I used to love this location -- convenient, professional, and a great option over the post office -- but they have progressively deteriorated. Every once in a while, staff is friendly and helpful but it's a gamble. My last few encounters, especially during COVID, have been frustrating. There seems to always be distractions. Staff on personal cell phones, today the employee had a guest taking selfies and chatting away, all while customers are required to stand outside in the hot sun. Social distancing is fine and responsible, but if you have people waiting, try expediting service by not being distracted with personal social exchanges. I loved Sandbox and wanted to reach out to a manager/owner but that seems impossible. Am tempted to return to the post office. PS - My customer just received package totally damaged. Sandbox employee encourage me to send FedEx vs. my usual Priority and got sassy about it being lower priced. That's what I get for listening to "experts." I'm done with Sandbox!!! read more

They NEVER have FedEx supplies so you are forced to purchase their supplies. ALL OF THE TIME. Ridiculous for a FedEx authorized Shipping center. One employee often has a very condescending attitude about it too-instead of apologizing or offering a solution (basic customer service) he makes the customer ask all the questions snout what the options are so he can keep saying "No" and the customer gets increasingly frustrated. Whoever orders the FedEx supplies is slacking. And if they just want people to buy the packing materials than they could at least simply say it up front so you don't waste your time with unnecessary back and forth. There's often ridiculously long lines that no one manages and no one gets acknowledged even when they clearly need help. Customer service is abysmal-I've been taking my FedEx account and personal shipping business elsewhere. read more

Paid $47.55 to ship something small and light for my mother's birthday to arrive on-time. Was told it would arrive by noon on her birthday (3/29). This is printed on the receipt After checking the tracking, found out that it would arrive three days late (4/1). I called to find out what happened. The first time I called the woman hung up on me. I called multiple times and was told multiple answers, "That was either your mistake or the person who charged you," "Once FedEx has it it's out of our hands," "It may say FedEx didn't pick it up then but they did," "FedEx didn't come that day," "FedEx did come that day." This place attempted to charge me $1 in order to accept a package with a prepaid UPS label. I spoke to a gentleman from UPS and was informed that these type of locations are not supposed to charge a fee on top of UPS. I did not leave my package...No way!!! read more

Not only can you bring objects in and say "please pack and ship this" but you can even have them come to your door and pick up things which they'll pack back at their store. I love this service. I've rented a PO box here for about two years. During that time, service has gone steadily downhill. They recently introduced charges for packages that were not picked up the same day they delivered. The way this was communicated to customers was disorganized, inaccurate, and haphazard at best. Now -- I check my mail about twice a week. I went in the other morning only to find that the business is moving! This means the mailing address for all of their customers will be changing - did they pick up the phone to let their customers know that they would be moving? No! The next day they closed their doors, and I have now had two UPS packages that were unable to be delivered. The owner of this place clearly has no idea what they are doing. This place comes in handy, especially when you don't have a printer. The post office down Myrtle Avenue closed, and they seem to be the only place close by that can do shipping, sell stamps, etc. The staff has always been helpful and they are knowledgeable as well. I went to this place for the first time in the 5 years I have lived in this neighborhood; to both a pleasant and an unpleasant situation. The girl who worked there was beyond sweet and helpful and in that sense the place is incredible. On the other hand I was charged $100+ to scan 200 pages--I reiterate: SCAN ONLY. The scans were sent to my email, NOT PRINTED. No paper no ink no nothing was used but the scanner. Kind of an INSANE price to charge for a service that took 2 minutes to complete and that I completed myself. I so want to go back because of the amazing clerk, but the prices are out of touch so I probably won't. read more

This store is a blemish on Myrtle Ave. I have stood outside this store waiting for it to open on time (10 am on Saturday) on multiple occasions. It is now almost 12 and they are still not open. The employees are apathetic with miserable demeanors. They charge $1, just to drop off a package. There are roaches in the store, and they are often out of basic shipping supplies. If you can go anywhere else, do it. This store does not deserve your patronage. read more

I have been using Sandbox for my business address and to receive packages for 4 years. I love this place. I'm there at least 4 times per week, so I see how busy they get and how rude and impatient some customers can be. The shipping rates are a little higher, but you're paying for a service! They are a lot more helpful and convenient than the post office, and a lot closer than UPS and Fedex. Maybe I'm too open-minded or patient, but what I also like is that the staff behave like "real people," compared to some places I've been where everyone is always super-friendly, always smiling, "Yes, m'aam," "Sorry, sir," etc. They aren't rude, but they tell it like it is and work together well as a team. They do a great job of keeping track a large volume of business shipments I receive and send. They work hard, and they care. read more

I had a bad experience at Sandbox today. I went there to fed ex some packages. When I arrived, no one else was here. There were no pens in the store except for one by the till. I asked to borrow it to fill out the fed ex forms. The sales person told me to buy a pen. When it came to selecting the mailer, I asked for padded envelopes. Apparently there were none in the supply room. While i was preparing my packages, he was unbelievably rude to a customer inquiring about a package by phone. And he proceeded to scold me about the pen. Unless Sandbox can find polite, competent people to work there on Sundays, I won't be going there again. read more

I have compared their shipping prices of my last several packages with online UPS/ USPS/ FEDEX online calculators and the price I paid at Sandbox was typically 40% more!!! Sandbox printed me a receipt my Priority overnight package at 3:20PM 7/31/15. The tracking number could not be found on the Fedex web site for the next 22 hours. The addressee could find no record of receiving it. Sandbox obviously lost the package. Upon my complaint on 8/1/15, at approximately 2pm, the clerk at Sandbox keyed in the tracking number, and after a few clicks, mirabile dictu!, Fedex web site now says the package was picked up at 1:38pm 8/1/31, a day after I handed it over the counter! I will trust Sandbox with no future packages. read more
