I'm sure glad I found this place when I needed to dispose of some e-waste. It was fairly easy to find just off of Nimitz Hwy and they have a huge parking area. Once you park, they have some large bins you can roll out to your car to unload your e-waste. Roll it inside and drop it off. Easy as that. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We had a lot of electronics stacking up, and the better half wanted it out of the house. We dislike throwing good working items away only to pile up in the landfill. She heard about this place and asked me to call them. I spoke to a gentleman and said what I have, and he said yes, they will take it. They would take it and take it for free. Don't use the map on Yelp as it will take you to the street before this place. If you do, go around the corner ewa side, and it will be on the right side. I pulled up, and a gentleman came to my vehicle and helped me take everything out. He told me they test things out to see if they work. If not, they try to fix or salvage what they can and recycle the rest. For the computers they can do a wipe of your hard drives for you so your personal information isn't out there. It makes .e feel good about getting rid of our electronics. read more

Old computers sitting at home taking up space, collecting dust, and don't wanna throw it out because "secrets" might be stolen or revealed on the hard drives in the computer? That was me. Not much secret, but definitely collecting dusts! Jason at E-Opala made things easy. I brought the old heavy dusty labtop in, he charged me only $10 dollars for take out the hard drive and destroy it in front of me in his huge "grander" machine. He has an amazing large computer recycling place that recycle as little as a personal computer like mine, to huge amounts of corporations and banks' computers. We need places like Jason's to recycle and keep the earth clean. read more

We recently upgraded our 2-year old laptops and a Surface Pro 6 to tablets as well as consolidated our document scanner and laser printer to a multi-function machine when we installed our new flooring. Interesting thing is that when we asked our nieces if they'd be interested in any of our older equipment they refused. Yes, we know how quickly hardware becomes outdated but, these were still in great working order and were at the time of purchase, top-of-the line products. We asked our niece who has 5 children if her children or she could use the laptops and/or tablet for work or play. Tsk, it suddenly became clear to us how we Americans want the latest and greatest so that's when we decided to look into having the equipment recycled or at least processed to someone who was in "need". I checked Yelp for e-recycling and came across this company and read its Mission Statement and how its founder, Jason Gruver, has dedicated his business to recycling based upon his hippie commune upbringing. So, we set off to drop off our "obsolete" electronics after reading about what Jason's company would accept. As we were on the way to E-Opala's drop-off site, I received a call from our niece who just changed her mind about our offer to give her the laptops and the Surface Pro 6 tablet. Meanwhile, my husband continued driving directly to E-Opala's drop-off site located in Kalihi anyway. When we approached the drop-off site, Jason was outside with another worker clearing his warehouse. He greeted us with a wave and smile. We let him know what we had left to recycle which, after reading his FAQ sheet, he doesn't accept. But, to our surprise, he recommended a non-profit organization (Goodwill Industries) which has multiple drop-off donation sites who would take the printer and document scanner. Long story short, we will keep E-Opala Computer Recycling Center in mind for future e-waste recycling and hope you'll do, too. read more

Have dropped off servers, storage devices, UPSs, UPS batteries, and pcs/laptops for disposal/recycling here. Drop off only (with no special wiping/destruction/inventory of drives) was free. If pickup is needed, e-Opala charges a very reasonable pickup fee (call/email for an estimate). Both drop offs and pickups need to be scheduled via their website. e-Opala can provide photo and list of equipment after disposal/drop off if requested. Payment for services via cc was straightforward via the emailed invoice link. Drives/tapes can be shredded with their mechanical shredder (approx $6/drive and $6/tape at time of this review). If more services are needed (eg. wiping + destruction + more detailed inventory of equipment) call for more info/latest pricing. Jason was very easy to work with via email or phone. read more

I Definitely will recommend my friends and anyone looking for an affordable home office setup that doesn't need the latest and greatest! I was looking for an affordable monitor for my home office. Jason hooked me up with an older model 23" for only $25! He explained the monitors don't have any recycle value so they either end up in a dump or if they're functioning he can resell them. Reusing is recycling! He sources his gear from companies that upgrade to new equipment so much of the things he has is still in great working order. He also threw in a free keyboard and mouse and took the time to find the cables I needed. He occasionally has older laptops he sells for cheap as well, I might have to pick one up for my toddler since he likes to "work from home" with me! read more

I found Jason's ad on fb market place and messaged him because he had a MacBook Air at an awesome price. After a few messages back and forth, I went down to see him and he was very helpful from start to finish. Jason offers a great place to safely and conscientiously recycle old laptops, desktops and other electronics. He was willing to destroy a hard drive (at my request) by running it through his shredder while I waited. He insured it was destroyed and put my mind at ease by immediately showing me the shredded pieces. Jason can also "wipe" hard drives and re-purpose old computers.
