First time in this city and we wanted some Chinese food. When looking for a good place on Google, Bamboo Garden came up and it was listed as the place for good Chinese food, but after purchasing the house special with lo mein noodles, this place came short of meeting our expectations of one the best place around. The texture of the rice was very hard, not soft, the noodles were like they just put them in the pan and put them in the container for us, wasn't cooked well. The service was fast, maybe that had something to do with the taste of our food, we decided to pitch it, I feel they could have did better preparation of this food, please think second before visiting this place maybe you will have a better experience than us. read more

Amazing food with huge portions- especially a great deal for the lunch specials! Made fresh right when I ordered. super nice staff to top it off read more

Some of the worst Chinese Food I have ever had. The sauce was so thick it was like a thick gravy. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. read more

First couple times were ok. Finding a good chinese place in FTW has been super challenging. Third time was today and the food was awful. I make better fried rice and the General Tso had a super gluey sauce that tasted like ketchup and cheap bbq with alot of chili pepper to try to mask the flavor. Only great thing we've had here is their crab rangoons, they are hot, freshly made, not too thick wrapper and overflowing with filling. read more

Been coming here for about a year now , food is always good. Today though noodles tasted kind of burnt. Egg rolls are fire!! We also love the almond cookies they have uff read more

Bamboo Garden - Orange Chicken and Plain Lo Mein with Egg Roll - Chinese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

Best Chinese takeout around, and the prices aren't bad either. We have since moved a little further away but the food is so good we drive and come pick it up. The house lo mein (ask them to make it spicy) is the definition of good comfort food. 11/10 read more

Fippity foppity, another place of mediocrity. So I recently got tested positive for COVID, and like any good citizen, I decided to destroy my health with Chinese takeout deliveries instead of going anywhere. I was going to order China House again, but then found out that Bamboo Garden is listed on UberEats too, with similar prices and better popularity, so, why not. ...Honestly, the two places are more similar than they are different all the same. But anyway, for this review I ordered these dishes: - Pepper steak combo with crab rangoons and house special fried rice - House special soup - Fried chicken (I've found out fried chicken is actually a very good way to judge how a place approaches food and especially appetizers in general). So, let's dig into each one and see what they offer for us. - Right out of the bat, the cream ch- sorry, crab rangoons are filled to the brim with exactly what you think it would be filled with. So much so, in fact, that when I took my first bite the cream cheese squirted all over my face. It's very sweet, too, but I don't dislike it. I do find the crab rangoons rather enjoyable, even if it's very fast-food-y and I still wish I could see a crab rangoon with actual crab or at least a substantial amount of surimi crab in it instead of whatever the heck they are offering as crab rangoons these days. - The house special soup is kind of strange. It's quite substantial and arguably a good value, but I cannot decide if I like it or not. The soup liquid itself doesn't feel brothy, in fact it felt more like an egg drop soup but with vegetables, chicken, shrimps, and char siu in it instead of egg. Yes. Vegetables, chicken, shrimps, and char siu. That's what makes things "house special". The vegetables are quite fresh and have a bite to them, but none of the protein had much flavor. The chicken is also rather... mushy? I legitimately thought it was tilapia at first before taking a closer look is what I mean. - The fried rice is just okay. Like I said, house special just means small bits of shrimp, chicken and char siu. Your classic takeout, just-cooked fried rice. Kinda wet. Not great. Not the worst. - The pepper steak with onion and bell pepper... tastes exactly like what you would expect out of a good Chinese buffet, like Paradise for example, albeit with a bit too much salt. Who cares about yin and yang when you have soy and sodium I guess. I would just go to Paradise for that though. Pepper steak, I mean. Not salt. - Now the fried chicken is interesting. For some reason, the chicken actually tastes pretty meaty and doesn't feel like the Walmart chicken they used for their soup. Not organic by any means, but YO WHAT'S THAT YELLOW COLOR ABOUT?!!! I don't usually take supplementary pictures, but this yellow film covering the meat just has to be seen. See Pic 2. I sure hope it's just chicken fat, though I don't know why it would turn the whole thing yellow like that. It still tastes fine and doesn't seem to be anything concerning, but I'm still... well, rather concerned. If anyone reading this knows what's affecting His Yellowness, please do let me know. Other than that, it's still a far cry from Phở Indy's or Aladdin's fried chicken, but it's definitely better than most fast food places. Yellow tallow aside. That about sums it up for my feelings towards Bamboo Garden. I... honestly didn't know what to expect out of it when I was ordering, and I'm still not sure what to think of it now. It's your classic Chinese takeout with all of its convenience and dodginess is all I can say. It does decent business like China House and many others do decent business. It's not Wu's or Hainan House by any means, but it's edible and still better than Panda Express, even if only slightly. read more

The Food is always good! Our go-to for area Chinese food. I recommend it and so does the family.

So....i get that prices have gone up HOWEVER, General Tso chicken, Seseme chicken, and Orange chicken were $9.50 NOW they are $14.69!!!! Wow! Same portion and it's not even THAT good. Crab Rangoon was $4.50 for 6 pieces NOW $7.99 for 6. Like I said, I understand that they may have needed to raise their prices due to inflation but i think that's a little excessive. Sorry, won't be back. Many other Chinese takeouts to choose from. read more

I think this little spot is pretty solid. I always just get it to go. It's always hot and ready when I get there. I get the #41. Beef something or other. It's garlicky and delicious!!!! They pack the container full!! The crab Rangoon are really good and they have lots of filling! My husband got the kung pao chicken and really liked it. The only complaint I have... my husband got a can of Diet Pepsi, took a swig and recoiled back from it. It had expired almost a year before. But the food is always great! read more

Bamboo Garden - #41. VERY good! Lots of garlic. - Chinese Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

We had the Chicken Lo Mein and Orange Chicken with fried rice. The ChIcken Lo Mein was very good and just enough sauce with big lunch portions. The orange chicken was not my favorite, but my kids liked it and it was really crispy. For 6.70 during lunch hours from 11 am to 3pm it was a good portion size and they still both came with fried rice or white rice and a choice of hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. read more

Good food, fast service, and it tastes great. The ordering process is easy just go through the yelp app.

Food is good. Service is either very friendly or cold depending on who is at the register.

Food is awesome. Honey chicken is delish. Egg rolls and crab Rangoon are amazing too! Only complaint is the boy at the front counter could use an attitude adjustment. read more

Food was hot, fresh and very good. Will definitely be back! Ambiance is lacking but the food more than made up for it!!!

Extremely bad service. They cannot keep orders straight, and on 2 separate occasions gave our order to someone else. Then we had to wait an additional 20 min while they remade our order. They have unfortunately lost our business. read more

Our meal has never disappointed and their egg rolls are perfection -- highly recommend Kung Pao or Mongolian Beef

Best Chinese food I've ever had in 50 states! The orange chicken is soooooo gooood! It has orange zest in the sauce. Our whole family loves this place. read more

I have visited twice once at lunch and once at dinner both times have been very busy and folks waiting for their food for carry out. Call in your order if you can hopefully for a shorter wait. So far my favorite has been any dish with shrimp, scallops, beef or chicken. The beef and chicken are both thin tender pieces. Loved the scallops and the shrimp. The pork was surprisingly not tender but will give it another try. I have enjoyed the Happy Family and the Shrimp and Scallops in Garlic Sauce the best so far. Looking forward to trying other items. There are 4 tables to sit at with 4 chairs each. With people standing to wait on their food it can get a bit crowded. The ladies taking and preparing orders are very nice. It's a busy kitchen! read more

I'm guessing it was the owner's kid working the phone and front.. but horrible attitude. Food I picked up... just as bad. Avoid at all costs. read more

This is the best Chinese food in the area. However they recently raised their prices and it now costs me the same price to feed two of us as it used to cost to feed three of us. The owner gave what I felt was a lame excuse for the price increase. I like most things on the menu but I don't like the Pad Thai. read more

The lunch special portions are great. Food always tastes fantastic. My Chinese takeout go to!

Good food. Great price. And FAST. We love the hot n sour soup and lo mein. Beef n broccoli and orange chicken is good too.

Great portion sizes for families, good food, quick service. My only complaint was the sauce on the General Tso's chicken was a bit too thick and sweet for our liking. There was really no kick to it at all. We will try something else next time. Overall not bad for our first time tying this place. read more

Delicious and inexpensive. I had the Szechuan chicken which was packed full of tender chicken and crunchy vegetables. The flavor was great and just a little bit spicy. I went for takeout and my meal was ready within 15 minutes of calling. Everyone was courteous-I will be back to try many more things on this menu. read more

This place is basically a hole in the wall, but don't let that stop you. The food is good, and they give huge servings! Enjoyed my tofu with mixed vegetables. Husband enjoyed his sesame chicken. We liked the vegetable char kway teow noodle also. Definitely good for takeout. read more

The pad thai was mushy and lacked flavor. Too much for one to eat and would suggest a smaller serving with more sauce. The egg roll and spring roll was mushy as well and the hot and sour soup was sweet. Tried it once and it was enough. I cannot say it was the best I ever had and will not go back. read more

Very grateful for Bamboo Garden and their employees. We were in town for the holidays over Christmas and were extremely unprepared for what seemed like every food establishment being closed. There was a 2 hour wait for carry out on Xmas day but well worth it! The food was amazing. We got chicken wings, egg rolls, veggie lo mien, and general tso. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Was pleased with the food but they cant seam to get my orders right 2 times i was missing a meal and didnt get any kind of compensation for it all im told is i only charged for 1 of course i dont have a receipt with the items on it to prove that have problems under standing them so when they repeat the order you think its what you ordered read more

Portion size is huge and good for sharing. Delicious crab Rangoon Char Kway Teow Noodle

Their food is always awesome, veggies are cooked perfectly, and they sub tofu for any meat item on their menu. I have been looking for a good Chinese place that does tofu well since I've moved her and I'm always happy with theirs. read more

Love this place, and glad it has reopened! Crab Rangoon is wonderful - lots of filling, and they fold the corners over so you don't have big gobs of dough without any filling. Spring rolls are light and well filled. Portions are large - I can get 2 or 3 meals out of a large order of Kung Pao Chicken. read more

I'm confused why this place doesn't have a higher rating than it currently has. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and they run there lunch specials till 3pm everyday. Which I like bc most places only run there lunch specials Monday through Friday. Staff was friendly. The prices were excellent for the amount of food I received. However, I was looking at the dinner prices and they were much higher. I don't think I would come here during dinner hours. I ordered orange chicken and choose fried rice and egg drop soup. All that for around $5.95. Then I got a couple of egg rolls and they were HUGE! Not only were they big and delicious they were also only $1.20. Then I also got some almond cookies. Those were also great. One of my favorite things about this meal was that the orange chicken had a few slices of orange peel and gave it a very very nice citrusy orange taste. I definitely be returning a lot for lunches here. I had such healthy and big portions that I got a good size 2 meals for under $8. read more

If you are craving Chinese food this is one of the best in town. Their lo mein was great as well as their crab ragoons.

The chicken low mein and general tso's were both piping hot, seasoned appropriately and ready within 10 minutes of getting there. What more could you ask for with Chinese take out? read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see another Chinese takeout in my general area of dining. I'm not a big fan of Hopsing's if you must know. But upon eating 2-3 times from Bamboo Garden, I will say it's just an average place with nothing quite out of the ordinary. If you're craving takeout, you won't be disappointed, but you're not going to be overwhelmed either. read more

A welcome Chinese restaurant on our side of Fort Wayne. The portions are huge and a fantastic value for the price. The vegetables are crispy and fresh.
