First let me start by saying the food was good for the price. What I mean by that is that it was good food for a lunch special that cost below $9. At some restaurants you might say no wonder why the cost was so low because it's not that great. But this was alright in my opinion. I think we were their first customers for the day. It took about 10mins for the food to come. And when it came it served nice and hot. I noticed They got a lot of to go orders so at least we know the locals like this spot. It was clean but the place could use a renovation or remodel as it looks old. A little paint, some wall decor and new furniture would liven up the place. But a whole in a wall space doesn't scare us from trying food. My number 1 motto is "try anything once" and I will always stick with that. 100% recommend. They have large portions that are reasonably priced. We had the sweet and sour and broccoli beef and fried rice. It was well seasoned, the chicken was soft and tender and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. Definitely come hungry. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the wait. It took a little over 20 minutes for our order (to go) and the restaurant was empty. Other than that, it's a great place. There's plenty of parking but a small interior for seating. 1st and last time eating here...now I know all hole in the wall places are probably crawling with something, but please let it be a secret...I ordered dried fried ribs and salt/pepper prawns. Prices are amazing. Now if you cool with a bug possibly showing up in your food then please definitely try them out. Literally if it wasn't for the bug I definitely would have been back...the dried fried ribs were flavorful(maybe from the bug idk). To my disappointment I was only able to eat 3-4 before my discovery. Shrimp had a lil too much breading for me but also still flavorful. read more

This review is based on a quick visit I made to Canton City last week when I was "desperately" in need of some pork chow mein. This small mom and pop restaurant was open and I was able to place a To Go order. The chow mein was prepared on the spot and presented hot and delicious. The dining area (closed during the Age of COVID) is suitable for lunch but not so much for "date night". I didn't have the chance to try any other dishes, but I'm still think about that pork chow mein. Another amazing experience! I placed a really big order and it only took 15 minutes. The owner was extremely nice and helpful and the restaurant smelled amazing! I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the restaurant is. There isn't much seating but my order was to go so it didn't bother me much. The food tasted super delicious and was very filling. I want to see downtown Antioch survive, as it's really turned into a major ghost town. A waterfront downtown area that looks like a plague has wiped out humanity even at 9pm on a Saturday night. I try to support businesses in the area when I can, especially since I live within 5 minutes walking distance of downtown. My wife and I enjoy Chinese food from time to time, and have a couple favorite spots. Today, we tried something different... and won't be back. The food was very underwhelming, we ended up throwing most of it away. China Won over by the Antioch Mall is a WAY better option, and where my wife and I usually go. I've been going to this restaurant since it opened which is probably over 15 years. I still love this place to this day! Their food has stayed consistently delicious. Their service has always been incredible. I hope this place never goes away. I no longer live in Antioch anymore but I do drive up from concord to get my fix. My mother still orders frequently and when they get her address they already know what she's going to order. Today I ordered my usual, pork fried rice and dried fried pork and it was delicious as always. Thank you Canton City staff for the amazing food and amazing staff! This is a review of the lunch menu item, Sweet and Sour chicken with fried rice and soup. It had a good sized portion of the chicken and sauce with pineapple, bell pepper, onion and carrots. The carrots were super-sized but woody and tough. The fried rice was tasty. I also had the Hot & Sour soup that was way too spicy for my taste but otherwise lots of tofu and noodles, and other veggies. Everything was still hot by the time I arrived home 20 minutes later. Canton City is small and located near the Antioch Marina. I remembered being told that they have a great lunch special and decided to stop by there this afternoon. The lunch special is available from 11 am to 3 pm and for $4.50 and you get a cup of the soup of the day (today's was egg flower soup), fried or steamed rice, and a choice from 17 entrees. Yes, you get all that for only $4.50! They also have all day specials for $5.75. That comes with everything that comes with the lunch special but with the addition of an egg roll and the option of chow mein instead of rice. To top it all off, the food was delicious and the staff were really sweet and kept asking if I wanted to sit down while I waited. (Just for the record, my boots look much more uncomfortable than they actually are.) The soup was light in flavor but chock full of egg, carrots, and peas. Yum! The rice is typical white rice and was a lovely platform for the chicken and veggies. I didn't expect as many fresh vegetables as my 'chicken with fresh vegetables' entree included. There was zucchini, carrots, and broccoli. Water chestnuts, celery, and bamboo added a nice, tasty crunch. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and for less than $5 I feel like I got an amazing deal. For years have ordered take out. But this last time I chose to eat inside this establishment. Sorry to say I was horrified. The floors obviously needed sweep & moping. I only tried it once but i somehow got very sick and got extremely bad migraines after eating the dry fried ribs because they were very heavy in seasoning so we had to discard the food but i don't blame them for i have issues with heavily seasoned food in general. Dishing out one star reviews is a little hard for me but this is like some real life disappointment. They've lost me as a customer, forever. I got chow funn it was so over cooked. I got sweet and sour prawns and they literally just pored sweet and sour sauce onto the fried shrimp. THAT MAKES THEM SOGGY. They're not seasoned or anything just a sweet waste of my money. Yea they offer free egg rolls and soda with a certain minimum so that's great but the food is boo boo. I stick to only regular stuff when I go here just chicken wings and fried rice. This time around I let my parter down big time and have to painfully relive the experience as I type. My gf said this place must have prepped the food to serve over the weekend and we must've got the tail end of it since we ordered on a Sunday night. I used to like this place, because they deliver and the food was decent. Recently we decided to pick up some chinese on the way home, so we stopped in here. We grabbed a menu and sat down at a table, which wasnt very clean but we overlooked it, to go over it and make our decision, we were not even greeted by the employee standing behind the counter talking on the phone. A few minutes into looking over the menu we noticed something crawling across the table. Upon closer inspection, we realized it was a BABY COCKROACH. If there is 1 baby, there are more! Probably hundreds, we were so disgusted that we just left, and the man talking on the phone never said a thing. Please beware! I don't even want to consider how many baby cockroaches i may have eaten in the food that i couldnt see all the times we ordered delivery :( read more

Other than that, the food is a solid 4, prices are cheap, and portions are bountiful. For your run of the mill neighborhood take out place, it's just fine. I have never eaten in the facility and have ordered thier delivery before and the time frame for delivery is very prompt. I recommend thier teriyaki chicken and chow fun. I have been going to this place for over 10 years and it's even better than before! The sauces and spices are authentic with no MSG. We have ordered Chinese food from several places, and no-one does the Moo Shoo like Canton City. You can taste the cinnamon (?), and other spices, yet not overpowering. We also ordered Prawn and Veggies, potstickers, and steamed veggies. The portions were huge and the price was beyond reasonable. The delivery fee is small and well worth it. read more
