    Pork Spring Rolls
    David V.

The grilled pork spring rolls were good. I liked the sauce- not quite sure what type of sauce- tasted lite and more of a vinaigrette. I also ordered the pho- I was not a fan of. The soup was good but for some reason just lacked authenticity. Not sure what it is... I think the whole ambiance might have lacked authenticity... I couldn't put my finger on it. I'd go back just for the spring rolls though...

I love this place. Their food is great, but I'm always coming back for the bubble tea and the vibes. I recently took a trip back to Fort Wayne after moving out of state. I only had time to pick two restaurants, and I picked this one for the bubble tea.

Let me get the ugly out of the way. Bahn Mi does a lot of carry outs. On this evening it was busy and we dinned in. We walked in and ordered at the counter. There were three people taking orders, filling orders and making bubble teas. The young lady took my order and placed the order slip on the counter...along with about a dozen other orders. After 20 minutes of waiting you get annoyed. After 30 minutes of waiting and watching people who ordered after you get their food...you get a little angry. After this we confronted the desk lady. She couldn't find our order in the random pile of orders. She didn't know what happened to our order. The kitchen didn't have it. They did hustle to make our food once we called the issue to their attention. About 45 minutes after ordering...we got food. I felt really bad for the lady picking up carry out who had to ge waiting at least 45+ minutes. As for the food...the egg rolls were thin and the wrapper was pretty crunchy and oily. I the insides were fresh and tasty. The spring rolls were good - fresh tasting. The peanut sauce was very thin. It was difficult to dip as the sauce just fell off the wrapper. It seemed like it was watered down as well and lacked a strong peanut taste. The beef salad was okay. The beef was moist and tasty. I hope this event is an isolated time. We have not experienced this here before.

For starters, you order your food at the front, get a number, then find a seat. The ambiance is chill. Employees were somewhat friendly. Although there aren't many pho places in Fort Wayne, there are better spots than here. As a fellow Viet person, I wasn't a fan of their broth or pho options. You can't choose which beef pho you want - it's a standard beef pho that comes with cooked meat. Your girl wanted pho tai (raw beef that cooks in the hot steamy broth). The fact that they serve ramen here too shows me this is more of a fusion place. Save your $$ and try another pho spot. If you didn't know any better about pho, maybe this is a passable place. Tbh their drinks (milk tea / mango slushy) were decent.

This was our go to pho shop in the past. It's a unique restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring out the food to your table. They also serve drinks or cups of water if you requested. When I say it was our go to restaurant the pho had plenty of ingredients and the soup flavors were very rich, however, with inflation and everything else I feel that the protein amount has gone down compared to prior. For that reason, I will continue to search for the best pho in town. The overall ambience is very hip and trendy. You can take a picture in the back at their Instagram wall. Be sure to get there early. There are limited tables and parking spaces are also limited during peak times.

Yelp came to the rescue again! It was lunchtime and we were driving through Fort Wayne and my husband proclaimed I could really go for some pho. It was overcast and chilly so soup sounded like the right choice. After navigating through downtown Ft Wayne we arrived at a large building welcoming us with brightly colored murals. You order up at the counter and they bring you your food. Inside there was comfortable seating though out including benches with pillows. There was an also a small patio set up for outside dining when the weather is nice. We split a Korean BBQ Banh Mi sandwich. Delicious soft bread with the right amount of crunch in each bite. There was a good amount of meat and the flavor was excellent. This was probably in my top 3 for best Bahn Mi. I tried the combination pho with tendon, beef, and meatball. It had a dark, rich broth with a hint of star anise flavor that I love. Generous amounts of meat throughout. My husband had the pork belly ramen. All the soups come small or large. The Ramen broth was flavorful but other than the broth it was a bit of a letdown. The pork belly looked and tasted like it was boiled and the vegetables were devoid of any real flavor. At $15 for the large it wasn't worth it. The pho and the Bahn Mi earned 5 stars from me. Other than the ramen this place comes highly recommended and worthy of the stop.

Arguably the best Pho in FW... Stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday. Great decision, as BMP is absolute fire. We've been to many Vietnamese joints and this place is the real deal - Unbelievable pho. The broth has a slightly sweet/salty flavor that was perfectly seasoned. Quite honestly, some of the best pho we've ever had. The restaurant itself has a trendy lil vibe... It's rather large and very chill inside. The service was also excellent... The lady at the front counter was super friendly and everyone was attentive to customer - Def be back again.

Good place to grab lunch! The ramen broth was flavorful and not too salty. It came with a boiled egg that was cut in half and plenty of pork belly. Kiddos enjoyed the beef ramen and pork chop dish.. nice portions that will fill you up

Is the best Vietnamese food I've ever had somehow located in Indiana?! We were in the area during the solar eclipse recently and this came up while searching for dinner options. We're so glad we made time to visit. There was just one party ahead of us ordering at the counter when we arrived, and a line quickly formed behind us (not a bad sign). We ordered a couple items to share: veggie spring rolls, veggie pho, vegetarian fried rice, a veg and a chicken banh mi, and veggie ramen. It seems like a small family run spot so some of the food took a while, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was so delicious and really packed with depths of flavor. Our friends were having Vietnamese for the first time so we had to temper their expectations for trying it in other places because there's no way it would be this good. I know ramen isn't Vietnamese but I still dream about their ramen. Does it make sense to go back to Fort Wayne just for noodles...? I'd say the banh mis were the least strongest dish, compared to everything else, but still good. If you're in the area, run don't walk to Banh Mi Pho Shop.

Pork belly pho to go. I don't do it justice with my photo. Amazing flavors.

I haven't had Vietnamese food in 13 years. This did not disappoint. The young woman in the front answered my questions, and I waited for my takeout. The portions are large. My ramen and pho are only half orders, and my husband and I have leftovers. The Korean BBQ sandwich was delightful. We will be back!

This place is so kawaii!! (Aka cute in Japanese!) Fun decor, yummy food, and lots of drinks to choose from. I immediately was drawn to this place from the adorable signage and cute animated drawings of the employees on the front entrance. My husband and I were passing through on our road trip and were very pleased with our quick lunch stop here. Ordered the half size beef ramen soup, pork belly pho, vietnamese coffee and thai tea! Customer service is very kind and everything was super clean. Highly recommend if you live in the area!

Wonderful little restaurant, clean, friendly staff and fast service. You can eat inside or outside on the nice patio, I am lucky enough for the patio today. Not to mention the food is delicious! I will definitely be back for Pho

It was cold and drizzling outside so my hubby wanted a hot bowl of pho. The aromatic smell of anise, cinnamon and ginger preceded the bowl as the waitress brought it over to our table. It was steaming hot with a perfect ratio of noodles to meat to broth. The dish of garnish had every item: Thai basil, cilantro, crisp bean sprouts and several slices of lime, to enhance the pho experience. It brought back memories of our trip to Vietnam.

The decor is typical 60s Chinese restaurant with red lanterns and murals, but it does have a great fish tank in the center. The staff are all super friendly. You will find the typical menu items but prepared better than you've had before. All the meals come with soup, both the egg drop and tomato beef choices are very good. I'm always here with my family and we finally learned to order a few entree's and a few appetizers because we usually ended up with far too much food. Some menu highlights are the General Tsao chicken, the pineapple chicken, the crispy rice soup for two is excellent. They also offer Vietnamese selections, several varieties of Pho, and pan fried noodles. If you're ever in Fort Wayne I highly recommend you stop in.

I will say that these reviews led me to believe that the Hainan House provided a premium-gourmet product like Han Dynasty and Wu's Chinese. Hainan isn't in that top tier where the product WOWS you. But rather, Hainan is in that next tier down where some things are better than others. I ordered take out versus dinning in. The two elderly employees I interfaced with were very kind and helpful. The facility is easy to find as it is in the same complex as The Clyde. The building is older, in good repair and nicely decorated with Chinese decor (see pictures). Parking surrounds the building in an awkward manner - you will figure it out. The menu is very large (see pictures) as it is at most Chinese restaurants. Prices were fairly reasonable. My order was prepared quickly..so no waiting! The fried pot stickers were fairly standard compared with other Chinese restaurants. Not over cooked. Slightly oily. Tender wrapper and pork insides. It came with a dip that added flavor and moisture. The General Tso's sauce was very tasty. It was moderately thick, slightly sweet, a little spicy and stuck to the breading nicely. Nice taste without being sappy sweet or spicy hot! The chicken pieces were larger than bite size. This made it difficult to eat as I had to cut each piece into small enough pieces to eat with the rice. I found the chicken to be somewhat over cooked and slightly tough. The breading was thick and absorbed the seasoned sauce taste perfectly. The Happy Family sauce was very bland. It coated the meat and vegetables nicely keeping them moist. However it really didn't do much to accent these items. The vegetables were nicely cooked with a slight crisp. I was disappointed in the amount of meat placed in this dish. It felt like I was lucky to get more than one piece of each seafood item. These meats were cooked to expectation - moist and tender. Overall this dish was bland and didn't impress. The white rice was cooked to expectation. Slightly moist. It was easy to pick up with the entree bites. Overall, make sure you understand the product you are getting. I expected a premium product which disappointed me. I might have a different rating if I dined in and selected items that fit the "next tier" level of taste.

We looked up all the boba shops around, not expecting to find too much in the area, when we came upon Hoshi Hoshi. As soon as we saw "Mango Sticky Rice Frappe," we knew we had to go. It's great to see a really creative boba shop in Fort Wayne, especially one that (I think) is Thai owned, which is a big departure from the mostly Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese owned shops through the US. When we first walked in on a early weekend afternoon, there were no other customers in the shop, but as we waited for our drinks, more and more people started walking in until the place was completely full. I'm glad we were at the start of the rush rather than during it! Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.95) - Toppings are $1 each which is kind of on the expensive side. The tea is pretty good for this type of drink, mellow with perfect sweetness at 50%. The boba is a bit too soft, resulting in a disintegrating exterior that's rough and craggy. The bubbles are quite uniformly chewy throughout and resemble more of a jelly than typical tapioca balls. (3/5) Mango Sticky Rice Frappe w/ Jelly Mango ($9.95) - This drink consists of a mango and cream smoothie topped with sweet coconut infused sticky rice, diced mango, and a salty cream cheese topping. The drink is like a creamsicle leaning more towards the mango flavor instead of the cream flavor. The mango jelly sinks to the bottom of the drink, allowing you to get a piece every couple of sips. I was kind of nervous that if the rice was intermixed with the ice that it would be hard and gross, but thankfully they constructed this drink pretty well. Super delicious overall. (5/5) There was one puzzling thing - the barista asked us if we were okay with Jelly Mango in the drink and when we asked if it was included she said yes. Then she went ahead and charged an extra dollar for the topping. Either that, or the drink is not labeled corrected in the menu at $8.95. Bizarre in either case. Bathrooms: None that are customer accessible. I was really surprised by Hoshi Hoshi. I didn't expect to see this kind of place in Fort Wayne. This is a definite visit next time we are in the area.
