Food was very good, service was sub-par. Hoping to have better service than received on Mother's Day band Fathers's day.

Sammy's Stack House is such a little gem! Nice friendly staff, quick service, yummy food and they serve alcohol - Sammy's has it all. I've driven by this place hundreds of times but it wasn't until my boyfriend had an uncontrollable craving for lingonberry crepes last Sunday night that we finally gave it a go. We went here yesterday at 1130 for a late breakfast after church. Honestly, they have the pancakes perfected. Seasonal pumpkin batter pancakes were also superb. The service was friendly and accurate. However, the other breakfast food was not fresh. Having 10 years of restaurant experience, I know the hash browns were cooked hours ago and kept warm for reheat on the flattop grill. I am certain the homestyle breakfast potatoes were deep fried again, having that hollow greasy middle instead of cooked potato inside the cubed potato. The link sausage was certainly old. They were greasy mush. The eggs, and chicken fried steak were standard and good. Omelettes were good because they were ordered with steak, not old sausage or bacon. Clearly, management needs to be enforcing "hold" times. It was all excellent at breakfast time (earlier), I'm sure. Employees have to be competent enough to actually cook the food when ordered instead of relying on prep and cooked prep. That has been the problem industry-wide since the "pandemic." They pre-cook the food and wait until it's ordered to finish or re-heat. Seriously: Managers, take charge of the kitchens and make the cooks actually cook! read more

Terrible home potato, they should be called tater tots, because they are from a frozen bag and thrown in the fryer greasy as he'll too. I told the waiter that's not how you make them and he said that how we make them. For the price I'll go to a place that doesn't use frozen potatoes, strawberry syrup instead of fresh strawberries and the waiters don't get mouthy. Never going back. Went today for breakfast with my fiancé and daughter, the food was not good, I ordered eggs Benedict and O M G the sauce was literally melted cheddar cheese nothing close to hollandaise sauce! Fiancé ordered a steak omelet it was so greasy and meat was over cooked! Definitely not coming back here! read more

I visited this place on my way to the salon for a hair appointment. So my order was to go. Previously this was an IHOP it's been renovated. Also they've made updates to the dining options that were available when it was IHOP. The upside is the food is much better so is the service. I was happy that I only had to explain my order once and my food came out exactly as I requested it. It was delicious. I definitely will be coming back for another try. read more

Just Wonderful! Pancakes that melt on your mouth, stake done to perfection. Mouth watering flavorful food all around. We had to know who was in charge of making our food. This was our first time to to Sammy's Stack House. We had a short stack and a blue berry combo breakfast. Both meals were very good. I like that we got carafe of coffee left at the table. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was super attentive even though ever table was full and people were waiting. We will be back. read more

This use to be an ihop but then changed. I didn't want to give it a try but then made my choice and came in. Super good food. The only issue is parking on a Saturday or Sunday mornings, but overall a good place. read more

I will not be coming back. The service was slow. It took about 15 mins for our server to greet us and get our drinks and another 30 mins for our food to come out. I understand we came on a Saturday morning when it's busy but the customer service was not great. I ordered the crepes combo and the crepes were smothered in a strawberry jelly. It was way too sweet. My dad ordered a steak and it was very chewy so he didn't end up eating it. We came here in hopes of better service and food than the breakfast chain restaurants and came out disappointed. read more

Checking out the ancient Mall of Orange. Got hungry. Started driving on Tustin towards Katella or Chapman. The corner of my eye noticed the signage. Pancakes. Chicken. Waffles. Proceed with a u-turn. Parking decent amount of spots. Entered this clean mom and pops diner. These kinda spots excite me. (My rule, if you've noticed/driven past an establishment for more than 15years. Stop. They must be doing something right.) restaurant was half occupied. Arrived a little after 1230pm. Ordered coffee (they leave the thermos on the table.) Browsed menu. Of course, ordered the chicken and waffles and a basket of fries. Meal arrived around the 10 minute mark. The size of the portion took me by surprise. I thought it would be a two-piece. It was half-a-chicken. Chicken has a nice crisp, crunch. The coating was of a flour, herb batter. (I like a lightly floured coat). Nonetheless, It was good. Waffle was cooked good. No soft/mushy/undercooked parts. Next time, I'm gonna try the crepes and pancakes. read more
