at restaurants at times, however, here, they nailed it! I couldn't believe how good it was. I almost went for more, but I decided to pace myself. Next was the burger. I can report, it was better than any chain burger and definitely better than my little brother's BBQ burger (don't tell him I said that, he's sensitive). To describe it, the meat was juicy, the lettuce crispy, they put the right amount of seasonings and I wish I knew what kind of bun that was because it was delicious! I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this! Now, I have to come again. This place is worth the trip. But to the owners, can you consider adjusting the price? I'm asking for a friend. read more

I was staying at the Homewood Suite's across Round Swamp Road, and I was getting hungry. I had remembered a food truck on the LIE service road on exit 48 eastbound. I decided to check it out and am glad I did. It's not a hot dog stand, it's a full bore restaurant on wheels. Went yesterday with my son. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. We had a seafood salad that was on ice in the front and it had octopus, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. It was in olive oil and they gave us warm French bread to dip. My son had a steak sandwich which was filled with steak and peppers and onions and he loved it. I had the ahi tuna with wasabi sauce on top of a salad. Very delicious and very reasonably priced. I cannot wait until the lobster rolls come back in for the season. If you are in Long Island you MUST seek this place out! Friend of mine and I were staying at hotel next door and kept seeing people visit this food truck in the adjacent parking lot. We ended up eating breakfast there the next morning and it was amazing! Ralphie, the owner was so friendly and he made everything to order. The 2 of us had a huge feast and it was so reasonably priced. We would have paid way more at any diner and not enjoyed the food nearly as much. Clearly this was the place to stop because everyone from construction workers to men in business suits were stopping for breakfast. And Ralphie knew them all! I wish we had been around to try lunch because the specials board looked incredible. We loved this place so much we had breakfast there the next day too. There is one picnic table next to food truck and Ralphie brought everything out to us and checked in on us regularly. Definitely not your normal Food Truck experience. Best food truck around! I was a regular 4 years ago when I worked in Melville and recently started working in that area again. I wondered if it was the same owner and quality of food. I went back and it was like no time has passed. The same great friendly greeting with wonderful service and great quality food at reasonable prices and your food is ready pretty quickly. Much better than any drive thru. The truck is always clean and in top shape in and out. I would rather stop there than most restaurants. recently stopped for a quick hot dog. well, this hot dog was from the old days. made with the natural casing, just the right spices, and the size of the hot dog was considerably larger than your average push cart franks. This food truck is off the hook!! It's really tough to drive by and not stop. I've been going here for years. I remember when it was just sausage and dogs. It was great then and 100% over the top now with all the menu options that change by the day. Ralph is a real sweetheart. Every day I get the email of menu options . All food is fresh made to order. Soup is always homemade !!! Nothing out of the can . Ginger egg drop is one of my favorites. He sells out quick! Sometimes I call to order. Prices are more than reasonable. Another snowy day on Long Island and Chrissy a fellow yelper and my daughter ask did I want to check out this place Boy am I glad I did they made a big pot of the Block Island chowder that was fresh flavorful with plenty of clam Lobster meat and shrimp delicious and their pastrami Reuben sandwich on the marble rye bread was out-of-this-world delicious. While I was waiting I also seen them cooking Italian sausage hot and cold with peppers and onions that also look good and there was also stuffed breaded salmon that looked awesome . Amazing!!! We have been going to Ralphie for years! My husband and his family got me hooked! A few of the staples are sausage and peppers, steak sandwich, burgers... all delicious!!!! Last time I was there my husband and I tried the specials (I always love seeing what he has on his board!) I got stuffed filet of sole with huge chunks of lobster meat, rice and roasted veggies (kale and zucchini, yum!) and my husband got a roasted pork sandwich on a garlic hero with melted mozzarella. Ok... This is a food truck! This is an awesome food truck with awesome fresh food! It's located on the south service road in the PC RICHARD parking lot . I ordered the sausage & pepper hero & the fish Empanada . Both came with a side of macaroni salad which was delicious & fresh. The sausage & pepper hero was on fresh hero bread that was crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside . I think there were about 4 sausages on the sandwich . The fish Empanada was great as well & tasted like a really tasty crab cake fried within an Empanada that was perfectly cooked . The owner is a real nice, genuine type of guy. Honestly, Ralphie's could be the best food truck I've ever been to. I am absolutely lucky to have him so close to my office. Ralphie is such a character and someone you will love to see, even more when he gives you your order. I've been here twice already and both meals were amazing. Every time I've had Ralphie's I've gone with my coworkers and I always wanted to eat what I ordered and their meals. Everyday his menu changes except for the fixed menu in case nothing on the daily menu interests you, but it definitely will. Wow! That's all I can say! This is a food truck On the LIE eastbound service road and you have to eat in your car or outside if it's warm enough. We accidentally stopped by here because we were in the area and it's hard to believe that a food truck can produce the amazing sandwiches we had here. I found Frank's on yelp and the reviews are spot on. The steak with onions and melted mozzarella hero was HUGE and great quality flank steak. The sausage and peppers and onion hero was great but it needed salt and I was too lazy to get out of the car to get some. Will definitely come back to try other stuff. read more

I booked the Four Points next door for a business meeting, but knew as I parked in the hotel lot that the real attraction here was the food trailer next door. As soon as I parked I saw the line. WOW!! What a great surprise. It's a food truck located in a parking lot near the LIE I must have pasted it a million Times. Now i will be stopping by on a regular basis. The burger was solid. Not amazing but very good. The meatloaf was put if this world! I never get meatloaf, honestly not really a fan but when the two people online in front of my celebrated that they weren't yet sold out and proceed to order 5 of them, I had to give it a try. Holy cow!!! It was very very good. I have heard the the grilled tuna sandwich, steak sandwich and the BEC are top notch too. Looking forward to trying them all. Worth the trip. Why 5 stars- and then; why a concern?! Went to Fabric Mill to get what I needed. Janis a lovely and assisting lady there, noted when asked - where is a good place around here to eat- her reply- the Food Truck. Really! I said. Where is it, right outside in the parking lot. And so-- it is. A decent size truck with lots of people on line. (see pix) Its top notes how they are supportive of All that serve, military and First responders - many, often, much of the same. A chalk board of specials for the day- steak chili - Yum and Soup De jour - todays pick Beef barley - Yum Yum. What else; The guy - Ralphie- is Really nice. I mean-- Really! We sat in our car and he came over to ask if we'd like coffee with the Peanut butter banana bread we bought. He even offered water and a smack for the pooch. Like- Really Ralph how nice is that ! **) When I offered at the car window, he wouldn't take money. Though I did notice a tip box in the front window- for $$ money for the boys college fund. I'll have to catch that on a flip side. (Flip side--- What does that mean?!!) Anyway, the food is fresh, tasty, hot and a really filling satisfying lunch. We sat in the car on such a windy day but they do have a stand at table for those who hang outside. Like who knew we'd be eating at a Food Truck today. So, anyway, why would I note a concern? It is a service road and so, one way. It is a parking lot with cars and trucks pulling in and out and as some pull up, pulling out of the parking lot one must be aware and careful to be able to see on coming traffic before making that right hand turn out of there. That being said, when you are around there 4 Points Hotel, P.C. Richards, and the other things on the strip, why not stop by Ralphie for a bite. (see pix) read more
