Guys....run, don't walk. This is seriously SO good. The wings were so good, well fried, well sauces. The fried green tomatoes were awesome! Sometimes you can tell when fried green tomatoes have been frozen, these are NOTHING like that. These might be the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. The fish and shrimp were both delicious. If I had to have any complaints, the Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad. We ordered out, so can't speak about the storefront, but we for sure have plans of going there now!!! Go immediately!

This is a franchise operation of a fast food chain that originated in Louisiana about 10 years ago. The food we had, a Shrimp Po'Boy and a Shrimp Platter, were not bad, but not spectacular, either. Nothing seemed especially fresh tasting, in fact the roll for the po'boy was several days past it serve time. The food here is not cheap, especially for a lunch meal - our food with two drinks was just under $22. The service was nice, but there simply wasn't enough here to bring us back.

Ordered through doordash. Came fast and hot. Good portions and pretty good food. Mac and cheese is not baked but creamy. Cole slaw on the vinegary side but good compliment to fish. Overall seasoning could be upped but on the other hand this would be good for someone who can't eat a lot of salt or seasoning.

This place doesn't look all that great from the outside. But once you go in its a different story They have good prices and good food. I will go back there again. I had the Shrimp Po'Boy. It was the right amount of food for me. They also have me 2 extra pieces on the side..

I didn't mind the 15-minute wait but for $16-17...I was expecting a hot and fresh meal. Oh, was I wrong. I went with the 5-wings and fries combo. When I opened my box, there were barely any fries. It consisted of small, burnt, and broken pieces of fries. It was as if they gave me the left over fries from each previous batch. I've been eating fries all my life and know what fresh fries should taste like. This was definitely old fries. Now onto the chicken wings, if this is how wings taste in Buffalo, I'm going to save myself a trip and not visit. It was over cooked and dry. These are supposed to be hot wings and there were barely any sauce on it, more like naked wings to me. If you spend 15-minutes to make my food, do it right or just give me a refund. If you're not going to deliver it like your advertisements, let us know so we can take our money elsewhere. Thanks!

I do always get an extra sauce however because I'm a sauce person and it's good. The fried crab sticks are a unique touch although my favorite menu items would be the littos! I have since converted to a plant based diet and am pleased to say that the the jerk vegan litto is up to par with the others. It can be spicy though so beware lol. They also now offer a vegan beyond meat litto I am dying to try I just have not gotten around to it. I would say give them a try.

The JUMBO wings were not even close. They were about 3" in length, and the meat, little that there was, was extremely dry! You won't be coming back to our community again, I can assure you!

I hate to do it, but I can only give Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz two out of five stars ("Could've…read morebeen better"). This humble, "mom and pop" food truck, serving the Triangle area, celebrated its two-year anniversary back in November 2020. The truck visited our apartment complex. I ordered a six-count of chicken wings ($8) and "boneless bites" ($7). For the six-count, I ended up getting a combo ($11) with no drink. Combos come with a drink, but they didn't tell me to grab a drink when I picked up my order. I didn't know I was charged for and picked up a combo until after we got home and I opened the boxes. Also, they asked me what sauce I wanted. I didn't realize sauce cost extra. The menu said "extra sauce" costs $0.25 each. The menu should be corrected to say just "sauce." The word "extra" should be removed - it's misleading. The wings didn't look nor taste impressive. They were cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel wings, like wings from one of those old Chinese buffets. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good/great either. I expect more out of a food truck. I got the wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Here, it's a dry rub (not lemon pepper wet). I was also told they have a Parmesan dry rub that wasn't listed on the menu. All the other flavors were wet (sauce). There was barely any lemon pepper seasoning/flavor on the wings. Disappointing. Also, the wings tasted a little overcooked, a bit dry, and they weren't very meaty. The fries were fine, cut with some potato skin left on. A little soggy. They were appetizing when dipped into the ranch dressing. The boneless bites looked like pieces of tofu. They tasted better than they looked. I got the bites with hot sauce. As a spicy food lover, I didn't find the hot sauce to be hot at all. It was mild at best. However, I did think the bites were fairly tasty. The meat was more tender and moist than I had anticipated from the looks of things. Like the fries, each bite tasted more appetizing when dipped into ranch. There were about 8-10 bites in my order, some pieces a little bigger than others. Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz also sells chicken sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, chicken tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, fry variations (e.g. garlic-Parm fries, chili cheese fries), and your standard bags of chips like Cheetos, Funyuns, and Doritos. At the time of our visit, combos were $11 each (includes fries and a drink) and most a la carte items were $6-8 each. Aside from the mix-up with my order, service was fine. Like other food trucks, the business uses Square for transactions so I had my itemized receipt automatically emailed to me. Compared to most other food trucks, Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz is low-budget. It's an old white truck - looks like it was once a taco truck - that shows some wear, especially on the menu with items blacked or whited out and prices stickered over. It's the opposite of one of those shiny, fancy, expensive-looking trucks.

I had high hopes, but there is reason why fries made from fresh potatoes aren't widely offered at restaurants and it's mostly bc they have so much water content and easily come out soggy. And these came out exactly that way - soggy and limp. The chicken sandwich I ordered was a special, limited time offering, and it was also ok. It was advertised as having a slaw on top and that's a strong word for what was served. When I think slaw, I think robust, crunchy veggies with some vinegar bite and while I got a bit of that, it wasn't enough to balance out the fried, savoriness of the breaded chicken patty and bbq sauce. Service was friendly, but I wouldn't say they went above and beyond. I was eating alone at the bar, and I'm usually accustomed to more touch points than I got here, but it wasn't bad. I they checked in more, I may have felt more comfortable bringing up my dissatisfaction with the fries. Beer selection (on tap) was only ok. Definitely a personal preference but I wouldn't say say they had a wide variety of beer styles to select from - at least while I was there. Giving two stars bc I won't come back here on purpose - especially by myself.

The fried artichoke salad is where I feel like I found my peace. The olives, tomatoes, salad dressing, and all other salad components were awesome. It tasted fresh and the ingredients complimented each other. The fried artichokes were a nice crunch too! I would be back to the Federal for the hot food and good vibes. Nerra is at 506 Ramseur Street, Durham, NC. Get a reservation. Don't show up hoping. We went for a belated Father's Day, a week late, because my wife and son let the date slip past them. They'll deny it. I know better. And I'm not actually upset about it, because if they'd remembered, we'd have missed this. We started the night with the Baker's Flight (pumpernickel, cheddar rosemary biscuits, cornbread, house butters). The pastries were excellent. The butter was something else entirely. I asked for 8oz to take home, which is not a thing I do. I don't need more butter in my life. Seriously. But this butter was coming home wiht me regardless. Our entries: Shrimp and Grits (built on stone-milled grits with jumbo shrimp, spinach, seared peppers, smoked gouda and parmesan, under a Cajun cream sauce). Number two, the Sun-Fire Jerk Chicken (bone-in, braised and marinated, with fried plantains, island jerk sauce, jasmine rice, and a salsa). Lastly: The Whole Roasted Fish (Snapper this particular night, with spinach, tomatoes, citrus caper, and roasted potatoes). Each dish was spectacular. As if not enough, we still ordered dessert. Mama Made, we were told. Cheesecake and a Chocolate Brownie with ice cream. I'm not going to lie here and say either were shared. Somewhere about this time I was doing math in my head of how we could come to Nerra on a weekly basis. Seriously, I was. The Chef came by the table. The Chef's Mama came by too. Our server, Andrea, did the kind of work that doesn't get talked about enough. Andrea was attentive without hovering, present without performing. Andrea should take some time to right the manual on how to take care of a table and party, cause she's a master at it. If none of this moves you, I don't think I can do more for you here. If it does, you already know you're booking a reservation in the next 30 minutes. We are absolutely going back. The only question is how often I can make that happen without rearranging our entire budget. I'm working on it.

So we were near the end of brunch/lunch and before dinner. The restaurant itself is really quaint and I just loved the decor. Staff was warm and friendly. Our waitress was Patience and she was AMAZING! We started with the vegetable tempura and we also tried the calamari. Now I will admit I wanted to stab my husband in the back of his hand with my fork for wanting me to share that tempura. It came with blackened ranch which I have never head of, but it was outstanding. I tend to be super sensitive to salt, and I found the Calamari slight salty. It is one of the primary reasons I don't opt for fried foods. Somewhere there was a memo that say if it's fried, go ahead and OVER SALT it. I will never understand. I had the Sesame Cruisted Tuna with brussel sprouts and my husband had the Golden Crusted Platter. I did not have one complaint about my entree. It was cooked to perfection, and I just enjoyed it to the last bite. I did taste my husband's dish and it was fried and it was salty. More so than the Calamari HOWEVER, he loved it and he did say it was just slightly salty for him, so ya know, it's probably me lol. His broccoli though...it had a grilled flavor to it but no grill marks. How they did it I don't know, but I had to steal a couple off his plate because he owed me for eating my tempura. ha! I rarely drink but I had a glass of wine and my tequila guy has a blood orange margarita! He loved it and that was a recommendation from Patience. Thanks Sis! All said, I only took a point off of this review for the salt. I just think chef's should know better and be careful that it's not too much. A little salt goes a long way and when in doubt, just leave some space for us to salt our food at the table, You can add, but if it's overdone, it ruins the dish. Otherwise, I will go back and try it other menu items! Tempura and then something different lol. The good news is I want to go back and sure, you go ahead and try it too. I think this one is a winner.
