This place is classic. If I want Korean and I'm in downtown flushing...I come here. Simon is my "go to" when I'm there. He speaks English and always gets everything out quick. Food is always great. The staff here are friendly and super helpful

Ordered Combo Premium and Combo C for take out for office party. The food was packed carefully and was still warm when arrived. Good taste and they provided side dishes for everyone. Look at the food presentation, amazing!

It was my first time at Sansookapsan, and upon entering, I could tell it would be amazing since it was packed with people. We ordered one soup for the table and a combo KBBQ. Next time, if I go in a pair, I'd skip the extra soup because the combo comes with two. The service was okay, possibly due to the restaurant being busy. Highly recommend this place for good KBBQ.

I have eaten here dining in and takeout and they do not disappoint! They always provide a lot of delicious side dishes too. The staff is very nice and attentive. If you dine-in, they will give you a small refreshment (the yakult I uploaded was after a meal). Ive come here many times, so they recognize me too. One time they took a little longer than expected with my takeout order and apologized by giving us extra side dishes. I said it was no problem, but they insisted. I will always come back here because of the great service and yummy food. Inside is pretty clean, too. It has a very home-y feel. In the front there are pictures the staff took with any celebrities/famous people that visited too.

Came here for lunch and nobody in my party could finish their lunch serving of soup orders. THAT, my friends, is how much they give :) Galbitang (Lunch Special $18): Get your stomach ready here for one of the biggest portions of galbitang known to Flushing/Manhattan (that I've tried), because I feel like I robbed the kitchen. I'm a sucker for Korean short rib stew, especially the spicy version (they don't have here, sadly) but whenever I order it at restaurants, I'm always disappointed by that single piece of meat sitting in my soup, and usually around $20+. Here, you get not one, not two, but THREE pieces of short rib. Not baby sized, these are legit adult servings, ok? Leftover bone pics for reference :D Short rib is superrr tender, very fall off the bone. Has plenty of meaty to fatty bits that will satisfy every bite. The soup is just so comfortable and good, but it does get saltier as you go, so keep that in mind. It can definitely feed two, since I couldn't finish my soup. Banchan selections weren't the best (kimchi wasn't great) but I'm glad they have the fishcake and the potato salad was pretty good too. Favorite would definitely be the steamed egg, I almost ate the whole thing myself haha Also, free yakult at the end of the meal!

Came here for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty busy but not overly crowded. I came here with my mom and got bibim naengmyun for I think lunch was $15. It was ok, the seasoning was good but the noodles were overdid so it was dry and all clumped up together. They were attentive and was fast with serving us. Water was refilled without us asking and the soup that came with the naengmyun was good. I opted for the hot soup. Overall, my experience here was ok but I would probably try a different dish next time.

The Bulgogi lunch box was very delicious. They have other types of nice lunch boxes too such as Salmon or Galbi. :)

Last Friday, I stopped by for lunch with my friend. They have a great lunch menu to choose from. They give you plenty of side dishes and will provide you more if needed. The staff is very friendly and attentive. And food is very delicious and they make sure that you are very satisfied with your meal. If you are in the area and you want delicious Korean food, then I highly recommend San Soo Kap San! :)

Came here for Lunch special on Wednesday around 11:45AM and the prices range from $15 and up. Side dishes come out and they provide barkey tea and ice water. We ordered gamjatang and sangtae jigae. Service was great!

Pretty solid. Service was insanely fast and they do everything for you. Meats were fresh, although next time I'll probably get some marinated options.

This was wonderful. Generous amounts of banchan. Delicious steamed egg. Wonderful kimchi. I liked them all. Mainly what stood out the most was how fresh their cuts of meat tasted. We had the sirloin steak and the bulgogi. Both were made in front our eyes by our waitress who was friendly and helpful. I had a great experience. I would return with my family.

Amazing service. Great food. Clean restaurant!! They don't serve sushi anymore since covid. Bar serves Soju, wine and beer only.

Ordered chicken ginseng soup and I appreciated that they included newspapers which you can use to line your table and make fir easy cleanup! This was a thoughtful touch. The soup did not have much ginseng in it and the flavor was very bland, but this would be a very good dish if you're not feeling well. It was a very generous portion too, and lots of chicken (whole thing with bones). I have leftovers that were easy to reheat and eat, and they also included white rice. They included a lot of free sides such as beans and peanuts, kimchi, potato salad, spicy cucumber, etc. I'd like to try their BBQ next time!

Ordered a to-go: They gave me cooked rice that somebody already took a few bites out of. Also the amount of the rice was less than 70% full, to save their money. Got no apologies. Will never order again!!!

Generally the slices are nice and thick and there's plenty of rice, but when I ordered this as take out, they gave me much less rice which I didn't expect. I'd also say that they're happy hour is very generous and they have a decent variety of drinks like plum wine and beers. This place can get very busy and it can be difficult to flag down staff. It would be nice if they had one of those buzzing buttons that you could use to call the staff. Overall, still my favorite place to eat at in person. My wife had heard good things and we had been craving sushi for a while, so we took a stroll over and gave it a shot. I went with my usual order -- a spider roll and spicy tuna -- and both were solid. I tried a third roll as well but honestly cannot remember what it was, and it did not leave much of an impression either way. The first two though were good enough to bring me back. The highlight of the visit was honestly our server. She was cool, spunky, and had a great sense of humor. We ended up laughing and joking around with her throughout the meal, which added a lot to the overall experience. Pleasant visit all around. We will be back.

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.

In reality, they don't serve high quality sushi omakase or anything fancy. However, they do serve some of the best sushi rolls in the area. Always fresh and many crazy concoctions that will satisfy almost any taste buds. I have been coming here ever since moving into the neighborhood. The servers have always been kind and helpful. The restaurant is very small and really focus mostly on takeout or delivery. On the last visit, I really like the Mini Scallop Roll and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. Munchy Roll was just okay. White Tuna Sashimi was too cold and icy, while the White Tuna Nigiri was somewhat better. However, truth be told, just come for the fun and interesting sushi rolls and forget about the nigiri or sashimi.

I went in right around opening time (noon) on the weekend - the outside is a bit unassuming and partially covered by awning but the inside was brightly lit and the lady at the register (I wish I asked for her name) was incredibly warm and welcoming. She was super enthusiastic about helping me identify which rolls would be safe for me to have. They also have a grab-and-go section where certain popular rolls and sides have already been prepped, but as long as you're willing to wait, the chefs are more than happy to make a fresh batch of a specific roll, even if there are already packed portions of the same exact roll in the grab-and-go section. I thought this was a really thoughtful approach to appeasing all customers. I ended up going with a Philadelphia roll and a Mango Tango specialty roll, which contained a combination of salmon and tuna, mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The ingredients were very fresh and I think the prices are quite reasonable. Without even asking, I was given gluten-free tamari sauce instead of normal soy sauce. The combination of the restaurant's extensive menu and how kind the staff were made this a really wonderful experience - I was very satisfied with my order and definitely see myself coming back again and again whenever I have a sushi craving. The only downside is that this is really more so a grab-and-go spot in general, as there were only two small tables in the entire store. As a heads up, they also prefer to take cash instead of card.
