Got a call that it was done and ready for pick up by thursday evening. Other shops quoted $600+ just to resurface. At headhunters got it completely rebuilt with a whole gasket set and it looks like new for the low quoted price of $500. Which included decking. 16 new valves. Adjustments. Mark, Bryan and the team at Snyder's all do excellent work and as far as i'm concerned they are my go-to place in hawaii whenever i need something done. Of course because there is no track, the business i give to them nowadays is very minimal if any, and i apologize for that, however they were the place where everyone used to (and still do) take their race parts to get work done, I own several other motors and had several other cars I owned that just so happened to come with motors that were built by them, so needless to say, probably three quarters of the hotrod cars that i've ever owned, had Snyder's Machine Works motors in them. If you need performance work, rebuild a head, or even a stock motor, this is the place to go. Yes, I see people saying their prices are a little high, however to me, quality machine work is one of those things where you pay for it one time, because you can get away with cheap, but then you going are going to eat it on the backend when the motor has to come back out of the car. I was on my way back to return the car when my phone died and thus my only source of navigation. I had no phone charger in the car. The car was due back at the rental shop in 10 minutes and I had no idea how to get there. I saw someone outside of Ted's and so I pulled in and asked them if they could help me. It was 5pm and I'm sure they were all finishing up their day and wanting to go home, but two of the guys stopped what they were doing and came out to talk to me when I asked for help. They went out of their way to search their personal cars for a charger and offered to let me use their phone in the meantime. Because of their kindness to a stranger, I made it back to return my car rental within 5 minutes of the deadline. I will definitely be calling this place next time I have engine care needs.
