Warning!!! The "nose hit" upon entering this establishment is worth the drive. Rich warm mixed spirits fill your senses upon arrival. I grabbed a sammi from "Cheese Bliss" parked out front. Settled in for lunch and ordered a custom Bloody Mary. Ghost pepper vodka, spicy juice, (medium) spicy salt rim. "Mike-drop" excellent with a good grilled cheese sammi. I was invited to sample some spirits by Scott. He's smooth. After lunch I left with a smile and 4 bottles. Give this place a try. It's a worthy experience. read more

Well, now that Heritage has sold off it's trademark Brown Sugar Bourbon and this review has been chillin in my drafts for a few years, this seems as good a time to publish as any! This location of Heritage is about a block away from where my sister used to live (with Hop Valley kiddy-corner and Thinking Tree a block or two in the other direction!). When I was home about a year or so after HDC opened their spot in Whiteaker (their first in Eugene), my friend and I felt compelled to visit, and we didn't even need to worry about finding a cab! Of course the brown sugar bourbon was the number one thing we wanted to try here. It's what put HDC on the map, right? We each ordered a flight. Mine was the aforementioned BSB, a huckleberry vodka, and the BSB 103--a higher proof version. Even if I got more bang for my buck with the last one, I didn't like it as much; for me, the flavor didn't surface as much in the 103 for what I could tell. I liked the others a lot; the huckleberry vodka was good, and I bought a bottle of the original recipe Brown Sugar Bourbon to take back with me. When we were here it was pretty quiet--only one other table filled up whilst we were here. (And this was pre-pandemic, 2017.) The bartender was helpful and willing to answer the questions we had about both the flight options and the cocktail I added on. The space is nice and clean, an upscale tasting room in the heart of Eugene. Eugene is growing up a bit, and I love that my hometown has some cool places to be. Will visit again when I'm home. read more

After having a great afternoon here, we're convinced that we need to return and buy our own cask. Hubby ordered the Heritage select whiskey flight and enjoyed all of them. I tried the fig old fashioned, which was definitely the best flavored old fashioned I've ever had. They also had a strawberry slush that I added strawberry vodka to which turned out to be a welcome respite from the record heat. We were huge fans of all the whiskeys we tried, and the bartenders were so friendly and skilled at drink making. We enjoyed our conversation with the bartender from Hawaii! This will be a must stop when we next find ourselves in Eugene. read more

Heritage Distilling Co. Eugene - Whiteaker - Cocoa Bomb Chocolate whiskey cocktail - Distilleries Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

The first time we visited the distillery, we had amazing service, so we decided to take some family there for my birthday. There were two different servers there and they were both pretty terrible, at times being downright rude. We ordered the smoked bourbon drink, which is usually a bit of a show, and the bartender did it behind the counter without showing us. No presentation at all. He kept rolling his eyes at us. The girl was short with us and acted like we weren't welcome there because we had a big group (there were 8 of us). We knew it wouldn't be cheap taking that many people there, but thought it would be worth it because the first time was awesome. Well, those two ruined it for us and we won't be back. read more

Stepped in during the last call. Not the best time to go since there's a house rule where they can't serve cocktail with flights. They have to wait 20 min till they could serve another drink after another. However the Lemon drop was fantastic and really refreshing. Bought couple of the florescent vodka home. Will def come earlier next time. read more

We saw this place and had to go inside asap! So much fun and the staff were great! We like how you can pick and choose what samples and cocktails you want. I appreciate that you can try something different each time. Our cocktails were delicious and it was a really neat place to sit inside. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

I am here to lament about the discontinuing of my precious Brown Sugar Bourbon. Jamie Foxx purchased the popular brand and I am utterly heartbroken that it will no longer be sold by Heritage. As of right now the new BSB is not available within the area. I am really hoping that it is soon. I am also here to talk about Heritage's new Cocoa Bomb, a chocolate whiskey. I find this to be a great whiskey with a subtle chocolate flavor and a smooth finish. I had it in the cocoa strawberry cocktail at the distillery then took a bottle home to make a chocolate old-fashioned. Sure, it's no BSB, but it's a sweet replacement, literally. read more

My wife and I went here just to see if a few rumors that I had heard were true. We had heard there was a private barrel club and that you could store your own whiskey there as well. One was true, the other... sorta. First off, there is no food served here but we were happy to hear that you are allowed to bring in food from some of the local food carts, and so we did. Pulled pork with whiskey is a great combination by the way. We also found out that they can only serve a certain amount of alcohol to a person per day. So choose wisely what you get. The rumor about the barrel club was true. It is a bit expensive to get in, and there is a "long" waiting list. However, to have something like this in town is pretty cool. You can't store "your own" whiskey there but once you join the club you can store your own barrel there and let it age. The drinks are really good and although seating is limited, it's a great atmosphere and the staff is great. They answered a lot of my questions, made some good suggestions on drinks, and I even went home with a bottle of the BSB103. A great place for drinks with friends! Definitely worth a visit. read more

My. Ask #750 is front and center. Build your own "Custom" cask of spirits with their "Cask Club". Run, Gin, Vodka and Bourbon. When you are a cask club member, flights are free for you and some friends. On the weekends the Bloody Mary bar is epic. Worth a stop or an evening. If you haven't tried BSB you are definitely missing out. read more

I absolutely love their Bloody Mary bar but for me the garnishes are a nice to have the truth is in the taste of the actually drink. At Heritage you choose the rim salt, the vodka flavors and the mix, so the success is really on you. The garnish selection is a meal in itself they don't skimp, you want pickle juice, got it, you want extra hot, pick from the plethora of hot sauce selections, cheese, salami, pickled garlic and many more and the best part to all of this....$7.50 yep $7.50 so drink up. read more

What a great way to sample local vodka, whiskey, bourbon & gin. We visited twice and each visit was very nice. Flight of 5 $8, or you can pay for special mix drinks. Loved the BSB 103 (103 proof Brown Sugar Bourbon), purchased 1 bottle. Also tasted their vodka. Several flavors, and all taste just like they are labeled. Ended up purchasing two bottles to bring back to California for the wife (Mango & Blood Orange). On our second trip they provided a private tour, another special treat. I would definitely return in my next trip to Eugene. read more

What a great place! So many delicious spirits to try, and flights are profoundly reasonable in price. I tried a lavender cocktail--refreshing and not too sweet--and a few types of bourbon. I'm looking forward to buying some bottles as gifts in future. Note that they don't serve food there. It is a tasting room. Make sure to stuff your pockets with tots like Napoleon Dynamite. read more

i cannot emphasize enough how much i love Heritage! their liquor is absolutely amazing, one of my favorites being the Sweet Ghost Pepper vodka! it has the perfect mix of sweet and spice, and it smooth going down--which is saying alot for vodka!!! oh! and the Lavendar vodka is lovely too. and the Huckleberry. i get different drinks everytime i come, and they're all amazing, although i'm a slut for the slushies specials on hot summer days. the people working here are always super helpful and friendly and have great recommendations for when i'm feeling indecisive. located super close to the Whiteaker and Oakshire, it's a great place to stop for refreshments on a night out. my only wish is that they would stay open later than 7pm occasionally as sometimes that thwarts me from stopping by for a drink. ily, Heritage read more

We live quite a drive away from Heritage, but we make trips down to Eugene a few times a year, and I always look forward to it. First of all, Heritage products are delicious and high quality, with plenty of variety. The vodkas are tasty and so unique. Their little store is well stocked with all their products and mixers. The tasting room is so much fun, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. I always ask their opinions for new things to try, and they are always knowledgeable and fun to chat with. We've been several times, and every single time, I am impressed with their wonderful staff! read more

This place is so great! We stopped by for a few drinks- we got a mixed flight. The interior is very clean and modern with little barrels lining the wall with a wood/metal theme. I tried the lavender vodka, huckleberry vodka, gin, and the rosemary gimlet. The lavender vodka was so easy to drink! It had a hint of vanilla but wasn't overly floral. The huckleberry was fresh, slightly sweet, with a hint of tart. The gin was clean with a woodsy hint at the finish. The rosemary gimlet was so refreshing! The only con about this place is that they can only serve you one flight. They aren't able to serve any one person more than that- so choose your flight carefully! read more

Can I give like ten stars?! Because Heritage Distilling Company is just that GOOD! Let me break it down: SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: Fantastic! A large roll-up door providing tons of natural light, casks (for the "cask club") aging, various table-tops, an awesome wood-top bar, and even an upstairs seating area that overlooks the production area. Love! So can't wait to bring my fiance here on our next visit to Eugene! SERVICE: On point! You head to the bar and place your order with the friendly bartenders who guide you through your options and mix up your concoction of choice. Both the gent and the gal helping me were so incredibly friendly! The next day I even went in to exchange a purchase for a smaller size and the gal remembered me from the day prior. Sooo sweet! Def an amazing and passionate group of people. LIBATIONS: So much to choose from! Here at Heritage Distilling Company they distill their own gin, whiskey, and vodka! Wow! They offer a couple different drink flight options or you can, of course, opt for just the a la carte menu. On the weekends they offer a Bloody Mary Bar too! I went with the latter because I had a day of brewery hopping ahead of me and when doesn't a Bloody Mary sound amazing. You pick your rimshot (classic or bacon), pick your vodka (sweet ghost pepper, bacon, batch 12, or char barrel finished) then you choose your mix (classic, chilies and peppers, chipolte-habanero, or extra horseradish), and then you visit the garnish bar to load up your bloody with all the celery and pickled delights your heart desires! I did the bacon rimshot, with sweet ghost pepper vodka, and classic mix. Highly recommended!! I loaded it up with bacon, celery, green olives, pickles, and lemon. Mmm... Def a tasty bloody! SUSTENANCE: While Heritage Distilling Company doesn't feature a kitchen of their own; they DO host a variety of food trucks out front to feed their hungry patrons! Finni's Fine Foods was there slinging up some delish smelling sandwiches, pasta, and plates during my visit. Yum! MERCHANDISE: TONS! There's so many wonderful things that I wanted to take home with me including: full size bottles, minis, shirts, flasks, garnishes, and more! I brought home a shirt and a shot glass because I was concerned with trying to carry-on a bottle. Though they do offer shipping! Yay! I will def be frequenting Heritage Distilling Company on my future visits in Eugene and bringing everyone I know with me. Def a new favorite! read more

Heritage is a great place to meet someone for a date, quick drink, watch the game, etc. It feels upscale without being stuffy or overpriced. Their drink rotation is solid and changes often. The sweet and spicy cider is a must if you find yourself there during the winter months. Speaking of winter months, they've set up outdoor seating which is just gorgeous. Tents protecting you from the rain with beautiful tabletop heaters to keep you cozy. I don't have pictures of this particular set up but I'll update when I return to HDC ... because I will absolutely return. They also have indoor seating just inside large open garage doors and an upstairs room as well. Also worth the mention is the food truck on site. The Nosh Shop offers a variety of tasty treats that pair well with the beverages from HDC. The two menus absolutely compliment each other. When in doubt, get the charcuterie board for your table. There's a gift shop inside HDC with some great stuff. If you happen to fall in love with a specific drink they can fill up a to go bucket with everything you'll need to recreate it at home. Ie. Spirits, mixes, syrups, etc. And the bucket is cute! Metal bucket with HDC's logo on it and a handle. It would make a great gift! read more

Not only a great venue, but the quality of the alcohol offer was beyond extraordinary. You will never find more refined and tasteful blends anywhere. This is just an exceptional experience. I would recommend the Heritage line of beverages without question. I recently heard this company, now privately held, is going public with a future (but very soon) IPO. I would love to be in on the ground floor of this great company. read more

Not for the serious whisky drinker. Their staff was friendly. The place is trendy and looks cool. The wall of mini-casks highlighting all of the custom blends is fun to look at. Their whisky leaves a lot to be desired. Overly sweet, thin and young. We tried every whisky on the menu, and the only one worthy of a mention was the Brown Sugar Bourbon, which would be great over pancakes or in a coffee drink. Will return in a few years to see how they age. read more

I brought a friend on a Sunday for the Bloody Mary bar. Normally, I can get a solid meal out of a hard-core Bloody Mary bar with toppings such as bacon, mini-sausages, cheese, pickes, celery, and even mini-cheeseburgers, hot wings, and donuts. Don't come here expecting that. There are a variety of mixes and alcohol to choose from for your Bloody. The "Bloody Mary bar" wasn't what I expected. Most of the BMBs I've been to allow you to craft your entire drink from scratch and choose from a smorgasbord of garnish and toppings. This place crafts the beverage for you (which they do well at), and you choose the garnish you want, which includes only the basics (celery, pickled things, cheese, citrus). The drinks were delicious, but if you're looking for a hard-core Bloody Mary bar, you won't find it here. We ended up doing a drink/tasting combo, for 1 Bloody Mary and 3 tastes, but there are other options if you want more cocktails or more tastings. They're not really a bar, despite the fact that they make cocktails. They're more of a tasting room, so the amount of alcohol they can serve you is very limited. Nonetheless, we learned a lot about the different spirits they distill on site. I left with 3 bottles of alcohol, a bunch of minis, chocolates, shot glasses, and a t-shirt. That alone should tell you how much I enjoyed it here! I highly recommend! read more

Visited here the other night with a friend. It was clean and upscale quality which is a must for me. Prices were reasonable. We shared a tasting flight and I fell in love with the mango vodka. They also have great merchandise. I scored a heritage tank top. I know this will be a go to place for gifts because you can score some unique products and have a great gift basket for the vodka or whiskey connoisseurs. This would be a fun place not only for a date but for a group of friends just looking for something different then the usual. They offer detailed classes on the whole process of distilling that I'm eager to look into in the future. Eugene has been in need of something like this for a while. read more

For me, it didn't deliver on the hype. The space is beautiful and very well put together. But the staff was about as friendly as a wooden pole and the service was pretty atrocious for the space that we were in. I was a little disappointed in the selection of drinks they offered. For how much every talks about the great selection of vodka, gin, etc. they only offer a small selection of drinks using it. The background music also seemed a little out of place. I think it was some sort of alternative pop which didn't fit the vibe of the location at all. Maybe I was just there on an off day, but it didn't come close to living up to the hype for me. read more

It was my first time at the Heritage Distilling Co, but it won't be my last. They have many amazing flavored vodka's & Bourbon's. We tried this spot out on our anniversary on 4-7-2018. The atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant, it was clean and the service was excellent and professional. We tried some tasting flights, my husband got a few whiskeys and the whiskey sour bevanda. We didn't really like the whiskeys he tried, he felt like they tasted like a too-quick distill. I got one sample of the sweet ghost pepper vodka, the whiskey sour bevanda and another citrus drink I forgot the name of. The sweet ghost pepper vodka is excellent! I highly recommend it. The citrus Deik (it had pineapple in it) was ok, not spectacular. The sours were also ok. We like it with the egg white, we enjoy making it that way at home, but we add paprika or red pepper or something to give it a little kick. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, I just don't feel like we lucked out with the samples and drinks we tried. Next time we'll pick mostly different things to try. read more

I stopped by Heritage first to grab a gift card and then again to come and enjoy the gift card for my boyfriend's birthday. First of all, on a busy evening the parking lot is impossible to park in. There are only about 8 spots or so and street parking can fill up fast too. When I purchased the gift card I figured I could get enough for a couple flight tastings and then we could order drinks after since you can only purchase the gift card in increments of $25. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly bartender and given all of the info on what to try and how to try it. One thing I was not informed of when I bought the gift card was that they only allow about two ounces of alcohol per person so their tastings are 1/2 an ounce each. I was a little bummed because I thought we could have our tastings and then at least one cocktail. This should have been mentioned to me when I purchased the gift card but it wasn't a huge deal. We sampled some flavored vodkas, gin, and whiskeys. I really liked the blood orange vodka and the crisp gin. The brown sugar whiskey was so sweet and would probably have tasted good in a cocktail but not straight. The aesthetic of their distillery is really clean and modern and I love the merchandise they have for sale. I want to come back and try one of their cocktails sometime soon! read more
