I used don't like AYCE sushi because usually the stores served low grade sashimi and service were always hit and miss. But Sake lifted up the standard. The sashimi are fresh and the food was served quick and with nice presentation. They have a wide variety to pick from hot dishes to sushi rolls to sashimi. Everything is delicious. Server always pay attention to what we need. And at the end we were also offered for ice cream. Will definitely go back with friends and family.

Found a great AYCE sushi place in a Napa strip mall. Service was quick and we were checked on repeatedly for beverage service and made to order items from the menu. Everything is included with no uncharges. There are a good amount of rolls to choose from, appetizer assortment, nigiri with not too much rice, hand rolls, and sashimi. The portions are small so you can sample or specify how many you want of each. Fish tasted fresh. We finished our meal with green tea ice cream.

Great AYCE sushi. One thing to note is you pre-order e.g how many slices of fish or Nigir for Sashimi. I tend to order by two of each i wanted to try and you can order again. My husband and took a slow approach of ordering some salad and appetizers and one roll(8 pieces). 2nd time a few more different Sashimi, hamachi kama(1 order per person so not unlimited) and 1 roll. 3rd order same but with soft shell crab. You dont want to waste as they will charge you but also why waste food as my nanay would remind me. 90mins is a time limit so no super slow eating . Worth the price as you get a lot and different choices. A big group allows you to try different rolls but with just two of us we kept it to two rolls while ordering a lot of Sashimi and nigiris. Sashimi was fresh. The rolls and selections were extensive. Has some different from the pinole location like salmon skin salad, seared tuna Sashimi, green tea ice cream, Hamachi kama (don't remember if pinole has this one). Salmon Skin Salad. Yummy slightly sweet dressing. Sashimi was great my faves were the seared tuna, white tuna, and salmon but everything was fresh nicely sliced into bite size. Hamachi kama was perfectly grilled just on a small size for 1 order My hubby and ai had 2 bites each. We didn't order the 2nd one just too much work lol. But the sauce was great we kept dipping our sashimi in it. This location has green tea ice cream served in cute little cups with wooden spoon like elementary school days lol..it was very frozen so waited a few minutes to let it thaw. Service was great they cleared plates and took our orders promptly. There was no wait when we went Sunday around 7:30pm.

This is such a great addition to Napa. There isn't any AYCE sushi places close by unless you go to Fairfield or Vacaville or Concord so this is perfect for us American Canyon/Napa folks. The sashimi and the nigiri is so fresh and buttery. I love how the presentation of the sashimi is on par with higher end sushi establishments. That special touch does not go unnoticed. They also have way more selection than other AYCE sushi spots such as fried rice, short ribs, teriyaki, and they also have an extensive appetizer and salad menu. The service is great, the food comes out quick and you get ice cream for dessert! I feel the price is worth it and I've gone here 4 times since they opened. The wait is not usually more than 15 minutes but I try to go at off times to beat the rush. I highly recommend if you have a big appetite but a small wallet lol

Came for lunch right when they opened at 11 on a Tuesday. As the first ones there, we had prompt service while their crew was still eating. The food came out quickly. The nigiri was all good. The ambiance isn't amazing as I read this was a former Wendy's. But who needs frills? This is pretty high quality sushi for AYCE. And lunch is only $25. Would definitely come back and try dinner

Japanese AYCE usually have lower quality of food, but not this one. This place allows unlimited orders of fresh sashimi and offers a good variety of cold and cooked dishes. We ordered salmon/yellowtail/tuna sashimi, scallop/seared salmon/tuna/raw shrimp/ikira nigiri, hamachi kama, tuna tartare, yellowtail jalapeño, salmon lover, fried oyster, fried calamari, soft shell crab, tonkatsu, spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and more. Free ice cream as well. Drinks cost extra. Adults $40. Kids have discounts. On Sundays around 6:30pm, the wait was roughly 30 minutes for a party of 6. This place is currently in soft opening phase. Hopefully the quality of the food and the generous selections will sustain.

I saw this place on Yelp and thought I must be misunderstanding what I'm reading. AYCE sashimi and it looks like this ?! I was not mislead. You CAN get bowl after bowl after bowl of fresh sashimi for $40 a person. Coming from Reno (which seems to be the birthplace of AYCE sushi) we always felt we could be ok with the lower quality sushi because it was THE only way to profitably do AYCE. We were wrong! Every piece was just as delicious (or more!) than the last. This seemed to be more of a locals spot than a tourist trap. We recommend going around 5 or 5:30 to avoid the crowd and the wait. We did get one roll. It was tasty. It had a lot less rice than we were used to which my husband loved but I could have added a little more rice. If you're not in to raw food but still want to join your friends then this is feasible here! Lots of udon, teriyaki, katsu, fried rice, and other appetizers. If you're in it for the cooked sushi, this is probably not the place to go. Loved the Takoyaki! So gooey and octopus was not too chewy. My only con was that I couldn't find a changing table.. I didn't know it was legal to not provide one, but honestly for the price and the fish quality it didn't bother me at all to go change the baby in the car and come back to eat more. I'm assuming given it's Napa there are higher end options, but for much higher prices and probably way more formal. Sake is much more of a casual place, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be back!

Great sashimi options and fish quality. I was surprised they had salmon belly and sweet shrimp. Terrible service. I had to flag the waitress down every time I wanted to order. Several items did not come out so i reordered but they still did not come. After requesting the order several times and waiting 45 minutes, we finally received them.

After my wife and her friends had a excellent dining experience, she wanted to bring us. Unfortunately, we didn't get the same me. In her first experience, she went during the week around 5pm. She says they weren't too busy so food came out in a timely manner and food came out consistently cooked the same way. When we went, it was a Saturday around 6pm. Wait was about 40 min. Staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, our food took a long to come or it never came. In our first order, we ordered a handful of items. Half came in about 10 minutes and the half never came. After 30mins, we followed up a second time and they said it was probably served to a different table by mistake. Most of the food we ordered were good like the sashimi, nigiri, vegetable tempura and hamachi. The hibachi beef was good but when we ordered a second, it was overcooked. The hibachi shrimp was very salty that we couldn't eat it. The vegetable tempura was good and crispy. However, the shrimp tempura was not crispy. The beef fried rice was oily. Considering it's a soft opening, there's definitely room for improvement. Be patient on weekends or if they're really busy. We'll probably come back when they're more settled to see if it's changed.

We waited ~20 min for 2 people, not too bad for a Friday night, it was through yelp so you can do it ahead even. The restaurant was clean, lots of servers and waiters who were very attentive. They came to clear the plates and take new orders pretty quickly. The food didn't take long (except the kamas, those the warn you it takes 30 min) everything was fresh and delicious! Def worth the money and would come back

This is my new favorite AYCE sushi spot! The food is fantastic. The fish was so fresh. The rice to fish ratio is great. The appetizers were so good as well. For an old Carl's jr, they made the space work! Everything is clean and the waiters/waitresses were so nice! They just opened and are still in the process of hiring more staff, so please give them grace if they do take a bit to get your food. I cannot wait to go back!

My friends and I came here for lunch when they first opened. The restaurant is a good size, and they can accompany large groups. The lunch menu has so many dishes to choose from. I really enjoyed the Jalapeno bomb and sakura roll. The Godzilla and spicy tuna rolls were great. Everything we ordered was tasty. The staff are very helpful and attentive. They were pretty busy and managed to check on us pretty often. I plan on returning for dinner time to try sashimi since it's not included during lunch time.

Woohoo! I am so happy they decided to open an AYCE sushi in Napa. We tried the restaurant Saturday around 6pm and joined the waitlist. The wait was around 30 minutes, which I expected since it's a new place on a Saturday. We were seated and were quickly greeted and brought water. There is no set server for the table they are all just walking around and taking orders which could be a bit chaotic at times. But, we were able to place 3 rounds when we needed to. (Suggestion for ordering AYCE - make sure to know what you want and place a big first round to start so that you don't need to continually stop the servers). The food came out pretty quickly and the presentation of the dishes were all great. The quality of the fish and hot foods were 10/10 and absolutely no complaints. I love that you can order sashimi and when you order a roll/nigiri they do not bulk on the rice. Also big kudos to the servers too they were all nonstop moving around the floor ensuring to get to each table. Hopefully they keep the great momentum and quality up to par as I would love to come back again! read more

They've only been open for about a month now so I'll give them some grace considering they're so new. Just like any ayce, they have a time limit of 2hrs which is totally understandable. What's difficult is when service is super slow and getting your order taken takes 20+ min every time you want to order something not to mention waiting for your food to be prepared. Portions are a bit small, again understandable for ayce but some are just funny of how little comes in. definitely recommend ordering a lot to start with since you dont really know the next time your server will be around. Hopefully it gets better over time. read more

They've been open four days now and I've already been twice, it's that good. I've been waiting for an AYCE sushi spot to open in Napa for DECADES, and I'm so happy Sake finally took the plunge! I know Napa can be hit or miss for most restaurants, but Sake is doing it the right way. Away from downtown, and more geared to locals. There was about a 15-minute wait the second time I went, and I suspect that will be the case every day from now on. Super fresh sashimi and rolls, original options and a big menu, plus it's affordable! $26 AYCE for lunch, and $40 AYCE for dinner? That is unheard of for sushi in Napa! That will get you just 1-2 rolls in Napa at other sushi spots, and lately the other options are either just okay, or very expensive, or both. Even during their busy soft-opening weekend, the service at Sake was fairly quick when we wanted it, and very friendly, and we didn't feel rushed or ignored at all. My kids loved it, (and it was only $12.99 for them!) plus a small, grab-your-own-ice-cream-out-of-the-freezer is included, which was fun for my kids, and just the perfect amount. Not fancy, but really, really good, family-friendly, and affordable. We'll be there once a week for sure! read more

I came last week Saturday around 1145am . Food so far so good but take too long time cook like grill fish 45 mins another restaurant is 20mins-25mins if busy. Service bad when we came sit they ask what kind drink we answer 2 times and never bring drink until after first round foods on table. We have to ask again. The ambiance of Sake is nice and relaxing as well as the interior lighting provides richness on every morsel's colors. Also the food!!! I don't know which one stands as the best dish ie sashimi platter, nigiri, or the varieties of sushi rolls and many more. Everything is great, melts into the mouth, and such umami to be savored. In addition, the seafood is fresh and has the flavor of them being freshly caught. Finally the service itself the waiters and waitresses provide their quick services well to customers. This is our first time my family and myself ate in this eatery and will comeback again. Also I highly recommend this to my friends and coworkers who have yet to try Napa's Sake. All I can say, there are other Japanese restaurants out there we have tried, but this is the best and it's a five star review eatery. read more

Staff is very friendly and timely. They make their rounds back to your table about every 15mins. The food isn't the best, a lot of fried options, but it gets the job done well. Great for AYCE, the price tag is great for how much you can get. Just be careful you don't get seated directly under the AC vent. read more

This the best Japanese ayce restaurant in the Bay Area! There are so many appetizers and cooked items to choose from, including salmon teriyaki, Tempura soft shell crab, udon etc making it very kid friendly. Hamachi Kama is cooked to perfection with a thin crispy outside and a juicy tender inside. Sashimi are so fresh that you can taste the sweetness of fish and shrimps. Short ribs have quality that's comparable to famous Korean restaurants. The salmon and mango dish is innovative and refreshing. The hamachi jalapenos has an enjoyable sour taste. The rolls have a very good fish to rice ratio and the selections are both innovative and many. Waiters are very friendly and the whole restaurant is very spacious. read more

We tried Sake last week and enjoyed it very much. It was refreshing to eat in a simple dining room with good service filled with locals. Dinner was a very good value for the price. Sake serves made-to-order California Style sushi which is a fusion of traditional sushi and CA ingredients like avocado, razor-thin slices of jalapeño, and non-traditional sauces like Sriracha. I like California rolls that are actually rolled inside-out (uramaki). If you are a sushi purist who travels to Japan often, this may not be the place for you. The actual famous French food critic who went by the pen name of "Curnonsky", who helped develop the Michelin star system, would have categorized this food as La Cuisine Improvisée. I think he would approved of the non-traditional style. Fun fact - "Curnonsky" was a play on the Latin phrase Cur non? ("Why not?"). That might make me a peasant, but this peasant left with a full belly and happy. read more

I am going to give this restaurant 1 star as this is the minimum but to me it was a minus 100....Not sure what all the fuss is about this place but this is the worst food I have ever had. I would not even call it Japanese food as I do not want to insult the japanese. The food was just horrendous from the very weak miso soup, the usavory nigiri sushi to the unappetizing Beef Hibashi....I have been to japan quite often and this is in no way how Japanese food taste like. Save you hard earned cash and skip this place. Service was gracious but that does not make up for bad food. As far as the ambiance goes, it was like eating in a train station cafeteria. That must be why it is so cheap, poor quality product and poor cooking. read more

New AYCE in Napa...Extensive menu with very fresh sushi and sashimi. The service is still a work in progress but nonetheless fast and efficient. The food blows away any other AYCE sushi spots around the area. The appetizer lineup is already enough to fulfill your cravings, specially the fried oysters and the Hamachi Kama...Wow!!. What comes to mind is Umami in Las Vegas. read more

I am overjoyed to share that this all you can eat sushi restaurant is absolutely amazing!! What a good find! I initially came earlier this week on Wednesday with a few colleagues and enjoyed the fresh and delicious hand rolls and signature rolls. I wanted to experience the dinner menu as a friend told me their sashimi is incredibly fresh and delicious, and I love sashimi so I was sold. I went back to the restaurant today (Friday) for the dinner menu and the sashimi was amazingly delicious and incredibly fresh. My favorite is the pepper fin sashimi. It melts in your mouth!! So delicious!!! The service is also great and quick and the ambiance is great as well! read more

Visited while pregnant and unable to eat raw fish, and we came to celebrate my husband's birthday. I only wanted something simple like soup and vegetable tempura, but was told I still had to pay the full all-you-can-eat price if my husband ordered it, or we both had to order individually. Because of this, my husband wasn't even able to enjoy the all-you-can-eat option on his own and had to switch to ordering everything à la carte, which took away from the experience--especially since it was his birthday dinner. I understand restaurants have policies, but it would have been nice to see some flexibility or accommodation for dietary restrictions. I wasn't trying to share food, just order something small I could actually eat. Unfortunately, the situation made things uncomfortable enough that we decided to leave. Just something to be aware of if you're pregnant or have dietary limitations. The main issue was the lack of flexibility and customer service in handling dietary restrictions, rather than the food or ambiance. read more

WOW WOW WOW I'm very particular when it comes to sushi. One bad bite that pulls or is stringy and I'm OUT! This place came highly recommended. Went there for Father's Day with 3 kids for the $40 all you can eat. Place was hustlin plates in and out of the dinning area. All happy faces and yummy sounds. We were so excited... Got to our table and ordered drinks and edamame. They came out quick and we made our first order. A couple rolls and several nigiri. Again they came out quickly, little waiting for how busy they were. Easily the hands down, absolute, all time best sushi I've ever had. Kids loved everything. Def recommend for all read more

came around lunch time & decided to upgrade to the dinner option! it was sooo worth it especially since the sashimi tastes so fresh and there's no limit on how many pieces to order at a time! the dinner option also includes hibachi items, so I got the short ribs too. they're a bit on the fattier side but the flavor is still good. it would be a 5/5 if the service wasn't so slow. There would be times throughout the meal where it would be hard to flag down a server to order. read more

Awesome restaurant! Entering the restaurant you are met by a sushi bar instantly and was welcome from all the sushi chefs working. There was a table being seated at the moment so I took some time to check out the sushi bar. All the fish looked super fresh and no whiffs of fishy smell. I was then seated and taken care of by Mina. She was friendly, super knowledgeable on the menu, and made sure I got all the food I wanted. It was busy on a weekend but she was able to take care of her other tables and me attentively while efficiently. The food was great! The appetizer was so good especially the cheese wontons. My 2 favorite rolls off the menu were the Mt. Fuji and King Kong. I had a great time dinning here and felt like a king being served. The place was clean and had a great atmosphere. When I was finished they also had ice cream to top it all off. This place was fantastic definitely worth the drive. read more

After my sons baseball game is rained out, on the way home we decided to try Sake sushi AYCE. Went there during soft opening. We were seated right away but had to wait to order longer than expected. Ambience is adequate. Adequate spacing of dining tables. Not overwhelmingly close. Recommend relaxing music. Restroom(men) could be more updated but acceptable and clean. When it comes to food, no complaints. Im a hand roll type of guy and i wished they had salmon skin hand roll in the menu. You can never go wrong with salmon skin hand roll. Hands down! One of the bests sashimis ive ever had. Come on in and try and see what i mean. Price is as expected. We definitely return with an empty stomach and try other options in the menu. read more

Great addition, huge menu, fast service, and $26 for lunch. We're going back and soon. One problem, they clearly don't understand there's a water shortage, and serve huge glasses of ice water that go mostly down the drain. I wish they would practice don't serve water unless asked for. read more

Me and my wife were blown away with how good everything was. We tried about 10 different things and loved them all. Service was on point and the wait wasn't too bad. We will definitely be coming back soon to try more items on the menu. read more

The food was delicious! Very high-quality and they did not skimp on anything! The rolls are full size rolls. Very large variety, even for lunch. The lunch menu is smaller than the dinner menu, but we did not feel like we were missing out on anything. They have ice cream cups for desert. It is pre packaged, but sill tasty!! You can even purchase individual rolls and apps to go! We will definitely be back!! read more

They charge dinner price on a weekend. Food quality is good. Sushi rolls are small. It takes awhile for the food and servers to take your order. So order as many as you want from the menu. And be sure to check to make sure they got your order right once it comes out coz they messed up some of ours. Ambiance is just okay. Fuji or Kura is much better. Im not coming back. read more

The line for the buffet formed straight through the dining room so we were walking right next to tables where guests were eating. I was glad we didn't get seated in this area. The food was surprisingly good. My favorites were the prime rib, cranberry wild rice, and mashed potatoes. Their Caesar salad was really fresh with crisp greens and lots of shaved parmesan. The prime rib carver will ask your preference on how you like your meat cooked. I asked for a small piece but the nice carver is happy to give you larger cuts too. We all agreed that their prime rib was excellent. The employees are all very sweet. They ask for drink orders and they are good about removing your empty dishes. Desserts were okay, but nothing exceptional. We all said if they had soft serve, we would be elated. We all agreed that this dinner was 100% better than the Thanksgiving meal we had in November but the employees were super nice and accommodating both times we were there. Dining area is clean and managed well. The greatest thing is that this place is non-smoking! There is a large multi-level parking garage.

After reviewing a few hot pot places on Yelp, I chose Shabu King based on the positive reviews. I called to make a reservation. On the day of our visit, I was glad to find our table was ready at the appointed time. One of the staff explained that each person first pick a broth type, then you can request side dishes or type of meat(different cuts of beef, pork and there is also lamb). For vegetables and seafood, they have a bar area for each and you can pick from the generous selections of fresh seafood and vegetables. I was really impressed with the variety. For seafood, they have whole small octopus, sliced calamari, fish fillets, clams, mussels, whole large prawns, as well as small crab. They also have a condiment bar for you to make you own dipping sauce. Each person get their own pot, and we enjoyed many helpings throughout the evening. Sometimes it may be difficult to flag down a server, but when you do they are friendly and eager to take your order. I think their operation can be improved by having customers scan a bar code and order online as I have experienced in other AYCE places. Everyone in our party enjoyed their own customized hot pot, and we walked away with a very full belly. Will be back again when I have the craving for AYCE hot pot!

Now they definitely get full, but they have a good amount of seating inside and outside. They also have some bar seating and it's usually easier to snag a spot at the bar. We stopped by for some afternoon oysters and enjoyed their Happy Hour Specials. They have happy hour Monday-Thursday from 4-6PM and I highly recommend going at that time. The daily oyster was 12 for $30. So we went for those babies with a side of the old bay fries and 2 glasses of cava. The oysters are incredibly fresh with a rich and creamy texture. They're also shucked to perfection. Perks of sitting at the bar, you can see the shuckers hard at work! The old bay fries are a must! Perfectly fried, thick cut fries giving you just the right amount of potato and the old bay seasoning gives it a delicious spicy seasoned flavor. And this pairs so well with the oysters and the bubbly! Hit them up for some fresh oysters!!

I recently tried the new all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Napa and it's genuinely one of the smarter AYCE concepts I've come across. They clearly understand the format -- portions are intentionally small and perfectly sized so you can keep ordering without feeling stuffed or wasting food. Unlike a place I went to in Nevada that served full-sized orders and then hit me with waste fees when I couldn't finish everything, this spot keeps the pieces manageable. You still pay a waste fee if you leave anything behind and can't take it home, but because the portions are thoughtful, it's way easier to avoid that. The service is mostly excellent. Staff continuously circle the dining room checking on tables, so you're never stuck waiting for just your assigned server. You can flag down anyone passing by and your next order comes out smoothly. The team is friendly and attentive -- though one server named Danny had a more restrictive, take-it-or-leave-it style that felt a bit limiting compared to the rest of the staff. I'm not going to let that ruin my day or affect this review, so the 5 stars remain. Overall I left feeling satisfied. The atmosphere felt modern yet casual! Perfect for a family with kids like ourselves. It truly is all you can eat, anything off their menu! $40 per adults , our two kids were free since they were under 4 years old! For everything we ate it felt very fair. Service was great, however it seems like everyone working there is helping you, seemed a bit confusing since we never knew who our exact "server" was. However, super fast with the drink refills & food considering how busy it was. Quality of the food - it's not like "omg this is the best food I've ever had!" For an all you can eat sushi restaurant, this place has the best quality in food, especially their sashimi. Servers are nice and the food comes quickly. I prefer to come for the dinner menu, the extra $15 is worth the additional items. Items worth ordering: hamachi kama, short ribs, spider roll, unagi don, sashimi (tuna, salmon, yellow tail are our go to's), shrimp and vegetable tempura, vegetable fried rice, and many more we can't quite remember. read more

Third visit since open. I am not sure if they ever had a slow day because every time I go there, they are quite busy. Anyway! The food, once again, was incredible. The sashimi was fresh and the service was great. Will go again this weekend! read more

Great food, and was priced reasonably. Ingredients all fresh my favorite was Mt. Fuji. Only downside is service can be slow but the team helps them get orders in when it gets too hectic. Will be back thank you read more
