Salazar is always a great time. I've used them a couple times for events that I've had send the staff is always super helpful and kind. The food is DELICIOUS. The tacos are amazing, especially the steak one. Perfectly grilled and seasoned to perfection! The inside is pretty chill as well. Very welcoming.

Amazing atmosphere on the rooftop! Plenty of seating, great natural light / fresh air from the partially open roof, and friendly service. I came during happy hour which has plenty of good specials every day of the week--tacos are packed so two is enough for a full meal.

Cute little spot ! We had the nachos and I also had the pork belly taco which was also really good! Well priced for dc both drinks and food! Service was friendly and fast and would return during the day !

Salazar is a really fun bar! From the bell to throw shots at to the ample space for dancing and general mingling, it's an easy spot for a fun event. The churros were an easy highlight of the night despite the fun activities, company, and tasty drinks. They were light and flavorful with a chocolate dip that complimented the cinnamon perfectly. The chipotle chicken taco was exactly what I needed to pair with my margarita. The server went out of their way to find me amidst the crowd which was much appreciated. I'm excited to go back when the weathers a little warmer so I can better enjoy the rooftop experience!

I came here for a friends brunch and we had a great time. The food that was served to us was buffet style and was good. They served quesadillas, tacos, brunch potatoes, different style dips. And they had bottomless drinks that included mamosas, margarita, two types of beers. The management was very nice to work with. Igor was the manager on duty and he was very kind and accommodating! The bartender was super sweet as well! We were in a nice sized room in the back They also have a roof top where there's another bar and music! Over all good brunch experience

Came for a friend's going away party (she reserved the rooftop) and it was pretty fun! We sampled the chips, margaritas, I had a GREAT Paloma cocktail, and an Al pastor taco which was tasty! It never turned into a dance party like I hoped, and I'll ALWAYS miss El Centro brunch (RIP ), but I'm willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt and come back again!

Came to Caroline's for friend's birthday brunch and she took care of our whole party of over 20 without any complaints and super nice and super attentive. The food was so good for it being small servings. Music was great and of all genres. Overall 10/10

My daughter had a showcase next door so we stumbled across this restaurant completely by accident. I'm glad we did because we had a great time. We chose to dine in for brunch at the open area counter area near the entrance. There was no window there so it was great for people watching. The service was great and prompt. I ordered the breakfast burrito, the guacamole, and a cheese quesadilla for my daughter. Everything was SO good. I took half of my burrito home with me and it also reheated well. I'm so glad I found out about Salazar and I plan to go back soon. I want to check out the upstairs areas.

hosted my birthday party there this weekend and it was amazing! such a fun vibe and they gave me a free drink for hosting. the space was not super private so we definitely were mixed with a lot of other people but thats what you expect when renting a place to party for free. overall awesome and they stored my cake there and let us eat it at the bar!

I gotta say I enjoyed the heck outta myself at this place. Formerly El Centro, I have found myself coming for a more bar focus now rather than for brunch like I did with the previous establishment. One time was a part of a self-led holiday crawl where I was trying different spots with holiday decor... it was a blast then! Let's not talk about the bell challenge... I failed miserably LOL. But more recently I came to meet a couple folks for a casual happy hour. I started with food, getting some black bean quinoa & mango shrimp tacos. I... wasn't even hungry, but the tacos were phenomenal. I have some top-rated taco spots on the MD side, and this was the best thing I'd had since going to those places. the BBQ taco (as I will now call it LOL) was the perfect veggie taco and I'd send my sister there to check it out! I loved the mango shrimp too, but the BBQ definitely stole the show for me. I sipped on a margarita as well, which was a pretty darn good margarita... oh, that's right! I got chips & salsa too! That salsa was banging! I'd come back for the food easily! I'll be back for sure! Especially on Thursday, when HH is all night! :)

Ordered one of each of the tacos, except the black bean one!

Okay so looking at the brunch menu, I was sold! Bottomless drinks and tacos, I had to at leeeeast try it out! Unfortunately, mid is the first word that comes to mind after my brunch experience. A group of friends and I went here for a Saturday brunch service and were reminded upon entry that we had a 90 minute reservation and that it started as she was seating us. No problem, grateful for the reminder. Our server comes over and we immediately order drinks, another 90 minute reminder. Another person joined the party, another 90 minute reminder, this time with a little sass as the server said she "wished we had told her more people were coming because the clock started." The late person ordered yet had to wait 15 minutes or so for her drink. She mentioned it being a little weird that the same place repeatedly reminding us of the 90 minute limit was so slow in getting food and drinks out. I am pretty sure we were reminded about five times about the 90 minute limit. The tacos came and were alright, nothing to call home about. The best part of the experience was when our server brought out the pitchers of mimosas and margaritas. Due to the slow service, every time she came to our table, at least three people needed refills. She eventually brought the pitchers and though she made it seem like she was doing us a favor, it seemed mutually beneficial. I would not recommend going here for brunch and think even if food was mid, service could have definitely ben better.

Shrimp, Al Pastor, and Crispy Pork Tacos... Yummmm

Salazar is a total gem! I can't count how many birthdays, happy hours, and unforgettable events we've had here. Our organization loves to book out the basement and rooftop, and every single time, Salazar brings the energy and the flavor. Let me tell you--the shrimp tacos are legendary! Paired with one of their spot-on margaritas, you're set for a fantastic time. The vibe is always on point, and the staff makes everything so seamless. If you're looking for amazing food and a place that knows how to throw a party, Salazar is it! Treat yourself--you'll be back for more!

I had reached out to Salazar to plan a birthday party for my roommate and from the start, the service was absolutely incredible.

Downtown

What an...interesting experience…read more This bar sits on top of the Moxy Hotel, which is a sleek, modern spot in downtown DC. Unfortunately, getting to the rooftop was one of the most frustrating parts of the night. Access is only through the lobby, and the security team handling crowd control was completely disorganized. We were constantly being redirected with conflicting instructions: told to line up around the bar, then yelled at to move to the wall, then called to the elevator, then scolded for approaching it. It felt chaotic and unnecessarily hostile, like we were being managed instead of welcomed. To make things worse, IDs were checked multiple times (3-4 times per person) because there was no clear or centralized process. We were attending a birthday party that the venue itself had advertised on Instagram with ~75 guests expected at 9pm. When we arrived, we were told the rooftop was "closed" until 10. After waiting an hour in the lobby bar and dealing with the confusion above we finally got upstairs...only to find it already packed with people who had clearly been there for hours. The "reserved section" for our group was extremely underwhelming: a small space directly in front of a very loud DJ booth and a cold back corner where the heat lamps didn't work (and staff said there was nothing they could do). Service was just okay...no one was particularly friendly, but orders were eventually filled. The bar was oddly limited (only one beer option: Michelob Ultra), and some bartenders seemed unsure about basic drink requests (like a vodka soda with pineapple). The biggest issue came when we asked for the birthday cake we had given to staff earlier for storage. No one knew where it was. It took over 30 minutes and multiple staff members to locate it, and when we finally left for the night, the cake box was damaged beyond use with no remorse. Overall, this is much more of a crowded, club-style rooftop than a place for a planned event, dinner, or even conversation. The view is nice, but the experience didn't match the hype. If you go, expect a party vibe and minimal service and be prepared to navigate some very confusing (and inconsistent) security direction.

They gave us the two-hour heads up, which was totally fair. The outside seating area was closed off because of the weather, but honestly it didn't even rain. That didn't kill the vibe AT ALL though! We started with 4 orders of chips and guac and omg the guac had this perfect little spicy kick to it, chef's kiss! Everyone ordered something different and the carne asada was a total crowd favorite. My sister got the barbacoa tacos and was obsessed. We also got the elote with chips (didn't snap a pic but I'm STILL thinking about it). And there's this salad with strawberries and chicken that I was NOT expecting it to be that good. Now let's talk about the PALETA SHOTS - you HAVE to try these!! We kept ordering round after round. Also had some Espolón Blanco. For dessert we went all in with churros and tres leches cake and I have zero regrets. The DJ was killing it all night, playing r&b and taking requests! They even gave my cousin a birthday shoutout which made her whole night. The staff was on point, the energy was unmatched, and honestly I can't wait to come back. If you're looking for a fun spot with amazing food and good vibes, THIS IS IT! Highly recommend.

Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness -5/5…read more This place is for drinkers as it has no food, so if you want to lift an ale (and go out for dinner before or after, or bring food in with you), this is the place to be. They have a large beer, wine, and liquor list (although not nearly as many English beers as I expected from a place called Crown & Crow). I won't deny that I wasn't a fan of either of the mixed cocktails I had, with both (including strangely a smoky drink) being too sweet. But the beer was expertly poured and the wine was a very generous serving. The prices are also more than reasonable, which is great for a DC bar. But what really elevates this place is the service. By late night, the place was jam packed. But each and every bartender was extremely friendly and they expertly worked the crowd, getting drinks served quickly (which too few places manage to do) and swiftly clearing off tables of dirty glasses. I also greatly appreciated the free goldfish that they happily dole out to the patrons. The staff made this a really good time.

The bartender in that area was friendly, but unhelpful, directing us to use the front room's bartender, even though she wasn't busy when we approached and asked for a couple of drinks. The bartender in the main room was great, he was very friendly and once he started a tab for me he said I could use the other bar too, I guess he wasn't aware the bartender at that other bar already told me she wouldn't help me. Regardless, the drinks we had were decent. For small bites, they only had gold fish crackers, I wish they would have had more to nosh on while drinking. Overall, not a bad visit.

My waitress was super friendly, bubbly, and really knew the menu. She gave some great recommendations. I ordered the American breakfast and the biscuit French toast. Everything was good! The sunnyside eggs were especially great, and both the sausage and bacon were cooked really well. Even the arugula salad that came with the breakfast stood out. It had a light lemon vinaigrette that I really enjoyed. The hash browns with a fried block delight. I wasn't sure what to expect with the biscuit French toast, but it tasted exactly like it sounds. biscuits turned into French toast. It didn't have that classic French toast flavor, but it was still really good and worth trying. The atmosphere was nice, pretty packed, but the noise level was just right. My waitress checked on me often, which I appreciated. I'll definitely be coming back for brunch!

The response we received was, "Didn't we call you already?" Unfortunately, we had not been contacted, and this left us scrambling at the last minute with family, friends, and out-of-town guests already committed to the plans. It was a significant inconvenience, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. On a positive note, we were able to pivot to another establishment that handled our group with professionalism and care. We truly appreciated their ambiance and service, which helped salvage the evening. I hope Yardbird Southern Table & Bar improves its communication and reservation management so other guests don't experience a similar disruption.
