I gave 5 stars to Saigon towing who went the extra mile in towing my SUV from a basement parking area. Young (owner) went out of his way to do a pre-inspection of area so he could get an idea of height, etc. so his tow truck could fit. He had to use his phone to video instructions on how to override the frozen gear & get to neutral so both of us could push the SUV close to his truck to hook up. I appreciated his willingness to figure out how to do all that while another towing co. I called b4 could not, so just left after trying & not being successfu. I don't know where to begin with all the positive things I have to say about Dung Nyugen of Saigon Towing. I will start with saying he's a genuine and humble man. Very hard to find nowdays. In the short time we had together, our conversation while towing my father in law's vehicle was priceless. He's a family man with a good heart. As for towing, where others declined to help once I mentioned parking garage, Dung without hesitation, said yes he could help. We scheduled a time and he showed up promptly. We pushed the vehicle 3 floors and he hooked up at the exit gate in a few minutes. Pulled the vehicle out of traffic and harms way, re-secured it, and got it to my father in law's home in no time. I've had my car towed maybe twice in my life. Once on purpose (after my stolen car was recovered) and once due to being parked in a lot after-hours. Today, I experienced my third tow. In an effort to get my mom's car to the shop, my father and I headed off for what was supposed to be a pretty chill 1 mile drive. The car, however, had other plans when reaching the end of the street on our way to the main road. The car shut off and driving without power steering was much harder than I remember. After pushing the car into a street parking stall to the point I wanted to throw up, I called about 3 other "nearby" tow shops before calling Saigon. A man answered and I filled him in on the details of our location and where we wanted it towed. Then I asked for time he'd have someone available (45 minutes) and how much it'd cost ($65). About 50 minutes later, he arrived generally on time. He was super chill. Was going to hook up the car and told us to meet him at the shop. Turns out, the shop he thought we were going to was not the actual shop we were headed to. So about a couple blocks down I saw him take a wrong turn and I basically pulled some epic car chasing scene while making a phone call back to what I thought was his office (but was direct to cell). He was able to turn the truck around and head to the right shop. While I do think we may have overpaid, I'm also not sure if the cost was just the minimum tow rate. Regardless, we paid $65 for the mile. Cash only. Other than the wrong turn, I thought he had good communication and decent timing. Better than one of the other tow companies I used that kept me out, waiting in the dark, alone for 2x longer than they quoted. I dig it. Recommended. read more

I have now used Saigon Towing twice and both times zero complaints from me! This last time Yong told me that I didn't even need to be at the place where my disabled car was at, he would pick it up himself and meet me at the dealer where I needed to get it repaired. He was early for pick up and delivery and saved me a ton of time and money in the process. Unlike most towing professionals, Yong is very approachable, pleasant, well dressed - you don't feel intimidated, greasy, or in need of air fresheners when working with him. Tip: Be patient, English is NOT Yong's first language, politeness is. At least you don't have to be fluent in pidgin to communicate effectively. The key and this is critical, after making the initial call to confirm the tow, to follow up with a TEXT message with the make, model, color and license plate of your car, as well as the specific address and time for the pick up and delivery. When using text messaging, Yong is VERY responsive and follows up well. I was getting heads up on early arrival time, ETA for delivery, when he actually arrived - all in real time via text messaging. I was so impressed that I gave him a nice tip and so should you IF you receive excellent service, especially considering the lower rates he charges than most. read more

Used them today. Called them earlier this morn to tow my car in Kalihi @ 10:30 am. When I reached Kalihi @ 10:15 am I called them that I was there. 10:43 am & 11:12 am I called because the tow truck still was MIA. Owner said tow truck was coming. 11:17 am called again cause still MIA but now no answer & went to voice mail. I was in the process of using another tow company when tow truck finally showed up at 11:20 am. I was referred to this tow company by my car insurance agency. Afterwards, I made a complaint to my insurance company as this was unacceptable customer service. I didn't even receive a courtesy apology from the owner so he deserves this morbid review. I gave this a 1 star review because his tow truck finally showed up after 4 phone calls & a 1 hr delay even with advance notice. Price is cheap but again when you pay cheap you get cheap. read more

I was referred here by the repair shop i currently go to. I called yesterday and gave the man my information. He however was booked for the day but i did however call late in the day so i didn't mind. He gave me a really good quote and told me to call the following morning to schedule a towing. This being the following day, i called in the morning just as instructed. Might i add, they answered right away every time on the first one or two rings. He said he'll pick it up the next hour. When he arrived, he called me and i came outside with money and my key as he's towing it to my mechanic. I was happy to see what a honest man this was. My cars clutch went out and I just needed a tow from my house to a place 3 mins from my house. And they are not too far my house either. They're like 10 minutes from my house tops. For 1 they were gonna charge me $140 and I thought that was slightly unreasonable, compared to what other people have been charged. They had also told me that they would be at my house in a 45 minute time frame. So I got a call saying they were there shortly after I had called, but I wasn't home yet. Then I call again letting them know I would be there in a few and then they tell me that no one was there. And that they had someone heading down but he said he was just gonna turn around. I called them twice, first time was last mon out by North Shore, the guy on the phone was rude, and asking all kinda stupid questions, and finally he said was too far from town, unbelievable. Second time, which is today, just called them again, was rude as last time, this time my mom's little car couldn't start, and is parked inside of parking structure, and they said is too diffcult to tow, I explained to them i have seen cars been towed out from the same parking structure, simply they just don't want your business or just some easy jobs.
