I have been coming to this place for a year and they do keep it pretty clean and organize and they offer drinks to which is a plus for me. I do recommended Natalie I have been going to her for maybe 3 years and she has made hair look so good and pretty. She is really good about listening to what you want they are times I don't even know what to do with my hair I asked what she thinks and I've always loved her ideas cause I'm always looking for something new to do. read more

Republic Salon is TRASH, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. My appointment was with Alisha at 10am. I live 40 min away from the Salon but they had good reviews so I booked an appointment. I did not expect that level of unprofessionalism and cattiness from the employees. I have a very busy work schedule that includes a lot of traveling between Sacramento, LA and Seattle. I only have ONE day off, Wednesday's. Which I let the Salon know. After making the 40 min drive and arriving, I find out that my appointment was canceled with NO contact from the stylist or the salon. She had booked someone else for the same time slot. When I asked to get a different stylist and explained how far I lived the receptionist told me no one was available. I asked to speak with the manager and both the receptionist and Alisha told me they are unable to give that information out. Both kept repeating "we are all self employed". Alisha's reason for "canceling" my appointment was because I didn't reply to her text which had asked for a picture of my hair goals. I pulled up the text thread which shows not just one reply but TWO that I sent to her. She denied ever receiving my messages. I did not receive a text or phone call from neither her or the salon, canceling my appointment. After reading the reviews on here, appointment canceling seems to be pretty standard for this place. Trust me, don't waste your time going here. What terrible customer service and poor reflection on the salon. I left completely having wasted my time and feeling very upset by the entire ordeal. What a couple of employees can do to a business, unbelievable. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Love, love, love my hair! Kim Vara had her hands full with my post chemo patchy hair that hadn't been touched in over a year & she didn't just pretty it up-she made it gorgeous! Beyond what I thought possible. Some hi-lights, a cut to clean it up, and the most AMAZING extensions have left me feeling and looking better than ever. The salons atmosphere is so comfortable, clean and nicely decorated that I really enjoyed my time and look forward to my next appointment! read more

Republic Salon - Natural looking extensions that I LOVE! - Hair Salons Near Me - Folsom, California

I love supporting a business who truest knows and cares about their clients. During the COVID pandemic the salon was still able to provide their clients with products by offering curbside pickup; Carmen the owner even met me at the salon on a weekend to give me my much needed hair treatment products! I know they don't make much off of this type of service but it shows they CARE ABOUT HAIR and clients! Thank you so much ladies for everything you do! Can't wait to get in to see the best esthetician (Tineal) and stylist (Jen)! Love u all read more

I started seeing Alicia after my coworker came to work with amazing cut and color. I've been back ever since! Alicia is friendly, calm, and has a very sweet disposition. I always leave the salon feeling beautiful! She totally fixed the hack job I did on my bangs and gave me a fresh new color. The product line they use, Unite, is high quality and there's tons of different types in the line itself. I always pick up something on my way out. read more

I had tried Republic when I moved to the Folsom area last winter. Got a decent haircut, made an appointment for another one a couple months later. I booked the appointment to fit between a hectic work/travel schedule. Snap to today, I made the 20 minute drive to the salon for my appointment and they don't have me in their system. Not only is the fact they lost my appointment incredibly annoying, there was no effort to make it up to me. Didn't get booked at a next available or offered a discount for their error... nada. Not smart on their part as I left very unhappy and in desperate need of a haircut. Will not return to Republic, they can't even handle something as basic as managing appointments. read more

Great Experience! Alex did an amazing job on my hair! She listened to what I was asking for and gave me sound advice as well. I love the finished product! My hair looks great and I will be going back again to see Alex the next time! read more

I was referee to this salon by a friend and here it is four years later and still get a great haircut at a very reasonable price. Everyone is super friendly and are always hospitable and accommodating. When you go to a salon to get any work done the results are speculative and I understand that. What one person loves another could be disappointed. I always love my haircuts and am always pleased with the results, but for a place to become my go to place it has to be a place I trust. Republic is a place I think everyone can trust. My stylist (Alex) has my back and even if something goes wrong I have peace of mind that she will take care of it. That means the world to me. The salon has a great atmosphere with very stylish and modern decor. They are clean and safe with a detailed cleaning regimen that everyone follows. I'll update this in another four years because I am sure I will still be here. read more

This review is for Ashley. She is not good with cutting hair or with highlighting blond hair. I was really surprised that she could not understand me when I informed her what I wanted. I've been getting my hair highlighted for 30 years, and I have never had someone that could not communicate with me. The haircut is as simple as you can get, one length straight across. However after cutting my hair there was always a clump of hair that was not cut with the rest, and left much longer. I either had to cut it myself, or go back for her to cut it again. Also, the last time she cut it about 2 inches shorter than I asked, and when I said something after the cut, she was just defensive and argumentative. She did not know what to do when I requested light blond highlights even though I explained thoroughly to her. I gave her multiple chances, but she can not communicate with you, so you just get what SHE wants, not what you want. Sadly, if you try to communicate with her, she just gets rude and frustrated and then just refuses to do your hair. I can't waste my time and money with her, I have since found a wonderful place that understands customer service. read more

This is a beautiful salon and they carry my favorite product line "Unite" which is a boutique brand made in San Diego (my hometown). Their products are AMAZBALLS! The staff here is super friendly and Tineal the owner gives amazing facials! She uses Image products. They also have a blowout bar which is really nice for those that just want their hair done for the evening. I highly recommend this place! read more

This review is for Christie. I have to say it is difficult to find someone who can cut curly hair. Going to salons always make me a little nervous. I have a good friend with hair even curlier than mine and she recommended Christie. Christie definitely takes the time to get to know you. She asks lots of questions about your hair routine and preferences. With the cuts I get from her I can wear my hair both straight and curly and feel confident with either style. Christie spends time making sure you are happy before you walk out of the salon. This place is on the pricey side compared to some of the other salons in the area I tried, but if you want a great cut and salon experience then this is the place for you! read more

Been there, done that are my thoughts on this experience. I don't need to go back. I loved that my girlfriend and I were able to have a beer while having our hair blown out, the scalp massage was wonderful and the products smelled great (Unite). My hair looked cute when I left (thank god I spoke up, because how she was originally styling it was just bad for the shape of my face), but by the time I got home the curls were falling out and it was just limp. If I had a function to go to that night I would have been SO bummed! The blow out room is dark and was very hot with two hairdryers going at once. Not worth the time or money, but it was fun being with my girlfriend ;) The salon side looked nice. read more

I wanted to get some highlights and color done, so I called and they scheduled me with whoever was available at the time. My hair turned out really bad! she over bleached the highlights, some parts are so blonde and some are thicker than others. Its uneven! The color job was bad too! The top got a lot of color but theres barely color on the bottom. I have family members that told me my hair looks so ugly and the highlights were just too blonde and too much. It took almost 3 hours for all these and what I got was bad hair. I chose this salon because it was so close to my house, it was very nice inside but it was a wrong decision to go there. Never again! Now I have to get my hair fixed. I gave them 3 stars (original 2 stars) because the owner read the review and called me to tell me that they feel really bad about my hair and offered to fix it for me, but I've already fixed it with the home dye kit. I respect that they care about their customers and follow up with any issues, but for me it's about the first experience. Maybe the stylist I got just not good at coloring and highlighting dark hair, I can't speak for her other specialties. read more

My friend recommended this place to get my make up done. I made an appoint for Sunday, not even asking if they were open. When I arrived I was the only one there and then realized they were not open on Sundays and that Tineal (the gal that worked on me) made arrangements to accommodate my schedule. I thought that was very nice of her. She was very nice and did a great job on my make up. Will def go back and will recommend to others! read more

Worst salon I've ever been to, owner is rude and unprofessional , stylist are sneaky and try to change prices every time you go for the same service read more

Had two haircuts from them... both stylists were very professional and friendly, but my first hair cut was not what I asked for. I had a photo and walked out with a style nothing like the picture. I asked to have my hair left natural so I could see the cut, and I was sort of pestered by the stylist to let her dry my hair straight. For some stupid reason, I finally told her she could dry it straight. I knew that my hair wasn't like the photo I brought in as soon as she was done, but because it was straighten out, I couldn't tell what it would look like when I styled it as usual. After washing and letting it dry the next day, my hair looked nothing like the picture I brought in. I called to get it worked on and was seen by another stylist. After going home and living with the second cut for two weeks, I'm less happy with the second cut now than I was two weeks ago, unfortunately. When I called to make the appointment, I told them I had fine hair that had a curl to it, and the curl easily frizzed out and/or when limp because it's so fine. I don't feel like the person who booked the appointment really thought about who would make a good stylist for my type of hair, and instead gave me whoever was available. I think the first stylist I saw was afraid to cut my hair, so instead of giving me what I asked for, she gave me a cut she knew would work for for my hair type. The second stylist said she would "hack" into my hair to give me layers, and hack she did. The layers weren't even in the front; my left side top layer (framing my face) was an inch longer then the right side. It was very noticeable, so I evened it out at home. The last three hair cuts I've had I've walked out unhappy, so the common denominator here is me. But if I bring someone a picture and they don't cut it that way for whatever reason, then I'm calling it a draw. Again, the first stylist gave me a great cut, just not the cut I asked for, and the second stylist did a nice job as well, except for the different layering levels in front. But I won't go back as I need to find someone who's familiar with cutting my hair type. Bottom line, if you have straight hair, I think you'd get a great cut by these stylist, but I'm not convinced someone with wavy or curly hair should go for a cut. They do have other services I'd try as the salon is very nice and everyone there was friendly to work with. So there ya go... read more

Do not come here to get your hair done!! They do not care about you or the results of your hair!! I was charged for a job that left my hair looking nothing like what I wanted. I am a broke college student and after wanting to get my hair done I was left sad and disappointed. After I left a review the owner of the business reached out to me through message. She took no responsibility at all. Not even tried to help me or fix my hair, not even a refund. In fact she told me to go to Arizona to get my hair fixed!!! I got my hair done at your salon, by a hair dresser working under your you at your salon. Regardless if she works there right now or not, I got my hair done at this salon so that's where I'm leaving my review. I will continue to spread the word NOT TO COME here, you can be left sad and disappointed and they wouldn't care! read more

I followed Kim Vara over to Republic Salon from my previous salon. Wow, what a beautiful place! There was a serene calmness here and this place was spotless. Kim suggested a way to highlight my hair and make it even healthier. We did it and it turned out really pretty. I have long hair that I have colored for grays and then highlighted and I really appreciate her expertise. My hair has never looked better! read more

Shelbi is the girl to see, she does a great job! The salon is super cute and everyone there is very nice.

Alicia Teel is by far the best stylist I have ever had in my life, and I don't say this lightly! I am not an easy person in the chair and I have never felt more comfortable with someone doing my hair (platinum blonde) than with Alicia. We have since moved but want to advise anyone that lives in the area to get hair done by Alicia, you won't be disappointed! read more

This review is for Jen Fisher... Hands down she is the best stylist I have found yet. I recently moved out to Sacramento and went through about five stylists till I found Jen. I went in with my hair looking like a total mess and came out looking like a million dollars. I asked for a long bob and it came out amazing! Next appointment I decided to do some coloring. No surprise here but that came out amazing as well. I have been going back each month and will continue to keep going. The drive to the salon is about a 45 minute drive for me and so worth it! read more

Recently I moved from the Bay Area and it is nerve racking to find a stylist that knows what they are doing within a salon that isn't high drama. Well Republic Salon is the place, it is clean, beautiful, quiet, everyone works together which equals No Drama. I have been working with Jen Fisher for 1 1/2 years and she has brought my hair for hysterical to heavenly. It is such a joy to work with her for she listens, has a positive attitude and has an amazing laugh that is infectious, plus she knows what she is doing. She is truly amazing. Love this place! Amanda cuts and colors my hair like I want it cut and colored- not like she wants it cut. She's very talented. I'm ver anal about my hair and she doesn't miss a beat when I say, "do you remember how to cut my hair?" every time. She just says, "Yes, but do you want to tell me again?" haha! The receptionists are always sure to greet me and ask if I'd like anything to drink, which I always look forward to the crisp fresh lemon or strawberry flavored water; sometimes some warm tea. The place is beautiful and clean, and it's not a 'loud' salon either. Ask for Amanda, she'll keep you coming back! read more
