Just not great food. General Tso's chicken was all batter could not find chicken in any piece. Rubbery too. Other reviews say any meat that is battered contains little to no meat in it. They need to order and cook differently with this or people won't come back. Maybe the cooks can visit China Palace or Han Dynasty to see how to better prepare these dishes. Rice was prepared adequately. Sauce for Cashew Chicken had a weird cardboard smell and little chicken. Service was fine. Ambience is pretty basic for a mostly take out place. I've been a regular customer at this restaurant for a while, but after tonight's experience, I won't be coming back. We ordered two General Tso's chicken dishes, and both were absolutely disgusting. The chicken was so overcooked and chewy that it was inedible. We tried to call several times to report the issue, but no one answered the phone for over 90 minutes. When we finally got through, the manager told us we had to return the food for a refund. When I went back to the restaurant, I asked if we could get a coupon or discount on our next order to make up for all the trouble. The employee literally started laughing at us. Omg I went here because a friend took me and I wished I didn't live so far away. Then again maybe I do.....cause the food was AMAZING. I'd say the best take out Chinese I have had. With that said it's easy to get to and by placing the order over the phone it made it quick to pick up pay and go. Very strict sanitary precautions made me feel safe inside and staff was super friendly. We got so much food too. Chicken and shrimp eggs rolls. Shrimp was way better than the chicken and I'd def recommend getting a few. Their egg rolls that come with the meals are good and they are huge!!! Egg drop soup was thick and full of eggs and it tasted amazing. The hot and sour soup, not pictured, was so full of tofu and egg flakes and veggies that you didn't even realize that it was not spicy at all. I actually added a packet of hot mustard. Now it was tasty. Chop suey, not pictured, was the best I've eaten. Nice brown gravy and veggies sliced perfectly as well as tons of pork. The honey chicken was the worst. By the time I got it home the chicken coating was soggy, the chicken. Was tough and dry. I wouldn't recommend it. Not picture was the pork loins mein. Also very tasty and def recommend. My daughter at it all! Pork sliced into thin strips and very tender. The fried rice isn't very appetizing either and it was left h touched, however the white rice was perfect. Slight stickiness and held well under our dishes. We'll order that next time. Usually we add soy sauce to our Chinese take out meals but with Hong Kong it was not needed. The dishes are so flavorful and served piping hot that I only added hot mustard just because I love things hot. ESP that mustard. Great addition to Fort wayne. Def recommend. This place is hit or miss. Sometimes the meats are perfect and other times over cooked and dry. Everything is heavy on the sauces and portions. The pork fried rice is a go to, it's pretty damn good. Just doesn't keep well. So eat it up the night you get it home. People mistake the quick to the point service as rude but its not. They just don't speak fluent english and want to get your order quickly. I find them to be very nice in fact. We order here maybe once a month when we want some unhealthy American style Chinese food. As long as you go in to this place knowing that it's not traditional food and it's cheap then you will be ok. And don't forget your egg rolls we always fight over them. read more

This is a legit take-out option on the SW side - super good food for the price and convenience. We ordered veggie egg rolls (best in town, IMO), crab Rangoon (decent but not awesome), veggie lo mein for me, chicken lo mein for hubby, and the triple delight for my son. The portions are huge; a small is plenty for the lo mein. The triple delight looked super good - I don't eat meat, but the veggies were plentiful and my son said it was great. Lo mein is really good although the veggie lo mein only had about 3 pieces of broccoli in it in terms of actual veggies. They also gave us an extra egg roll for free - either because we are frequent customers or because we ordered so much - not sure. I keep seeing the low star rating so I had to show Hong Kong some love. Like many have said I was leery of giving this place a try due to poor reviews, but really wanted Chinese late one night and decided to give it a try - it was exactly what I expected; cheap Chinese take out (there is a small fast food type dining area as well). We've been back about three times and I can literally feed the entire family for less than $30 and everyone even has leftovers. If you go into this with expectations set accordingly/to the prices I think most will enjoy Hong Kong for what it is. read more

I've been ordering from here for years, but never eaten at the location. It's small with tables to wait, but I've often wondered how many actually eat here. Due to a power outage, we were starving and no one wanted to wait to get home, so 6 of us decided to eat here. The female cashier came from behind the counter and not only helped us move tables together, took our order at the table, but she was very helpful with questions and ordering. The kids received their drinks with lids, and although I was tired and not very thirsty, she made me drink some hot tea. :) So sweet. Our dinners were promptly served after our soups, which we shared, and then she gave a few drinks for the road. I don't expect that to be the case with every customer who decides to sit down and eat, but it was a lovely evening and they far-exceeded any expectations we may have had. read more

I ordered two different kinds of chicken dishes one from the regular Chinese menu and one from the Szechuan menu. I'll be damned if there was a single difference between either one of these bland flavourless and quite disgusting meals. Both dishes were coated in a salty syrupy brown slop. Half way through my egg roll I noticed both my hand and my plate were swimming in grease. I normally don't eat Americanized ethnic food. But this has to be the worst I have ever ate. Gave the left overs to some Burmese friends as practical joke. Will most defiantly not return. read more

This place is my go-to for late night noodles. If you're ever in the mood for some good lo mein or chow mein, this is where you should get it. I don't get anything else from here because it's just not good, in spite of that their noodles are a must try. Very good take out. Was not sure if we wanted to try it with some of the poor reviews, but it turns out this is now our favorite place for take out Chinese food. The veggie egg rolls and pork fried rice were very good in our opinion. We ordered Sesame Chicken and I asked for less sauce because someone mentioned in reviews that there was too much sauce on their dish. Mine was perfect. My husband just ordered his regular and it would have been fine too. We were very pleased with our order after reading some of the reviews and will be going back. It's what you expect - quick, Americanized Chinese takeout. But who said that's a bad thing? Yes, it's hard to understand the staff when you call in to place an order. Yes, sometimes they're a little later with your food than they said. And yes, it may not be the best plate of sesame chicken you've ever had. But they've never messed one of my orders up, they're usually pretty busy so I'm not surprised when they're late, and it's still some tasty chicken so shut up. If you're looking for some good takeout than go no further. If you're looking for fancy schmancy Chinese food (or even a place with an actual dining room) than keep moving.
