Viking Brewery recently closed their south location so we stopped in to visit their main/west location. It's a beautiful oasis in the midst of a bunch of industrial warehouse buildings. They brew their beer here and also have an indoor bar with seating and a food truck outside on the patio. The patio, though, is may favorite spot at this place. It's long and narrow with plenty of seating, shade, and live greenery! There's a stage on one end and they host live music on certain evenings during the summer. You order food and drinks at the bar and pick up the food at the truck. The bartender was friendly and helpful. Fantastic place to bring friends for a low-key hang and dine out.

The very refreshing Freyja Blonde from Viking Brewing!

Steve and I from a little while back had Viking Brewing and we liked it pretty well. Reason being that it was a "little while back" is that I have quite the queue for breweries to review so it's a really good thing I jot some notes down so I have at least an assistant in recollecting some beers if not most The beer we had and liked was Freyja Blonde. A good blonde ale for sure. Flavor features with this beer is tea, a clean flavor and my favorite, honey. I love tasting honey in a beer! In body it is smooth and soft. Very good blonde and I loved the logo for the brewery hence a t shirt purchase occurred for future representing when out and about at other breweries.

To be clear, this is a review of the West Side Brewery location. This is the chillest place in Eugene. Their outdoor patio on a summer afternoon is one of my happy places. Good beer, good food, and good people (both staff and customers). It might be a little out of the way (seriously, everything in Eugene is only 15 minutes away) , but it is so worth the trip. And they have really awesome wood carvings!

We have been coming here since it was just a open warehouse and loved it then we had not been in for a little while, so we popped in I had a pretzel. It was delicious our bartender Brianna she was so kind nice funny and then the beer, of course is always outstanding and then the owners came in. We've known him since he first started so was nice to let him know what a amazing job he has done , the ambiance very cool the new stage 100% recommend Viking bragget we will be back. Thank you.

BINGO THE LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH! You win prices! Delicious food 100% the chocolate chip cookie was good too. Place is super cute! Very spacious place inside and out. I'm surprised it's not packed. They have a pool table and other board games. Bathroom were clean. Customer service was great.

If you're looking for good beer, but are tired of the typical bar food, then this is the place to try! The beer is excellent and I would go back just for the beer, but the food is even more a pleasant surprise! We tried the smorgasbord platter and loved the frikadeller (meatballs), smoked sausage and pita bread & toum. All was so good that we returned the following week!! From the outside you think strip mall, but instead you step back into the time of the Vikings! I so wish they would open another location in Junction City as I believe our little town would keep them busy and profitable!

The food was average at best. The Mac and cheese tasted like Kraft with bread crumbs on top. The beer was meh given all the great beer in the area. I did really enjoy the stout since it was not overly sweet (CA stouts are too sweet)

A very cool, inviting Pacific Northwest vibe at this somewhat out-of-the-way pub in a commercial district out near w. 11th. and Bertelsen. Lots of outdoor seating with chainsaw carved bears and statues made by Troy, a local tree cutter turned artisan. Warm lights, colors and wood counter-tops and tables make this place a secret gem, not to mention two little stages, (outdoors and indoors) featuring local talent. And an added kudos for the high quality Bose sound-system for the musicians with a speaker pumping the music outside if you choose to enjoy the ambiance from the fresh air and multiple fire pits. The food is also solid, so if you like local live music and beers on tap, you will love this place! I had the burger and my husband had the fish 'n chips. Both were very good. If it weren't so far from our house, we'd probably be here every weekend. Stop in....you'll feel like you discovered a secret hang that only the locals know about.

This place is an "almost hidden" gem. We'd been wanting to try it since September when we were here for a wedding. The beers were different than anything I've ever had before in a good way. The food was over the top delicious! I had the Viking Dog. Who knew sauerkraut could be crispy? It's definitely a must visit if you're in the area!

Hidden & lovely spot out in the industrial westside area (the one on Willamette is nice too). We went for summer bingo on the outstanding patio. Minors welcome too.

At Viking, you know you're going to have a great time, mainly because the Braggot is good and if you're lucky, you can snag the table with the perfect picture of Christopher Walken on the cooler. This is definitely a great place to hang out in West Eugene! Love the energy!

The York pizza is the bomb and the beer was excellent. The fenrir stout and shieldmaiden saison are great picks.

The interior design is cozy and booths are a nice way to catch up with a small group. I think they're still working on food consistency and getting the menu down pat. My meat-eating friends were enjoying the wings, but one larger wing had blood inside; to the credit of the server, he took it away and brought another plate of wings on the house, and no problems with the second plate. I got the cauliflower with salsa macha. The general flavor and idea for the dish were good, but the dish was SO salty that it was hard to eat. I found myself scraping off the salsa macha to create bites that didn't sting the tongue (I was pretty hungry). It seemed like someone wasn't tasting each component of the dish in the kitchen and sent out a plate that was almost too salty to eat. There aren't a ton of vegetarian options here and it's pricey, so I'm not sure I'll return. I miss the old Coldfire with DOP.

From the moment we walked in, we loved the classic brewery vibe--laid-back, welcoming, and super clean. The food, drinks, and service were all genuinely fantastic. I was honestly shocked that it was so empty on a Sunday afternoon because this spot deserves to be packed. It's the perfect place to enjoy a drink, hang out, and grab some really delicious food. The nachos were SO GOOD--we nearly polished off the entire plate without even trying. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the potato soup were both incredibly comforting, flavorful, and exactly what we were craving. One of the sweetest touches was when we asked the owner if she had any cards, and she actually loaned us a deck of UNO to play while we hung out. This location of Heritage is about a block away from where my sister used to live (with Hop Valley kiddy-corner and Thinking Tree a block or two in the other direction!). When I was home about a year or so after HDC opened their spot in Whiteaker (their first in Eugene), my friend and I felt compelled to visit, and we didn't even need to worry about finding a cab! Of course the brown sugar bourbon was the number one thing we wanted to try here. It's what put HDC on the map, right? We each ordered a flight. Mine was the aforementioned BSB, a huckleberry vodka, and the BSB 103--a higher proof version. Even if I got more bang for my buck with the last one, I didn't like it as much; for me, the flavor didn't surface as much in the 103 for what I could tell. I liked the others a lot; the huckleberry vodka was good, and I bought a bottle of the original recipe Brown Sugar Bourbon to take back with me. When we were here it was pretty quiet--only one other table filled up whilst we were here. (And this was pre-pandemic, 2017.) The bartender was helpful and willing to answer the questions we had about both the flight options and the cocktail I added on. The space is nice and clean, an upscale tasting room in the heart of Eugene. Eugene is growing up a bit, and I love that my hometown has some cool places to be. Will visit again when I'm home.
