Came for a mid week, I'm tired, I don't want to cook pick me up. We order the viatnamese egg rolls and PHO GA. We were missing our favorite place in Irvine, CA. I remembered this place was pretty good. We very much enjoyed the egg rolls, the mix of spices, pork and rice noodles. They were crispy without being oily. Straight up, I had the best Chinese that I have had in Denver in about 10 years. I ordered the Spicy Empress Chicken and my wife had the Chicken w/ Vegetables. Both entrees were top notch. The Spicy Empress Chicken has a rich, flavorful, curry-based sauce and had that "sneak up on you" thai-type heat. The back of my head was sweating yet it wasn't over the top spice at all. The portion that they gave was huge - yet it wasn't packed full of vegetables like some places do. Tons of chicken. I have ate at so many different dishes at different Chinese food places in Denver but I would easily put the Spicy Empress Chicken in the top 3. Even the steamed rice was perfect. My wife had the Chicken w/ Vegetables and it was good too. I can't speak on the Pho or Thai dishes that the restaurant also offers because we didn't order those. As far as Chinese goes though it was top notch and I would definitely go back. Lastly, it is worth noting that my order was to go. The decor of the restaurant isn't anything to brag about. 2nd time I'm here and this time brought the girl friend. Very cold day and we were craving soup, so I knew exactly where to go. Broth is pretty clear and not to salty and not to bland. Their pho is pretty unique from what I've had in Denver. Someone guessed they use Chinese 5 spice but I've never asked I just know that the pho is consistently delicious. On the other hand the service is awesome sometimes and others really slow. I feel like it's a bit of a gamble when I go in if I'll be out in 30 minutes or an hour and 30 minutes. However the pho has always been great and I think it's worth the gamble. read more

These guys are excellent... I work across the street from them and I do eat lunch believe it or not. Decided to try out Saigon Terrace. I got their B1 Special Noodle bowl. It was delicious. I've never had a better noodle bowl. I did try their hot and sour and for me it was a little to sweet maybe? But aside from that I think the staff is nice and the service could improve a little in terms of time to serve food. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend trying them out. Prices are well within reason. P.S. Their AP1 (Vietnamese Soft Crystal Roll) is also very delicious. read more

I had lunch here the other day with my mom and brother, I was the only one eating but we all had boba. It was very cold and tasty, but the boba was either not cooked long enough or frozen. They were rock hard and if i ever eat here again, I'll get bubble tea from Lollicup which is across the street =) The dish i ordered was a Vietnamese Pan Cake. It was very good, but the pork tasted weird.. and there were only like, 3 shrimps in it =( The overall experience was alright, and the waitress was very nice..next time I come, I'll ask for their most delicious dish instead of just choosing something from the menu. read more

This is a tough call for me between 4 and 5 stars; in reality it's probably a 4.5 - but for being a place in my 'hood that serves pho?! Yes, you have my attention and my respect. In the interests of brevity (for once), feel free to read Kate G's review about their "flu shot pho". I'd pretty much mirror that. Have them give the "flu shot" treatment to the "pho dac biet", which is their "super combo" version -- tripe, beef ball (read: meatball), rare steak and flank. My one regret is they don't mess with tendon here - I am not sure why, because tendon can be delicious as well. Their broth is above average to begin with; the "flu shot" treatment makes it that much better. I've been trying to "deconstruct" their recipe and have experimented making pho at home getting close to their recipe; after consulting 6 or so pho recipes online and trying to make amazing pho broth. [I don't think you can get there via beef broth powder; and I tried with a can that I got in a store off SoFed]. I might be wrong but I'd almost swear they use a light amount of chili oil in theirs -- it floats on top and looks like the stuff in PF Chang's chili oil containers. I got some recently; we'll see how close I get this time. Always very friendly service; and I am usually taking it all home to consume (it's 1 huge meal, or 2 still pretty-large satisfying meals, for $9-10); they bag it up very professionally. No problems asking for extra hoisin sauce or other things. The place itself is fairly quiet and a bit shadowy, although they do have a TV on at times. They do deliver, but it's a $15 minimum. I see that being abused a lot potentially when winter comes. Regretfully, they stuck a sign in their window over the summer and because of staffing shortages, they are CLOSED Sundays now. So much for NFL Sundays where you want something a bit different to nom. At any rate: their consistency over a half-dozen visits is what lets them topple into the 5-star rating range. I have eaten at better pho places, yes; but nevertheless these people provide great service at an inexpensive price for delicious food...kudos, ST. read more

Yummy. I went here with a friend a few weeks ago for the Pho and was glad I did. Not the most stylish or modern restaurant, but it was clean and the other people who were in there eating seemed to be enjoying their food. We both ordered the chicken pho and I got the Thai boba tea. It was very very good - if you like chai you will most likely love this milk boba. The chicken pho was pretty darn good too. They even had red chili flakes/seeds to add to the broth which was a definite plus (you should try it in your Pho sometime). I eyed several other dishes as they left the kitchen and the pork ribs and noodle bowls looked so so good. I will definitely come back to try some other dishes and appetizers. read more

The food is bland. Ok but mediocre. The service was terrible. It took more than five minutes to be seated, no one was watching the door. One of our dishes was delivered to another table. Anticipation got the best of me when reading the reviews for Saigon Terrace. It was a favorite in the 80's and 10 yrs since my last visit. Crisp Vietnamese egg rolls, beautifully presented, heavenly pot stickers, and a Pho that my novice dinner guests enjoyed thoroughly. Vietnamese food is a top choice when I'm asked to select the dinner venue with friends. Now they think I'm nuts. How is it that I, the foodie, ended up with one of the most single disappointing soft shell crab entrées of my life? It looked so abundantly presented on a bed of fresh greens. I gave my two friends a crab to share and thought it odd when they shrugged and left most of it on their plates. Say goodbye to what I would call soft shell mush. The tiny little crab was engulfed in a doughy fritter batter that fought but lost the battle. After tearing open the doughnut and shredding the poor little crab from it's confines my plate was a hill of discarded breading. This is just wrong! I'm accustomed to West Coast Pho joints that have questionable residue stuck to their tables, no vegetarian options, and service that's pretty unmatchable in terms of it lacking all around. I visited this place with my friend who was in town from California. She ordered the beef pho and was thoroughly impressed. I had the vegetarian hot and sour fire pot with a side of yellow noodle. It was huge and I had plenty to take back home. Prices are definitely fair, attentive staff, and great eating experience. Will come back if ever in the neighborhood again! read more

As usual, I was craving pho and looking for a new place in an east Denver location to act out my addiction. Not only for pho but for thai tea as well. Located off of Colorado boulevard in a strip mall, Saigon Terrace is a nicely decorated and quaint spot with plenty of parking. They have a decent menu of all the Asian classics and do have a pretty good variety of different pho that one could choose from. I would say that overall, its about average. Perhaps I'm spoiled by living so close to Aurora and it's multiple quality Pho restaurants, but when it comes to Pho I found this restaurant to be lacking. While the Pho is sweeter than I'm used to, and the noodles are thicker and heavier than I would like, the reasons I give this place 2 stars are: - Ambiance is bad. Between the stains on the carpet, the thumping base at Tran's Workout Gym (which is right next door), and the generally old and tattered decor, it's a solid 1 star experience. - Call me cheap, but $8 is a lot to pay for a bowl of Pho considering it's $6-$7 at most of the Pho places I go. - The bowls and plates are too small...I know this sounds petty, but I just had a large bowl of soup stuffed in a small bowl of soup. I'm a fastidious eater (my wife makes fun of me) and I rarely spill or make a mess. Here, sloshing my noodles around in my bowl practically flooded the table. What's more, the fun little plate of veggies you get was also 2 sizes too small for the task. Of course, it wasn't all bad: - The sprouts were very fresh, which isn't always the case. - The service was just fine. - They had a nice full menu. Perhaps my mistake was getting Pho, as this place seemed to have a lot of other options. HELLLOOOO BROTH!! For those of you who love and respect pho broth, you should probably bathe in this beautiful creation. First off, more Vietnamese joints need to have "combos" like this place does. You get pho of your choice, spring or egg roll, and a drink!!!! Whattttt!!! Best deal ever! (Small print....it's only $10!) I ordered the flu shot pho and wasn't a fan...the broth was too sweet and not spicy like I expected. I asked for a side of regular broth and was blown away! It's hard finding good broth, the struggle is really real. I couldn't finish my pho as the portions are massive!!!! Not only did the waitress/hostess strain the flu shot broth from my pho to take it home, she filled the container with the magic broth!! She also mentioned that if I ever order and don't like it that she will replace it! Slow service. Several orders came out incorrectly or never came out at all. Ordered two smoothies and they were never provided. Ordered the Meatball and Flank steak Pho and it came out full of tripe. The waitress took the bowl back to the kitchen and attempted to just remove the tripe by hand. The bowl that came back was still full of tripe. They refused to properly fix the order or remove the cost of the dish from the bill. We will not be returning as this has been one of the worst experiences for any Pho restaurant we've ever been to. read more

I've been frequenting Saigon Terrace for my last minute Pho cravings, since I live right in the neighborhood. A to-go order of Pho Tai on a winter night while I'm fighting off a cold is brilliant. It's not the best pho I've enjoyed, but it's close and convenient. I've also dined in a few times, including for lunch yesterday. Since it was hot outside, I passed on the pho, and ordered a lunch special- Kung Pao Beef (which came with hot n sour soup, eggroll and fried rice for under $7), and a shrimp and pork spring roll. I was pretty disappointed by this entire meal. The beef was bland and chewy, and the 'fried rice' was more like steamed rice with tiny overcooked egg bits mixed in. It was not the Kung Pao I was craving. The food is 'mediocre' and the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The kelly green tablecloths and teal green chairs can certainly be an eyesore. Oh, and while you dine, you might find the employees overlooking you to enjoy their own lunch while watching Judge Joe Brown in the main dining room. They also have a full bar, although I'd be extremely hesitant to order a drink. Some of the open bottles look like they haven't been touched in my lifetime. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years and I think it's the best in the neighborhood food-wise, for Vietnamese noodle dishes. I always order one of the rice noodle bowls, which comes with some sort of roasted meat (pork, chicken, shrimp, beef), and a pork eggroll on top of rice noodles and a few vegetables. On the side they serve some mild fish sauce. I wish they were a little heavier on the meat/veggies and a little lighter on the rice noodles because I always leave a bowl full of leftover noodles. The service is spotty. The last time I went the server was quite stymied by our order, even though we read them right off the menu, then when she looked confused, told her the menu #. Once we were served, she came back and tried to give us someone else's order. Not a big deal, just kind of comical. The atmosphere is nothing more and nothing less than you would expect from a strip mall restaurant..basic tables and chairs, some posters on the wall, and industrial tile on the ceiling. read more

Last week I got a take-out order of pho (#6 rare steak and brisket). In a nutshell, it was OK. The broth wasn't the most flavorful I've ever had, but it wasn't bad (although maybe a tad too salty). Personally, I thought there was way too much noodle for the amount of broth I received, but I suppose I didn't have to put it all in ;-) The amount of meat was fine, but my main gripe is that the amount of herbage I received (basil and cilantro) was very skimpy. Fortunately I had both in my fridge to make up for what I wanted in the soup. If I pick up pho from here again, I'll ask for a little more. While I didn't dine in, the service I did receive for the take-out order was fine and the staff seemed efficient. I stopped in well after the lunch hour (probably around 3 or so) so there weren't many diners at the time. There were several tables that needed bussing, but generally the place looked clean. The noodle bowls are the way to go - DH enjoyed his special bowl but thought the pork was the best and I had the pork bowl. They also have bubble drinks, we got two to go on our way out. The bubble drinks didn't compare to the ones across the street at Lollicup, and nowhere near the number of flavors either. All in all this was a solid bet for a quick fix at Saturday lunch and it's close to our 'hood but I need to check out the places on Federal. read more

Not bad for pho in a strip mall. I got mine to go and was given more than enough basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, etc., which can sometimes be an issue when you get pho to go. The broth was light and nicely seasoned, though it had a different taste to it- almost a sweetness- not sugar sweet, but spice sweet, like cinnamon or chinese 5 spice. I really enjoyed it and felt the jalepeno and red chili flakes really set it off. The price was reasonable as well, which is always a plus. I'd go back again. read more
