We both chose the sushi, which consisted of nigiri. The slices of fish were quite large. There was tuna, salmon, shrimp, and some unidentified white fish. All the fish were very fresh. The spicy tuna roll was indeed spicy. However, some pieces were mildly spiced while others had too much spice. My husband liked his California roll. A generous amount of ginger was given, as well as a generous amount of wasabi. As for the miso soup, it arrived at the table piping hot and had a good flavor. We were stuffed! This is the description they gave: "traditional poke sauce blends soy sauce, sesame oil, and often rice vinegar, along with aromatics like garlic and ginger. This classic combination makes the fish taste fresher, the vegetables more vibrant, and the rice more flavorful." The vegetables in the bowl were kernel corn, seaweed salad, and cucumbers. We've been going to Sakura for years. . Not the best sushi I've ever had but also not the worst. Must have changed owners because the sushi is just ok now. And the drinks are sooo weak. Mostly mixer, packed ice in small glasses. They were pretty busy at the hot tables with families and large groups, so we thought we'd give them one more chance. It's so convenient, why not. So the next time we went in we ordered straight off the menu, steak and salmon, with soup and salad. It was pretty pricey. $40.00 each . So we expected a nice meal. The salmon was very thin and small. And so overcooked it was like eating salmon jerkey. It was without a doubt Costco's frozen salmon that comes in a big bag. We made the mistake of buying it once so we are 100% sure it was Costco's frozen salmon. The steak was so small I literally asked if they had made a mistake and brought me a child's meal. The salad, well the same quality and quantity. A tad of lettuce and a couple of carrot curls throw on top. And a really tiny bowl of broth. Yes, broth. My husband's beer was the only saving grace. Ordered food for delivery, which came faster than expected. However, the food was terrible. My order: Teriyaki Vegetables - variety of plain steamed vegetables. The sauce was separately in the cutlery brown bag. I had to pour the small amount sauce over the veggies. Certainly wasn't enough to provide flavor. Certainly didn't taste like the teriyaki veggies (which are tossed in sauce) received in a restaurant. Also, about a half of cup of rice was given. Not the usual amount in restaurant. Specialty Veggie Roll - same ingredients as I've had at other places, but the taste wasn't the same. Veggie Spring Roll - four small with soggy insides. Total of $40. Complete waste of my last meal before jumping into the new year clean eating train. :/ read more

But I didn't get the chicken because the chef gave it to another guest, kinda disappointing because I really wanted to try the chicken.
