I don't know why I haven't left a review for Silver River before because I have been coming here since I was a kid. Mike always takes the time to talk to you and makes you feel welcome every single time. He is always understanding of food substitutions I make, sometimes because I want something different in my combo or even helping me find food my son can eat with his garlic & onion allergy. We always tend to get take out and his portions are always huge, the containers barely close! I love going for his lunch combo specials because the food can last me a full day or two. Another item I've been obsessed with and didn't have a photo of is the egg foo young. His food is always consistent and something I crave when I think of Chinese food. So if you're craving a nice filling lunch or even a family meal deal you should definitely stop by and fill your belly with our local Silver River Chinese food restaurant! We couldn't decide we're to eat for lunch. We've drove past this place numerous times but decided to finally go in. Such a good hidden spot for lunch. We were greeted right away and service was wonderful. We got everything in such a timely manner. We order 4 items off the lunch menu and went home with so much leftovers. Everything was so great and lots of flavor. Our new favorite spot. Come for lunch time and leave full with leftovers. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm torn, I really am. I would like to give a higher rating to local businesses however most of my food just wasn't good. The service was great, however, it did not match the quality of the food. For my main entree, I got House fried rice & mandarin chicken, and I also got a Combination wonton soup on the side. The house fried rice was okay, nothing special, not bad, not great. The mandarin chicken was horrible. Each piece was 90% breading & 10% tough, hard chicken pieces. No crunch to the breading either, just a bouncy mush. The only saving grace was the soup. It was delicious, actually. Probably one of the best won ton soups I have had. It had BBQ pork which added a whole ton of flavor for the whole broth. I may be back, I might not; if I do, I hope their food is better. read more

I haven't eaten here in years. I'd say more than 20 years and what I can remember from back then was it wasn't good. My in-laws are in town and they love this place. They wanted dinner here so I thought to give it another try. It's still not good. We ordered sweet and sour pork, stir fry garlic chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, pork fried rice, chow mein noodles, foil wrapped chicken and a steamed rice. The sweet and sour pork was terrible. It was tiny piece of pork that weren't even lathered in sweet and sour sauce. The pork meat itself wasn't good and had a rancid oil taste. The garlic chicken was weird as it was a clear to white sauce they use. I was hoping for a brown sauce. The chicken looked a little gray and was tough. I didn't eat the fried rices nor the foiled wrapped chicken, but did eat the beef and broccoli. That was probably the only decent thing plus the steamed rice. The decor is old and outdated. The restaurant itself has a smell of old and stale. It needs a major pick me up. The tables were worn and kinda sticky. Service was good and the owner thanked us which was nice, but I definitely won't be going back there. There are better Chinese restaurants elsewhere. read more

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away, but then again, we were the only ones there. The server was attentive and checked on us often. The place has your usual small Chinese restaurant vibe. However 4 out of 6 of us thought the food was salty. Also, the fried foods tasted like the oil used is getting rancid. My sister would take me here while she was attending community college and I was in high school. We would get the chicken fried rice, garlic fried chicken and to change it up sometimes the orange chicken. I loved coming here to eat delicious food and spend time with my older sister. She eventually moved away to go to college in San Jose, but I still kept coming by myself and ordering take away and they would still ask about my sister. The customer service has always been amazing, they know my name, my order and always ask how I am when I pick up my order. We've only been here once, but this will definitely be our new go to spot! We ordered takeout and I love that the fried meat like the orange chicken, and the Szechuan beef came with the sauces on the side. The food was hot and crispy, we added as much or as little sauce as we wanted, and it was delicious even plain! The bbq pork fried rice and the hot and sour soup were also very tasty. Food was good and packaged well for a to go order. Also waitress was doing it all taking dine in, phone and my walk in to go orders, + drinks! She was friendly and efficient. The only thing that threw my husband and I for a loop was literally everything is battered and fried?! Not to say it wasn't good or not prepared correctly, it just seemed odd. We got Honey walnut prawns, chicken chow mein, hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef. Food was pretty good a lot better than Wongs, however it is also almost double the price. I liked the chicken chow mein as the noodles were not too thick and it was LOADED with chicken. Mongolian beef was ok it needs some green onions and more chili peppers it was not spicy at all for me which is what you expect with Mongolian beef just a little more heat and green onions would have made it a lot better. The honey walnut prawns were pretty good however the walnuts weren't honey glazed which is what you would expect out of HONEY walnut prawns. My wife loved the hot and sour soup I thought it was just ok, not bad but for $9 a container it should be loaded with more tofu and shiitake mushrooms. read more

When i first got introduced to Silver River , i gotta say it was pretty darn good. But lately i feel like theres lack of flavor. All i taste in most dishes is SALT. I leave feeling bloated and nasty. Also, i would order the spring rolls and lately they seem as they were store bought//frozen. Used to taste fresh and homemade. I give it 3 stars due to its location & the friendly staff.
