The crowd alone caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try -- and I'm glad we did. Atmosphere: The moment we walked in, the vibe immediately stood out. It has a charming vintage feel, with beautiful natural sunlight pouring in, making the whole space warm and cozy. Perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch or a casual meal with family and kids. Here are the dishes we highly recommend: Guacamole & Chips Absolutely addictive. The guacamole was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor. We couldn't stop eating it. Steak Plate The steak was cooked perfectly tender, and the juicy corn underneath soaked up all the delicious flavors. Every bite felt satisfying. Pulled Pork Tacos Super authentic Mexican-style tacos with rich layers of flavor. The combination of refried beans and avocado sauce made them even better. A few small notes: The restaurant was extremely busy, so the staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times. Service was okay overall, but understandable considering how packed it was. Coffee lovers: Their coffee leaned a bit on the sweeter side for us, so if you prefer less sweetness, it's worth mentioning when ordering. Overall, such a fun and lively brunch spot in Old Towne OC. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area!

The server/bartender was warm & welcoming so we decided to have a few margaritas and try a few dishes. We ordered the elote, lomo saltado & shrimp over garbanzo beans. Hidden Gem Alert! This place honestly deserves 6 stars if that were a thing…read more It's a true scratch kitchen. Nothing pre-made, everything crafted fresh and customized to your liking, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It's tucked off Katella across from the TJ Maxx and Smart & Final center, with parking and entrance in the back. Once inside, you're welcomed by such a friendly team. The space has two dining rooms, a cozy bar at the entrance, and a cute little street-facing patio. We kicked things off with the Picchu and La Diabla cocktails. The Picchu was crisp, refreshing, and light. Super easy to sip. The Diabla had a subtle spicy kick that kept things interesting while still refreshing. For food, we started with the ceviche mixto without octopus, and wow. The citrusy lime flavors were bright and fresh, perfectly balanced with sweet plantain chips on the side. The portion was huge, easily enough for three to four people. Next was the mixed Lomo Saltado. It was packed with flavor, though the chicken leaned a bit dry for me. I would probably go all-in on the beef or shrimp next time. The shrimp were huge. Then came the ribeye tacos and I'm not exaggerating when I say I was in love. The beef was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, and every bite felt like a moment. We also ordered extra plantains because these flavors just call for it. Crispy, sweet, and so satisfying. My second drink, the Oye Mi Amore, was a standout for me. I love guava and this one delivered. Now let's talk about the experience because it really made the night. When another server came to box up our food, we didn't catch his name, but he turned a simple paper bag into a whole luxury experience and had us laughing nonstop. Our server then asked about dessert. Of course we said yes since it was date night. She surprised us with a complimentary churro. While we waited, she brought out tequila shots. Totally unexpected and so smooth. Then the churro arrived and it was unlike any I've had. Light, airy, and delicate instead of dense, with just the perfect sweetness. The whipped cream was soft and cloud-like and paired beautifully. As if that wasn't enough, she came back again with another round, this time in snifter glasses with a darker tequila that was rich and incredibly smooth. We never felt rushed. We were just genuinely taken care of the entire time. For the two of us, the total came out to $145, which felt more than fair for the quality and experience. We will 100% be back, and next time we are bringing family and friends. Huge thank you to the staff for making this such a fun and memorable night.

The asada was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the beans and rice were classic. My boyfriend went with the carnitas burrito, and it was packed with tender, juicy carnitas and generous portions all around. We also grabbed a flaky pastry in the attached bakery (I didn't catch the name), but it was perfectly buttery and light. Service is always friendly and efficient, even when they're busy, and the vibe feels very local and welcoming. If you're looking for solid Mexican food with consistency you can count on, this is a must.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum

We had a large group of about 30 people, which is never easy for any restaurant to handle, but they accommodated us so well. They seated us at one long table so we could all sit together, talk, and share memories. It meant a lot to keep everyone connected instead of being split up. The food was excellent. I ordered the carne asada plate, and the meat was cooked to perfection -- tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. You can tell they know how to prepare their dishes with care. For dessert, I had the arroz con leche, and it was amazing. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and comfort, especially after an emotional day. The ambiance truly stood out. The hacienda-style patio with trees created such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. The Spanish-style architecture inside, along with the fountain, made the whole experience feel warm and inviting. It has that classic, authentic charm that makes you want to stay and enjoy the moment. Most importantly, the staff was incredible. They were extremely patient, attentive, and very organized -- which is impressive considering we were a party of 30. Everything came out smoothly, and they made sure we were taken care of without making us feel rushed. If you're in Orange and looking for a place with great food, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding service, go to Moreno's.
