This place lost my business tonight. It sounds like they had a hard night. The bartender walked out. However, I waited an hour for an overcooked overpriced flatbread pizza. I watched other people served before me. And when the server brought out more food, I asked if it was mine and he gave it to me begrudgingly. The bartender who ended up making drinks couldn't get my drink right. But she did manage to bring four drinks to her friend who was sitting across from me. And they had plenty to eat.. We had to wait over an hour to sit. Just from beginning to end a very disappointing, expensive experience. Would not recommend the restaurant on a Monday night. And I won't come back. read more

I have been there twice. On both occasions the food was ok, but the Short Rib French onion soup had the cheese nicely Baked over the top however the soup itself was barely warm. We had the same type of issue on the prior visit. The Brussel sprouts and the Bearnaise sauce both came out barely room temperature to cool. What a gem just off West Shores Lake! Fantastic patio view and warm/classy/modern interior. Enough of that though. Chef Joel is cook'n folks! Crispy shrimp deviled eggs (game changer) and a freaking bread board for starters. Next up was a the farmers pizza, bison filet/lobster tail, and braised short rib (my favorite). Don't leave without ordering the dessert martini/donut hole flight. Service was impeccable from our server and bartender/server out on the patio afterwards. I had an exceptional beautiful Dry aged mid-rare Ribeye Oscar style, the best Brussel sprouts, a glass of Pinot Noir and a side of a brown butter Old Fashion:) For starters we had a bread board (must have every time you visit) with unbelievable oysters on the half shell. Great atmosphere with modern styling. Wonderful service with gm, server, runners circulating often and quickly filling water and removing plates. We had the breadboard app, which was a bit pricey but was a fun idea and tasty. Worked for the two of us but might get tricky with more people to share with. I got the cauliflower steak as an entree which was a wonderfully balanced vegetarian dish with crunchy clickpeas, pickled onions, herbaceous chimichurri, and nicely spiced hummus purée with a kick! As urban core dwellers we don't make it out beyond Elkhorn very often, but shame on me. Beyond the edge of suburbia exists a restaurant that hits so far above its location. Upon arrival I could tell this would be a five star review. The hosts greeted us professionally, showed us to our reserved table, the service team took over from there. The Brussels sprout starter was awesome along with the deviled eggs. We enjoyed the burger, beet risotto and the cauliflower steak. All were created to perfection, given their differences in proteins. This chef has done an amazing job building a menu that is diverse enough so that you don't feel limited, while also retaining some foundational dishes with an elevated twist. Do not skip this place and enjoy the drive. It's closer to Omaha than Casa Bovina, but of similar quality. read more

Drinks are pretty good but for Omaha, pricey. The French onion soup is unique and worth it. They book more than can PROPERLY serve. We waited for almost/over an hour for every dish to be served, and when the food arrived on our table it looked rushed and messy, more so, the taste was not worth it. In addition, I have requested for an inside dining, with a good corner seat at that time, rather they gave me a cold and breezy spot fixed with a not so clean transparent cover. Also, tables are very close to each other that you can bump other guest and hear them very loud and clear with their conversation. We had the pleasure of dining tonight at Salted Edge. Let's start with the open kitchen concept. It was very cool! The chefs were not hidden away. It is very hip and forward thinking. Our server was Christine. She was incredibly attentive to every detail from our drink orders to whether or not my food came out, as ordered. The high end Omaha and surrounding area restaurants are going to need to keep an eye on this place because while it's a little bit off our Dodge Hwy 6 beaten path, its really not that far to go opposite the old market and fighting for parking. This is the opposite of all of that... It's a relaxing, airy environment, comfortable patio, lake and sunsets to gaze at while sipping a crafted cocktail. The menu is ever changing, Chef inspired by a world renowned chef and his staff. My burger was a tiny, teeny bit under what I ordered.. tiny... my server took it without my asking and the head chef personally took care of it and brought it to our table, himself. That's unheard of in Omaha! My husband had the short ribs and they not only looked amazing, the beef was tender and perfect. Then, there's the shrimp deviled eggs! Oh. Yes! Delicious! I mean it was fine. However, while it's priced and poised like it was fine dining, the service, ambiance and the food didn't live up to it. Not sure if it was just leveraging the view of the lake or the area but overall it felt rather overpriced. The service felt very casual but even awkward at times with weird questions like if we had any questions before we even sat down or "how's the food look" before we even got a bite in. I mean I guess it looks "okay." The seating was also awkward and not very intimate. We were a 2 top but seated so close to the next larger group that we felt like part of their table and conversation. As for the food, the bread bowl was probably the best part. It was paired with the different butters and the biscuit and the corn bread were quite good--but it was somewhat downhill from there. Perhaps we ordered poorly but the menu was confusing and suffered from almost too many options. It was hard to tell whether it was the entrees , the steaks, or the pizza that was their signature. I get it. Modern American dining can have a pretty wide range but maybe have less options and execute them well. Anyway, the server explained it to be somewhat Trinadian-inspired which led to us ordering the mahi-mahi and the scallops. The mahi-mahi was overcooked and dry meanwhile the Caribbean-spiced cream was lacking in both flavor and spice. The scallops were fine but the accoutrements were nothing exciting. I could not tell you where the bacon snow or chili beurre blanc ended up but it likely just got lost in the bed of farro/kale mixture. We were not even half-finished with the entrees when the server butt in to try sell us on the desserts. Even then they tried to hook us with "no bake" Key lime cheesecake and a chocolate dessert repurposing the same cracker crust base, which led us to a hard pass. Maybe their desserts might have been decent due to their affiliated donut shop next door? At this point though, we may never know as there is a good chance we won't be back. read more
