I've been to Neue Auto a few times now and honestly wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Alvin and…read moreCodi are both so amazing, just very helpful and professional. They're usually able to take me in pretty soon too which is great. On my most recent visit, I went in thinking I needed specific work done, but Codi realized it was a totally different issue. He fixed it right then and there, so I didn't even need the major work I thought I did! As a woman in my early 20s, I'm always prepared to be sold on things I don't need, but that never happens here. They're so good at explaining what happened and I've never felt ripped off. The reception area is nice with AC, water, and a TV, plus a huge perk is that they pay for your one way ride share from the shop after you drop your car off.

I'd like to start off by mentioning the great things I experienced. The team working on my truck…read morewas extremely knowledgeable and patient throughout the process. My partner received pictures and updates along the way, and I truly appreciated the communication, especially since they had my truck overnight. One challenge was how narrow the entrance is when pulling in, but thankfully that wasn't too much of an issue during drop-off. My experience ended up being 4 stars because I paid $704 for diagnostics and a transmission fluid service, only to be told that the transmission issues would likely continue over time. The recommendation given was that replacing the vehicle might be a better option if we didn't want to continue investing money into the truck. Afterward, I reached back out to ask for a quote on either rebuilding or replacing the transmission so I could better understand my options. Unfortunately, I've waited quite a while without receiving a response. At this point, even after spending the money on the diagnostics and service, the truck is still undrivable and sitting in a parking lot while I continue paying for a rental car. I completely understand that transmission work can be complicated, and I am grateful they were able to inspect my truck since I don't know much about transmissions myself. When I first brought the truck in, I also mentioned an issue with my taillight. I was initially told it would be added to the diagnostics at the end, but it was never looked at. I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $185 just to diagnose the taillight issue. At that point, I decided to simply pick up the truck. The communication was excellent from start to finish while the vehicle was actively being worked on, but as a returning customer, I do feel disappointed that I haven't received any follow-up regarding the transmission quote. I'm hoping someone from the team can reach back out soon so I can better understand what my next steps and costs may be.

Well... here's the follow-up review (I initially rated 5 stars on Google for the test drive and…read morenegotiation process) nobody wants to have to write. The paperwork/payment/ownership transfer portion took much longer than expected. I understand they were likely busy, so I tried to be patient. Hospitality-wise? Probably a 6/10. Not terrible, but once the purchase decision was made, things felt much more transactional. No beverages offered, no check-ins during the long wait -- not a huge deal, but small things matter when you're sitting there signing your financial future away. The paperwork itself was standard. No major complaints there. However, after everything was finalized and we were ready to drive off in our "new-to-us" certified preowned vehicle, we noticed a sizable dent in the driver-side C-pillar. In hindsight, I should have brought it up immediately, but at that point I felt like I had no leverage since everything was already signed and paid for. That part is on us for not catching it sooner. Still, after doing some research and speaking with people currently in the auto industry, certified preowned vehicles generally should not have cosmetic damage larger than about a quarter without disclosure or repair. I texted my salesperson the next day and didn't hear back (got a text 7 days later citing he was texting the wrong person). I eventually contacted management. Craig listened to my concerns, seemed genuine, and asked for photos of the damage. He mentioned an option to repair the dent and said he would follow up the next day. Unfortunately, I never heard back despite a follow-up email. Meanwhile, I was receiving automated texts asking me to leave a review, which honestly felt a little ironic. I replied to the text asking to be contacted via email but still have not heard anything to this date Then came another issue: the AC stopped working within the first week of ownership. I reported it immediately and was told to contact service. Fair enough -- but I live pretty far away, so being told to leave the car there all day meant missing work, rearranging schedules, and figuring out kid pickup logistics. Spending tens of thousands of dollars in cash only to immediately deal with these kinds of issues is frustrating. The AC issue has since been addressed, but while troubleshooting it, my husband discovered the cabin air filter was filthy and found a wad of napkins behind the glove box. Neither inspired confidence that the vehicle had truly been thoroughly inspected before earning certified preowned status. What made it more concerning was that the service advisor initially stated the cabin filter had already been replaced and documented in the system, only to later admit it had not been replaced and would be changed while repairing the blower motor causing the AC issue. That's really the core of my frustration. If obvious things like this were missed or inaccurately communicated, how am I supposed to feel confident everything else in the certified inspection was actually completed? At this point, I'm not expecting perfection. Cars have issues. But communication, accountability, and follow-through after the sale matter just as much as customer service before the sale. Right now, I'm still waiting for a resolution regarding the dent issue and hoping Honda Windward steps up to make this right.

I did end up buying a 2018 Hyundai Elantra w/13k miles on it.. they had actually just got the car & were still in process of fixing a few things. Because I bought the car over a holiday weekend, they were not able to get it into the shop for a few days so they allowed me to take the car home until the shop was open and at that time they gave me a nice reliable motor car while my car was worked on.. they fixed everything. Once I hit my car back I realized it was pulling to the left & seemed like the alignment needed to be done.. with no hesitation they arranged a time for me to drop off the vehicle and get a loaner car so that they could fix the issue.. figured out something in the alignment was bent so they fixed it & in the meantime I gave birth.. this shop is located in Honolulu & I live deep in the west side. My husband is military and works 24/7 therefore I am full-time mom and with a newborn it was stressful thinking about how I was going to get to Honolulu to pick up my car.. no worries.. they sent a driver out to switch cars right at my house. I can not recommend this shop enough.. they are reasonable, reliable & affordable. They are up front & honest. I had a great experience & highly recommend Today Auto!!

My friend took it to another mechanic who agreed with the first one. I took it back to Subaru and they refused to fix the problem. I gave my friend back some money to have it fixed.
