Almost all the raving reviews mention the waffles here. Tried to order some (like I have regularly for years) and ended up feeling like I'd committed a crime. I felt yelled at bc the owner was so rude and acted mad that I was trying to order waffles at 10:15 am. He said he was sold out so I just ordered a drink. When I asked when would be a good time to get waffles next, he said, "I TOLD YOU!" No, you didn't. You said you were sold out. I didn't know at that time you only made a limited amount each day. After his, "I TOLD YOU," I probably looked confused. He then said he only makes one sheet a day. He went so far as to say they're a pain in his butt and he's semi retired anyway. OK. But all the pictures of the waffles that are used in advertising this place should be replaced with, "I don't really want customers so stay away." Because I will be from now on. read more

Best smooth delicious coffee, and the waffles are to die for. It's rare to get such good coffee, but this place does it right. Everything is imported from Europe, and that makes such a difference. Raspberry White Chocolate Waffle - 10/10 must get. Waffle flavor is unique but delicious. Plenty of raspberries and thick whipped cream. Greek Frappe - 10/10. Tons of espresso shots to wake you up. Flavor is good and complex. Maple Latte - 10/10. Off the menu. Maple syrup, honey, condensed milk, and sea salt. Get it hot. It's spectacular! read more

Oh my gosh, I am so happy to have discovered this place! I am frequently in the area for work and this will be my new go-to. The coffee is delicious, the waffles insanely indulgent, and the staff amazing. They saw me walking in and waved hi before I was even inside. Since I had never been there before I asked for a brief rundown on a couple of their drinks. While they were giving me the scoop, one of the employees saw a truck pulling into the drive thru. Get this: he recognized the truck, greeted the customer by name, AND remembered his usual order! Who does that anymore?? I was so impressed I will 100% be back. Ordered two iced mochas and two waffles to go, around 8am on a Friday morning. Coffees were great. Service was a little slow to put two waffles to go together and make the coffees (10mins or so, no to where customers waiting) but arguably that just reflects the waffles being scratch made. A great spot in Fort Wayne. Nice space with lots of seating. Staff was very friendly. Lots of great coffee offerings. We had one of the waffles, it was fantastic. Definitely big enough to share, I'm not sure how someone could finish one on their own. Prices are reasonable. Definitely would recommend checking them out. read more

Let me start by saying INCREDIBLE!!! The espresso here is the smoothest I have had in Fort Wayne!!! I love the flavor and perfect balance of milk, espresso and caramel I got!!! I ordered the caramel macchiato and I LOVE IT!! The customer service was overall good but more of a 4/5 (see below)! The environment was modern and the space was clean!!! I want to come back and try one of their special waffles, especially their Nutella strawberry waffle. Customer service: The adult work (appeared as one) was super kind. The teenage workers (2) were very distracted talking to one another. The girl teenager (blonde hair) kept messing with her hair. Also she saw snobby like she was doing me a favor by making my drink. I went to United with friends after it was recommended to me from someone. I ordered an iced cafe miel with oatmilk as well as their strawberry chocolate waffle. The waffle was great, very delicious!! So was my coffee, I just couldn't believe that two coffees & two waffles (me & my boyfriend) cost $36. The waffle was the real winner. The service was good, the ambiance was very cute, and I don't have anything else to complain about, but since this place is more on the expensive side and it's further away from where I live (like a 20 min drive) I probably won't go out of my way to come back here unless I'm already on this side of town. read more

Restaurant review Coffee and authentic Belgian waffles anyone? I had been hearing about this place from my co-workers and wife who comes quite frequently, but it wasn't until recently did I have a chance to come in and try the waffles and coffee. The back story about the waffles are the authenticity of the Belgian waffles with ingredients supposedly imported in. It is definitely a sweet breakfast moment that is a fork of happiness topped with hand whipped cream to top it off. Prices are above average for your meal. Staff is super friendly and clearly recognize the regulars. The coffee is okay, I just wish they would have served it in one of those big coffee cups instead of the paper cup. Absolute worst 'owner' I've encountered. While waiting for a to-go order I was standing near the end of the counter. The very nice young lady used this strawberry slicing gadget thingy and I simply said 'wow can I see what you just did?' The 'owner' aggressively told me that I had to sit down. I backed away and said that I was just waiting for my order. In photo you can see how their food prep area extends past the counter. As the young lady was finishing my order I made the statement 'I hope he treats his employees better than his customers.' To which he responded by pushing the bag at me and telling me to get the fuh out of his store. I stood there and waited for the rest of my order to be placed in the bag. He then comes out from behind the counter and literally guides me to the door. When I said that I was leaving, he then physically pushed my shoulder. I repeatedly had to tell him to 'stop touching me' This brings us to the public sidewalk where he tells me to leave. I take a few steps away because we are blocking the door and a woman and a child are trying to exit. All the while he is accusing me of being on drugs. He sees 300 people a day and I am definitely on drugs. To which I replied 'Only thing I am on is the public sidewalk'. He then calls the police and has me trespassed. As if I would go back. Here's something that I hope he reads and understands- Nystagmus is a condition that causes involuntary, rapid movement of one or both eyes. It often occurs with vision problems, including blurriness. This condition is sometimes called "dancing eyes." That does not say "drug eyes". I'll admit- it's a dang good waffle- but I can buy brioche waffles and a jar of Nutella and stay home where I won't be physically accosted, nor will I be publicly shamed for having involuntarily eye movement caused by issues with my central nervous system. If this review changes one person's decision to support this business, great. If not, I suggest the raspberry white chocolate waffle- just be sure that you don't get a 'side of assault' with your order. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth, no matter how good the food. read more

Second visit: as others have mentioned, music is very loud.... not a place to work or to have anything more than a casual conversation. Coffee is delicious, and again, so grateful for decaffeinated coffee that actually tastes good! Having had the pure version of the waffle before, my companion and I had "fancy" waffles. The mixed berry waffle was as much embellishment as those waffles could need. The fresh fruit and whipped cream were indulgent but still allowed one to appreciate the uniqueness of the imported dough of the waffle. Not so with the double chocolate banana waffle. It was just too sweet and all that banana and sauces could have covered a piece of styrofoam and tasted similarly... that is to say, the toppings entirely overwhelmed the waffle. Next visit will be coffee and a naked waffle! And if they turn the music down a bit I'll come with a friend. read more

Good reason this is the highest rated coffee spot in Fort Wayne (Google Maps 273 reviews with 4.9/5) - I enjoyed Turmeric Chai and immediately wished I had more time to try more drinks! Very friendly service, fantastic minimalist menu with a few special seasonal drinks (where the Turmeric Chai comes in), cool urban atmosphere with nice sitting and friend chatting spots. Regrettably tiny space and hardly a bathroom but the drive thru brings back a few points. Had to learn the WIFI pass: United13 - not posted anywhere I could see which might be annoying to ask when everyone is super busy. I didn't try one of the waffles, wished for some soup or something to warm up the chilly morning. My local Lafayette coffee spots do amazing things for food like Sacred Ground's potato hash soup, Fuel, Greyhouse, and Java Roaster all offering a nice variety. United could do well with a bigger space and extra eating options to match their winning brews. read more

Very knowledgeable about coffee & their waffles aren't traditional waffles, they are a Belgium waffle that doesn't need syrup. They were delicious & great coffee! We will be back when we are in town. I came here on a recommendation from my sibling who said that I absolutely HAD to have the waffles. I was feeling a little skeptical since I'm usually never a big fan of waffles but I have to say the ones here are exceptional -- a perfect combination of moist and crispy. Since the first time we've gone back at least 2-3 times just for these amazing waffles. Each time I've gone in, seeing the owners has been just as much of a delight as the waffles themselves. They're very friendly and make me feel right at home without being overbearing at all. As far as recommendations for waffles go, I'm partial to anything with fruit on it but I'm sure you can't go wrong no matter what toppings you choose. I haven't had their coffee yet but I'm looking forward to trying it during my next visit! read more

I had a day off due to the polar vortex so I decided to go check out another coffee shop to get some non-work related work done! United Coffee seemed to be one of the few coffee shops open. I had checked their Facebook and they had made a post with a meme saying "Everyone is scared about the weather tomorrow. We are Russian, -20F is nothing to worry about. We will be open tomorrow, come and hangout with us!!!" Loved the sense of humor. As a girl who loves memes it definitely was a factor in my decision to check the place out and I am very glad that I did! The interior of the coffee shop has a very minimalistic feel. Nothing is too overwhelming. It's very clean and their tables are nicely placed by outlets. They also had a drive thru window that's perfect if you're on the run. I've only seen a few local coffee shops that have drive thru windows. The staff is super friendly and kind. Watching them interact with their regulars was very heart warming to see. It was almost like they knew everyone coming through the door. Points for the A1 hospitality . They don't have a huge selection on their menu but their goods have so much quality. The waffle. Omg. So good. Y'all need to try it. The berries on top was great choice. I wanted something a little refreshing and what I was looking for was definitely delivered. It was the perfect size too! I am for sure going to have to try the other waffles. The dark mocha was great too. The temperature was perfect and the drink was so smooth.
