While driving through Fort Wayne, we were itching to get a caffeine boost for our last two hours in the car to Indianapolis. We looked up all the boba shops around, not expecting to find too much in the area, when we came upon Hoshi Hoshi. As soon as we saw "Mango Sticky Rice Frappe," we knew we had to go. It's great to see a really creative boba shop in Fort Wayne, especially one that (I think) is Thai owned, which is a big departure from the mostly Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese owned shops through the US. When we first walked in on a early weekend afternoon, there were no other customers in the shop, but as we waited for our drinks, more and more people started walking in until the place was completely full. I'm glad we were at the start of the rush rather than during it! Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.95) - Toppings are $1 each which is kind of on the expensive side. The tea is pretty good for this type of drink, mellow with perfect sweetness at 50%. The boba is a bit too soft, resulting in a disintegrating exterior that's rough and craggy. The bubbles are quite uniformly chewy throughout and resemble more of a jelly than typical tapioca balls. (3/5) Mango Sticky Rice Frappe w/ Jelly Mango ($9.95) - This drink consists of a mango and cream smoothie topped with sweet coconut infused sticky rice, diced mango, and a salty cream cheese topping. The drink is like a creamsicle leaning more towards the mango flavor instead of the cream flavor. The mango jelly sinks to the bottom of the drink, allowing you to get a piece every couple of sips. I was kind of nervous that if the rice was intermixed with the ice that it would be hard and gross, but thankfully they constructed this drink pretty well. Super delicious overall. (5/5) There was one puzzling thing - the barista asked us if we were okay with Jelly Mango in the drink and when we asked if it was included she said yes. Then she went ahead and charged an extra dollar for the topping. Either that, or the drink is not labeled corrected in the menu at $8.95. Bizarre in either case. Bathrooms: None that are customer accessible. I was really surprised by Hoshi Hoshi. I didn't expect to see this kind of place in Fort Wayne. This is a definite visit next time we are in the area. read more

Genuinely great boba drinks that are comparable to my favorite boba places on the West Coast! I'm very used to the dizzying amount of boba places around California and Las Vegas, so finding a good place in Fort Wayne as a new, soon-to-be resident was important to me. I was impressed even just walking in - the interior was so cute! The walls were painted with murals of the place's mascot, and the bright yellow color motif was inviting and pleasant. I was surprised at the good variety of drinks on the menu as well - beyond the typical brown sugar drinks, there were some of my more obscure favorites like avocado milk frappes and ovaltine drinks. We got our drinks fairly quickly despite the shop being filled with people. My boyfriend and I got the Hokkaido milk tea and the taro mash special - both were fantastic. The drinks weren't overly sweet even at 100% sweetness, and the boba was a good chewy consistency! There were many other drinks that caught my eye, so I'm excited to come back and try more. read more

Hoshi Hoshi is like a Diamond in a coal mine, I really never expected a simple boba tea shop would knock out other brands of boba tea shops out of the water. First thing that catches your eye when you walk in Hoshi Hoshi is the adorable Shiba Inu comic that is in Kanji I believe? And then if you are lucky the scent of someone crème brûléeing a drink or as the shop likes to call it "fired tea." As the drinks have a distinct charm and they have different type of drinks as well from the classic boba tea and fruit tea's to even coffee and now sodas. Also the fact they serve waffle and a traditional Thai dessert called Pang Pang blows other boba tea shops out of the water. I will always stop by here whenever I have a chance. read more

My family are boba drink fanatics so when he recommended this new locally owned boba place in Fort Wayne i had to try! He picked me up a drink on his way over that i picked out from their online menu. I had lots of questions such as what is a Hoshi fire drink but did my best. Can adjust sweetness level which i really appreciate as i usually feel the drinks are way too sweet as is for me. I picked the dalgona cream brulee and i loved the flavor. What bummed me though is that it didn't automatically come with boba. Most places are starting to do this and it's honestly irksome as the drinks are quite pricey already. I'll save that last star once i have a chance to go back to visit the store and give their boba a try. But as their website boasts, their 13 years of experience in the industry is quite promising. This is the best milk tea/boba tea shop we've tried in Fort Wayne. They have a wide selection and everything we've tried were really good. Only caveat, there's not enough seats for those wanting to drink/eat their orders inside the shop. Other than that, place was really clean, owners/staff were friendly and most importantly, their milk teas were awesome!!! read more

One of my favorite drinks is the milk tea. We were coming here a LOT and spend typically $40+ for the family. It's often we walk in and have to wait forever for the drinks to be made so we started ordering online and taking our time getting over to get them. We think we are done with hoshi. The wait plus the cost being more than a Starbucks isn't worth it anymore. We place our order and arrive and they haven't even started the drinks. We end up sitting with screaming kids in the car and losing our minds waiting. Gonna have to stop coming since there's no benefit to online ordering here everytime. There seems to only ever be one person working and it's always busy when we pop in. Good drinks but only if you have the time and patience to wait hella long for it. read more

Second visit in a week and all I can say is they are consistent. We ordered the Ube Love waffle, Cream brulees & biscuits waffle, Hoshi Hokkaido milk tea (w/ boba), and Thai tea (blended w/ boba). Everything was tasty and refreshing. Customer service was excellent and they answered any questions we had. Definitely will be back. Went to this place because I was trying to find a good place to sit back and knock out a few emails and not wanting to go to another coffee shop. Did not see any reviews mentioning work - but did notice they have guest WiFi so went on in. Spoilers - not a great place to work, they did not provide the WiFi password and had chairs blocking the way to what I assume was the bathroom. Oh well. On to the drink - got the Mango Sticky Rice and it was awesome! However, needed to put it on to a receipt for an expense report so had to ask. Initially I was given a receipt with just a total to put a tip on and sign but requested itemized. They provided the receipt but I realized it was a dollar more than what was advertised all over the store. Overall would probably go back to just grab and leave with the expectation prices are a dollar or two higher than the menu, but the unwelcoming atmosphere does not make it a place I'd want to spend much time in. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! It was busy when we went in. There was a barcode to order online, so we ordered online, thinking it would be easier. We waited over 40 minutes for our order. Everyone that came in after us got their order first. They made everyone's drinks that ordered at the counter first, before they even touched our drinks, even though we were sitting there waiting. One of our drinks sat on the counter and was melted, while they continued to make new walk in customer orders. We assumed that since they had online ordering, they would be like everywhere else, and make orders in the order that it comes in. This is definitely not the case here! First and last time that we'll be ordering from here. read more
