I…read morecontend that 800 Degrees is far and wide the best pizza in Fort Wayne, but after our last fiasco about two years ago when the presumed owner acted like a sanctimonious jackass, we have not been back. Fast forward to today and the house hottie wanted to do the humble thing and give them another go (Against my better judgement, but I digress... Happy wife, happy life). I've inexplicably gotten a gluten sensitivity about a year ago (which sucks), so we ordered two GF pizzas. The pizzas are literally half the size of their standard Neopolitan pizzas along with a $4.00 up-charge for GF, totaling $51 for carry-out (just two tiny skimpily topped pizzas, nothing else)... This is a joke right? While the pizzas were good (not as good as their Neopolitan), $51 is laughable and frankly insulting. Wow, this is some "bold" customer price gouging and should piss-off anyone that orders their GF pizza... Albeit I wouldn't expect anything less coming from the guy that treats his customers like ill repute. Needless to say, we are officially done with 800 Degrees... From bad customer treatment to getting bent by over like a cheap Vegas hooker via price gouging, 800 Degrees and its pompous owner can get bent. This is such a travesty because 800 Degrees is an outstanding pizzeria, but there are other solid pizzerias in Fort Wayne that deserve our business because they don't do either of the above. We've never had anything we didn't love! This most recent visit, we started with the Mexican Caesar and Chips with guacamole. Yum! Hubby had the Saturdays Night Special Burrito made with pork carnitas, Arroz verde, queso, avocado crema and tomatillo salsa on a grilled flour tortilla. Excellent! He could not finish it because it was so substantial... I usually go for tacos, and the Texican is my absolute go-to! SO flavorful! Also had the pork carnitas taco, neither of which could I finish. Love that all tacos can be wrapped in lettuce instead of tortillas if one prefers! Totally forgot pics until we packaged our leftovers (which hubby happily enjoyed the next day), so that's the only pic you get, unfortunately! Similar to the Mexican fast-casual, you do down the assembly line, starting with what type of food item you want (tacos, burrito, a bowl, salad, etc) and add your proteins and veggies and sauces and assorted toppings as you go down the line. You've been to these places before. One of the things that stand out for me is the variety of items available. Yes, they've got chicken and beef and barbacoa, but they also have chimichurri chicken, which is an absolute stand-out item. If you're unfamiliar with chimichurri, it's chicken that's typically sautéed with finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano and red wine vinegar. That leads to a very green colour, but the taste is (insert chef's kiss here). I typically get mine in bowl but vary the toppings over time. As you go down the line and add your toppings you're basically creating your own meal. At the end of the line you're handed your meal on a tray and each order comes with a small bag of freshly made chips and you can chose from any one of about ten different types of salsa. I've tried most of them, my favorite being the tomatillo because it tastes so fresh, but they're all made fresh in store and each has its own distinct flavor. We've been to this location a number of time and the service has always been awesome and the facility has been very clean. They do a great job of keeping the dining room clean. In a world of QDoba, Moe's, Chipotle, and Salsarita, I'd take Salsa Grille over all of them. If I had the means I'd bring a Salsa Grille franchise to Louisville.

The service is fast and friendly, the food is excellent (huge portions), there's lots of fresh/healthy options, and it's all very well-priced - $31 for two bowls w/ miso soup and two drinks (other restaurants in town that are price-gouging customers need to take notes). On this occasion we picked Salvatori's on Washington Center Road. We've always had an easy time getting a table here as the restaurant is fairly large. Very fresh with lots of meats and side veggies. A very attractive dish also. The house dressing is light, slightly sweet and has a nice oil based taste. Side house salads are very tasty and fresh as well. Lots of side veggies and cheese packed into this over flowing bowl. The Frutti di Mare is a weekly special only. The linguini was perfectly cooked and plentiful. The red sauce had a nice tomato with Italian seasoning/oil taste. Often this sauce can be very spicy. This dish was not spicy nor did it sacrifice flavor. There were lots of mussels - which don't have much meat. There really wasn't much shrimp or calamari included. The fish was tender and flakey.

The wrapper was soft and easily cut. The chorizo was fairly mild - no spicy kick. The eggs were tender. The fried potatoes provided a nice crisp on the inside.
