Signs at the entrance before you turn right and go up a ramp

What do you do with a broken microwave? I asked some guys at church. They told me to go to Best Buy... Nope... Best Buy won't take any appliance associated with food. They told me to go to Home Depot... Nope... Home Depot won't take a broken microwave. They told me to go to "Sand Island". I did a search and asked if she meant Keehi Teansfer Station. Yes! Using GPS, I followed the signs until I reached "the dump". Whew! It was fragrant! I had to roll my car windows down for a few minutes after I left to let some fresh air through the car! The first sign says to "wait here" at the arrow. And attendant called me forward and told me "number 5". I backed in - like the other vehicles. I looked at the guy next to me to see how he threw his items over the railing. I think he was done. Shucks. A younger guy parked next to me and I asked him if I just toss it over... Yep! Ok... Bye bye, my longtime friend! That microwave was with me for several decades, I think!

If you need to get rid of bulk items, this is the place to go. It's on Middle St. across from the bus depot. There was a little line. We waited for about 10 minutes. Everyone just waits in line in their car. When you get up to the entrance the attendant will ask what you're dumping. Then, he'll tell you what stall to park in. After you park you just dump your junk in this huge landfill. Then, you just exit from the opposite side. We were in and out of there in seconds. I only had to dump a mattress.

Back your car up to the metal fence to toss your items over into the 'pit'!

Not the sexiest type of business, but certainly useful, efficient, and practical! The guys here are friendly-they help make the 'medicine go down' if you have the need to dispose of items outside of the standard gray bin or the bulky-item pick-up! Drive up to the end of the line (weekdays are best for NO line), wait for the wave to drive onto the scale then to your assigned spot. There are 2 separate areas for trash vs. metal. If you have both, it's best if you bring a passenger to split up and dispose of the respective items. There is even an area where you can set aside useful items to reuse and repurpose, e.g...wheelchairs, jalousies, bikes. The site is conveniently open until 6pm!

We were going into town so went here instead of our usual one in Waimanalo. You just drive up, tell the guy what kind of waste you want to dump, and they tell you what stall to park in. According to the county website, this transfer station takes household trash, "combustible bulky items," metal items and lead acid batteries. No large metal appliances or tires. It's pretty stinky inside but not like you're gonna die. Very convenient for when you forget to take out the trash bin on pickup day.

Convenient disposal center located closest to Downtown. We had some bulky items to dump since City & County only does bulk pick up for residential and not for businesses. Wasn't hard to find and I realized that I pass it almost daily. Once you drive under the bridge, keep following the road and then on your right will be a hill you drive up and stay on the right lane. The guys will signal you to come forward and he'll tell you which lane to park in. The stalls were all spacious. I was next to one of those bulky trucks and still had plenty of room to maneuver out. One way in and out. Careful for the guy beeping his horn down below. He is operating the vehicle that pushes the rubbish back. Warning: This place is pilau, it reeks. Toss your stuff and get out ASAP. If there's a line, it should go by fairly fast. I wouldn't want to stay in there any longer..

At left is an egret, one of many birds in the transfer station earlier in the week. At right is a dump truck backing up to the railing.

Everything is as usual there. The ONLY thing that is irritating, is the guard at the bottom. Doesn't clearly give directions.

Been looking for a replacement OEM chrome front bumper for my 2017 Ram 2500 for a while now…read more. online pricing was decent but shipping was like 70% more than the asking price.. crazy!! Was about to settle with a dent in my bumper and just say frick it.. but then I came across "Mascot auto parts" on FB marketplace. At first i was little sketchy because their profile wasn't really comforting.. 17 friends.. minimal followers.. ahh .. I'll give it a shot. I messaged them.. after chatting and doing some parts research, they found my front bumper in stock and what made me feel more relieved.. this wasn't a junk yard or someone selling a used part.. they actually have a shop!! When I got there, everything was legit.. kinda reminded me of a shop where auto body and fender shops come to purchase parts from. A warehouse full of bumpers and grills.. all bubble wrapped and boxed. Went inside the office, paid for my bumper, they had me witness the unboxing for any defects and then re-wrapped my bumper back up. Done deal!!! 9:30am we started chatting on messenger.. by 11am I was driving away with a brand new chrome bumper.. Side NOTE: this is Napa or auto zone..don't expect that from them. Go to Napa and auto zone for those items. Some of the things they deal with: Front Bumpers Rear Bumpers Hoods Fenders Auto Lamps: Head Lamp, Tail Lamp, Signal Lamp, Fog Lamp Radiators A/C Condenser Mirrors Tail gates Grilles Radiator supports Bumper Reinforcements Rear Step Bumpers

I messaged the guy on FB and he replied with a cell number. I text'd the number and got a price for the part and an address of the yard. I called to confirm availability and the female who answered the phone sent me pictures by text message. I let them know I would be coming that afternoon, and when I got there, the part was already removed from the car. The yard looked pretty big with a lot of cars. Overall very good experience with this place. The woman I spoke to on the phone and the other ladies in the "office" trailer were very nice and friendly. Using a junk yard can be a hit or miss experience. You can call them to ask if they have what you are looking for. Keep in mind, used parts come in a wide array of conditions, so make sure you inspect the part before buying/paying.

I was messaging someone online and I guess he was the owner, but he said he had what I was looking for and quoted me $175. So I decided to go down and get it. Moment I got there I was greeted by a girl, and she showed me what was looking for. I examined the part and it was ok, so I was set on getting it. I asked her what the price was and she said $450!!! I mentioned I spoke to someone and they said a different price, and she persisted that they don't sell any door for $175. So I left. Messaged the owner and long story short they said I could buy the door for $175, and that was after I had left and went elsewhere for the part from another used parts store. I drove all the way from Honolulu just to get the part and they wasted my time. Don't ever go here.

I'm writing this review because if it ever happens to you, you need to know their real address and phone number. They're at 1038 Kapahulu. The only phone number that works was 808-593-1993. It took me an hour of intense internet research to find it. That number is listed for Tow Jam, another trade name for VIP Towing. They are open 24 hours. They charged us $140. We called him and explained why we needed a bed like that, and emphasized that we particularly needed the high-low function. We asked if everything was working properly. His answer was "yes, everything is working properly, I checked it". So we rented a trailer for $50 and went over there to buy the bed for $500. When we got home it turned out the high-low function of the bed did not work, so we called him immediately. At first he said he was willing to pay the bill for the repair. So we looked for the cheapest way to fix it. We spent many, many hours on the phone with technicians and searching the internet. It would cost around $ 300,- so we called him to tell him that. Then he wasn't so kind anymore and told us he had never said he would pay for the repair and that we had to pay for it ourselves. We said that he had said that everything worked properly, and that this was not true, so we asked if we could return the bed and if we could get reimbursed. His answer was 'no way'. When we repeated that he had said all functions of the bed were working properly, his only response was that we should take him to court and sew him, after which he hung up on us.
