Out with the old, in with the new! As we come to the end of 2021 on a stormy and wet day, we decided to take the time to binge-watch a couple of shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime when suddenly our television went on the fritz. Sheesh! What lousy timing since we were prepared to settle in with our television watching snacks and decided to take a day off from exercise. We could've just stayed in to watch the shows on our other televisions, but my husband decided to treat us to a late Christmas gift by getting a new and larger model for our living room. We shopped, managed to find a replacement, and brought it home to install. However, we were left with a non-functioning television screen and wanted to dispose of it properly. We would've taken it down to the e-recycler in Kalihi that we've taken other outdated electronics to in the past but, they were closed for the day, so we called RRR Recycling. It was around noon when my husband called and left an inquiry whether or not they'd take e-waste. Within a few minutes, Nick returned the call and confirmed that he had a separate e-waste bin on-site and there was no charge for processing. Thanks to Nick's quick reply, we hopped back into our vehicle with the old television monitor, stand, and cables to bring to RRR Recycling. When we arrived, several cars were parked in the available stalls, and we saw Nick taking in the customers' recyclables. We waited in line, and Nick showed us to the large shipping container marked T & N Computer Recycling Services on the far right side of the property. The container wasn't too packed, but my husband and I carried our old television and accessories into the back of the container. Easy-peasy process and we felt good about the proper disposal of our old television. We'd gladly return to RRR Recycling when we accumulate more recyclable items or e-waste.

Usually the line isn't bad if you go later in the day. I like that the electronic recycling is in the same location.

Great work ethic by the employees... they push hard throughout the day and stay with it right up to a few minutes before closing

This is a convenient recycling center in town. Big lot to park in. Can't go wrong! They also have some electronics recycling there too

Recycling in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I've never been to this Redemption Center before, so Irene helped me find it. GPS took me to the side where there's no driveway. We had to go around the block to get to the entrance on Beretania Street. The driveway doesn't really have a sign. The lot is surrounded by a tall chain link fence. The worker was so kind and conversational. He apologized for not being able to pay me for the used glass from religious candles. He suggested that I take them to some industrial area. Well... if he wants to give away the decorative glass containers, he can. Maybe someone wants to use them as vases or pencil holders? Thanks for being so nice!

I don't want to give a recycling center one star since I'm such a believer in recycling and reusing things, but this was a really scary experience! A homeless man was following me around and then an Asian lady who had no front teeth tried to assault me. There seem to be a lack of green buckets, which is where you have to separate your recycling materials. The people there were hoarding all the green buckets. Literally, the lady who tried to assault me had five or six buckets and then cursed at me as I walked by. I didn't feel safe here. Sad because I've been here several times over the past years. I won't come back.

Recycling in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Is it worth the drive to Sand Island Access Road? I think so... My friend, Irene M., told me about: C M Recycling. She said she got top dollar for her recyclables. I went to test it out... The drop off driveway was blocked off with 2 vehicles. It's not a looped traffic pattern. So, I went to the next driveway and was told it's the area for scrap metal. That's ok... I can walk over with my bags of plastic bottles... I gave my bags to one guy who emptied my bottles into a large, square, plastic netted container on a scale. He signaled the weight to the cashier who had me complete a form and gave me the cash. I was guessing that I would get around $5. However, I got over $7 Yay! I'll be back! Thanks for the tip, Irene!

Knowing made it easy…read more.. After a few rounds of taking in recyclables understanding the process does take time but is totally worth it in the long run as C M Recycling is now gonna be my go to place to have it all processed as it was the easiest as along we follow all the rules. Rules are standard regardless of where you take them have it all sorted out and cleaned no caps and gosh it does make it so easy especially at locations like this where there isn't room for parking as there's just two stalls as this biz sits right on Sand Island Access Rd. so if there already a couple of cars there just wait on the side which many do until they're done and allow them to reverse out so that you can drive forward in. Once there the staff takes your items and load them into a huge basket and is being weighed and just fill out and sign the form and that's it super simple and easy and honestly I think it get much more in return here than an any other places that I've been to and I don't need to touch any yucky stinky trash bins. Hours are 8-4:30 and closed on Sundays but so fast and easy and totally recommended. Thank you!
