Perfect experience and haircut by Saul. I moved up to Folsom three years ago from Los Angeles and have had a hard time getting the right haircut. One that feels good and is sexy! Saul also is great at color and is very artistic and professional with years of experience behind him. The whole shop has wonderful stylists and the price was reasonable. Oh! And free parking! read more

Brett is fabulous. The vibe of the salon is fun, warm and welcoming. Everyone is friendly and happy to be there. I love my time there.

I love the vibe in this salon and Saul is a true artist when it comes to cutting my hair. I have never been to stylist who as skilled as Saul or as meticulous. Plus, he is just a nice guy and makes me look forward to to getting my hair cut. Highly recommend! read more

Hai decided to call me today, on a holiday, concerned about my bad review. He offered to do my hair again or give me a partial refund (everything was terrible, but only a partial refund?). He made the excuse that it was the first time he had done my hair and it takes time to figure out what's right. I came in with specific colors in the brand of hair color this salon carried and somehow he still managed to massively mess up my hair....over six months ago. I had it fixed a long time ago and wouldn't risk someone who clearly has zero self awareness (calling me early and repeatedly on a federal holiday I had off work, but didn't get to enjoy thanks to the incessant calls) touching my hair again even if I was being paid to do so. Stay far, far away from Hai and this salon. They cannot be trusted and they really don't care about the customer at all. Hai, if you bother to read this, never, ever contact me again. I'm not interested in your excuses nor will I accept your bribe in order to remove my negative review. read more

Saul is the absolute best. We moved over with him from Hoshall's to Echelon and he's been cutting my family's hair for the past decade. My hair is very straight and many hair stylists don't manage it well but Saul is the best of the best. I've just been getting cuts recently but in the past I've had highlights and they were done expertly as well. Can't recommend enough! read more

Stylist: Hai The only good thing was that the appointment was scheduled only 2 days in advance. BUT -- The first color failed & ended up dirty blonde but was supposed to be DARK BLUE. I got the wrong color on the 2nd dye as well, which is now green, but was supposed to be light blue. Plus, the wrong area was dyed. I told him I wanted a pinky-thick streak on both sides & ended up with a span as wide as my hand. Not pleased at all. I never leave bad reviews but here I am now. read more

I called this salon in a panic due to a DIY trim that ended poorly on my long fine hair. My call was answered promptly, and she referred me to Hai. Hai called me within the hour to schedule me and fit me in to an early appointment 2 days later to fix my cut. The establishment was clean with a nice homey feel. Hai is so nice and did a quick but thorough consult on the cut before washing. When I say this man looked like Picasso cutting my hair, I mean it. He took my hair from all angles, tilted my head every which way, and corrected any spots not perfect after drying. He spent the majority of my hour long appointment simply cutting. I asked for a V cut with long layers and face framing. Took exactly how much off that he said he would. It looks phenomenal. Hai was very gentle with my hair, being that it knots up way too quickly and the strands are very fine. I'm sure you will love his work just as much as I do. read more

I was trying to refrain from writing this but I am too angry and I have to tell my experience. I had been seeing a hair stylist here and I have been feeling uncomfortable with her for two years. She has never seen me that she hasn't scolded me for one thing or another. In text, she was nice enough. But in person was where her grumbling and scolding started. Three days before I went for my appointment, I had visited my dad who was sick. But we didn't know until the next day that he had Covid. Now, I shared this with her. She asked me questions about that situation. I told her I had no physical contact with my dad and he was wearing a mask. I felt fine. Covid didn't hit me until 6 days later. I texted her and asked her if she was ok. She said she was fine. But the next day, she texted me and said, "I think you were irresponsible for coming here without a mask when you knew you had been exposed." It didn't occur to me to do that but if she had asked me to wear a mask, or asked me to reschedule, I would have not said no. She had to put all the onus on me and take no responsibility. For four years, I had avoided covid and not had so much as a cold. I thought I was home free, especially since I didn't feel sick for five days after. That was the final straw. I told her I was going to look for another hairdresser. I think out of her anger, she also butchered my hair the last time I saw her. I asked for one inch trim, she took off three inches. I asked for long layers, which I always get with no problem. This time she chopped off the layers short so I can't do anything with my hair. They have scissors and they think they have power. She took out her contempt on my hair. I'm not going anywhere near this place again. read more

I am new to the Folsom area and after a few hair salons over the past several months I have found Hai who is now my "forever" hair colorist and stylist. Echelon is a darling down to earth hair salon with a friendly and happy staff. Thank You Hai- you are extremely talented and you were able to create what I have always envisioned for my own personal look - Finally. I found Echelon through reading multiple positive reviews. When I went in for a spur of the moment short shag haircut, Hai also took the time to add some beautiful highlights and a styling lesson to help me recreate the look at home. I can tell that Hai takes his art seriously and his ability to create color and cuts which current with todays styles. read more

I recently got ripped off by Francisco. We agreed on a certain color for my extensions & he didn't do as we agreed. I paid $200 for the extensions which he agreed will work & later he said won't work. I can longer wear them or return them. He also charged me $100 to dye it & charged me twice for a haircut (he said he didn't but I later found the charges). I paid because he can be very confrontational & I didn't want to deal with that. I later contacted the manager for some advice & to see what my options are & she never called me back! read more

Went for the first time and Francisco was great! Love my cut and color and his fun personality! Will definitely be back!

4 months after this cut I FINALLY had enough length to go in for a trim at a different salon. Whatever massacre Liisa did to my hair is still around, some layers were so choppy there was nothing to do but continue to wait it out. If someone was doing your eyebrows and they ruined a chunk and didn't let you know you would request a refund, no? Never again. read more

Francisco did an amazing job fixing my hair after it was sadly messed up by another stylist at a different salon. I honestly couldn't be happier with the result and how much I needed this fix !! Okay so I searched for weeks for a great salon, we moved from the Bay Area and had only been in Folsom a month. In the Bay Area we had been seeing the same hair dresser for a decade... she did my daughters first cut and everything! I chose Exhelon because of the fantastic reviews... I should have actually read them deeper. The 5 star reviews are mainly for Jade who specializes in curly hair. I got Shelby for my 8 year old baby rapunzel and wow do I regret it! The ends of my daughter hair are not even or blended- all I wanted was a simple trim to clean up the ends and some long layers. I could have gone to super cuts for the same results and 1/4 the price.. I even tipped her $20 because I thought it looked great until I got her home and held her still to brush her hair out.. terrible! Man I'm so upset! read more

I took my mom here for her birthday to get her very first diva cut. In case you don't know what a diva cut is it's a haircut that's a specially designed for people with curly hair. My mom is been rocking her natural curls for many years and I thought a diva cut would be a nice way to in enhance how beautiful they are. We were able to make a last-minute appointment with Jade who had a little bit of time in between two appointments. While she wasn't able to do the full on style with my mom's curly hair she gave us a cheaper rate because of it. She did a great job cutting my moms hair and my mom really enjoyed the process. I will say the only problem was that my mom kept saying she wanted shorter hair and Jade seem to not want to do it supershort. I think if my mom had brought in some pictures it probably would've helped! Next time I come I will definitely make sure to bring pictures so that we can accurately describe exactly what we're looking for. I'm looking forward to getting my own diva cut in a few months. I think it's worth the drive out to Folsom to go visit Jade in case you don't live in the area. Not only is she nice, she's extremely talented and finding a good diva cut artist is hard to do. read more

Echelon Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Folsom, California

This salon is PHENOMENAL!!! I have been searching around & came across reviews for Echelon, 95% being so positive, gave it try. First walking in the salon is very cute & in a great little pocket before the rainbow bridge in Folsom. I was paired with Hai, a very sweet man, who transformed my hair stunningly. He cut about 7 inches (my last haircut was about 2 years ago & only had it trimmed once in that time span so it was in desperate need of change) & I could not be happier. I said I wanted bangs again & for my hair to shape my face & some laying/thinning (I had 2 ft long hair that is very thick) & it turned out better than I had hoped. I am shocked he does not have more reviews. PLEASE call & ask for him as your stylist, I will be seeing him regularly now, he said for my hair about every 8 weeks to come in for a touch up so I will be doing so. Thank you to this amazing salon & my wonderful new hair stylist. You're amazing Hai! Thank you again for my beautiful new hair. read more

I started writing this review while I was sitting in the salon under the dryer because I already knew that my curls were going to come out looking real righteous!!!! First time coming to this salon I was actually referred by another salon and I'm so glad I went. Jade is her name and slaying is her game!!! Not only did she bring my curls back to life she was extremely sweet down to earth and fun to be around. She knew a lot about curly hair and she knew the exact cocktail my specific curl type needed. Thank you Jade so much. read more

I have been going to this salon for years! My stylist is Lauren Rooney, who does exemplary work, and everyone compliments how my hair looks! Recently, she had a child and went on Maternity Leave, so I tried another stylist at this salon, named Courtney Nelson. She also did an outstanding job, and she explained how to keep it straight. (I have frizzy hair naturally), so now I have a good idea of how to take care of my hair and keep it straight. read more
