With a storm blowing in we were craving some clam chowder. Homegrown did satisfy that craving! Unfortunately, service was a little slow because there was only one waiter. Luckily, we were in no rush. Appearance - The warm string lights created a nice, cozy vibe. (Maybe the rained helped too!) Overall, the food was plated well. Taste- Garlic Parmesan fries- mmm so delicious with a yummy aioli to dip them in! Would highly recommend! Caution if you're sensitive to garlic... be aware that the parmesan can easily be mistaken for garlic chunks! Steamers- My husband got this and said it was very fresh and he enjoyed the broth. I tried it but I'm not a huge wine person and to me the broth was very heavy wine flavored. Fried Fish Cod Sandwich- Unfortunately I learned on this outing that I don't really love cod. The burger was cooked perfectly and the cook did a good job, but it lacked a sort of flavor that I expect. The BBQ sauce and cheese were ok, the bun was standard, something was just off about it, can't really say what it was. Like I said, will return as it seems like a few locals were there and those are the types of places to go to! Plus, think they're one of the few restaurants in the area close to ocean.

I love doing local and Beachcomber represents that local anchor that is befitting of anyplace that has survived over three decades. We were starving and couldn't wait around for poor service to drag their feet so we left. The place was also filthy. It was sticky, dirty, and smelled like old cigarettes. I'm fairly certain someone started smoking while we were there because the smell got stronger out of nowhere. Bathrooms were dingy and graffitied. Bar full of what looked like regulars. The food I did see (some kind of soup, maybe?) looked greasy and clumpy. Avoid if you value your time and health!

The beers are experimental and creative with their beers making some pretty unusual beers that taste great! We have had three of their beers so far on two separate occasions and both times the beers were very impressive and enjoyable! One of the beers we had was the Thumb Ring. A Wild Ale that was excellent. It was aged on peaches, blackberries and coconut. Flavors featured with this beer are tartness, peachy, cherry and a hint of purposeful mustiness. Wit Bat was another beer we had. Also a Wild Ale this beer was wonderful also! Flavors to find with this Ale are tartness and jam like. The jam like qualities come from the marionberries and the Coriander brings it an extra depth. A very effervescent and elegant Ale. The third beer we had was the Earl of Tenmile. This was a Sour Ale with flavors of tart, sour, some sweetness and a clean finish. It is a blend of two and four year spontaneously fermented Ales. Such great beers and ales Draper has to offer and I would love to continue to explore with more of their beverage options which I hope would be in the near future.
