You know how there's that saying where 3.5 stars is the sweet spot for Asian restaurants? Well I personally believe 3 - 3.5 stars is the sweet spot for Asian buffets, where you just have to come in and try it yourself. Asian buffet connoisseur here. I have to say, don't judge a book by its cover. Because for example, went to a 4.2 star Asian buffet in the city of Santa Rosa. Location matters people! Have to consider the community ethnic background of who's likely leaving the reviews. It so happens that the people reviewing Super Buffet, don't know what super means. It was one of the worst buffets we went to and will never come back. Lone Tree, it's 3 stars average because it's a mixture of good and bad reviews. Have to consider everything right? For us it's a 5 star establishment. Been going here for over 15 years since it was Golden Dragon Buffet. The space, there's so much space and tables you're not waiting for more than 15 min for a table for 4. The price, even as of this review, $17.99 for lunch Monday to Saturday, $22.99 for dinner Monday to Thursday, and $23.99 for dinner Friday to Sunday. They could easily make dinner for Friday to Sunday $27.99 and people would still come here. I would still come here (but please don't raise the price). The food, so much variety of food. The kitchen staff constantly comes out with fresh food refilling the trays of food so you're always getting hot and fresh food. There are so many people here, the food is never just sitting idly and getting dry. You'll see a lot of people get a take out box to go too. $7.99/lb for lunch, $8.99/lb for dinner, $9.99/lb for sushi (ehhh personally not worth it in my opinion, and soup is $9.59 for a quart. TVs, I feel like this isn't really talked about much. There's a TV in each section playing sports or a movie, like it's November 15 and they're playing Elf on the TV, it's not on just some random channel. Or they'll have on sports or a basketball game. Restrooms are always maintained and fairly clean with soap dispensers full or near full, meaning the staff also have access to a clean restroom to wash their hands. Back to the food, along with variety, there's flavor. The food is good! I have no qualms or anything negative about it. So much variety that you can choose what you like and don't like. They even have more American items to help cater to everyone like pizza fries and fried chicken. Sushi is decent, don't expect much but it IS all you can eat and good enough sashimi. The rice to fish ratio is balanced too, it's not 78% rice 22% fish like a lot of places. The shrimp can be inconsistent at times. If it looks darker/sautéed long enough, it's one of the best shrimp dishes you'll taste. If it looks light colored then it tastes just boiled. Another significant thing is the fried bananas and sesame balls. A lot of places don't have one or the other or both. And the flavor of both here is solid. The steamed rice here is really really good if you're a connoisseur of rice and can tell the difference between types of rice and consistency. Dessert section isn't plentiful but it's a lot more than many other places. You have a wide variety of fruit, various pre-baked pastries; and scoop-yourself ice cream. If you're worried about salt, remember this is a buffet. They want their food to taste good. They'd rather over season than under season. You can watch your food intake more at home. But you can still choose options that are more vegetables or protein too. Last thing (sorry this isn't organized thoughts, I'm just yapping about whatever comes to mind). Service. Waiters are on point, always attentive for refills of drinks. They're not stingy on napkins which a lot of places are. You'll see in the pictures I've added, when you're seated they provide a nice stack of napkins for you from the start along with straws for your drinks (which they give you within 2 minutes of being seated). You really just cannot go wrong with this gem of a buffet. It's truly a IYKYK type of buffet in my opinion. Try it out yourself and see what you think. Or don't try it and that's okay too. But I know I'll be back, again and again and again.

The food is good. We always have cravings to come back to eat here. Have been back many times and decided to post this review. One thing is the sesame balls does need to be fried a little longer. Lunch price is $17.99/pp for adults Mondays through Saturdays.

Dirty plates that the server refused to take away from our table.

I'm giving Lone Tree Buffet a 1-star review strictly because of the service from one server. We actually love coming to this restaurant and have always had good experiences with the other servers. The rest of the staff is usually kind, attentive, and welcoming, which is exactly why this situation is so frustrating and disappointing. The woman with blonde hair was the server we had is honestly the worst server we have ever experienced here. She had a terrible attitude the entire time we were there. Our table was stacked with dirty dishes and she never bothered to clear them. We had to sit there surrounded by plates while she walked by multiple times without doing her job. Every time we asked for something simple like a refill, she rolled her eyes and gave us attitude like we were bothering her. She made us feel like we were not even paying customers and like we didn't deserve basic service. It was extremely rude and completely unacceptable. The worst part is that this is not the first time this has happened. Every single time we come here and she is our server, she acts the same way. She always seems irritated, throws dishes down in a rough and angry manner, and makes the entire experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. At one point she was even pointing at us and talking about us, which was incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. No customer should ever be treated like that. Honestly, behavior like this makes us not even want to come back here with our family and friends anymore, which is really sad because we used to enjoy coming here. One employee with this kind of attitude is enough to drive loyal customers away, and she is going to be the reason people stop coming to this restaurant. Management seriously needs to do something about this server. Her behavior is rude, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable for someone working in customer service. If management continues to ignore this kind of behavior, don't be surprised when customers stop coming back.

lone tree buffet is one of the very few buffets towards the Brentwood / Oakley area, as they have a simple, but good variety of foods and dessert on their menu. service is good, with immediate seating and a waiter helping you with your drinks and customer service throughout your time there for a weekend, it was busy, but no wait time, which shows how spacious this place is. food was great: i started with Chinese, with chow mein, shrimps and fish fillets. then, i had a plate of salad, fruits and greens. i also had dumplings, ribs and rangoon. the cream and cheese rangoon were my favorite: i had so many of them. lastly, i had dessert, consisting in coffee ice cream (my fav), chocolate cake and more rangoon. perfect for my cheat day! ambiance was great, busy and cooks did a great with plenty food on time and coming out hot! only downside was them charging me for 'dinner' instead of 'lunch', although i came with time before 3:30, even giving them a call to confirm their exact times. wouldn't be sure to guide with the times, as i really don't know when they start dinner at their location: make sure to ask before you enter. nonetheless, their food and service were great, so it was a mostly positive experience

Plate #1 - corn, peeled shrimp, fried chicken wings, steamed fish, shrimp sautéed with veg, chow mein.

I had to visit a retailer in Brentwood, so I decided to make a day of it. We stopped by Lone Tree Buffet for the first time in a little bit. Arriving at around 11:30, parking in front was easy. We walked in and were greeted and led to a table immediately. Our drink orders were taken, and we headed for the food! We rarely go to buffets anymore. It's just not on our radar, but every now and then, it's a nice treat. The idea shouldn't be to gorge yourself on as much food as you can in order to get your money's worth. Rather, it should be to be able to enjoy numerous flavors without ordering the entire menu. I immediately went to check if they still offered won ton as well as hot and sour soup. Yes! That's a score for me. Life is good. If they had nothing else that I cared for, I could get my fill with that alone. Especially since they had green onions to top it with. We each kept to two plates, so we walked out satisfied but not waddling. Everything that I tried tasted as good as it looked. I stayed away from the fresh fruit, sushi and desserts so I can't comment on them. Service was good. Empty dishes were removed immediately from our table. The food lines were clean and kept pretty full. One of the steam tables was so hot that you could see the water boiling. Okay, why only three stars??? We were seated across from an alcove where the drink station was. No noticeable issues with cleanliness but I did notice what appeared to be large plastic bottles of Apple and Orange Juice sitting on the counter waiting to be served. Those should have either been sitting in a tub of ice or better yet, refrigeration. Food Safety rules dictate that foods be kept under 40-degrees Fahrenheit or over 140-degrees. Guests who ordered juice received them on ice, so they wouldn't know that the juice had been sitting out. That oversight costs them two stars because i would have given five stars for what I ate.

We went on Sunday . It was really busy, which is a good sign. The food was really good. It was definitely fresh. The staff was amazing. They were quick efficient help us clear the plates. I had a really large party and they accommodate us. This was the place that holds a lot of memories. Great place to bring your friends and family. I would like to thank the staff for being so accommodating. Definitely check it out.

Came here for a birthday celebration. They were very accommodating with a large group which was fantastic. The wait wasn't long. Pretty good selection of hot, cold, including sushi and dim sum. Their chicken wings were fantastic. Dishes on the buffet got refilled quickly and all tasted fresh. They serve two choice of ice cream and good dessert selection. Service was excellent and lots of parking in an outskirts mall. Highly recommended. Cheers!

The buffet is okayish, but nothing near fancy nor extreme. My sister invited the family to try thisplace out. We had our share experiences from beijing buffet to Moonstar buffet. What started as having an apetite of interest quickly drew to a concern for a loss of taste. The food was abit off like they all shared within the same distinct section on the stove. THe almond cookies tasted good if not average, the ume buns was good if not sweet. The mango jelly is very tasty and the sushi covered in unagi sauce was splended... The way it arrange in terms of presentation is good just like all the photos you see from various users. This is where the tasting became an issue... Rice tasted off like the way its storage was not well maintained (it felt liek they took it out of the box and cooked it right away..hence why it has this cardboard after tsate) Broccoli tasteD okay but the chicken felt stale and rubbery and difficult to chew off, it is like your liking the geleton off the bone. Chowmein was average but the aftertastes felt like it has too much greese from the left over chicken and brocolli Coconut maroon tasted like it was just delivered from another baker facility and was stored like a few days before being served... Won ton tasted like chicken and garlic so again back to the chicken and brocolli tray.. Lyrlchie tasted from a can with a hint of aluminum Suatee beef tasted like it has aluminum polish so this was a huge red flag Fish tasted like thr display palette has not been cleaned properly which gives you this after taste that the fish was on set at an ice box and forgot to take it out the next day after. I'll get to the point:: This buffet is in the same category as "FAST FOOD GREASY" ALL YOU CAN EAT resturant, no similar to Jack-n-the-box or wendys. I think they reused some of the trays and had to spray wash the dishes to reshuffle the food in order to keep it fresh but the way the taste felt will make you feel ill or bloated. The waitress / hostess are extremely friendly people.. but the seating is very uncomfortable, if luck is on your side, you might be place on the booth, if your unlucky theres a chance you will be placed in a seperate closed off room where it feels more compact then the other side of the room has. The wait time for a seating can range betwen 30 minutes to 45 minutes depending on which day. All in all, if you dont mind the aftertaste then maybe this place would be right for you, but because I visited various location it is far less extravagant then what moonstar buffet had to offer.

Fried wings, steamed fish, shrimp, mushrooms , green beans, chow-mien and tapioca. Great meal.

Lone Tree Buffet Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Lone Tree Buffet

Do they have crabs and crawfish on weekdays dinner?

Do they have shrimp available everyday or just Sundays?

Yes, they serve shrimp all day long

What kind of American food do they have?

In my opinion, 90%,at least, of the food is Asian inspired with some non-Asian finger foods like chicken wings and cheese sticks or similar as well as salads. I hope this helps, I would go to Hometown buffet for American type dishes wherever one is

What days do they serve steamed crabs? i use to go there almost every Sunday for the steamed crabs, but they no longer serve it on Sundays. Are they not serving steamed crabs anymore?

Hi Not really sure but yes I think it was Sunday's. Haven't been on a Sunday in quite awhile. Most of the time I did lunch there if working in the area.

First and foremost, I'd like to give a huge thank you to Jeanette for being such a wonderful host…read moreand treating us like family. She is a key reason as to why we want to keep coming back; her attitude and enthusiasm is fantastic. Me and my family enjoyed our dinner and loved every dish we ordered. Their wonton soup is an excellent choice for a starter and can be shared up to at least 3 people. The wontons are fresh and tasty, the mushrooms are chunky and complement well with the bakchoy. There's even thinly sliced red pork which adds some taste and texture to the soup. We thoroughly enjoyed their spicy Mongolian chow fun. This had some sweetness to it but also some heat which was just right. The beef was super tender! It melts in your mouth. My wife ordered the Sun Kitchen sushi special which was delicious and had big pieces. The quality of sushi here is great! My son enjoyed his bento box which consisted of teriyaki grilled chicken, salad with creamy sesame dressing and then large pieces of vegetable tempura. This is an excellent deal with a good amount of choices to choose from. Jeanette and Tony frequently stopped by to check on us and made sure our meals were good and our drinks were refilled. They are so accommodating and inviting. The music they were playing in the background was on point! They were playing smooth R&B in which me and my wife were dancing. It's spacious inside the restaurant and can hold a good amount of guests. I will say, I wish the temperature was cooler inside; it was a bit warm but didn't really bother us. We can't wait to come back! We love this place!
