Japanese AYCE usually have lower quality of food, but not this one. This place allows unlimited orders of fresh sashimi and offers a good variety of cold and cooked dishes. We ordered salmon/yellowtail/tuna sashimi, scallop/seared salmon/tuna/raw shrimp/ikira nigiri, hamachi kama, tuna tartare, yellowtail jalapeño, salmon lover, fried oyster, fried calamari, soft shell crab, tonkatsu, spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and more. Free ice cream as well. Drinks cost extra. Adults $40. Kids have discounts. On Sundays around 6:30pm, the wait was roughly 30 minutes for a party of 6. This place is currently in soft opening phase. Hopefully the quality of the food and the generous selections will sustain.

I saw this place on Yelp and thought I must be misunderstanding what I'm reading. AYCE sashimi and it looks like this ?! I was not mislead. You CAN get bowl after bowl after bowl of fresh sashimi for $40 a person. Coming from Reno (which seems to be the birthplace of AYCE sushi) we always felt we could be ok with the lower quality sushi because it was THE only way to profitably do AYCE. We were wrong! Every piece was just as delicious (or more!) than the last. This seemed to be more of a locals spot than a tourist trap. We recommend going around 5 or 5:30 to avoid the crowd and the wait. We did get one roll. It was tasty. It had a lot less rice than we were used to which my husband loved but I could have added a little more rice. If you're not in to raw food but still want to join your friends then this is feasible here! Lots of udon, teriyaki, katsu, fried rice, and other appetizers. If you're in it for the cooked sushi, this is probably not the place to go. Loved the Takoyaki! So gooey and octopus was not too chewy. My only con was that I couldn't find a changing table.. I didn't know it was legal to not provide one, but honestly for the price and the fish quality it didn't bother me at all to go change the baby in the car and come back to eat more. I'm assuming given it's Napa there are higher end options, but for much higher prices and probably way more formal. Sake is much more of a casual place, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be back!

Great sashimi options and fish quality. I was surprised they had salmon belly and sweet shrimp. Terrible service. I had to flag the waitress down every time I wanted to order. Several items did not come out so i reordered but they still did not come. After requesting the order several times and waiting 45 minutes, we finally received them.

My friends and I came here for lunch when they first opened. The restaurant is a good size, and they can accompany large groups. The lunch menu has so many dishes to choose from. I really enjoyed the Jalapeno bomb and sakura roll. The Godzilla and spicy tuna rolls were great. Everything we ordered was tasty. The staff are very helpful and attentive. They were pretty busy and managed to check on us pretty often. I plan on returning for dinner time to try sashimi since it's not included during lunch time.

After my wife and her friends had a excellent dining experience, she wanted to bring us. Unfortunately, we didn't get the same me. In her first experience, she went during the week around 5pm. She says they weren't too busy so food came out in a timely manner and food came out consistently cooked the same way. When we went, it was a Saturday around 6pm. Wait was about 40 min. Staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, our food took a long to come or it never came. In our first order, we ordered a handful of items. Half came in about 10 minutes and the half never came. After 30mins, we followed up a second time and they said it was probably served to a different table by mistake. Most of the food we ordered were good like the sashimi, nigiri, vegetable tempura and hamachi. The hibachi beef was good but when we ordered a second, it was overcooked. The hibachi shrimp was very salty that we couldn't eat it. The vegetable tempura was good and crispy. However, the shrimp tempura was not crispy. The beef fried rice was oily. Considering it's a soft opening, there's definitely room for improvement. Be patient on weekends or if they're really busy. We'll probably come back when they're more settled to see if it's changed.

Woohoo! I am so happy they decided to open an AYCE sushi in Napa. We tried the restaurant Saturday around 6pm and joined the waitlist. The wait was around 30 minutes, which I expected since it's a new place on a Saturday. We were seated and were quickly greeted and brought water. There is no set server for the table they are all just walking around and taking orders which could be a bit chaotic at times. But, we were able to place 3 rounds when we needed to. (Suggestion for ordering AYCE - make sure to know what you want and place a big first round to start so that you don't need to continually stop the servers). The food came out pretty quickly and the presentation of the dishes were all great. The quality of the fish and hot foods were 10/10 and absolutely no complaints. I love that you can order sashimi and when you order a roll/nigiri they do not bulk on the rice. Also big kudos to the servers too they were all nonstop moving around the floor ensuring to get to each table. Hopefully they keep the great momentum and quality up to par as I would love to come back again!

Dined in on a weekend during the first week of the grand opening so there were a few kinks including some mix up orders with other tables. Service was attentive and nice. The fish is super fresh. I particularly enjoyed the sashimi along with the presentation. Sushi rolls were smaller with not too much rice. Miso soup could've been hotter. Great variety of options with good quality food, especially for an Ayce! I've also had their party takeout tray which was $65. It was fresh and delicious with a nice variety of rolls and nigiri.

Sake in Napa used to be a Carl's Jr. so do not expect tatami rooms and shoji screens. AYCE doesn't mean a buffet in warming trays here. Each dish is prepared and brought to you. That said, I came here on Sunday with my daughter to try this new restaurant in Napa. The menu has a good selection of many types of dishes, both hot and cold. Depending on the item, there will be be 2-3 pieces (ex: shrimp tempura, veg tempura, nigiri). Sashimi is by the piece so you can order one or several. I was especially impressed with the presentation of the sashimi. If you like what you order, order it again. Empty dishes did not stack on the table. Someone was always coming around to take them away. Sake is casual, a place to bring the family, good, and my daughter said "yummy" (as she had 21 pieces of sashimi herself). It is not located in downtown so I think it will be a place for locals not tourists. They are still having the soft opening but I hope nothing changes.

This is my new favorite AYCE sushi spot! The food is fantastic. The fish was so fresh. The rice to fish ratio is great. The appetizers were so good as well. For an old Carl's jr, they made the space work! Everything is clean and the waiters/waitresses were so nice! They just opened and are still in the process of hiring more staff, so please give them grace if they do take a bit to get your food. I cannot wait to go back!

I came to Sake during their first week, and our group of 3 came around 5:00pm and were seated about 15-20min after arriving - by the time we left around 7pm there seemed to be a pretty long line of people waiting. The space is clean, but not too decorated or fancy - which is fine by me, because the fish is excellent! Service was pretty good for how busy they were - we were able to find someone to place an order relatively easily throughout out time there, and everything we ordered came out as ordered except for 2 salads we never ended up getting. Do note some things do take longer to come out, like the hamachi kama. We tried a lot of different things, but the standouts were the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi and the seared nigiri. The seaweed handrolls and the maki rolls is kind of soggy, which made them hard to eat, and I think I'd generally stay away from things that involve the sushi. The rice in the nigiri was surprisingly good, not mushy or overly seasoned. The fish was of great quality, though we did notice that throughout our time there the cut of tuna/salmon would be different (i.e. sometimes a more fatty vs a more lean cut of the fish), which is understandable given how much fish they must be going through - just a note in case you're picky about what cut of sashimi you get. We tried some appetizers, including the edamame, the takoyaki, and the hamachi kama, and these were all pretty good. The sashimi specials at the end of the menu were also good, but I'll definitely be back for the sashimi and nigiri!

I went back to Sake two weeks after my previous visit and it was definitely better! While I went earlier in the day before noon, service was excellent with the only blip being that the Teriyaki Salmon took around 20 minutes to arrive while the other appetizers took about half that time or less - the server did thank me for waiting for what it's worth. I also felt the Salmon appetizer portion was noticeably small for something that took so long to come out, so if you want to have a more substantial portion of that or the other Shrimp, Beef, or Chicken Teriyaki or Hibachi plates, I'd probably recommend ordering 2 or more of it. I asked for no soy sauce on the sushi rice this time which they happily obliged on and found the rice to be a lot better and not warm like the previous visit. I admittedly still have had better sushi rice elsewhere, but it definitely is serviceable here. Most importantly though, the fish flavor was as delicious and fresh as last time. One minor but noticeable disappointment was that they were still out of the Green Tea Ice Cream dessert 2 weeks after my first visit, I hope at some point I'll be able to have it! That being said, I tried their Genmaicha Roasted Rice Green Tea and found it to be super fragrant. I love my Green Tea and this was delightful! The things I'd really like to see are Sashimi available at lunch time on the weekdays without having to pay $40, an option of Chirashi (a bowl of sushi rice with the fish on top almost like Sashimi), and possibly a senior or child discount which I know other buffets offer. I had the following and barely finished it because it was so much food: Appetizers Miso Soup Pan Fried Gyoza Fried Cheese Wontons Teriyaki Salmon Nigiri Sushi: 6 Yellowtail 6 Tamago 6 Mackerel 3 Tuna 3 Salmon 3 Albacore

Came here on their soft opening after our friend had visited and recommended that we try it too! It was a little past peak lunch hour, but there was still a waiting room full of people in a steady trickle of folks coming in to put their name down on the list for a table. Once we were seated at our table, we were quickly brought drinks, and our orders were taken. The food came out quickly. The presentation was beautiful. The fish was very fresh. We enjoyed the sashimi and a number of rolls. We tried the egg rolls and the agedashi tofu, which were both disappointing. However, stirfry udon and tempura and fried rice were all good. It was a bit hard to flag down a server to place additional food orders but that may just be due to the new staff adjusting. The service was very polite and we did not feel rushed at all, but the speed at which the orders were coming out of the kitchen slowed to a crawl around mid afternoon. We suspected maybe it was break time for some of the kitchen staff. In any case, all in all, this was a good experience and we will certainly be back! Napa really needed a good casual Japanese restaurant serving good quality fish and the fact that this is AYCE at a reasonable price is fantastic!

For a soft opening they did pretty good with the massive waitlist at their door. Roughly between up to an hour wait on a busy night. Had 3 guys working the sushi bar for a full house! They did their best with the huge crowd. Was pleasantly impressed with the sashimi! Fresh slices and just melted. So good! Had a good laugh when they would use such a huge plate for one piece of sashimi so better to order multiple when choosing the sashimi. They do put on the menu one slice per sashimi but you can order multiple. Friendly owners and the staff super patient and friendly. They do what they can to change the vibe to a AYCE versus the Carls Jr. set up.

The buffet opened at 5:00 so we got in line at 4:45 and we noticed there was quite a line forming. A host called for the VIP people to head to the left and they had a special cashier handling these guests. You pay first and then a server escorts you to a table. They were seating people outside on the covered deck too. The employees said it is quite nice out there with the heaters. Since it was a rainy and cold day, we decided to be seated indoors. The interior is smaller than I expected and they gave us a large table off to the side. The line for the buffet looked long but it moved along. There is an adjacent room where you go for the main menu items (pasta, egg rolls, Asian chicken, soups, rolls, prime rib, chicken piccata, fish, shrimp, salads, etc), and desserts are just outside of this room. The line for the buffet formed straight through the dining room so we were walking right next to tables where guests were eating. I was glad we didn't get seated in this area. The food was surprisingly good. My favorites were the prime rib, cranberry wild rice, and mashed potatoes. Their Caesar salad was really fresh with crisp greens and lots of shaved parmesan. The prime rib carver will ask your preference on how you like your meat cooked. I asked for a small piece but the nice carver is happy to give you larger cuts too. We all agreed that their prime rib was excellent. The employees are all very sweet. They ask for drink orders and they are good about removing your empty dishes. Desserts were okay, but nothing exceptional. We all said if they had soft serve, we would be elated. We all agreed that this dinner was 100% better than the Thanksgiving meal we had in November but the employees were super nice and accommodating both times we were there. The prime rib was good but we were a bit disappointed with the overall dining experience. It was basically cafeteria food: edible but not memorable.

Well Hibachi Grill Buffet is not a gem but it's definitely a local favorite for sure. There were lots of people coming and going on a Friday around 1pm. Total price for 2 people plus tips was $45. The space is huge with even more seating in the back that they had closed off. Food is steadily being cooked from the kitchen. There is a hibachi grill where you can pick your own beef or chicken and vegetables. Sadly this wasn't too tasty and I thought the beef was cut way too thick for grilling. The sushi section was also a fail. Everything was a Frankenstein type of roll made with the same basic fake imitation crab. The fried section looked tempting but didnt actually taste good. Desserts were very basic and nothing that $5 Safeway deals can't get you. Service and people were very nice and they were great about cleaning plates and maintaining a clean environment. There were a few hot items that I liked so I mainly just stuck to those things. Check out my pics and videos for all of their offerings. My favorite was the "scallion chicken stirfry" which actually tasted authentic and the bbq chicken was also pretty tasty. For the price, it's fair but not something I would go to again.

We'd always only gone for their lunch menu before, but we were really craving sushi and sashimi last night, so we thought Fuji would be the best place to go since we were starving!! We noticed that the dinner menu wasn't that much different from the lunch. Seems like only a handful of items are added, so we still made sure to try some of those dinner-only items. One was the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab, and it was absolutely delicious! The whole thing was edible, so there was no need to de-shell the crab, and the tempura batter was nice and crispy. The crab also didn't taste fishy at all. I also liked that they served it with a tempura dipping sauce on the side because it helped refresh the dish and cut back on the greasiness a little bit. Another thing I was really super curious to try was the Smoked Salmon. I did order it, but I think the guy working at the sashimi section misheard me and ended up giving me regular salmon instead - boo! I wanted to go back and order more later, but by that point I was already really full, so I decided not to be greedy. Other than that, everything else was pretty much the same as the lunch offerings. In general, my brother and I really like this place. It's definitely our go-to spot when it comes to all you can eat sushi and sashimi. My brother and I love getting a huge plate of sashimi with a variety of fish like Salmon, Yellowtail, Mackerel, and even Unagi too. I also love how quick the service was, and they impose no limitation on how many times we can order or how many items we can get each round. We just feel really comfortable eating here. For the price, it's very affordable as you pay a flat price and can order everything off the menu. There's no extra charge for sashimi either which I found that all other ayce sushi places do and even with the extra charge for sashimi at other places, their sashimi is often small and the quality is low or just poorly prepared. At Fuji, the sashimi is always consistent and they provide great cuts and variety of sashimi like salmon, eel, tuna, mackerel, and more. I love that it's already included as part of the price and there's no hidden or extra fees. The rolls taste great as well! You can easily grab the rolls from the shelf where they put the freshly made rolls or if you don't see the rolls you want, you can ask the sushi chefs to make them. Personally, I find it more worth it to ask the sushi chefs for sashimi, hand rolls, and the aburi (seared) salmon which is my personal favorite here lol. For the appetizers, you need to order with the waiters but luckily they're very quick and attentive! The fried oyster is really good. The space itself is pretty large and you'll either be seated at a table or at the bar but if you're able to choose, definitely go with the bar! The bar includes the rotating conveyor belt which often has salmon nigiri and other small dishes which makes it more convenient to sit there. This review has been long overdue tbh but I've been here enough times and the quality, consistency, variety, and price is what makes me keep coming back!
