I heard from friends and family that some of the old menu favorites had returned, so I decided to return to awaken my taste buds from their 7 Devils slumber. Food-I had my favorites the fried oysters and grilled cheese with an endless summer blonde Service-Excellent. I've almost always have had great friendly service here. Always attentive, with a smile & cheery personalities! You may even get a hug if you're a local Value-Acceptable prices if the food is going to be good and served by happy wait staff. If not, I would think they may be a bit on the pricey side for like the grilled cheese but the oysters were huge! Totally worth the price. The yummy dipping sauce I could drink! Vibe-It has returned for me. Thank you, 7 Devils were bringing back some of the old local favorites! Maybe potine or those yummy pickled carrots? ...oh my are they so good!!! read more

Ate there yesterday. The pleasant ambience included a live musician; and the wait staff were friendly and welcoming. My companion ordered the Mac and cheese which he found, "Ok." Not something to look forward to or desire to order again. I ordered the "Tortilla chips topped with black beans, queso fresca, red onions, poblano cheese sauce, guacamole, salsa, and cilantro." Unfortunately, the food I received only remotely resembled the above menu description. Although topped with generous guacamole, that could not in any way make up for the rest of the dish... Sparse black beans, no queso fresco, the few chopped tomatoes may have been considered "salsa," and no cilantro. The *cold* chips were generously covered with unheated room temperature "poblano cheese sauce" that seemed to be an unappealing flavorless flour and water mixture. There was *no* detectable cheese or pablano chili's in taste or appearance. Although it's been some time since we last ate there, the food then was truly good. My Rockfish tacos were tiny but tasted good. She had the Panzanella chicken salad, which was also paltry. I just wished my chips came with some kind of salsa. The place was packed on a Thursday evening, so service was a bit slower. If you want a Stella Artois you're out of luck, as they exclusively serve microbrews only. read more

We stopped in for lunch during a trip to the OR coast. The service is friendly and started off quick. Unfortunately we had trouble getting our check and paying so we could be on our way. We shared a cup of gumbo and 3 beef tacos. The gumbo was great! Big chunks of veggies and chicken. The tacos were a little dry but adding a lot of the green salsa helped. There are lots of pictures and posters of past music events making it interesting to look around. read more

Recent visit this week to 7 Devils with my daughter. 7 Devils use to be my friends & family go to place whenever we wanted to eat out, which would be sometimes 1-3 or 4 times a month, however we've been so disappointed since their menu change and hardly ever go now which is sad as the restaurant is beautiful and Ive always loved the vibe, I've been a patron since they first opened. I felt they took pride previously in using "local" as they advertised. To me 7 Devils has always had that pub feel and the dishes they served matched that vibe for me with the fried tuna dish, poutine, tuna melt, chicken bites, and grabbing a beer, basically literally everything on their old menu. However since their menu change we hardly even want to eat or spend money there. They removed the poutine made with local cheese curds and house made gravy to nachos and nacho fries?? Removing many of the original dishes they opened with that made the food pairing with their beer a place we wanted to return to again and again. Now you can get tacos & nachos, which I can get so many places in town, soup and/ or salad, some sandwiches, etc. Personally feel their food menu does not fit the vibe of the restaurant. With fries, side salad, red potatoes and veggies being replaced with tortilla chips. Perhaps a way to cut costs and focus on their Waterfront restaurant? Now the kids chicken meal costs $9 for three small, and when I say small they are extremely small pieces of chicken and tortilla chips, for a kids meal. To me it's strange to get tortilla chips with chicken strips, especially for a kids meal, my daughter left hungry. I had the Banh mi which I tried previously and it had been absolutely delicious before, however on this visit the pork was so very dry even the sauce didn't help it, it wasn't as spicy with the jalapeños, maybe had one or two of them on there, there was no love in making the food. Somethings changed and it's sad to see one of my friends and family's favorite restaurants be a place we no longer desire to go to, the food doesn't drive us there, maybe a beer but who wants to go to a place to just grab a beer and not have a snack? Especially when there are other options that have nachos and tortilla chips, tortilla chips that are free at all Mexican restaurants in town, you need to stand out and have delicious want to come back food and fare. I asked if the poutine would ever return and was told no since a restaurant up the street decided to do poutine they did not want to compete??? But having tacos and nachos like many restaurants in town isn't competing? I was told word is the poutine is awful at this "other" place, so then please 7 Devils just bring it back. I get it restaurants need to change menus. But if things are popular and make people who are paying customers want to come to your place of business and support you again and again please listen to them. I've talked to many people who also agree. I feel this affects their business. I've noticed in the few times I've gone during what should be a busy lunch time is not as busy as it use to be previously, maybe a coincidence? read more

I sat at the bar as the place was busy/ Ryan was my bartender/ server- I ordered coffee that came kind of lukewarm/ the young lady bartender sorry missed her name made a fresh pot and brought it right away/ great coffee! Ordered a calamari appetizer/ now I'm 69 and spent my Summers in Monterey California and I know calamari and oysters/ the calamari was perfectly cooked and delicious top 5 that I have ever had! Sat there a few minutes and Ryan happily answered all my questions about craft beers and popular drinks/ then I ordered the oyster appetizer- again 5 or 6 small oysters with dipping sauce and they were cooked perfectly as well! If the appetizers are that good I can only imagine what the entrees are like! I looked at the menu and the entrees were all reasonably priced/ you better get on over to this place I highly recommend it some of the best calamari and oysters I have had in my lifetime and I have eaten a lot of both! I enjoyed at dinner with my team here after a work event, and I will definitely want to come back. Every single menu item is very carefully composed, and I enjoyed the fried oysters for an appetizer, and the fall themed bowl with chicken as an added protein. I ordered the Dark and Stormy, which definitely had a strong ginger presence, as described, but was not strong in terms of alcohol. The menu featured a cucumber margarita, which listed a cucumber simple syrup as a key ingredient, and I asked for a drink that would feature that but with a different alcohol base, and the server suggested gin. When he brought it out, he described it as a cucumber equivalent of a lemon drop and I absolutely loved it. A couple of friends who tried it were also really impressed with it. The oysters were perfect; fresh out of the fryer, I decided to live dangerously as I picked one up with my hand right away. I didn't try the aioli because of Tabasco being a key ingredient in it but my friend added it to their own fall bliss bowl and said it was just what it needed. I am glad I added chicken to the fall bliss bowl, the server said another choice of protein was bacon, which was not initially on the menu. I would have paid extra for a savory or creamy sauce to flavor the bowl some more as the chicken comes out grilled but plain and the primary grain base of the bowl is also not spiced or seasoned at all. Mushrooms are also known for absorption of flavor as opposed to one of their own, especially the crimini kind, which is the type in this dish. Overall, I can't wait to eat here again! I might request another one of these cucumber drop type of concoctions as it was delightful and very refreshing even when served without ice. read more

I had my 2nd visit here recently. The 1st time I really enjoyed the fried chicken wrap so much and how it went so wonderfully with the Endless Summer Blonde. I kept thinking about that forever, and was happy to return. This 2nd time back was about 6 months later, and the menu had changed. I got the chicken sandwich which was great too. But I liked the wrap better, especially as the Summer Blonde goes wonderfully with avocado. I enjoyed the Blonde so much I bought a pack (and the one of the Coos Light) to take back to Washington with me. Turns out they both went terrific with my salads, especially the avocado and tomato, and my quesadillas. Both visits I had very friendly and helpful service. What a gem this place is. Having to spend some time while my vehicle was being serviced. I stopped here to try their gumbo. It did not taste like gumbo or have the texture one gets from the liquid part when using gumbo file but if this had been crawfish etouffe, it would have been okay. I have not had any gumbo since being in Louisiana back in the late 90's so it was with anticipation of enjoying this dish that led me to 7 Devils. Service? The ladies handling the place are very nice. Inside one sees plenty of clean attractive space. I do not imbibe alcoholic beverages but a good meal will keep me coming back. Alas, the gumbo did not do the trick so that is why I gave a 4-star rating. YMMV when it comes to dining here. Everything else seems fine as can be though! read more
