The unit was infested with rats.. Spoke with management for months, the infestation kept getting worse. Rat traps were put inside the unit did not help. The entire building has rat droppings and puddles of rat pee on the floor. All the items in the unit are ruined. Furniture chewed on, plastic containers chewed through, cardboard boxes had nests inside of them. As we are cleaning out the unit, one of the boxes had a rat inside of it. read more

Had a great experience here. We rented from Sept 2018-August 2019 while we went overseas. We met with Maria who is an excellent representative for this company. She showed us our options in relation to the size and location of storage units. The business also has options to store your automobile, trailer, or RV pending availability. The price was reasonable and we had one rental increase which was approximately $10 USD. The facility has a lock code gate and specific access hours from 7 A.M. - 7 P.M. they provide CCTV security which covers all angles of the business. If alarms go off after hours, San Dimas Sheriff's Dept responds. They also have rodent control all around to prevent infestation. The facility may be able to accommodate disabilities pending availability. That worked for me as I needed a floor ground unit. I saw other units marked as handicape-able with straps to help with the rolling door. If you are in need of a lock, mattress covers, etc. they may also have them available for purchase at the office. Let me begin by saying that I'm normally a very responsible person... but man did I mess up with San Dimas Lock-Up. I didn't have my monthly set to auto payment and for years I remembered to make online payments. Well, then the pandemic happened and I had my own medical issues and multiple surgeries that I forgot all about this bill. I've been recovering at my mom's and haven't been back home to collect my snail mail and missed the numerous attempts the folks at this business made to contact me. When I remembered suddenly and tried to sign onto the online portal, I received a message informing me how delinquent I was after months of not paying. Nearly having a panic attack, I called Maria right away. She was so nice and because I'm a financially illiterate millennial, she was nice enough to explain what a cashiers check was and how it works. We set up an appointment so that I could pay what I owed and set up auto pay. Maria and Carol were so nice, shared genuine concern about my well being as I had mentioned that I was dealing with some medical stuff and went above and beyond to keep their customers and themselves safe during this pandemic. RIDICULOUS! I have been renting a large 10 x 20 space for years. I moved from California and recently decided to downsize the unit since the cost keeps creeping up. I called to verify that my BROTHER (with the same last name) is on the list of people who are allowed access. Since my brother will be spearheading the transfer of my items, I asked about downsizing to a smaller unit. Their LAME POLICY requires me to be there in person in order to transfer to another unit. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So I need to fly 3,000 miles just to make that happen? In what world is this logical? SInce my brother lives in California and is on the list WHY IN THE HELL CAN'T HE ACT ON MY BEHALF? WHY CAN'T I WRITE A LETTER GIVING THEM PERMISSION? So instead of these geniuses getting rent from me for a while longer, they are now forcing me to empty the unit and move to another location. These people need to go to an ATM, get some cash and go buy the clue they're in dire need of. FFS! UPDATE: A few people have been asking for the management company's info. Well here it is... I have two spaces here one small storage locker and an outside space for our travel trailer. The office staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Maria! The assistant manager is also helpful, but usually when I go in she is off. Anyways, the location is perfect for us and the rates are super reasonable for the area. The only thing that would make it better is longer gate hours, perhaps open until 9pm instead of 7pm. Anyways, it's great, so happy we found them! read more

I have been a customer at San Dimas Lock Up for at least 5 years renting several different units based on need. The worst thing about San Dimas Lock Up is when you need to see someone in the office, they more often then not have a sign on the door saying they will be back in an hour. I could understand if they are gone for one hour around noon, but today both employees were having LUNCH from 4 to 4:45 pm. I think that it is poor management for 2 employees to take lunch at the same time near the end of the day. The problem is, is that you can not find out who is the parent company of San Dimas Lock Up to complain about their unprofessional behavior. I have moved so many times in the last few years and San Dimas Lockup has been there for me every time. The storage units are clean and varmint free, the grounds are impeccable and the rates are very reasonable. In particular I have to give huge kudos to the employees who work in the office and particularly the manager. I have had units in other part of LA and the people who work in the offices really don't care about anyone. No so here! I have had personal attention from the first day I signed up. The other reviews make no sense to me. True, there are many rules to follow, as with any storage place, and the employees make a concerted effort to make everything clear and understandable. My experience with this storage is great! The manager was very informative and really nice, very kind and I got the best deal in town. I was having a really bad day because the movers I had were horrible. They showed up late and tried to charge me more. When we got to San Dimas Lock Up my day turned around because of Maria. It was nice to deal with someone so honest who knows what they are talking about. She showed me several units and let me make the choice even though the driver of the moving company was trying to force me to choose a storage size way bigger and spend more money.
