This review is for Christy! I was a walk-in appointment and luckily there was availability with not too long of a wait for a basic haircut. In the past I've been not so thrilled with how my hair turned out, especially since I'm not asking for anything out of the ordinary. The last couple of times from other stylists my ends have looked choppy, and I have to curl it inward to hide it. I communicated my concern to Christy, who asked me lots of questions, took her time, and even gave me some advice on some hair products I was using. The most memorable moment was when she asked me to stand up from my chair toward the end so that she could check her work to make sure that my ends were even. I've never had that kind of attention toward what I feel is a pretty basic, boring haircut (which is exactly what I wanted). Amazing 1st experience at the bellabe salon!! I got a haircut, washed and styled, everything came out exactly as I wanted!! I wanted to keep my same kind of haircut, just do more of a trim, nothing too big. I have long layers in the back, face framing layers, and some long curtain bangs with a center part. The haircut was perfect, just as I wanted. The wash and style came out so great, much better than I ever expected! I wanted a blowout look, got a SUPER bouncy blowout (exactly as I wanted!!) and it looked so great! After showing my family and friends, I got so many compliments. :)) The customer service was great! I'm not one to write bad reviews but I was particularly annoyed and irritated with my recent experience here! I went to Bellabe for the first time many months ago and got highlights done! I liked my stylist a lot but when it was time for a touch up, she wasn't available and directed me to Ellaine! It started out well enough with her reaching out and discussing my options and then she set up an appointment for a particular Friday. Now the Tuesday of that week she messages me confirming my appointment for Wednesday. Naturally I was puzzled cuz the appointment was for Friday which I reminded her to which she responded she doesn't have Friday available and if I cancel last moment I'll have to pay full price. Luckily I had the receipts to prove that I wasn't wrong and sent her the screenshots of her saying she was booking me for Friday to which she responds that she's sorry but she made a mistake and won't be able to take me cuz she already has someone else booked for the day! That's it. Nothing else. Nothing about how she can make it up, whether she can accommodate me another day! She just said talk to the salon and that while I did indeed confirm Friday "that's not gonna a change a thing". Now obviously, I was pissed and told her this was ridiculous and the only reason I even continued the conversation was because the previous stylist whom I like suggested her and this was very unprofessional to which she didn't even have the decency to reply. And while this may not seem like a big deal, I'm only writing such a big review to point out the hypocrisy in the system where the phrase "the customer is always right" is used only to point the flaws in that statement but what when the business is actually wrong? If I had canceled less than 24 hours no matter how serious and legit the reason, I would have been expected to pay full price but if the business makes a mistake there are absolutely no consequences?! I called them to let them know what happened and while the person on the phone seemed considerate and took a message no one even got back! Well, I won't be returning for sure! You called and spoke with the owner demanding a time that was booked by other guests. We apologize, but we do not move existing guests to accommodate others. My reply to the owner: Please stop lying. Even in your response above you're contradicting yourself. You assured us during our initial appointment that you'll accommodate our next visit, being a short and fast "tidy-up" haircut. I called your salon five days in advance of a possible appointment and no one answered. I left a voice message asking that you, Alisa, would please call me back and agree on a time. In my voice message I also informed you that the times listed on your website would not work for us, and that's why we would need to talk in person. I was following your instruction of "calling in advance" before booking. I kept on calling the next day and still no one answered, until the middle of the day, when one of your staff finally answered my call. I asked her if you were in, and she said no. I then asked her to deliver my message, and asked if you could please call me back. You never called me back. We never spoke again after the initial appointment. Your accusation of me "demanding" that you take away someone else's time is preposterous and a huge lie. Your assurances were all lies, and now, you've had the audacity of replying to my review with false accusations and more lies. Your reckless attitude towards your customers shows. Good luck shooting yourself in the foot, because according to other reviewers' experiences, we are not the first nor the only customers that you've mistreated. She cut my hair without even checking the texture and curls. Half way through she is recommending me curl specialist and cut my hair rely really short and cut was super bad. Just hated the service. On top of it she was so double booked. I hated the salon and their service and most of the incompetent people who work there. I came out really unhappy. Just horrendous service! Wendy is an expert!! I am so impressed and surprised that I was able to find a stylist here in Folsom with impeccable skills!! I truly thought I would have to go to a bigger city such as LA or SF to get someone to fix my hair. completely messed up my color. very splotchy dye job... color washed out in two days as well as having a redo appointment, for the first mistake they made, it messed my hair up more. the appointment fried my hair as well as having the color wash out AGAIN in another two days... very expensive prices for not a very good salon. i have gone elsewhere to get my hair fixed and the stylist said that the hair dye was cheap and that if i had went back for a third time to get my hair fixed by them that it could have totally stripped my hair beyond repair. read more

I am growing my natural color out and just wanted to blend it into the blonde highlights I had been doing for years. I basically just needed my root color dragged down into the blonde a bit to break up the line. The first stylist did not achieve this, and parts of my hair actually turned purple but she was sweet and refunded the money, referring me to another stylist that could do what I'm looking for at the price I was looking for. The new stylist was supposed to specialize in balayage, and they recommended that method for what I'm wanting. I never would feel comfortable going to a new stylist but the owner was present and stated she keeps a close eye during appointments and she would be there and make sure the result was great. The owner no showed. The new stylist didn't understand and put dark everywhere and must have over toned my hair. She basically did a brown balayage which is not what I wanted at all and the color was WAY darker than my natural ashy blonde, it was like black. I told her I was concerned at how dark it is and she assured me that it's just a shock because I'm not used to it... but I told her I didn't want dark in the ends of my hair... I wanted such a simple service. When I got home, I noticed there was a gray/silver tone to my hair. I was embarrassed. My hair looked awful. I wore it up often to try and hide it. I told the stylist I was unhappy with my results and very disappointed that the owner did not follow through on her word. I sent a message to the owner via their website and never heard back. The stylist left me "on read" and ghosted me after I messaged about how this is not what I wanted. This salon is a newer place and you'd think they would want to earn 5 star reviews. Huge disappointment. Luckily after tons of washes, her mistakes have washed out and it's starting to blend and look more like what I wanted in the first place. I've been wanting silver/grey hair for a long time and I was going to a different salon but after three sessions, I still wasn't getting the result I wanted and it was costing a fortune! Out of frustration, I had my hair bleached by a friend and *as predicted* it didn't turn out well. Mayra assessed the damage and suggested how it can be fixed. My hair had several different bands of color and very stubborn but Mayra took the challenge with guidance from Ally (who is the owner and has lots of experience and very knowledgeable). Mayra worked really really hard to give me the results I've been wanting and it turned out so perfect! Ally was so helpful and accommodating, she even offered to pick up food of my choice around the area since I've been there all day. I'm so so so happy with how it turned out, they made sure to use products that would help not damage my hair as much and was able to achieve it in one sitting--could've been potentially two if my hair wasn't bleached already. Tisa did a great job on daughter's hair but she ended up bleaching half of her custom sweatshirt. To be fair she did warn her she might get some bleach on there but didn't expect a ruined sweatshirt. She offered a drape but daughter went with cape. Tisa did not put a towel around the neck. When I texted her pictures she basically blew me off with she was warned. Really?! I have never had a hair stylist ruin any of my clothes. She did refund the tip, reluctantly. I guess we will keep searching for a hair stylist. read more
