The grilled pork spring rolls were good. I liked the sauce- not quite sure what type of sauce- tasted lite and more of a vinaigrette. I also ordered the pho- I was not a fan of. I love coming here for the Ramen! Full size is a big portion too enough to split with someone and the pricing is fair. Service is usually pretty quick too however when they get really busy you might have a bit of a wait. Definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try ramen or pho. read more

Let me get the ugly out of the way. Bahn Mi does a lot of carry outs. On this evening it was busy and we dinned in. We walked in and ordered at the counter. There were three people taking orders, filling orders and making bubble teas. The young lady took my order and placed the order slip on the counter...along with about a dozen other orders. After 20 minutes of waiting you get annoyed. After 30 minutes of waiting and watching people who ordered after you get their food...you get a little angry. After this we confronted the desk lady. She couldn't find our order in the random pile of orders. She didn't know what happened to our order. The kitchen didn't have it. They did hustle to make our food once we called the issue to their attention. About 45 minutes after ordering...we got food. I felt really bad for the lady picking up carry out who had to ge waiting at least 45+ minutes. As for the food...the egg rolls were thin and the wrapper was pretty crunchy and oily. I the insides were fresh and tasty. The spring rolls were good - fresh tasting. The peanut sauce was very thin. It was difficult to dip as the sauce just fell off the wrapper. It seemed like it was watered down as well and lacked a strong peanut taste. The beef salad was okay. The beef was moist and tasty. I hope this event is an isolated time. For starters, you order your food at the front, get a number, then find a seat. The ambiance is chill. Employees were somewhat friendly. Although there aren't many pho places in Fort Wayne, there are better spots than here. As a fellow Viet person, I wasn't a fan of their broth or pho options. You can't choose which beef pho you want - it's a standard beef pho that comes with cooked meat. Your girl wanted pho tai (raw beef that cooks in the hot steamy broth). The fact that they serve ramen here too shows me this is more of a fusion place. Save your $$ and try another pho spot. If you didn't know any better about pho, maybe this is a passable place. This was our go to pho shop in the past. It's a unique restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring out the food to your table. They also serve drinks or cups of water if you requested. When I say it was our go to restaurant the pho had plenty of ingredients and the soup flavors were very rich, however, with inflation and everything else I feel that the protein amount has gone down compared to prior. For that reason, I will continue to search for the best pho in town. The overall ambience is very hip and trendy. You can take a picture in the back at their Instagram wall. Yelp came to the rescue again! It was lunchtime and we were driving through Fort Wayne and my husband proclaimed I could really go for some pho. It was overcast and chilly so soup sounded like the right choice. After navigating through downtown Ft Wayne we arrived at a large building welcoming us with brightly colored murals. You order up at the counter and they bring you your food. Inside there was comfortable seating though out including benches with pillows. There was an also a small patio set up for outside dining when the weather is nice. We split a Korean BBQ Banh Mi sandwich. Delicious soft bread with the right amount of crunch in each bite. There was a good amount of meat and the flavor was excellent. This was probably in my top 3 for best Bahn Mi. I tried the combination pho with tendon, beef, and meatball. It had a dark, rich broth with a hint of star anise flavor that I love. Generous amounts of meat throughout. My husband had the pork belly ramen. All the soups come small or large. The Ramen broth was flavorful but other than the broth it was a bit of a letdown. The pork belly looked and tasted like it was boiled and the vegetables were devoid of any real flavor. At $15 for the large it wasn't worth it. The pho and the Bahn Mi earned 5 stars from me. Other than the ramen this place comes highly recommended and worthy of the stop. read more

Arguably the best Pho in FW... Stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday. Great decision, as BMP is absolute fire. We've been to many Vietnamese joints and this place is the real deal - Unbelievable pho. The broth has a slightly sweet/salty flavor that was perfectly seasoned. Is the best Vietnamese food I've ever had somehow located in Indiana?! We were in the area during the solar eclipse recently and this came up while searching for dinner options. We're so glad we made time to visit. There was just one party ahead of us ordering at the counter when we arrived, and a line quickly formed behind us (not a bad sign). We ordered a couple items to share: veggie spring rolls, veggie pho, vegetarian fried rice, a veg and a chicken banh mi, and veggie ramen. It seems like a small family run spot so some of the food took a while, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was so delicious and really packed with depths of flavor. Our friends were having Vietnamese for the first time so we had to temper their expectations for trying it in other places because there's no way it would be this good. I know ramen isn't Vietnamese but I still dream about their ramen. Does it make sense to go back to Fort Wayne just for noodles...? The vegetarian spring rolls were great here. Filled with tofu, lettuce, carrots, and interestingly avocado. The sauce served with it was good too. The tofu filling they put in the spring rolls is similar to the filling in their vegetarian bánh mì. The bread was crunchy on the outside and airy on the inside. I might just order their bread on it's own next time! The employees are friendly and work to get the food out to you quickly. It was cold and drizzling outside so my hubby wanted a hot bowl of pho. The aromatic smell of anise, cinnamon and ginger preceded the bowl as the waitress brought it over to our table. It was steaming hot with a perfect ratio of noodles to meat to broth. So this was supposed to be part of a food tour where I send love letters to my favorite places in Fort Wayne. But, have you ever come across a place so bad, you just had to check back on it to see if you have s**t on it properly? Yeah. That's how bad this place is. The first thing you should do at Bánh Mì Phở Shop is don't. The second thing, should you ignore that first advice, is to join all our Viet homies around Fort Wayne to take down this malignant misrepresentation of our cuisine. You see, our phở is not soggy, our meatballs not like nondescript powder clumped into a vague spheroid, our Vietnamese ramen does not taste like maruchan with a side of frozen Walmart vegetables, and our bánh mì does not give you diarrhea, unless you got them at Bánh Mì Phở Shop. Bánh Mì Barista at least had the sentimental value of being the prime catering candidate for our college events, with slightly better cuisine. It's like whoever's heading the Bánh Mì Barista kitchen had to consciously disobey orders and try to make foods that are at least EDIBLE in a futile attempt to rebel against the main location and preserve some shred of his humanity. Bless that guy, and hope he's not getting fired any time soon. The friend who got diarrhea from the bánh mì suggested that his excrement was not too different from what he put in, and that the food went straight through. read more

This place is going downhill. Me and my fiancé ate here all the time. Not anymore! A full size of ramen use to be able to feed like 2 people. Nope its a kid size now and couldn't even feed 1 adult! I got the pork belly meat in the ramen and there were like 4 slices. And their fried rice is so BLAND! Toilet paper has more flavor than their chicken fried rice. Not only that, 10$ worth of fried rice should be a very good amount considering how cheap it is to make. But nope, it would barely be able to feed an adult. Egg rolls were meh. Barely any flavor like their fried rice. This place use to be one of my FAVORITES but not anymore! Doubt I will be back. Quit skimping on the food. They are doing all the important stuff really well, but there are just a few finishing touches that need work. We came in and ordered at the counter, and our food was brought to us as it became available. First, my coffee it tasted perfect, but it was served in a to-go cup like it had come from a vending machine. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but if you went to all the trouble of making fine Vietnamese coffee, why not serve it in a way that exhibits your craftsmanship? Similarly, we were served spring rolls that were fantastic, as evidenced by the fact that we gobbled most of them up before even taking a picture. But they were served on a Styrofoam plate, which again takes away from the great food. My better half got his pho in a bowl, which is great, but my banh mi which had a fantastic crunch, and just the right amount of kick, was served in a red plastic basket as if it were chicken tenders or fish and chips. The KBBQ Banh Mi was delicious, it had pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and the barbecue meat which was sweet and smoky. The portion size is small and would only be enough if you're not very hungry. The hot green tea bubble tea was too sweet for my liking, but it's my fault for forgetting to ask them to put less sugar in it since I usually like it less sweet. It tastes more like matcha than regular green tea and they didn't put the pearls in it, but overall it was good despite the fact that it tastes like it's from a powder packet and not made from scratch. I was impressed with the beef rice noodle, it looked simple but tasted pretty good. They disappointed me, as the first strike is that they will not even provide free refills of soft drinks or even Ice tea. I ordered the Pho special. and can easily say for what you pay for this bowl of soup, it is just not worth it. The egg rolls weren't even that good compared to other restaurants. The pork fried rice was decent, but again still not worth the price you pay, especially for the portion you get. My husband's soup was very light on noodles as my soup had twice the amount. This meal for two came out to 52 dollars and change, sadly this is a restaurant that wants to charge as much as they can and give you as little as possible. You want better pho and food overall. Go to Saigon pay less, get better Pho, and Vietnamese food, plus get Free refills for your soft drinks/Teas. read more

I love ramen and this place knows how to make a great bowl of ramen. They add tons of vegetables to it and it all mixes together so well. If you decide to order it, just know that it's got a bit of a kick to it. The interior of this place is so cute and I love all of the little areas that you can sit in. Had to try this place out after being a long time fan of the original shop Banh Mi Barista. Liking the upgrade of bigger menu, bigger inviting dining area, and bigger free parking space. Still same casual family vibe and friendly service. They have ramen once a week here (not at other location) and almost always sell out. The chef must like to experiment because it's different each time. Last time i saw it was a ribeye ramen. I also spied one of my favorite dishes, the rice pork chop dish. However i opted to get the Viet special sandwich without spicy just to get a baseline comparison. The bread is different and personally i think better than the original. It's more crunchier and more authentic to the banh mi. Sandwich tasted great but next time I'll have to ask for no soy sauce because it was almost too salty for me but probably fine for most people. The avo smoothie was just as delish as always! (I promise I'll get something other than avo next time lol). Make sure to take a tour and look at the art. The chalk mural in the back looks so neat.
