I use this location for Amazon returns and most of the time have no issues just dropping items off. The most common issue I have is that the store rarely opens on time. Every single time I show up in the morning at opening hours, I have to wait for the employee to show up and open the store. They are never on time opening the store. Today, however I came mid day with my kids to drop off a bulky package that was difficult to carry (we do not have a car here in Brooklyn) and it was a big effort for us to get the box to the store. As soon as the employee scanned my QR code, the computers went down and he had to reboot the system. He tried a second computer and same issue - he had to reboot the system. A line of customers was building up and he was getting anxious and loosing his cool and told everyone it would be about 30 minutes before the computers would be back on. We had other errands we had to run including going to the grocery store across the street. I asked if I could leave the package there for a few minutes so I could get groceries across the street and he said no I could not. So I was forced to drag the box with me across the street into the little grocery store to get what I needed. I decided afterwards I would go back to UPS and just wait in the store until the computers were back on. But upon coming back, I discovered that the employee just locked up the store and would not allow anyone to come back in and wait for the computers to be running again. So I was forced to drag that box all the way back home along with the groceries I had just bought. I'm so frustrated with this store and wish there was a better alternative in the neighborhood. I don't ever want to step foot in there again. The inconvenience that the computers being down caused me plus the employee just deciding to close the shop and not allow me to wait inside with that big box was so upsetting. I don't care if you're dealing with a lot of packages everyday - that's the purpose of this kind of business and I'm sure plenty of other UPS stores are able to get it right. Open on time and figure out a convenient alternative for your customers (especially moms with their hands full) when your computers go on the fritz. Don't punish someone who just dragged a big bulky package to your shop. They may never come back. read more

Like other users of this UPS Store, I had an encounter with a rude, obnoxious staff member there, in relation to use of their computers to print out a shipping label. The previous time I had done this I wasn't charged for it, and so was surprised to be charged for it when I went back to send a return a week later. When I explained this to the clerk there, he was unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational about payment for the computer/printing service when I asked about being charged when I hadn't just about a week prior. I have no problem paying if that's a service that they apparently charge for, I just wasn't aware of it because it's a self-serve option. The clerk could've explained this in a more calm, courteous way instead of becoming instantly unpleasant and aggressive in demanding payment. After acting like that, why would they think a customer would ever want to go back there when there are other options for shipping nearby? read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I have been going to this location for at least 3-4 years and never, I say never have I experienced what I experienced today. I was literally thrown out of the store and refused service by the employee, who may I add has been giving me grief for some time now but appears to be the only employee every time I go to the store and lord knows I've tried to change the times I go for the sake of avoiding him. I have made a formal complaint to UPS about this location in hopes they can help the locations out and possibly get the employee formal Customer Services training. If I did not respect myself, I would have called the police because of what transpired today, but I have faith in UPS Corporation that they will help to rectify the existing problems with the rude employees and blatant disrespect being given to the consumers. To be thrown out, refused service and be told that I can only patronize the 5th Avenue location moving forward is crazy and unacceptable. I've read recent reviews about a rude employee and I'm certain, absolutely certain its the same one. There have been really great employees i the past but the quality has definitely dwindled and is at it's all time lowest! So sad, that this is my experience and I was made to feel as low as i was made to feel. No one should get away with that! read more

Most obnoxious clerk behind the counter. I usually go to the UPS store in Sunset Park/Industry City to drop off packages, however they had already closed this evening by the time I made it over there. I was headed home on 7th Avenue and at about 7:40pm, I noticed another UPS Store in Park Slope (btw 8th & 9th I believe). I drive around the block a few times to find a spot, went in at about 7:50, and the guy immediately copped attitude by sighing & rolling his eyes (apparently I came in too close to closing time for him?!). I told him that I had a few things to return to Amazon (you can just bring them to UPS, unboxed unlabeled, and simply show the clerk the QR code on ur phone, and fun!! (.Best return policy ever, Amazon!) Anyway, when I said I have a few items, and QR code's already pulled up, he grumbles "a few???" in an annoyed tone, and again rolls his eyes and sighs heavily... wow. Next, I put hbd items on the counter in between him and I, and then he said "no/put them over here, and points. I literally moved 1 step to the right, and said (now I'm getting pissed), "really, dude? One step?" . "Yep, that's right just one step" He continues to piss and moan while scanning my 4 QR code's (30 seconds max). Meanwhile another girl came in after me. I hate to see how she was treated?! Lastly, I started to walk out when we were (quickly) finished, When I realized that he hadn't given me a receipt (proof of return/tracking #'s, etc...). I returned to the desk and asked for my receipt . He refused! He said " no " literally just "no". I said "no? I can't have my receipt?? He replied again "no"... "I shut the system down already (as he's typing away). We went back and forth. I asked him if he could turn the computer back on. He said no. He said I came in right before they were closing, and too bad. I said " so, u are really REFUSING to give me my paid receipt that I am entitled to??" Yep was the response. I said " there's no on button?" "Nope" was his response. And so on and so on. He told me just to check my amazon account. The point is.... I now have no proof that I returned these items!!! He could've thrown my sh@t out, or taken it home himself if he wanted to! He yelled something bad out to me as I walked out-absurdly rude, but I couldn't make out exactly what it was 100% I would've given it a zero rating if I could! I'm sorry but if the posted hours are until 8, you should accommodate your customers until that time, which is what the customer expects. BTW, it wasn't like their doors were locked or anything when I arrived-not at 7:59, but with 10 minutes to spare. Plenty of time to scan 4 QR codes that I had pulled up on my phone! I went to pick up my sons meds, which I have been doing monthly since Sept and he wanted to charge me $7. I had never been charged a fee before. He was refusing to give me my sons meds and said that I never picked up meds here before. If there was something positive about Satan's personal UPS store, I'd post it. Only use this store if you plan on leaving your purse behind, because they're great at not stealing it. I was in a hurry, and tried to drop off a return, but the exchange number didn't work. Xavier was extraordinarily helpful, immediately understood what was going on, and asked if I wanted to stick around and call to get it fixed. I said I couldn't do that, and instead he put my name, number, and the exchange number on the return, and told me to call in when I got it worked out. Once I did, he was extremely helpful over the phone as well, immediately processing the return, then calling back and leaving a voicemail with the tracking number, as well as offering to print me a copy of the tracking info if I wanted to come back in for it. All in all, what could have been an extremely annoying issue was handled really well in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Thanks so much, Xavier! read more

UPDATE: this place is not in the shipping business. I tried working with them to get 3 time sensitive packages out the door. Instead, they watched an outbound truck leave (without my packages) and said "maybe" another truck would be back later. Their listed outgoing time is 7:00 PM and this all happened at 6:15, so so much for that. I flagged down a truck on the street instead. Yes it's the holiday season, but there's no reason for multiple customers with prepaid packages to stand in line and wait for custom services and sales to be rendered. The employee there was not only rude. He was so nasty he shushed my husband after he told us technically he didn't have to accept any of our packages because we paid UPS and he doesn't work for UPS, meanwhile with his UPS logo polo on. Incident #1 Husband sells computer on Ebay, ships it to buyer via UPS. Despite meticulous packaging, UPS drops the package and shatters the PC to pieces. Of course, UPS is unwilling to take responsibility, and it takes threatening to sue, and a lot of back and forth bicker to finally get reimbursed for the 'insured' package, which THEY broke. Incident #2 Husband has an important document shipped UPS from Long Island. The package does not arrive at scheduled time. And now, the 'tracking' message says 'Package could not be delivered because no one was there'. BS! My husband was very anxiously waiting for this package, so of course he was there. Incident #3 I make a batch of chocolate chip cookies for my husband's mom, who we just found out is very ill, and so I want to do something special for her this mother's day. So I spend Friday morning baking cookies, putting them in a pretty tin, and walking over to UPS for next day delivery. Package to arrive Saturday before noon. All morning, I'm waiting for my husband's mom to call to say she got the cookies. Of course, no call. I track the package, message says: "Incorrect address." I check the UPS bill, and the correct address is perfectly legible. I forgot to mention that mailing these 'cookies' overnight cost $67 AND they will not be delivered until Monday. So, NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE UPS. And I give it zero stars. read more

Ok, if I could give this place NEGATIVE stars, I would. They charge you an arm and a leg for shipping. Literally! They also tack on charges for taping if they feel it needs to be re-taped, etc. I have had a long bout with them over the loss of one of my boxes and it was FINALLY resolved yesterday, the last day in 2007! This all started the BEGINNING of July. Do I recommend using ANY UPS Store for your shipping needs? Absolutely not. I cannot impress this upon you enough. Ideally, I'd give no stars. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE at all costs. The individuals who staff and manage this franchise have such enormous chips on their shoulders, that they feel entitled to berate, insult and abuse random customers who have the audacity to request to purchase basic packing and shipping services. Early this week, I dropped by the store with a pre-printed shipping label, billing to a UPS corporate account and two items that needed to be packed and shipped. Simple, right? Wrong. In a hostile exchange that took nearly 20 minutes, the "manager" defiantly screamed at me that they "DON'T PACK ANYTHING" at his Store. When I got UPS HQ on the phone to confirm that UPS was still a shipping company (they are!), and as such their retail franchises did, indeed, offer packing services and materials which could all be billed to my corporate account (they do and could), the "manager" refused to speak to the officials I had on the phone. Even after repeated requests on speaker phone the manager crossed his arms and barked "I don't need to talk to nobody!" After he literally TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS while I was standing at the counter, I was forced to pick up my items, and carry them back home with me. Unless you wanted to feel completed violated at the hands of a rude, overbearing packing and shipping clerk who apparently doesn't believe his job includes packing and shipping, Do yourself s favor....GO TO ANY OTHER UPS STORE (there's one 5 minutes away at 315 Flatbush that's open both earlier and later than this dump).... or if necessary, strap the box to your back and fly it there yourself! I was just there today at about 2:30-3:00pm...First - they lie. I went in there with a package that was 21"x19"x18" and about 34lbs. I asked the girl if they can do USPS (US Postal Service - not UPS - they do both) and she said yes. She came back and said it was about $65 to send. I was shocked because just before I had looked it up online and the USPS site said that you could send "Media Mail" which might be for books, but they do take larger packages (there is a maximum). I told her that she should send Media Mail (which is a less expensive way to ship through USPS) and she said they only ship first class, the post office was wrong she said - they don't do media mail for that type of box and that type of weight, the cost: $65.00 (and this price was without insurance!) - She also said that they could can box it and wrap for me. I said how much is that - the total: a whopping $135!!! I said it costs an additional $65+ dollars for you to wrap it? Ok, just give me the box ($13 - which is ridiculous for a box), some bubble wrap ($8) and some packing peanuts ($4) - I had my own tape. So I was boxing it up thinking that I should probably just send because maybe the website was wrong. So the Rasta guy who works there comes in and says, "why are you packing that here?" I asked where else I should be packing it? He just gives me a look, checks out my packaging and with a sneer says, "Just note that HE packed it, not us" - that was enough for me. I paid and walked 2 blocks down to the 9th street Post Office, Van Brunt, where they TOOK my package and sent it MEDIA MAIL. For only $38.87 + $5.10 for $250 - I am looking at my receipt from Van Brunt post office now. The UPS store is a RIP OFF - they lie (of course you can send media mail and cheaper than they quote) and I am going to send a letter to the Better Business Bureau because they steal. DO NOT - and I repeat - DO NOT - shop here. And hey guy behind the counter - I SENT myself and I packed MYSELF - saved over $90 too... So there you go. Go if you want - but that is the last time I EVER set foot in there. read more

This review is just for an all star employee, Nate, aka: Nate the great. I raced in on May 20, 2017. There was just one employee I could see. I taped up my box at the counter by the front door, gave it to the employee and raced out to get back in the car with my husband and kids. About 30 min later, when we were home, my husband's phone rang. It was Nate from UPS. He had my purse. I had left it there. In it was my wallet, cash, iPhone, etc...oh, and dark chocolate covered almonds! My husband picked it up & thanked Nate. I called the store to praise Nate & ask how he got my husband's phone # (my iPhone was locked). He said he looked in my purse to find my wallet to check for ID. He found my license and called 411 & gave them my name & address to see if they had a contact # for me. They didn't. He then found my NYCID which had my emergency contact # (my husband's) on it. That's how he phoned my husband! A detective, a thoughtful employee and an excellent human, Nate. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars because it's the WORST. I went in to pick-up a package that I had delivered to the store. The employee (the only nice guy I've ever dealt with there) couldn't find the package even though the tracking information showed that it had indeed been delivered the previous day. My package was basically MIA for a week and every time I called to get an update on it, no one knew what the hell I was talking about. One time I called and was actually put on hold and then promptly disconnected. FINALLY, someone located my package and called to let me know that I could pick it up the following day. When I went in, a person who I presume to be the owner was there. Before I even opened my mouth, I could tell that he hated me (he was on the phone when I walked in and looked super annoyed). He found my package but then tried to make me pay a fee that I thought I had already paid. It could have just been a misunderstanding on my part, but the guy was in such a rush and too rude to calmly/nicely explain anything to me. The conversation ended with the dude pushing my package at me and telling me to just take it. I hate being mean to people, but this guy was just such a **** and treated me terribly. Interacting with him seriously ruined my morning. Don't have your packages delivered here unless you want to deal with people who love to make you feel awful. Also, I noticed when I was there that they charge $1.25 to tape up a small box. Seriously? Price gouging at its finest. read more
