Beef lomein lunch special, spicy. Crab Rangoon. Hot & Sour Soup
    Allison B.

I got a carryout of the beef lomein lunch special and crab rangoons. I ordered online which was an easy and enjoyable experience. I wasn't sure about the hype on the Crab Rangoons - I typically don't like them because they are usually grossly sweet and get an egg roll when trying somewhere new first - BUT, believe the hype! They are amazing, crispy and only ever so slightly sweet and appear to actually have some sort of crab meat in them. I appreciate that I could add sweetness when I wanted to with their dipping sauce that came with it. I will admit that the sauce was kind of weird, not smooth like a typical dip but rather like an applesauce as others have said - but it did taste good. My special came with soup, which I didn't expect! It was hot and sour soup, and was very good. I wish it came with some crunchy topping, but I believe you can add on some fried chow mein for an extra $2 if you really wanted to. The soup was a bit thicker than I would prefer, but not full on gelatinous like over at China Express. I ordered my lomein spicy, and was pleasantly presented with a med-hot level noodle order, right about where I wanted it to be. The portion was pretty large for a lunch order, had I skipped the rangoons, I still would probably have left overs. It was a bit greasy, and the veggies were a little overdone, but tasted good, and my beef was very salty and beefy tasting. I'm not sure if the beef maybe was a little older? Hopefully not an issue later. If I got the lomein again I'd probably just go veggie, but I wanted to see how their meat was this time around. I'd say this is good food especially if you have been drinking. Would come again at lunch time! Good price at lunch, I don't know about dinner.

Orange chicken king. Four entrees down and more to go.

This young man enjoyed a great deal of takeout from this fine establishment. He threw back plates with effortless vigor. His hunger knew no end but the succession of his food supply. Seeing someone consume food with this enthusiasm and pace lead me to believe this food must be the fuel of the gods. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Truly inspiring. Rivaled only by the notorious and elusive Crab Rangoon King of Hot Pot 608. I wish upon all of you, dear readers, a chance to witness a marvel of this magnitude.

    Spicy chicken, beef & shrimp

We ordered through waiter on the way. Our food arrived quick and it was hot and fresh. We tried the crab rangoon, egg rolls, vegetable fried noodles and the spicy chicken, beef and shrimp with peanuts. Everything tasted great! The crab rangoon is not very sweet like a lot of places but was very good! Egg rolls had good flavor, the vegetables fried noodles were thin noodles and very good. I loved the spicy chicken, beef and shrimp with peanuts.

Bbq pork fried rice size small. Packed full

First time here and it has pros and cons as all places do. Plenty of parking as it's located in a strip mall next to some hotels off Washington center. Easy access in and out of parking lot. I wanted a light dinner and love soup. Walking in the do require masks, staff wears them and they have tables 6 ft apart and clearly marked. I ordered carry out. The inside was very clean and well decorated. The woman working the register took my order. She seemed very busy as take out orders were being called in at every chance the phone had to ring. The soups only come k. One size which is 8 oz. I wish they offered pint and quart size like other places do. All soups were hot when I tasted them. The wonton soup had to large wontons but there was very little meat inside and it was wrapped several times with the wonton dough. To much dough and not enough meat. The broth was full of scallions but way to salty. Didn't need soy sauce at all. The hot and sour soup was not spicy at all. I didn't see any chili flakes or pepper flakes not taste any either. It would have been great to add some hot mustard but they didn't give me any. It had some egg flakes and veggies and a small amount of tiny tofu bits. I would ask for it to be spicier next time I order it. The egg drop soup was full off cooked egg chunks and scallions. But it also had these chunks of water chestnuts that gave it an odd texture and flavor. It was of course died a bright yellow and a little thick but not gelatinous like some other places make theirs. It had a good flavor but I wouldn't order it again due to the water chestnuts. There was to many in there and it over powered the taste you want from just the soup. I also tried their small order of BBQ fried rice. It was packed full of small bits of pork and carrots onions and peas. The rice however was to el dente for my taste and almost crunchy with some bites. It did have great flavor though and the carton was packed full. It was enough for two people. Ok my daughter and I , and I didn't want that much since it was crunchy it was inexpensive for what I ordered but their dinners are pricey and they don't come with soup or an egg roll or rice. They seem to have good lunch item deals that do come with that stuff for about $8. Bs the $15 for dinner. Overall I'm glad I tried it and I would go back to try a lunch meal and some other appetizers and soups they had on their menu. The lo mein. Looked delish and the mushroom soup that served two sounds very tasty. I would recommend to try if you've never been. Pretty decent place.

Wonton soup. I added just a touch of soy sauce. But it didn't even need it. Yum!

Firstly, let me just say, I'm a sucker for delivery! I haven't had this place in probably 12 years or so. I happened upon a flyer of theirs that said they had delivery. Sold! We ordered wonton soup, crab rangoon, General Tso chicken, and orange chicken. It was all really good. Slightly better than your standard Chinese takeout. No one does orange chicken like Panda Express. No one. So there's no sense in comparing it to theirs. But my daughter really enjoyed it. The soup was really good! The wontons could've used a bit more filling, but the broth was fantastic! The crab Rangoon were above average for sure! Lots of filling in them. It took about an hour to get it. But the lady taking my order was upfront about the wait time when I called. She let me know they were running a little behind. Overall, a good experience and I will be ordering from them again!

Wonton soup, crab rangoon, spring roll.

The food here is alright. I don't like the wontons in the wonton soup. Dough tastes pre-made and very little filling. Crab rangoon is filled nicely and very tasty. But the wraps are rather chewy. Lady owner IS very rude just as other Yelpers said.

Breaded shrimp was 80% breading and 20% shrimp. You could barely see the shrimp. The chicken in the king pai was all dry and tough.

The decor is typical 60s Chinese restaurant with red lanterns and murals, but it does have a great fish tank in the center. The staff are all super friendly. You will find the typical menu items but prepared better than you've had before. All the meals come with soup, both the egg drop and tomato beef choices are very good. I'm always here with my family and we finally learned to order a few entree's and a few appetizers because we usually ended up with far too much food. Some menu highlights are the General Tsao chicken, the pineapple chicken, the crispy rice soup for two is excellent. They also offer Vietnamese selections, several varieties of Pho, and pan fried noodles. If you're ever in Fort Wayne I highly recommend you stop in.

I've wanted to try the Hainan House for years. I've read their good reviews and made it a must…read moretry. I will say that these reviews led me to believe that the Hainan House provided a premium-gourmet product like Han Dynasty and Wu's Chinese. Hainan isn't in that top tier where the product WOWS you. But rather, Hainan is in that next tier down where some things are better than others. I ordered take out versus dinning in. The two elderly employees I interfaced with were very kind and helpful. The facility is easy to find as it is in the same complex as The Clyde. The building is older, in good repair and nicely decorated with Chinese decor (see pictures). Parking surrounds the building in an awkward manner - you will figure it out. The menu is very large (see pictures) as it is at most Chinese restaurants. Prices were fairly reasonable. My order was prepared quickly..so no waiting! The fried pot stickers were fairly standard compared with other Chinese restaurants. Not over cooked. Slightly oily. Tender wrapper and pork insides. It came with a dip that added flavor and moisture. The General Tso's sauce was very tasty. It was moderately thick, slightly sweet, a little spicy and stuck to the breading nicely. Nice taste without being sappy sweet or spicy hot! The chicken pieces were larger than bite size. This made it difficult to eat as I had to cut each piece into small enough pieces to eat with the rice. I found the chicken to be somewhat over cooked and slightly tough. The breading was thick and absorbed the seasoned sauce taste perfectly. The Happy Family sauce was very bland. It coated the meat and vegetables nicely keeping them moist. However it really didn't do much to accent these items. The vegetables were nicely cooked with a slight crisp. I was disappointed in the amount of meat placed in this dish. It felt like I was lucky to get more than one piece of each seafood item. These meats were cooked to expectation - moist and tender. Overall this dish was bland and didn't impress. The white rice was cooked to expectation. Slightly moist. It was easy to pick up with the entree bites. Overall, make sure you understand the product you are getting. I expected a premium product which disappointed me. I might have a different rating if I dined in and selected items that fit the "next tier" level of taste.

I had an enjoyable dining experience at this restaurant…read more For one, the food was terrific, and the menu was pretty extensive. I know I walked out of there extremely full, knowing I would return. However, the best part of the evening? It was undoubtedly the service that I received from my server. A mom of several kids, we talked about the challenges of balancing school and activity schedules with work hours required by her employer. In particular, we discussed one of her daughters, who is apparently an avid golfer despite the responsibilities of tending to her other tables. And she handled that with a smile and with grace. As I was in Ft. Wayne on a golf-related matter, I keyed in on this part of the conversation. Again, it was extremely friendly to meet someone so pleasant. Back to the food - again, it was excellent. And I will be honest, I ate more than I should have! The restaurant is in a small strip mall, but it is well-maintained at the time of my visit. For photos, I suggest that you Google the restaurant - there is an extensive selection. This also applies to the menu. Many, many choices, and they all look great.

Thai Tea - $ 3 - This wasn't very good. It didn't really taste like Thai Tea. 0/5 stars. Spring Roll - $7 - This we got I think on a Wednesday night, because if you spent so much money you get a free spring roll appetizer. It was ok, but I wouldn't have paid money for it. 3/5 stars. Vegetables and Tofu $14, Chicken $16, Beef $17, and Shrimp $18 We had the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Pad See-Ew. The Pad Thai had the best flavor, and then the Pad See-Ew, and I really can't recommend the Drunken Noodles. We got the Drunken Noodles medium spicy and the other two mild, but I couldn't taste any spice in them. I really wouldn't recommend getting the noodles here, but if you had to pick one, get the Pad Thai. Now for the good part, the sushi! Now, I was planning on trying everything and just making a giant list of what's so good, but I apologize, there's so many good ones that I just forgot my nit picking on certain rolls. You really can't go wrong with any of the rolls. I haven't had a bad one yet. I'm going to list all the rolls I've had, but really, just pick your favorite fish and I'm sure it'll be good. I'd pay money for this. 5/5 stars. Go here for the sushi and the Tempura Cheesecake! We stuff ourselves with so much sushi that we don't leave room for dessert, but I really should get that cheesecake again. Go here!
