Saigon Restaurant - Vietnamese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

I've been here soooo many times so I can finally review all about it ! If you're looking for some authentic Vietnamese, then this is the place for ya! Appetizers are great! I always get the egg rolls or the spring rolls. As for the entree, make sure to get the pork chop rice with an egg! So delicious and fulfilling. The pork chop is not hard like other places. If you want some soup instead of rice, I recommend getting the seafood egg noodle soup. Broth tastes pretty great. I had the pho before but it didn't taste great at all... it was not flavorful like other places.. however that was a few years ago so they might have change it. The price isn't expensive either. It's about $8-9/entree. Ps, they take credit cards now! :) read more

This is THE original Vietnamese restaurant in FW. Delicious food, courteous staff, modest interiors.

Love this place! They've got a huge menu of Vietnamese and other Asian food. Pho, wonton noodle soup, ramen, fried noodles... it's noodle city. It's cheap, filling, tasty, and has character. You've got to try their Vietnamese ice coffee and egg rolls too. I've heard their breakfast is good but I've never tried it because I keep getting the noodles instead (it's just so good). And now they take credit cards, so it's even more convenient! read more

Everything was very good. Wish I lived close to this place so I could come here more often. Very polite service. Clean and comfortable. 2nd visit was just as good as the first. Delicious beer noodles soup today was very satisfying. read more

One of the best places in Fort Wayne. The Pho soup is amazing and the little waitress is very very nice! One of my most checked in places here in town. Be cautious bc it can become a tight squeeze if they are busy. read more

Saigon Restaurant - First time for pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Pho , any variety you can think of. Fried Rice , any combo you can think of. How is it that I've lived in this town most of my life, and never been to this restaurant? I have now been twice and highly impressed both times. A very helpful tip, it is CASH only. read more

This. Place. Is. Awesome. I honestly don't know why you're sitting there reading this when you should honestly be on your way to the Saigon Restaurant to order a Summer Roll with Shrimp and Pork and a Vietnamese Coffee. The Roll was super fresh and honestly the best one that I've ever had - outside of Seattle. Seriously. No. I'm being totally serious here. I loved the fresh herbs, the soft roll and the umami from the dipping sauce - which was a unique mix of hoisin and peanut sauce - ultimately making the BEST peanut dipping sauce ever. The coffee is authentic and really strong - just make sure you ask how to make it the first time! The coffee here is SO much better than the Vietnamese Iced Coffee at the Dash In, and cheaper to boot. So go already - and thank me later. read more

I have been patronizing this restaurant for about 18 years. That should say enough but I will continue. First off, Ashley, the young woman that keeps everyone in line, is a gem. She does have her bad moments, i.e. rude customers, incorrect orders from the kitchen, but on the whole she does keep this establishment running like clock work, and when she is off, she is sorely missed. Next, the Pho severed here is the best in the city, and yes, I have tried many in various places around Fort Wayne. The Pho ga (chicken noodle soup) is the finest pick-me-up for a cold ever created. Or just a fine meal when you need a little comforting. The Pho tai nam (beef noodle soup) is made correctly here, in that, it seems to have very little, to no cinnamon in it. Again I have had many Pho tai and the under laying and very off putting flavor is to much cinnamon. Great in desserts, not in my soup. I don't think this review is going to have much impact on this place as it is one of Fort Waynes best kept, non-secret jewels and seems to be constantly busy. read more

Has a larger city diner feel. Many of the items on the menu are very traditional Chinese/American in flavor, albeit well done. However, the soups are out of this world, and so many to chose from. Huge bowls with amazing garnishes. The price is just right. Service may be a tad slow if they are busy and slow on help. Try the young coconut juice. Fantastic. My friends and I have been going back as often as we could once we found this place. If not used to it, avoid the fish sauce. read more

I give this restaurant 3 stars cuz the Duck egg noodle soup are very good but what disgusting about the restaurant was the register lady picked her nose in front of the customers while I'm eating. read more

Saigon Restaurant - Amazing!!!!! I always buy them in bulk as my main course!!!! Only $1 a piece!!! Soooooooooo good!! - Vietnamese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

This is a cheap and tasty place for Vietnamese food. The bun, pho and goi cuon dishes taste pretty standard. Not a big fan as the more Chinese items on the menu, including fried rice, lemongrass chicken over rice, but that's just me. I would be inclined to stick to the traditional Vietnamese dishes. Decor is diner-style. read more

They need so much more help here! It's so discombomulated here. No customer service. Owners need help. If you are not a local, you won't know you can just come in and sit down. Here I am waiting in line to get seated and a crowd of people come in and take all the last remaining seats. Now I am suck with taking it back to my hotel. Then wait 15 min for my order while the lady cleans some empty tables and doesn't even offer me to seat down. Very disappointed at the customer service level here. Food may be okay but your competition will take my business for lake of effort. read more

Fantastic food and service. Had a variety of appetizers, crab Rangoon, egg rolls, and the delicious spring rolls. Tried Vietnamese coffee for the first time. Delicious! read more

The Saigon restaurant is one of my favorite Vietnamese spots around town. From the outside, this seemingly appears to be a hole in the wall. But the interior is an amazing contrast. Inexpensive lounge music plays while you dine in this small intimate space. The menu here is great. Many of the standard dishes that you will find elsewhere, but with enough of a flair to separate itself. The Saigon shows how a little extra effort on presentation can go a long way. Admittedly, I do tend to stay within my comfort zone of dishes here. The vermicelli is very nice. Not too warm or cool. The addition of what tasted like mint was refreshing. It has the right consistency, though I wished there was more of a noodle serving. The rice dishes are great here too as the grilled meats are prepared well. The space is a bit smallish, so be prepared for a wait if the place is full. Though it seems like they have a back room for seating. At least it seems like it. If you are looking for solid Vietnamese fare with a little flair, The Saigon is your spot. * I notice the reviewer JayChan H. He states in his review that, "It's a rainy day in Fort Wayne". When you look at the photos he took. The one of the outdoor sign, also the interior. Looking out from the counter. The weather does not appear to be like that. ** Myself, I have often wanted to stat a review with. "It was a dark and stormy night". read more

We've visited twice since late 2016, and I honestly wish I'd been blown away. But I really, really wasn't. Pros: unique. Friendly (when it isn't too busy.) Affordable...just remember to bring cash. Cons: I truly love Pho. When I've got the time and energy, I make it myself (overnight bone broth and fresh herbs and all...) But both types I tried here were underwhelming. Kind of cloudy, with a strange salty taste. Maybe the type or amount of fish sauce? I don't know... it just wasn't anything like what I'd hoped based on other reviews. Egg rolls were okay. Except they arrived on a small plate, alone. No dipping sauce (besides what's on the table) and no lettuce to wrap or herbs to garnish. Just fried rolls on a plate. They were fine... but not exciting in any way, taste-wise or presentation-wise. Just a tiny bit of Nuoc Cham on the side would have worked wonders. Maybe they offer it, but only if you ask? One last problem: Based on the cleanliness of the dining area (iffy), I chose not to visit the restroom. My partner did, and came back a little shocked. Old is one thing. Old is fine. But sticky/discolored/grimy is not. For general cleanliness and quality's sake, we're bigger fans of other Fort Wayne Pho options (such as West Coast Grille on Calhoun, Bahn Mi Barista or Kim Vu on the north side, or Pho-Shi southwest). We might give Saigon a third try someday. But it'll be with mild trepidation. read more

Great little hole in the wall. Don't let the exterior scare you away. Seriously. The egg rolls are fantastic!! The pho is also really tasty.

Food was very good. The egg rolls are homemade and good. The broth was good and the portions are large for $7-$8. Service was a little scattered but this is a small restaurant and there were several other groups of people in there. I will be back for sure. read more

Saigon Restaurant - Sea food Phò - Vietnamese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Servers use same cloth cleaning tables with the same cloth with which the seats are wiped. Menu pricing aren't updated. Less meat was given in pho soup, less chicken in sweet and sour dish, and less of everything in ingredients but price has gone up. Great way to take customer's hard earned money and assuming customers aren't smart enough to know the difference. Increased your price but lowered the ingredients, you shake down the cost onto the customers. But I was still going to the restaurant and ignored all that flaws. Until they are starting to get every penny and cent out of random customers. I haven't paid much attention to my bills at Saigon until over the weekend eating at Saigon, I realized they automatically add hidden tips/fee to my final bill when tipping should be voluntary, not FORCED. We didn't have large parties, hidden tipping/fee were added to even single/two person diners. Saigon will also add their desirable amount of tipping onto your bill without your knowledge or consent. And they are selective on which customer they does this to. This has become common occurrence to few of my friends who dine in here regularly. But this is the first time this has happened to myself. I have told restaurant worker about this, and told them customers should have the right to tip however much they see fit with the exception if it is a large group/party. Their responses was you didn't give tip and our worker works hard. I think we all have worked hard for our money, so that's irrelevant response to why you could put down any tipping amount onto a customer's bill. And if the service wasn't good, why should a customer been forced to tip? She refused give me the print out receipt. Only willing to give me back the tips that she took. I didn't want the tips back. I wanted the receipt. In the end she still wasn't willing to give me that print out receipt has a proof of her adding the tipping amount on and only willing to write on a piece of paper of what I ordered. Not going to come back. I've been eating here for years, and sad to say, Saigon it's not the same as it once were. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. The place is very loud there is a back room but I didn't see it. My wife and I both had the pho. Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon were excellent. The Prawn and Squid were very good. I will go back.

Very busy lunchtime with a wildly diverse clientele who had one thing in common--they all knew where to go for first rate Vietnamese food. My daughter just returned from several months in Vietnam and took us there. She was very impressed with every dish, and although they do have more Americanized items, they specialize in delicious, authentic Saigon dishes. We loved it. read more

Hands down the best egg rolls I've EVER had. My boyfriend and I get at least 8 to share every time we go in. Their BBQ pork is amazing, tasty Rangoon, number 14 noodle is unreal. I've started to eat less meat, and was very happy for the staffs recommendation of the vegetable rice-noodle soup- I don't miss the meat at all. I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Fort Wayne (or to the few locals who aren't familiar yet). The staff is so sweet and make us feel legitimately missed when we spend too much time between trips. I believe it is a family business, which I love. read more

A++ - Amazing and affordable. I haven't had a bad thing on the menu - vegetable noodle soup, pho and spring rolls - and my picky husband loves that it offers more approachable dishes like fried rice. The prices are great and the service is good. (I think we get extra attention because the servers love our son!) My only complaint is the cash only policy. We would go more often if it wasn't for having to hit the ATM. read more

Today we stopped and I had the kung po pork. So good and spicy ...Just like a like it. The egg rolls are good. This place is like a neighborhood restaurant in Chicago. Local and lots of regulars. My first time trying out pho was great! Atmosphere is divey, which I find charming - makes me think they're too focused making awesome food to care about the wallpaper. Pho tai was delicious. Service was good and prices were decent.

If I could remember to keep cash on me I would be here all the time. The pho is amazing, spring rolls are to diet for, and the Vietnamese coffee is sugary, velvet-y and yummy. The place has an old-school diner feel, and it's fun to watch people come pick up their to-go orders for "20 egg rolls". No, seriously, that happened. I'm determined to try every version of pho they have. We'll be back time and time again for as long as we live here! read more

Best pho I have ever had, even though it is only the second place I have had pho, it was very good. The decore reminds me of a '50's dinner taken over by a Vietnamese family (you decide if that is good or bad). Bring cash, they don't accept credit cards. read more

Well we finally got a RARE front door parking...we went here about a week ago after we went to the Asian Market across the street....My Husband had the Seafood Pho and I had the Beef Pho...Now most seafood smells a bit, but His did not smell fishy....I tasted it..The squid? was VERY chewy, I had to sneak that little bugger in my napkin and dispose of it....It did not taste fishy though I will give them that..His fish tasted fresh...My beef was a bit chewy, and there was quite a bit in it ..It was very tasty..I would go and have it again.... Now the egg rolls ,,,OH YEAH !! Very good...The crab rangoon was tasty....We also took home for a snack later some Beef LoMein and it was very good.... They were busy and the Lady who waited on us was very nice...Our food did not take very long..They had tons of casrry out..the phone rang constantly....Yeah it ain't pretty, but was clean when we went....We go for good food , If the service was that bad we woould have left..But it was pretty prompt for having 6 tables, carry out and 1 person in the front of the house..... Try them out if you can find parking.....Love some good Asian cuisine....Hard to find in Fort Wayne....If you want carry out egg rolls you do have to wait awhile they are made fresh......Have patience...They are worth it.... read more

Fantastic pho and ramen at a great price. Just a small, hole-in-the-wall joint with great, fast service. Portion sizes are huge for what you pay. Egg rolls and Crab Rangoon are easily the best I've ever had. Also they now accept credit card! Eat here. You won't regret it. read more

Honestly I don't understand the glowing reviews of this place. The atmosphere is seriously lacking and the dish I ordered was both bland and way too greasy.
