If you're going to drive a company vehicle, you really need to act responsibly on the road. This morning (around 6:50-7:10AM) on the H-1, a yellow tow truck, JRock Tows It, was driving aggressively, speeding, cutting people off, and even creating their own lanes off the shoulder that was not a shoulder lane just to get in front of other vehicles. This person then proceed to turn on their flashing lights as if that behavior is justified? It's not!!! Driving like that doesn't make you "special", it puts everyone else at risk and increases the chance of an accident. If you're in a rush, leave earlier instead of bullying other drivers on the road. If this is how you drive, it seriously hurts trust in your business. I wouldn't feel comfortable using a company that operates this way. Please do better! read more

Tonight I had the unfortunate luck of getting a flat tire on the H-3 (Tesla Tires suck and so does the DOT for thinking steal plates should be a long term solution to road defects.). By the time I could safely pull over, I had 0 psi and had to pull over right outside the Hirano tunnel. While I was sitting on the side of the road, trying to find a tower who had a flat bed, Jrock Tows It pulled up with a flat bed! The nicest tow truck driver I have ever encountered got out of the truck and walked over to my car. He asked me if I had called for a tow due to a flat tire. I hadn't. The driver was on his way to tow a car about a mile down the road, with the exact same description as mine for the same reason. (Did I mention Tesla and the DOT suck?) The driver explained that he needed to complete the call he was on, but he could come back as soon as he was done. if I wanted, he would take my number and have his boss call me to get my destination and give me a quote. I had called 4 towers before he stopped. None of them had a flat bed on the road, despite advertising they offered this service. So of course i immediately said that I would and have him my number. Within about 3 minutes, I received a call from James, who was just as friendly. He said not to worry, they would be happy to help me. I sent him my destination and I received a prompt quote via text and explained the charges. The quote was surprisingly very fair and reasonable, especially considering the distance i needed to go on a flat bed. I've dealt with a lot of towers on island and have seen some ridiculously high tow bills. When I say this was fair, I am not kidding! It took about an hour for the driver to come back, which was not a long time at all, Considering he had to get to the other call, load it, drop it off in town and come back up the H3. When the driver returned, he took great care while driving my car up the ramp, onto the flat bed, making sure not to scrape the bottom of the front apron. When he arrived at my destination, he was equally as careful. And i don't think this man stopped smiling the whole time he was working. This is a first class operation. James and his team are the definition of exemplary service and value, which seems to be a unicorn in the towing marketplace. I cannot recommend this tow company enough. I feel compelled to leave this review following the experience my wife and I had with Jrock. Following a debacle with a lost key card for a rented Tesla, Avis sent for a tow truck. Jrock was the only one available at this time of night (21:00), and the response time of about an hour was to be expected. Jrock showed up and promptly prepared the vehicle for towing, and notified us that he would take us in to town so we could Uber back to our hotel, as apparently the vehicle was being towed to their storage facility, not back to Avis, as we had anticipated. If that had been the end of the experience, this would be an easy 5 star review. On the drive into town, the driver made several statements about Hawaiian natives and their rights to the land that my wife and I found quite offensive and racist in nature. When we finally did return to our hotel, my wife put together a 1-star review on Google and outlined our issues with the driver's comments. The following morning, the owner/driver called us, demanding we take down the negative review. He claimed that none of that happened, that there was audio and video recordings of the interaction, and that we needed "serious help". When my wife attempted to discuss this with him, he swore at her, and proceeded to hang up while my wife was talking. As someone who routinely fields complaints about business staff, I found the demeanor and disregard of our concerns highly disrespectful. Regardless of personal beliefs on whether the statements made were racist or not, it was offensive to us, the customer, and a failure to recognize that or apologize in any way, shape, or form was demonstrative of ineptitude in managing a business and poor customer service of the most fundamental nature. I believe, as my wife's review is not active, that Jrock is fighting to erase it from this platform, and will likely attempt the same with my own. It is for this reason that I submit this 1-star review for your consideration. The quality of the tow met expectation, the blatant disregard and disrespect for the customer is deplorable. Towing incident of Tuesday 7/30/24 ~ Detailed experience with "J. Rock Tow IT", the towing company via number (808) 292-0294, recommended by State Farm. J Rock Tow IT, the towing company, definitely did not meet my expectations. -Initiated service request with State Farm on Tuesday afternoon at 1706 HST to pick up my car in Makiki and to tow it to my Honda dealership in Kaneohe. -At 1720, received "Delay" message. -At 1755, received "ETA" message to be "120-150 minutes". -At 1928, received another text stating "ETA" message of "45 minutes". -At 1956, received text that "Driver en route". -At 2023, text read "ETA" to be "25 minutes". -At 2120, driver called me that they were at my address. I told him, "How can that be? I'm here at my residence in my parking lot by my car, still waiting". Evidently, he had the wrong address and was three minutes away. So, I had to repeat my address once again. I had done this on three other occasions earlier, just to make sure. -Finally, at 2125 hours, the tow company finally arrived. Please note, that at 1755, the driver called me that he was finishing a job just then, in Wahiawa, and that I would be the next one on his schedule. When he finally arrived at my home, the driver said that he was flooded with other tow assist calls. That was his excuse as to why he was late. It's contrary to what he had mentioned earlier at 1755. Evidently, he had taken other assist calls while on his way to my home. Such "Poor Service". In summation, J. Rock Tow IT, the towing company, is very unreliable and undependable. They should not be on State Farm's list of tow companies!' Absolutely "0" stars. Don't recommend this company for towing services. Your waiting will be several hours. In my case, it took more than four long hours. Auwe! "Please Note": the business owner, James J, just countered with my YELP review, mentioning that they're all about customer service. After a day spent fruitlessly waiting for assignment to a tow company by my insurance company, after 8 hours, the insurance company on my fourth call told me I could hire a tow company by myself and I would be reimbursed for any trip less than ten miles from pickup to drop off. Since drop off for me was only and 8 minute drive, distance was not an issue! Jrocks responded immediately to my phone call and within less than a half hour the car was towed from where it broke down and placed in a legal parking space on the street until my mechanic can look at it.
