I had a fabulous experience getting a professional color lightening treatment for the first time from Salon G/Yesenia upon the recommendation of a friend who knew I was interested in going bronde/blond as a dark brown haired (with about 30 percent gray), mature lady with delicate, thin, curly/2C/3B hair. My appointment was in August 2025. I was so nervous leading up to my appointment, but was put at complete ease the moment I entered the salon. Salon G was a beautiful facility and my styling magician, Yesenia Arnott, was AMAZING. I've debated for a few months whether or not to post this review. But after seeing my former stylist who told me the extent of damage done to my hair, as well as the subpar color, I need to warn others. Andrea Moreno has no business installing extensions. I very clearly explained what I was looking for and she assured me that she was qualified to install tape-in extensions. I asked for my own hair to be matched to the extensions but didn't book the time to do both despite discussing it. So she rushed with the color and it was evident. Once I got home I realized how much she had ripped me off and the foiling looked like a dye job from 1998. She installed my tape-in extensions fast... I mean 20 minutes, if that. There was zero care given to placement or the fact that heat needs to be applied to the tape once installed. She put them way too close to the root as well. This caused massive tearing from my scalp, and 5 extensions ripped out within two weeks. I now have bald spots all over my head. I've been wearing tape-ins since 2015 and this was by far the worst experience ever. There is so much damage that I cannot install the same amount of extensions as I used to. It will take me months, if not over a year to reverse the damage she has done. To add insult to injury, Andrea had the nerve to charge over $400 for this subpar job. I have been seeing Andrea Moreno for years. She has always done an exceptional job with my color and cuts! I would without a doubt recommend her to anyone I know. I don't give five stars very often and The Salon G is deserving of it. Garik the owner is phenomenal. He's been doing my hair (cut, color, highlights, Balayage ) for years. He's listens to what I want and discusses honestly about expectations. There other stylists at the salon are always busy and the clients look amazing afterwards. I have been getting extensions for the past 10 years, started off with clip ins and then moved to tapes. Had a lot of breakage and a couple of bald spots from the adhesive on the tapes being removed from my previous stylist (I'm platinum too) and have very short hair so I was devastated. I was looking for an alternative stylist and then I met Jayla, the besssst decision I ever made for my hair! She changed my hair home care to where my hair has grown healthier even with it being bleached and switched me from tapes to wefts, which is LIFE CHANGING! I have to say.. I THOUGHT I found the right hair stylist for my girls and I with Stylist ANDREA VOSS at Salon G. But I was wrong! Extremely disappointed. I confirmed my appointment several times only because my last one was re-scheduled. So when I confirmed my appointment with ANDREA ,which was not for weeks ahead, and told was told it was all set in stone. Here we are the day before, it was confirmed via text. Day of is finally here, all confirmed.. THEN, guess what, my appointment was canceled the day of! Needless to say, I was extremely upset, but took empathy because it was due to illness. Catch 22 type deal, I had an engagement to go to and was told to go to another Salon!! In which I did! I was pretty taken back by having to do so, etc.. It was a blessing in disguise! I discussed this with my daughter who was very adamant about going to her appointment, and explained to her the potential consequences. GUESS WHAT!? It happened again! Today September 8th, my daughter calls me and says Mom, she canceled! I knew it! ( we all have busy lives, and having to rearrange our schedules so our appointments can only be cancelled sucks!) I can not express how this is just awful business, and making the Salon look bad on top of it! Sorry not sorry!! Stylist Voss, we really loved the way you did our hair, but to be constantly canceling appointments with us and others is really bad, and extremely disappointing.. You should have contacted my daughter and canceled way before today! You disappointed not only myself, my daughter and others. I drive all the way from Elk Grove to see Garik because he is beyond amazing. My hair always turns out so nice. The color is always phenomenal and he knows what he is doing. My daughter wanted to go blonde from dark brown hair. She walked into the salon and the owner said Andrea would do her hair. After Texting, Andrea said send a pic so my daughter did. She said the cost would be $225. When my daughter got there, Andrea was running late so she had to wait 30 minutes. Andrea proceeded to cut 6" of her hair off then decided that wasn't comfortable coloring my daughters hair and to go some place else. Did not recommend another stylist in the salon, but to go elsewhere! What the heck? Andrea spoke with the owner who told her todo a strand test first, which I guess she didnt know that, so when the owner walked away, she told my daughter to go elsewhere. My daughter left the salon in tears and a crappy short haircut! So very unprofessional and a total waste of time. Maybe some else in the salon would be better, but I would recommend staying away from Andrea. read more

I apologize if this comes off a bit ranty, but this situation thoroughly annoyed me. I can't speak for every hair stylist there, but Andrea, specifically, should be avoided. To paint the picture, I have money pieces and the underside of my hair dyed pink. Normally, I have my friend do it because her mom used to be a hairstylist, and 15 dollars is a heck of a lot cheaper than 100. Despite this, I used to occasionally got to Andrea when I needed a touch up, but didn't want to abuse my friends kindness. Normally, she was fine. She wasn't super friendly or anything but she got the job done, so I didn't complain. She charged 100 for color and I would normally tip her 20%. Although my experiences with her were normally fairly good my last experience with her was absolutely awful. I asked her to touch up my roots and dye my hair pink again. First flag is that she didn't buy enough of the color that she needed so she had to use two different pinks. Not normally a big deal, but with what she pulled later, it ticked me off. While bleaching my roots, she offered to do a mask on my hair since it was a little dry, but failed to notify me that she would be charging me 25 dollars for a rinse that was all of two minutes. Usually, you'll get a head massage or something, but she literally put it in, rinsed it out, then moved on. In addition, she charged me 20 dollars more for color this time, charging me 120 instead of 100. She charged me 130 for just bleaching my roots, mind you, only a third of my hair is dyed, and charged me 25 dollars for her subpar "hair mask". This last charge was kind of my fault because I asked for a hair cut because I was going to college for my freshman year the next week, so I wanted a clean cut. With Covid-19, I normally just had a family member cut my hair, so I forgot that haircuts can be kinda pricey, but she charged 75 dollars. 75 dollars for a bad hair cut! I came home with tons of split ends. In addition. I found that parts of my side burns were still brown when she specifically said she wanted to focus on them since my friend and I had never bleached them. In total, she charged me 350, and I'm dumb so I tipped so it came out to 401. Normally, I wouldn't have minded these small thing, but if you're going to blatantly overcharge me, it'd be nice if she could do a good job. I don't mean to be rude, but like up charging by 20% for color is ridiculous; charging 130 dollars for my roots where only a third of my hair needed to be done is ridiculous; not disclosing that you are going to charge me for something that you offered is dishonest and ridiculous, and charging 75 dollars for a hair cut I can get at Supercuts is ridiculous. I was a repeat customer, so I was stunned by her blatant greed. If you wanna try this place out, go for it. It has a nice atmosphere, but I'd recommend going to someone other than her. She was greedy, and didn't do a good enough job to justify her prices. Edit: Also, she doesn't put any sort of conditioner or anything in you hair to help your hair color last, so if you're going to go for a bright color, I'd suggest getting one specifically to help keep your hair healthy and one that helps keep the color in. I get mine from Sally's. It's like 15 bucks and works like a charm. Good luck with your hair! :)) read more
