My toddler loved it and he's quite the picky eater! Overall, a great Korean restaurant located in an unexpected area. When I arrived around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday, the restaurant was relatively clean and completely empty. The tables looked fairly new and had a simple, utilitarian style. I walked up to the counter and asked how the promotion worked. The owner pointed out the rolls on the menu and asked whether I was dining in or ordering to go. After telling her I was dining in, I looked over the menu. Since I don't eat much rice, I was immediately drawn to the three no-rice rolls, which were $16 each. The specialty rolls also looked good and were priced between $16 and $19. I asked to order three of the no-rice rolls using the promotion. That's when the owner told me those rolls were not included. The sign outside says "any two rolls," yet apparently there are exclusions that aren't disclosed. Since the no-rice rolls are in the same price range as the specialty rolls, I asked why they were excluded. The owner didn't offer any explanation--she simply said no, then walked away from the register and back into the kitchen. I found that interaction disrespectful and a clear indication that they weren't interested in earning my business. Customer service matters, and this experience left a very negative impression. I recommend choosing one of the many other restaurants in the area that value friendly, transparent service. Advertising a promotion as applying to "any" rolls while excluding certain items without clearly stating that feels misleading.

Inside there are 6 little tables and a counter where you order and can see them preparing the food. Staff are friendly; when you arrive you are greeted in Japanese, and they are very accommodating if you need anything. Next to the register there is a small refrigerator with canned and bottled drinks for purchase. They do not offer water cups at all, which I'm fairly certain is required by California state law. This was frustrating, but we managed fine without. I have tried the oyakodon and the pork katsu plate. Both are delicious! The oyakodon has a perfect amount of chicken and egg, and is topped with some veggies that gove a nice flavor. I love the flavor of the onions in this, too. The pork katsu is an easy favorite; I have ordered this at many places but this one has the best sauce! The pork was crispy and flavorful. It included a small side of potato salad and some veggies that included lotus root, edamame, I think sweet potato, a mushroom, and something else I couldn't quite identify. Average meal price is around $16 each, so not too bad. We will definitely be back for other delicious meals!

Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. There is a large parking lot where the Home Depot is next door, but they specifically have signs posted to say you can't park there.

Authentic Japanese-owned, mostly Japanese staff, with a couple of long-timers who have clearly found their forever workplace - over a decade and counting. New owner took over when the original retired, a few small changes here and there, but the food and service? Barely touched. That is the highest compliment a ownership transition can get. Check IG for their lunch specials from M-F. I am leaving this review purely out of self-interest. This place cannot close.
