First time here and I love how spacious the salon is as well as the modern decor! I like how the window faces the street and that it felt so open. I hate being in an area where I don't have alot of space (esp if I have to sit there for a few hours) so I absolutely enjoyed my time here. As for hair stylist, Deja checked off my list of requirements on how I like my hair to be done. She is such a doll, how can you not love her?! Super bubbly and you can tell she genuinely cares about how you would like your hair done. I came in wanting to get babylights with teasey lights on the bottom portion and she exceeded all expectations. She also got it very light just how I wanted it to be. And sometimes it can be a challenge since I naturally have dark hair. Thank you for doing exactly what I liked. I would def come back and ask for her. Thank you Deja! read more

I went to this salon looking to get a new hair color transformation for my wedding day, and let me tell you this place was soo nice! The vibe was chill and professional. Everyone was kind and welcoming. The colorist I spoke with was Camryn and I really enjoyed her energy. She was very knowledgeable, fun and just overall a real joy to work with. Very high turnover rate at this salon. I used to come here regularly and each time I call the stylist I liked has moved to another salon. Every stylist seems very new, but prices are being raised. This was the number one salon a few years ago and it's gone down hill quickly. I used to see the same faces when I walked in now it's a full new staff very sad to see. read more

Grace cut my hair for me a few months back and I was lucky to find her, what a doll. I have been trying to find a stylist since we moved to the area in 2022 and it has not been easy to find someone who I enjoy chatting with who also is great at hair. Grace delivered on both fronts! I left with healthy looking hair that felt fresh and smoother than it's been in a long time. The salon is chic but comfy and feels like an approachable treat, will definitely be back! Love the location of this salon and Shelby is truly awesome as a colorist/stylist, especially for blondes. She is friendly, listens to my concerns and is great about checking in each appointment to make sure I'm happy! The salon itself has a clean, relaxed vibe and the old town neighborhood is cute to spend time in before or after your appt. Decided to go lighter for the first time in my life and I've had a great experience at Maribou! Alex did an amazing job at doing exactly what I wanted and something that would suit me. I trusted her, and she went above and beyond with just a refresher. She listens to you when you tell her what you want even if you don't have a clue yourself. Mallory is the best stylist! She went in to detail with me about my hair goals to fully understand what I was looking for and gave me exactly what I wanted! I just had a baby two months ago and have neglected my hair. I have naturally dark hair and have gotten highlights for years. I was soooo tired of the harsh lines and having to come in to the salon so often, so I asked Mallory for something more low maintenance. She gave me a beautiful shade of blonde, got rid of the ugly harsh lines and gave me a much needed trim! Left with amazingly soft hair and some great products to revive my hair as well. This review is for Brooke, AKA a red heads best friend in any salon! Whether you're a natural or wanting to become a red head i can safely and enthusiastically recommend her! I have now seen her three times and my hair looks the best it ever has in my entire life! I have natural auburn hair and came to brooke after growing out my natural hair from an all over bleaching i did years ago (very much regret the bleaching lol). I told Brooke i wanted to get back to my natural self but a little more vibrant....i showed her an inspo picture and she delivered! She talked me through her process and answered any questions i had. She made sure to check in with me not only throughout the dying/cutting process but also checks in on you days afterwards to make sure you're still loving your hair! She's literally the sweetest person and so fun to talk to! After years of going to only one stylist, I took a chance and booked an appointment with Dan! I started coming here to touch up my roots and to go lighter and smokier with the color blonde of my hair and I was pleased both times leaving the salon with fabulous locks-- I'm surely on my way to being as blonde as I originally wanted and I'm glad that both times Dan has left my hair totally healthy and soft after the bleach treatments. I have received so many compliments since first going there and I would recommend the salon as it is in a nice location, the staff are very friendly, and they are following all necessary COVID protocols. Jessica 'Rabbit' Hill is my boo! She did such a goooooood job! A week later and I'm still so very pleased with the results! She is an awesome human being with great energy who knows her shit. Legit. My hair was dark brown to well you know this new fabulous hair duuuuu. She spent like five hours on my hair and it came out flawless- NO DAMAGE. My hair still looks healthy and the ends of my hair is totally fine. I was very surprised how it came out. I think we were both lol. Salon is great an all, but it's Jessica who lights up the place. Alex is the first hair stylist I have gone back to more than a couple of times. I usually don't pay for a haircut unless I'm getting my hair dyed, but there's no way I could even attempt the cut she gives me. I don't think I've ever gone in knowing exactly what I want, but I always leave with it. She's really good at getting the full picture of what you want and she always executes it perfectly! I like low maintenance (I'm cheap) and with the way she cuts my hair, it lasts insanely long and grows out so nicely. She's super sweet and it's overall a really comfortable salon and experience. read more

Maribou opened it's doors in 2006 & is home to many of the area's most talented stylists. The owners and staff are invoved in the community & have hosted numerous charity events, donating thousands of dollars to charity. Kenneth messaged me quickly and was very up front about what he could offer and for what price. Rooted is in the Folsom hills and right in the downtown area along Lake Natoma and the American River. Every time I venture out Folsom way there is something new to see, but this little area still has the same "feel" as when I was a kid - Cute, Quaint, Small-Town. Since they have only been in this location a few months they don't have signage up yet but you can't miss it, it's a darling little cottage with a red stone brick path leading to inviting walk up and entry. I felt comfortable right away. Kenneth was up front ringing out another client but made sure to greet me as soon as I entered, which says a lot in my book. He showed me to his room, which was super cozy; the salon chair was comfy; LOVED the wash station, Kenneth was awesome; very personable, we chatted it up while he washed, did a deep conditioning treatment, (can I get that hair drier to go pls?) lol, Brazilian blow out and some touch up with the flat iron so I could get home to flat iron the rest (I do that myself). Even without the flat iron it looked fantastic! My hair felt super clean and well hydrated, not dried out at ALL. When I got home to finish the flat iron it was nice n soft n felt fabulous. Loved it! One side is approximately an inch and a half longer than the other, and the two sides are styled and cut completely differently. One flips out and has noticeable bulk and length, while the other sits flatter and shorter. This is not a subtle difference. Even photos make it obvious, and multiple people -- including an AI image review tool -- immediately noticed the imbalance without being prompted. That says a lot. What makes this more frustrating is that I mentioned during the appointment that I live in a remote area where it's hard to get haircuts or corrections, so this isn't something easy for me to fix quickly. I'm not sure how I will fix this before I go to work on Monday. It is much worse than my self cut I requested to be fixed. When hair isn't styled before a client leaves, it can be difficult to catch major inconsistencies in the cut right away. I genuinely did not realize how uneven it was until later when I was back at my hotel and able to look at it more carefully myself. I also want to add that comments or conversations about clients as they are walking out the door can make people feel extremely uncomfortable and self-conscious, especially when they later realize there was a major problem with the service they received. I understand mistakes happen, but this haircut feels careless and inconsistent, and the unevenness absolutely should have been caught before I left the salon. And it's frustrating to pay that much you have to go pay again to get this fixed

After my hair appointment on 5/28, I just now received at least some sort of compensation on 8/19. (2 and a half months later, after weeks of trying to get a response from her by having to repeat multiple messages about my concerns and seeking resolution but not receiving communication back in a timely manner if at all). The way she handled this situation reflects extremely poorly on Rarity Salon, and makes the standard of customer care at this salon questionable. As her client who got a service done from her, I don't feel I received the level of customer service I should've on top of her making it extremely difficult to communicate and get a response from her, especially for what I paid which was $340 for little to no visible change, my roots not being done, and patchy/uneven areas. I had previously got my hair done by Molly in January and was content with my experience so I returned on 5/28 for a hair color change. After showing pictures and discussing what I wanted , Molly told me this was achievable with a bleach wash (over Instagram dm messages which I have). However at the end of the appointment my hair color clearly did not change much and after paying, Molly told me how we may need multiple sessions to get the color I wanted and gave me her phone number to communicate with her. A couple of days later after trying to see if the color settled differently, I sent her a text about my concerns of there being little to no change to the color of my hair, but also my roots still being the same as if they weren't done, and some patchy areas. I sent this message with pictures of my hair to show her on 6/2 and I didn't get a response back until 6/22. I also sent messages about following up in between that time. In her reply on 6/22 she mentioned how this message "got lost" in her text thread, and that we can work on getting the color I wanted in future appointments, but no compensation was provided and I felt unsatisfied with this considering the result I got and her not being transparent about the multiple sessions in the first place. I told her I understand color change can be a process and it mignt not be exactly what I showed her, but at this point I was expressing my concerns and asking for at least coming in and redoing / a hair treatment since I didn't feel content with what I paid for. By the time she responded, I had my hair done from another hair stylist somewhere else since I had trips and events planned and needed it done, and I got the results I wanted. I asked for a couple minutes to talk multiple times so I can express my concerns and try to come to a resolution as she wasn't replying in a timely manner at all over text. My texts to her were on 6/23, 6/26, 6/29, and 7/9 with no replies. On 7/10 she proceeded to tell me to text her to chat. It was extremely difficult to communicate with her in this way. I sent another message on 7/10 still trying to express my concern and reach a fair solution. I got no response. Then after my message on 8/6, she replied on 8/7 that she is understanding of the situation and offered a partial refund. I replied essentially saying I agreed to the partial refund. I was still waiting for this to be completed. After another week passed and still not receiving anything from her, I texted her again on 8/14 and 8/18 to finally receive the $170 refund on 8/19. In my experience with other hair professionals, I have consistently received a much higher level of communication, professionalism, and customer service. This was my biggest issue because it was extremely difficult to get any response from Molly, and she honestly made the impression of ignoring the situation even to the point of blocking me from her stories on Instagram. The unprofessionalism on her part and the way this situation was handled by Molly reflects poorly on Rarity Salon.

I asked to speak with the manager and both the receptionist and Alisha told me they are unable to give that information out. Both kept repeating "we are all self employed". Alisha's reason for "canceling" my appointment was because I didn't reply to her text which had asked for a picture of my hair goals. I pulled up the text thread which shows not just one reply but TWO that I sent to her. She denied ever receiving my messages. I did not receive a text or phone call from neither her or the salon, canceling my appointment. After reading the reviews on here, appointment canceling seems to be pretty standard for this place. Trust me, don't waste your time going here. What terrible customer service and poor reflection on the salon. I left completely having wasted my time and feeling very upset by the entire ordeal. What a couple of employees can do to a business, unbelievable. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Grace, and I am absolutely in love. After visiting her one time, I can honestly say that I never want anyone besides her to ever do my hair again. This is definitely my favorite hair I have ever had. Before Grace, I kind of bounced around between other stylists at different salons, and always left feeling sort of iffy. However, I knew right away that I was absolutely in love with Grace's work. Besides being insanely talented, she is also very knowledgeable about hair. I really felt as though she was extremely educated in what she was doing, and I never felt the worrying feeling that I often did before. She REALLY knows what she is doing. I went from a very faded brown color that I was not at all happy with, and she literally transformed it into princess hair. The color is blended so well, and will grow out very nicely! I am also always very nervous going into appointments, because I have had platinum blonde hair in the past, and get scared of it becoming too damaged and losing its integrity. Nevertheless, I shared my concerns with her, and she reassured me that she would be very careful and make sure it stays healthy, AND IT DID. I am seriously blown away by the amount of talent in this girl. She really has a passion for hair, and is also incredibly kind hearted, and really cares about her clients. I have been getting my hair done by Candice Manibog for the past 5 years! I have watched her grow as a stylist with the new trends and styles. Candice is amazing at what she does! We recently have been doing my hair balayage. I love it! It's been a process because my hair was jet black. She has been so amazing each time getting it lighter and I always leave her with 100% satisfaction. Her passion for hair and her integrity as a person amazes me! Her clients love her to pieces, she is always very professional, and knowledgeable of her job. She always gives me amazing tips and great suggestions for what's in and trendy. I have had way too many awful haircuts and colors in the past that I have become VERY cautious about who I let work on my hair. I've been coming to this salon for the last two years, and have seen several stylists, all of whom have been great! I've never left this place feeling bad about my hair. The last couple of times I have seen Candice Manibog. Usually, I just pick whichever appointment is first available and most convenient for me, but Candice really stood out and does a wonderful job so I do what I can to book with her. Recently I went in asking to cut probably around 12 inches or so off my hair. Candice would have done it if I really wanted the cut but suggested that I should shorten it over a couple of cuts rather than all at once. I'm really glad she stopped me in my tracks, even though I did go back and get the length I originally wanted. I've never had a stylist have a conversation with me about what I want, and how I might feel about the results if I go through with my original idea. I also came in with an awful box dye job that I did myself, and while I didn't have her fix it, she was very knowledgeable about why my hair turned out that way it did and explained to me what went wrong in the process. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the stylists here, but Candice is definitely my favorite :) read more

I went to get my hair cut, colored and styled and was fortunate to have the opportunity to have Rain work her magic on my mane. She has this gift for being able to see what cut would bring out your best face forward. I explained the concept or ideas that I liked and she gave me wonderful suggestions that would compliment the style I had chosen and make it work best for my features. I absolutely love my new cut and I love what she did to the color to bring a little extra life and movement to my hair. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a new fun, chic and sexy do that is fit just for you. I had her help me transition from very long hair to a lob and she was so understanding compassionate with my choice and reason. I absolutely love this place. I went in yesterday and booked my appointment with Candice, who was simply the sweetest girl I could've hoped for. I have fibromyalgia, so I don't like to be touched, and I hadn't had my hair cut/colored in a while because I had a ton of anxiety about the whole situation. Before I went in, I took it upon myself to ingest some pain killers and weed cookies, as to help dull the pain I was about to be in. This disease has made me quite princess to say the least. Come to find out, Candice was the hairstylist I needed and more. I gave her a heads up that I was sort of a tough customer, and she was with me 100%. She was very nice to talk to, very attentive, and made sure I was toughing it through and let me have a break when I needed it. I'm actually looking forward to having my hair done again, and that's a feeling that cannot be bought. When you deal with chronic pain, it's hard to keep a smile on in public sometimes. Candice at Maribou made me smile the whole time, and did an amazing job on my hair. She knows her profession, and is a skilled colorist with really awesome advice. This salon has unfortunately gone down hill over the last few years. It used to feel much more welcoming and less chaotic. I have gone to multiple locations and used to have no issues. As time moved forward, I've noticed they cram as many stylists and assistants in as possible... I rarely have my own stylist doing my hair and feel like I'm being tossed around too much. Not to mention, it seems that all the stylists here are new or fresh out of school. Everyone has multiple assistants and it just isn't a relaxing experience at all anymore. They have all their stylists working on multiple clients at once and it makes my appointment a lot longer. All while increasing their prices through the roof for a lesser experience. Doesn't make sense. The girls who work here don't even look happy anymore they all look stressed out and it makes it uncomfortable. Unfortunately, my days at Maribou are over. They have become a sweat shop with low quality work. I'm not paying over $300 for a service that isn't of quality. They are money hungry and just trying to get you in and out. After moving from the Bay Area 15 years ago, I have tried quite a few salons before finding the PERFECT place- and Maribou on Sutter is it! Loreal is my stylist (hair guru) and after forming an amazing working relationship with her, I can also call her a friend. (That's what you want in a stylist, right?) Loreal will take the time to give you exactly what you want and she's pleasant and fun to be around! She knows the current trends and isn't afraid to make suggestions or give you her professional advice. Now my 16 year old daughter goes to her, too! We have LONG hair that Loreal gives us amazing high lights and natural ombre effects. And now that I'm in my early 40's, she covers the new little grays beautifully as well! Helene, the receptionist is friendly and efficient and gets you booked with exactly what you need (with respect to Loreal's availability of course!). My time in the salon is an escape and time of pampering and fun. I live in Roseville, and making the trip to Folsom is a breeze and always a treat with Loreal and Helene at Maribou. I've been seeing Genna for years. When I started seeing her my hair was a mess. It had been falling out from stress and hadn't been growing despite all my efforts. It was bad. She did what she could with my blonde hair at our first appointment, which was a major *MAJOR* step up from my previous stylist. Fast forward about 6 years now and my hair is a complete 180 from that first appointment. Sticking with her has been the best decision I have made for my hair. It is healthier than ever. We added extensions a few years ago and that was a huge boost to my hair self-esteem. I never had extensions before, but she explained it all to me. If I ever have a problem I can text her and she'll help. She is really gentle with my hair while giving me the right shades of blonde with highlights. I wanna start out by saying I couldn't be happier about my experience at Maribou!!!. Helena is always great with helping me book my appointments and I love that they have text reminders!! My stylist LOREAL!! IS AMAZING!!I was in a hair crisis. She has brought my hair back to life. I FINALLY found someone I can trust with my hair. I seriously couldn't be happier every time I leave. I've seen Loreal three times now. She corrected my extremely damaged platinum blonde hair which is naturally dark to a beautiful rose gold. I thought for sure I was gonna lose a lot of hair due to damage but she saved my hair and barely had to cut off any. The rose gold was seriously the perfect shade, and exactly what I wanted! And then we did a touch up one more time, again it came out great!! But OMG today she did some serious magic!! I wanted to cry! She did the most beautiful balayage and a conditioning treatment. After recently moving and having a long-time salon in San Jose for many years, it was time to find a new one. I was looking for a salon that not only does great work of course, but whose stylists continue their education and look to constantly evolve in the latest techniques, methods and are knowledgeable in creating the newest trends and styles in hair. To me, that is key in finding a skilled stylist who can create the Instagram worthy looks that people emulate. And I've definitely found that in Miranda at Maribou Salon! She did my hair yesterday and did such a wonderful job in creating what I asked for and it turned out so nice! She is a great listener as well and knows how to ask the right questions to understand exactly what you want. She and all the rest of the staff there was very professional and super friendly, they made me feel very comfortable upon walking in even though I was flustered after getting a bit lost and walking in late. Miranda is amazing! I went to her with very damaged hair from a different Salon, and she made it looking beautiful and healthy again. Before the appointment, she asked to see pics of my hair and inspiration photos. We talked about what I would like and what would be best for my hair. I was so glad that she took the time to think about the plan of my hair, because I always feel so rushed when I'm discussing what I want done to my hair right when I sit down in the chair. Miranda took her time with my hair and made sure she did it perfectly! My hair ended up taking a little longer than expected, because I hadn't gotten it done in 6 months. Instead of rushing to finish like I have had happen before with other stylists, she asked her next client to come a little later. I am so happy with my hair, and so glad I found Miranda! I had such a great first experience at Maribou that I will definitely be making this my official salon! I needed an appointment in a pinch as I had just come home from school for the weekend for a family event and really needed a cut. Helene was amazing at working with my very limited schedule at such a last minute notice. She also made sure to schedule me with the amazing Loreal! In the past at different salons I have had problems with trying to tell the stylist what I was wanting and they didn't listen, way more length is cut off than wanted, and I end up leaving dissatisfied... this did not happen with Loreal!! She took the time to listen and look at the pinterest samples that I had and even made sure to physically show me how much she would be cutting off my ends. She was so pleasant and nice to chat with and my hair really did look exactly like how I had wanted. I recently moved from Michigan. I am naturally a brunette but I dye my hair blonde, like super blonde. I had gone to my previous salon for years and took a lot of time getting my hair to the blonde it is. I was nervous to find a place that would be able to do my roots and match what had been worked on already. A coworker of mine said he had heard some people talk about Maribou and when I looked it up and saw 5 stars I made no hesitation to call. I went with the girls recommended stylist and was fortunate to meet Miranda! Miranda was cautious at first, but then I assured her my skin was detroit tough. She has been the best at keeping my hair to the blonde I want and actually has taken better care of it than the old salon!! I always have a good experience at Maribou on Sutter! I have been going to Maribou for about a year now and have gone short, lighter, darker, longer, bangs, curls.. I love to change my look, and the ladies at Maribou have the skills to make it happen! To make a few shoutouts: I have been seeing Rain for her excellent haircuts. She is honest about what will be flattering with my features, and also tailors haircuts to suit my mood and style. One of the best haircuts I ever had was through her help creating baby bangs! I felt very cool. :) Recently, I had my hair highlighted by Miranda and loved the results! She really listened to my concerns and hopes for my hair, and delivered! I really love the modern and natural color she gave me. Her assistant is also so sweet and gave great tips on how to style my hair at home! Very happy with my hair color experience! MIRANDA IS MY NEW FAVORITE!! My years-long hair stylist retired from cutting hair several years ago and I have been desperately searching for a replacement ever since. Despite my efforts, I haven't been able to find someone that really made me love my hair. I wanted someone creative, who could take an idea or a picture and make it work with different hair types, and who would help me figure out what I wanted. Based on the reviews here, Miranda seemed to be that person. I nervously booked my appointment, trying not to get too excited lest I be disappointed once again. But I needn't have worried. Miranda exceeded all expectations, and for the first time in years, I love my hair again. PLUS, she gives amazing head and neck massages while she's washing your hair. As a bonus, everyone in the salon is friendly, and the atmosphere is peaceful and calm. I will definitely be coming back to see Miranda, and you should too! read more

I started seeing Meghan about 5/6 months ago. "Amazing!"... That's all I can say about her. During my very first appointment, I explained that I had a bad hair experience about 5 years ago.. and ever since then, I cut/colored my own hair. I was nervous during my first appointment, and I told her I wanted something subtle, and natural. The entire experience was even more than I could have expected. She was kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and talented! I've had my hair done by her a couple of times since my initial appointment, and this last time I saw her, I confidently said "do whatever you think will look good!!! I trust you!" (So unlike me lol) I had complete faith in her, and OH MY GOODNESS! It's perfect :) She is an amazing listener, and truly cares about her clients Im sure everyone at Maribou is great! I have been looking and looking for a stylist that could give me the STRAIGHT SCOOP on my hair ... advice on color, style and care ! Well, I found her at Maribou ... it's RAIN! She is THE BEST !! Within minutes of sitting in her chair, she had a plan. She took the time to describe the shape of my face (first time EVER that someone has not plopped me into 'apple' or 'oval'), described how my hair should be cut and styled and changed the color up to match my skin tone and AGE!! And, Rain took the time to show me how to style my hair several different ways!! Now, I found Rain through a TOTAL stranger who's hair I was admiring. I asked her where she got her cut and she gave me all the details ... best encounter for ME! Besides Rain rockin' the CUTEST hair style (which makes sense, RIGHT ... does your stylist have an updated cut???), she knows her business. She is confident, cool and artistic. Miranda is amazing! I just moved back to the area after getting my hair done by someone else out of state and I did not like it at all! My hair looked damaged, over processed and not the look I wanted. So I researched and found Miranda online @hairmama123, and I'm so glad I found her! First, she is just such a wonderful, nice person, so easy to get along with, and I felt completely comfortable that she was listening to what I wanted. We talked about the color I was hoping for, I showed her pictures of what I wanted for my hair, and she walked me through what she was going to do to correct it. For this 1st visit, we wanted to get more of my natural tone back with a sunkissed, dimensional look and I love it! I had a hair emergency last week when I tried coloring my hair on my own and then subsequently trying to remove the dye which left my hair an unsightly shade of orange. I called around to a few places but no one had openings so late into the evening. Finally I called Maribou on Sutter and Jackie had time to fit me in. She took me at 6:45 right before closing and for this I was very grateful. She assessed the damage I had done and we decided on a color close to my natural shade. She worked efficiently and with care and after not too long my hair was a beautiful shade of natural brown that you'd never guess had been a brassy orange. Jackie was lots of fun to talk to which is important when you're sitting in someone's chair for over an hour. I really appreciate her taking my concerns seriously and coming to the rescue in my hour of need. Would highly suggest her and the salon to anyone! read more

Kalyn was AMAZING!!!!! I've actually been going to Kalyn for about 4 years now and have now followed her to Maribou! Beside Maribou BEING SUPER CUTE and a fun and chic environment to be in, the staff is SO FRIENDLY! From the receptionist to Kalyn always slipping me in when i need an emergency visit, they really put you FIRST! Every time kalyn makes me feel like a totally new women. she nails my color, highlights and low lights EVERY TIME and when i tell her i hate short hair/hair cuts, she does her best to barely take off the dead hair so that it barely looks cut to me! I love it! She really listens and makes my hair looks so blonde and healthy yet still longer every time! First- if youve never been to Maribou you have to go because its soo cute! She called to cancel and was put on hold, while the receptionist looked into a cancellation fee? Nothing was ever said to me about a cancellation fee! I would not have made a surprise appointment. If I had known there was a cancellation fee. $100 is a bit steep to charge somebody. Just because they can't make it. Never again am I stepping foot in The Colour Chemistry Salon. I hope you learned your lesson, never take an appointment and not say there is a cancellation fee.

It's been ten years since I've felt bold enough to go above my shoulders and it was the confidence of the women that I was able to still feel confident in deciding to go short. Along with cutting off ten inches, I got a wonderful, relaxing, very informative facial by Cynthia. I not only learned about the different products being put on my face, I became so relaxed towards the end that I dozed off for a bit. So nice.. To just be pampered. I felt so spoiled yesterday. I wish I remembered all their names but I think it's safe to say all the ladies at etcetera salon made me feel special in their own way. It's rare when i get treatment like I did. I will be seeing them again in the future. Also a big thanks to my mom for the gift card! What a surprising treat!

She's corrected my hair from a terrible highlight job and gave me a beautiful balayage. I've gone pink with Anh and she started me off with a magenta that faded into the most delicate pastel pink. It was a TIME. It was the MOMENT. I always go to Anh to touch up my hair and no one else touched my hair. And when I went from blonde to brunette, she gave me a color that started out dark brown and then slowly became a gorgeous, sweet, and rich brown. I initially started seeing Amelia at Aveda Salon but when Aveda called me to reschedule my hair appointment because Amelia was on leave I was freaking out! Aveda later called me to reschedule my bridal hair trail appointment and at that time informed me that the salon owner will be doing my bridal hair/makeup. A month prior to my wedding Aveda informs me that Amelia was actually not on leave but was no longer with the salon. THEY LIED TO ME!!!! and then expected me to trust a stranger with my bridal hair coloring, styling and makeup. I came to Aveda NOT because of the salon but because of Amelia's skills. Luckily I recently found Amelia & her new salon on Yelp and am super excited to have her as my hair expert. I came in telling her I'd like all over color w/a picture of golden brown hair color. She asked how we should achieve this color(what coloring methods) I Told her by any means necessary, I'd like this color. Please cut hair dry as hair is curly, you cant cut after it curls and bushes out. She didn't. Once she dried hair, it turned into small Afro, then she cut it. (You guessed it, it didn't turn out right). On top of that, she didn't let deep conditioner set. My hair was still DARK. She yelled at me many times telling me "I know what I'm doing, (pointin to certificate) I did hair in London!" But ... The... Point.. Was.... It's not the right color. No matter if she went to school on Mack road or in Europe. It's not the color. Instead of saying I'm sorry you don't like the way the color turned out, we can try again or just yes it is dark... She blamed ME (remember she was looking at a picture, and I told her by any means necessary). After placing blame on me, then saying I thought you meant the dark part of the picture in the shadow by the neck (her story kept changing) she threw me out, told me since not tipping her, NEVER RETURN TO SHOP Again!
