I never got to go to a free event, but if I can't afford it I just don't go! Gotta keep the lights on, and $5 for a goth night was perfect for me. I had so much fun, the music was sweet and the outdoor area was nice too. The dance floor is small- kinda as big as their bathroom- but very accommodating, everyone seemed to have space to do their own thing. The one thing that did puzzle me is that they had a sign on the bathroom that said woman and then said it was all genders. I feel like maybe just taking the woman sign off would be simple enough. The message seems to just be "no urinal". The bathrooms are clean and plenty of stalls though!! Too many times in a large group small needs are ignored, and our waiter was amazing with that. Which is what will stick in my brain long after writing this. Food was amazing. I had what is basically diced ham and scrambled eggs, but those were the softest scrambled eggs I've ever eaten. It's clear they have a chef cooking and not just a cook. It was simple food, but done perfectly and I love that. Everything came out at the same time, which is no small feat with a large group like ours. This was the most relaxing and enjoyable brunch I've ever had in a restaurant, while celebrating a milestone birthday, enjoying great food and drinks, and catching up with family I hadn't seen in over a year. This was a restaurant that was all about the experience, not just turning tables over for new customers. Would I return? Oh my yes! The views from the restaurant are gorgeous, parking is easy, food/drinks/service are all on point. I literally have nothing to complain about. This is definitely a place that's worthy of repeat visits.

This is the best bad thing that ever happened to me. I stopped into Sam Bond's for a quick bite--a portabella and bacon sandwich--which I found thoroughly satisfying. But, in a reflection of the way my day had been progressing, there was a major SNAFU: I ran an open tab, and my Visa card was lost. That is, another person with a similar name got my card. Long story shortened, they did sort out the mess, and I subsequently enjoyed an evening of music and merriment I otherwise would have missed. I swear by everything holy to me, this was the Fates intervening on my behalf. Having to return to Sam Bond's Garage on a Sunday evening actually made my day. My week! I can't wait to return with friends, of my own volition. read more

Nov. 2015. What has happened to Sam Bonds? Can only think its because they are in the Whit and think its the trendy place to be. Problems? First expensive..$11-$12 for a sandwich? $8 for a large salad of mostly wilted lettuce and a sliver of carrots and 4 slices of cucumber? Slices of pizza which, if they were made there it wasnt recently, were nuked, minimum topping, tastless. Too bad; this was a go-to place in Eugene but not any more.
